Probably a silly question, but is each sketch card an original drawing or are they prints?
If they are original, do they have a glossy finish to protect the pen/pencil like the auto cards?

I saw the movie yesterday and thought it was definately worth watching. Kong is excellent - very realistic looking with excellent movements etc done by Andy Serkis. Andy also reveals his comic side again as Lumpy the cook - but what were those slug looking things?!
My only gripe is the part when everyone is running between the dinosaurs - doesnt look very convincing and surely the people would have got crushed?

Would anyone agree that Gary Oldman in 'Leon' is one of the best acting roles he's ever done?
Personally I think it's a superb film and he is great to watch as the insane, 'turned to the dark side' policeman.

Yes, a pretty good box and you got a costume and auto! I'm glad you won it as I'd never have known if it was a hotbox or not!

Well as I now live in Glasgow, I had to pop into the Memorabilia show on Sunday - only £5 to get in (the cheapest one of these events I've ever been to!)
I couldnt afford any autos this time, but my boyfriend wanted to meet one of the Red Dwarf cast.
The show was so much quieter than the Birmingham one, but in a way it was great as there were no queues and you could see all the stalls properly!
I managed to avoid buying any cards, although there were loads of card dealers there and all different kinds of boxes - quite exciting!
Anyway, for no money at all I got my photo taken with Anthony Daniels (C3PO) and with David Carradine (Bill from 'Kill Bill').
Just when we were about to go, a stall was trying to get rid of a load of stuff for £1 per item. Well, I can never resist a bargain, and a good rummage, and after hunting through stuff, I paid £3 for a new sealed Tardis stand-up calendar from 2000, an ET 7" record from 1982 and a brand new Star Trek Next Generation sealed viewer keyring ...oh and a free mini christmas tree! Not bad really! 

I think you'll find the seller is me!

Was originally £89.95 but no-one was buying, so made a great reduction as I am really in need of cash for Christmas!

I just heard from a good friend of mine who I was at Uni with. She did a joint honours degree with Chinese, despite never having spoken a word before, and 4 years later is working in China as a translator and personal assistant to ..... Naomi Watts and Edward Norton while they're filming 'The Painted Veil' in Beijing! Sound like a pretty cool job to me hanging out with the actors, although I guess you have to do a lot of running around for them! My friend told me that she's now able to easily chat with them, but prob cant get any autos as it might be unprofessional -  :'(
Now if only I had a job like that!

Hey Roz, How come my new thread disappears and gets hidden in an old one? I didnt realise you had started a thread in august on this topic, it must have gone off the page). I know they're on the same topic, but my thread was for opinions now the film's out, and half the fun of posting on these boards is to see the replies you personally get.
Anyway, no hard feelings  - I just feel a bit left-out now!

It's called A History of Violence, was released this weekend and the main character is played by Viggo (although he plays quite a different part to Aragorn!)
It has loads of excellent reviews in the film mags such as Empire despite not being a big hollywood bluckbuster. I saw it on Saturday and thought it was good - be prepared for Viggo's x-rated sex scenes though!

For those who live further North, there is also a Memorabilia being held in Glasgow this November.
Not sure if the guests will be different from the Birmingham one, but I'll def be going as it's only 10 mins down the road from me

The adult copies are definately in short supply! The only shop I managed to find one was in Borders this weekend.
They only had a pile of about 20 lleft, and bear in mind they were not all First Edition/First printings! The majority were marked '3' where it normally states 'First Edition' - so I assume it refers to the third print-run. Anyway, I scoured through and found a First Edition and it now sits proudly on my shelf, although I've not managed to read it yet! (I've just finished the Philip Pullman His Darl Materials Trilogy, which BTW is superb!!!!!!)
I reckon the adult copies are definately stylish and will be more rare in the future!

Please let me know if you are interested in buying my POA sealed unopened Hobby Box - it is from the first issue that was produced (with the Hermione single auto, Sirius Black auto, Dumbledore auto etc. as well as many costume cards) and I believe there were only 500 cases made, making the total number of boxes out there very limited compared to the more recent update edition.

I haven't seen one of these on Ebay for a while, the last time I did, they were going for about £100, but I will consider any reasonable offer and will certainly give you a deal if interested.

I'd rather sell to someone on this board than on Ebay, as I know people here are genuinely interested, and I'm sure Roz and others can vouch for me.

Wow, finally my slipcase arrived today! I've got to say the extended DVDs now look great on display and thanks to the kind US ebayer who helped me obtain it!

Thanks for all the congrats and words of encouragement! I cant believe how driving tests differ so much throughout the world, I think those in some states of the USA are quite lucky!
Roz, you sound much further ahead than me, I have literally started from scratch and had about 8 lessons, so I'm only just getting used to learning the basic skills of driving, let alone anything else!
But still, it's quite fun although, yes, very expensive - no more card buying from now on!

Phew! 100% on Multiple choice questions, just passed Hazard perception!
Now I only need about another 40 driving lessons and I might be ready for the Practical Test!

Is it just me, or does Viggo's signature look an awful lot sloppier than his FOTR ones?
(Not that I'm complaining of course, just interested!)

Having watched some of the DVD extras, at the end of final filming, the cast had a little presentation and were given props to take home as souvenirs e.g Elijah got Sting and the One Ring (as did Andy Serkis), Miranda got her belt, Christopher Lee his staff, etc etc.

Viggo says the best souvenirs remain in his head and heart, but what would you have liked to be given?
My Choice:
1) Anything that Aragorn wore/held (!)
2) The palantir
3) The whole set of sketches at the end of the RoTK - I personally think the one of Boromir is superb!

Someone I know lives very close to where the seller is from (it's a tiny town), so I could get them to knock on their door and ask to see the set in person!
