Nice pull! That's one of the rare Cummens that has some blue in it. I would keep it if it were me. What if you bought 2 more boxes with the sale of this card and only pulled a couple of Martinez or Shums sketches?  |

That's an unusual Gollum you got yourself there - I agree with Kelly re: keeping it!   ~*~ This auction caught my eye as I was trawling through the listings on the hunt for a Merry costume card yesterday evening. I've looked through the lotrsketch site too but couldn't find anything else like it ... do Cynthia, Cat or Grant recognise the style or know who's work it is perhaps? I thought it was a really nice sketch of Merry and one I'd not come across before which is why I wanted to know. Any ideas on the mystery artist please?  |

I would keep the card if you are interested in Aragorn, if you are not then I would sell it. I have one by the same artist I won on ebay but it is a close up face shot. And yes I am one of those people exclusively collecting Aragorn sketches. |

Personally, I like it - I'd keep it. Course, I'm also trying to accumulate as many nice McCrea sketches as I can - they seem to be reasonably priced (ie, in my budget) and of nice quality. While I'm not forcing myself to stick to one artist or one character, I do keep getting drawn back to the McCreas |

Ok Ill keep it. I won the auction yesterday, but when I showed my mum she announced that she didnt like it, which made me doubt it a bit. She thinks it doesnt look like Aragorn; I was trying to explain that its art, not a photo. Ill wait and see what its like in person, but I think its a keeper.

I just had an idea. What if you picked 4 of your favorite artists and had them do a commission of the same pose of your favorite character? You could frame them as sort of a study in styles. I think it would be kind of neat.

IF you were supposed to do 500 sketches (for example) for the set did they just send you 500 cards? Did they give you any extra ones to allow for mistakes? I pulled a card or two that looked like there was a small mistake and wasn't corrected or obvious that an attempt was made to cover it up. I am assuming they only sent you the alloted sketch cards they wanted you to do. Is that correct. I am sure they wouldn't want the "mistake" cards to end up on ebay as an official sketch.

I personally did not receive any extra cards for mistakes -- They only sent me 206 total. 200 for pack insertion, and then the 6 cards to send back to me for personal use. |
