I like your idea, Sharon, that the person who it concerns know it but I don't think it shots out of the dead secret keeper and then zooms to the person I think when they die the person just knows after. Like I think thats why Harry wasn't really much upset after Dumbledore died because the knew it was for him and he had to die.

Sharon, I love your idea...it seems like the kind of thing that J.K. Rowling would dream up. However, I don't know if this would fit it- My personal favourite is that the secret Harry has found out is that something terrible is at Hogwarts (maybe a Horcrux) and that is why he has decided not to go back.
Wouldn't you think that Harry would go right for that Horcrux if he knew one was at Hogwarts? It seems to me that he has embarked on more of a personal quest to hunt down the remaining Horcrux. Perhaps DD knew of several locations of other Horcrux (for example Godric's Hollow) and so Harry is setting out to those destinations. But I believe you are definetly on the right track with your idea. It must fit in somehow, if she thinks enough to make it a question.

Yep you are right about Harry heading straight for the Horcrux. But my other favourite theory is that the whole of Hogwarts is one giant Horcrux and that the last book will end in a Die Hard meets Demolition Man style explosion where the castle gets blown to pieces

As much as I enjoy Die Hard-esque explosions, I don't believe it would be possible to make all of Hogwart's a Horcrux, much less blow the whole place up. But it makes for an interesting and sad mental image. I do believe that Voldemort did hex or place a spell on something in DD's office when he visited asking for a professorship. But if Harry would have learned this information, (going under your secret keeper idea) I think he would have gone right for it. I like to think that DD at least left him some sort of direction or way to find the next Horcrux (we can not so boldly assume that it is in Godric's Hollow).
Again, as soon as I finished HBP, I had a great thought for the next book. As DD seemed to view his death as inevitable (or perhaps just in case), I do not think that he would have left Harry alone. I'm sure that either someone will approach Harry as an associate of DD to help him, or Harry will find some sort of box that was left for him by DD. Wouldn't you think a wizard as powerful as DD would have quite a few artifacts and such rare magical items? I think it plausable that DD left behind instructions or a number of magical items to help Harry along the way.

Cool interesting. I have dabbled with the idea that once the secret keeper has died the secret is lose as any one who has read my fan fic will know Is this in the new one? I am waiting till it is finished till I start it. Not that I am rushing you, no pressure Nope its in my book seven, so you will have already read it. I'm afraid I haven't done any writting of any sort for ages :-( not since Ihave been working.

Dumbledore isn't deadhis connection to the Phoenix, and the fact that he has so many names, suggests to me, that he's died and been reborn before....no spell can bring back the dead, this is true, but we know that Avada Kedavra works differently on a Phoenix, while they technicall 'die' they are reborn nonetheless.......I think Dumbledore has a similar power......

Hello all! I hope the summer is going well for everyone! My Friends and I have been rereading ALL of the potter books from one to six looking for clues to Book 7! Dennis (I can't take credit for his idea) came up with a very interesting theory. What if Snape and Dumbledor were using PolyJuice potion? In book 4 the Goblet of Fire...Right after VM comes back he says and I can't quote him because I don't have the book in front of me but it goes something like this "I see that 6 of my followers aren't present. 3 are dead. 1 is a coward and will be taken care of......Could this be Karkaroff? the second is my most devoted follower and has already joined me.......Crouch JR.? and one will never return....Snape? did Snape sacrafice himself so that DD would survive? is that why Snape/DD was so angry with harry? because it was DD and he had to sacrafice his good friend Snape and Stilll Harry didn't trust Snape? Like i said I can't quote exactly what VD said in GoF but the poly juice potion theory is pretty good! That could explain alot! because then DD really wouldn't have given Snape the Defence against the Dark Arts position he would have been teaching it himself! And DD wouldn't have died either! but everyone would have thought so. and that would give him more leverage! The only wizard that VD is afraid of is DD. Well any way this is just one more theory in what i am sure are going to be a bunch! but it made since to me...............()who knows maybe Dennis is on to something!

Yes but it would have had to be Snape in the cave. And Barty Jnr had his soul sucked out.

i like your theory rose!!! but theres too many questions surronding the funeral, even though we dont see dumbledores body, and out of complete excitment however!! ive been refering constantly to my books whilst reading this whole subject and in book six at the funeral, this is written "Hagrid was walking slowly up the isle between the chairs. He was crying silently, his face gleaming with with tears, and in his arms, wrapped in a purple velvet spangled with golden stars, was what harry KNEW TO BE Dumbledore's body".if it was dumbledores body why would she write what harry knew to be and not just Dumbledore's body?? i am desperately clinging to the fact hes alive so be gentle

I cant find the interview She was just in New York doing a promo book reading/Q&A for charity with Stephen King & John Irving - think it was called an evening with Harry, Carrie, and Garp. And yes, she emphatically stated that Dumbledore is dead. I've read bits & pieces from several news agencies this week...

But then the way I see it the whole point of him dieing was so that Harry had to do it without him. Which wouldn't work if it was oh by the way I'm not dead really

Thanks for posting the link, I really wanted to read what happened . I am disappointed about Dumbledore because I was convinced he would 'do a Gandalf' as JKR puts it. I am totally intrigued by Aunt Petunia now though. Any thoughts as to what it might be? I seem to remember JKR writing somewhere that she definitely doesn't have any magical powers so I wonder what it is?

I have been wondering about Aunt Petunia since she knew what Azkaban was. Also, remember when she spoke up and said that they had to keep Harry until he was of age? Do you think she knows Voldemort somehow?
I also have a feeling that Hagrid might be one of the two deaths in the 7th book. I read a transcript of the NYC interviews. One of the questions was who she would invite to dinner if she had to choose. She said Harry, Hermione, and Ron outright. Then she said Hagrid, but before she committed to him, she said something like, "It's hard because I know the outcomes of these characters, I know who dies." Then she went ahead and said Hagrid, but not after some hesitation. It seems to me that when she flew out with Harry, Ron and Hermione, it suggests that they may survive. Her hesitation began with Hagrid. Any thoughts?

Yep I agree, it did seem like Hagrid will soon be an ex-half giant. Unless of course JKR knew we would think that if she hesitated and it was a red herring As for Petunia, I had forgotten about Azkaban. OK totally wild theory time now .... maybe she did something when she was younger that meant she was due to be sent to Azkaban ie tried to assassinate a senior wizard or burn down Hogwarts. OK these might be a bit extreme but it is feasible she tried to expose the wizarding community in order to destroy them. She may have been sentenced to a term in Azkaban (we have never been told a Muggle can't be sent there) and Dumbledore was the one who came to her rescue thus owing him a debt of honour/gratitude. Well this may seem completely crazy but could just be ......
