I. am. KICKING myself...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6258765012

No matter, when ES puts it up for sale, I can buy it for the $400 it will go for then Wink

Does anyone know if Russ Walks does commissions? I had a look on his site, but I couldn't find anything.

My list of commission wants is growing Roll Eyes Grin

And a big g'day to Grant! Nice to 'meet' some more of the Evolution artists Smiley I am a Legolas fan mainly, but I adore your Aragorn sketches   especially the colour one with him holding the palantir. And I love te pencil ones too. And your colour Galadriel. They are awesome! Grin

For those who have no idea of what I am going on about:

And I think you've captured Eowyn perfectly here:

Grant sure does excellent work both in black & white and color!   Smiley  I think Jo is going to be speaking with Grant about some work soon.   Smiley

I wanted to put this out for all of you - Artists and collectors - What do you all think of Topps placing their LOTR's Evolutions Logo where they did on the sketch cards?  I honestly have viewed every sketch card offered to date on ebay and believe you me it can be tiring using dial up connection speeds.  I have seen way too often that the logo obscures important portions of the characters face or a good part of a scene.  Some Artists have done a wonderful job working around this obstacle while others did not.  Was this a problem for you Artists?  Personally I wish that logo was not on the front of the card at all leaving a nice blank canvas for the Artists to create their work.  As Aragorn says "What Say You?"!   Smiley

That logo was indeed a bit of a challenge to work around. Whoever designed it should have considered how portraits would fit around it, given this was a character set.

Thanks for posting those pictures Jo.  I think they illustrate perfectly that the 'cartoony' sketches can also be works of art.  I think they are absolutely gorgeous and show how much time, effort and skill the artist has put into each picture.

I had this one on my watch list out of curiosity.  Look what it sold for!  Shocked Shocked

This was my favorite Gollum!  Too bad it went too high for me to bid, but I'm sure the winner will be thrilled when they get it.

The same Buyer who purchased the two sketch cards in Kelly's post is the same one who bought CC's beautiful Aragorn piece for $795.93 a few days ago.  I have run up against him in bidding wars for Decipher's Lord of the Rings CCG over the last few years when we go head to head over various Foil cards from the sets.  Old daveyjaro seems to have deep pockets indeed as he is also bidding on many color and black & white sketch cards from several Artists to include CC, Cat, Grant, and Kayanan.  Looks like he is picking off many good pieces one at a time.   Tongue

Thank you CC for your input into the placement by Topps of the Evolutions Logo design.  I had a feeling this sentiment might be expressed.  At least we will not have to deal with that problem on commission work.   Smiley
