Undecided  Hi every one and thanks for all the info FTY.  Could the Goblet of Fire be one of the Horcruxes?  It would be interesting if the Goblet itself were one.  Thanks for all the input from everyone also. I am new to this as you have probably realized ROFL! I really enjoy this site.  Grin keep up the good work!!  Cool

What a brilliant idea  Grin  The Goblet of Fire could be Hufflepuffs Goblet!  That would tie in with Dawns idea about one Horcrux per book.  I think we have almost cracked it  Wink Grin

But wouldn't the snake be the primary book 4 prospect?

Do we even know if a Horcrux can be inside a living being? I can't remember that being stated either way in retrospect

We don't know.  We do know what happens to a person whom Voldemort possesses, like Quirrell.  If Harry were a Horcrux, I think he would experience a lot of problems from having a piece of an evil soul hidden in his body, but that's just my opinion. Smiley

It was Dumbledore who thought the snake was a prime candidate, on the theory that there wasn't anything better available when he murdered at the Riddle mansion, and how fond he is of Nagini. So from Dumbly's point of view, it was possible to use a living creature. Which means we can't rule it out for the snake (or others).

On that train of thought, thinking back on what might be a horcrux related to Book 3 ... how about the Whomping Willow? I can't think of a good "Gryffindor or Ravenclaw artifact" candidate from that book, but it sure would be a Hogwarts icon and something LV might have hoped to have access to when he returned to the school. Or maybe there was something that Scabbers visited that might have had the Gryffindor connection, butI don't remember any possible clues.

The Whomping Willow is a good idea but I don't think it was there when LV last went back to Hogwarts.  Wasn't the Willow planted specifically for Remus, to protect the entrance to the Shrieking Shack (as opposed to the Yak Shack  Wink )

Maybe it is just me but I assumed LV created all of the Horcrux when he first came to power, not after the backfiring curse.  I know he needed to have killed each time to create one, but judging by the body count JKR hinted at this doesn't seem to be such a big problem.

I thought about the goblet, that would be interesting. I think most of the Hcs where made before the back fire I think IF Harry is one he is the last. This doesn't ruke out the willow thought as he could have used that before the back fire. I'm nit sure about it though I think its just like that by nature or maybe it is a bit of LV thats why it liked killing birds in the film  Undecided

Hey all! I am recovering from a really bad tooth ache  Sad and I am on tylenol 3's Grin so this may sound alittle weird... But here it goes any way!! I was thinking what if LV's wand is a horcruxe? I mean they do make a big deal about the wands being brothers, and having the same "Pheonix" feather inside them. Maybe the HC are 1) the diary for COS, 2) the ring for SS, 3) the "Lock"et for POA 4) the goblet for GOF 5) the wand for OOP 6) harry for HBP and 7)LV himself or Nagine for the 7th book?  I don't know.... it sounds good when you are on pain killers! Grin I thought I had it worked out last night!! ROFL! ps Just wanted to let ya all know that I really enjoy chatting with you Wink I like all of your ideas also.. keep up the good work! rosewhite

Heh, not to be a smart-ass, but looking back on his (thus far) six years at Hogwarts, Harry has experienced a lot of problems, now hasn't he?  Evil  ROFL!

Harry Potter and the glimmer of hope...

Much as I don't like to sit and think about poor Harry's fate. Last night a tought occured to me. If Harry is a Horcrux as I really believe he is. Then affectively he has two souls. Therefore could his salvation actually come in the form of a Dementor? They have always been drawn to him. Ok there would onlt be a 50/50 chance of them getting the right soul. But its a possibility Smiley

I like your theory.  So what you are saying is, if Harry is a Horcrux, there is still hope left that he can survive?

This was started on another forum.

If Harry is a Horcrux then he must die to kill Voldemort because as Dumbledore said in HPB all of them must be destroyed to kill the point of origin (not exact words but I believe something close) But Dawn, you are correct. Harry does have two souls currently in his body if he is indeed a Horcrux. But think about this, what if Harry dies, maybe he would come back because he does have two souls and is able to kill Voldemort

This is just a thought after reading the new poll on the JKR site.

What if Harry now knows more than he is letting on?  One of the questions on the site is what happens to a secret when the secret keeper dies.  What if DD had some huge secret he could not tell Harry but that he wanted Harry to know.  What if when a secret keeper dies the secret goes whizzing through the air straight to the person it concerns.  Maybe the only way DD could tell Harry the secret was to die.  If this is the case whose secret was it?  Several possibilities

1. Lily and / or James.  Maybe something about their families
2. Tom Riddle.  DD was very close to him when he was a lad.  Maybe Tom told DD some terrible secret that could lead to his destruction
3. Sirius.  He told DD that he was going to fake his own death by pretending to jump through the curtain.  OK this one is only wishful thinking  Wink
4. The Centaurs.  Not sure why but this just sounds really interesting.

My personal favourite is that the secret Harry has found out is that something terrible is at Hogwarts (maybe a Horcrux) and that is why he has decided not to go back.

I dont think J.K. would have this huge secret go wizzing through the air. Maybe when they die you just know what the secret is.

Is this in the new one?  I am waiting till it is finished till I start it.  Not that I am rushing you, no pressure  Wink Grin

Do you mean everyone knows the secret or just the person closest to the dead person?
