Allison, glad to have you on the Yak Shack!  Your cards have caused quite a buzz.  Quite a few of them have been discussed on the threads.  Cool  Welcome!

Welcome to The Forum Allison!!   Smiley  Beautiful artwork by anyone's standard!  Are you a Lord of the Rings fan and if so do you have a favorite character you like to create?

I want to here and now take a minute to personally thank Cynthia Cummins, Cat Staggs, Grant Gould, and you Allison Sohn for creating some of the most beautiful and inspiring Lord of the Rings artwork I have seen.   Smiley

I'm a HUGE LOTR fan; I read the books ( a second edition box set dated 1965 that I still own) over and over as a child and a teenager. I think some of my favorite characters are Eowyn, Galadriel,  and Samwise.  I also feel that Peter Jackosn did as good a job as i coudl have ever wished for, bringing my favorite books to the big screen.....

wow... WOW. I cannot thank you all enough for the warm welcome! Here is a link to some more of my art. When I am not being a Star Wars nerd playing with my FX lightsaber, or a Tolkien fan reading my books and watching the films, swinging my light up FX Sting at the cats, I am a comic book nerd (now I know you are all creating a visual of me, and it's not very flattering...). This website is a free service that hosts comic art collections for both  collectors and creators. Mine is a little of both; the stuff I have collected from other artists, as well as pin-up work of my own. I hope you all enjoy!

Wow Allison, its fantastic to have you here!!! Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I adore your work - I was outbid on your first auction with the sideways format card featuring Legolas and his bow :'( It was my absolute favourite ones of all the cards you did and I was extremely disappointed to miss out Embarrassed

Lovely to have you here with some of our other favourite artists Smiley

I have another question for our artists - if we see a particular sketch we like, is it OK to ask the artist to do a replica? For example, I would love an exact copy of the Galadriel I mentioned earlier as its exactly what I am looking for, but it may be stuck inside a box for years before it turns up. I'm unlikely to pull it or buy it from Ebay. Would it be acceptable for me to ask the artist (Grant in this case) to draw an exact replica? I'm not sure of the protocol for sketch cards Wink

It's perfectly ok to ask for whatever you like:)

For our artists just curious which sketches you did for the set that you are most proud of.  It goes without saying post the scan if you have one of the card.  Maybe top 5 or 10.

I did one of Royd Tolkien as a Ranger that I just loved. My other favorite was Gandalf with the smoke ship. Other favorites....Gollum behind bars and my Balrog!

You are most welcome Grant.   Smiley   It is so cool to just see sketch cards like the two just posted by Roz & CC!   Smiley   I have noticed it is starting to slow down for new sketch cards on ebay.  We are seeing the cards that did not sell being relisted and in most cases reduced.  With 15,000 sketch cards out there we have seen only the tip of the ice berg!  Who has all the rest?   Wink
