WOW!!!  That is a lot of good stuff!!!!   I am excited to see who the other singers are.  I would feel better knowing there are a few main actors in the set, but I think it is going to be golden no matter what!!!  I just hope they do hot boxes again!!!  If you are listening artbox, DO HOTBOXES AGAIN!!!  Smiley.  I would love to pull one of those hotboxes!!!  Although I would feel guilty seeing how I pulled a hot box from the first set, but its only fair that I get another one to complete my set Smiley  7 weeks is just way to far away to wait.  I just hope I ordered enough cases to get a crack at a master set.  Wink

My FOTR Viggo has a scar above his right eye (your left when looking at the card). You can see it faintly in the scan in the thread about posting scans of our fave LOTR cards. Its more obvious in real life. I thought it was normal until I got my 2nd FOTR Viggo and noticed it did not have one. I posted asking if anyone else has one, but no-one does. It appears as part of the image, not a surface mark. The rest of the card is perfect, so its just the scar. Hmmm....

My theory is that it was part of a test batch and they decided to airbrush the scar in later batches and do the rest without the scar. So I'd like to think anyway Wink

If you have preordered the product can they even raise the price they already quoted and sold it for???

Has this happened before?  I am sure my local guy won't raise my price on the 2 cases he sold me.  I don't know about Potomac though.

And Roz, this product is sold out?Huh  For sure (UK and US)?

And if it is already sold out (I think I have a source for a case or so more for about $550 (sorry can't reveal) would you get more for that price if you could?

No I think this will only be Cards Inc's supplies. There are a lot of complications with importing product and I guess they have had to adjust it for something they hadn't considered.

Yes, this product is sold out at Artbox and at Cards Inc - that doesn't mean that resellers will not have run out - in fact - far from it.

And if it is already sold out (I think I have a source for a case or so more for about $550 (sorry can't reveal) would you get more for that price if you could?

Sorry I am unsure of good US prices as they don't apply to me (as I'd have to add shipping and import tax. But it certainly seems a good price to me. Can any of our US experts halp here?

The $550 for a case, or $55 per box, is a good price.  I've looked around and haven't seen it anywhere for less than $58 per box, and most are selling it in the $65-$70 range.  Georgetown is currently offering cases for $624.95.  If I could afford it, I'd jump at the chance.

I would really like to have a few cases to sell if the price goes up to try to cover what I spend on the cards I am going to personally keep.
Does everyone think the box prices will hit $100 or more by Dec?

They could do if this set is just 1/2 as golden as the last!

But it's an update set so nothing is set in stone, but some of the props are sounding FABULOUS! So I wouldn't say it was beyond the realms of possibility - remember they are already the best part of $80 a box purchase price in the UK!!!

OOh news just in!

This is from Artbox themselves and it's a *bit* different if you read it carefully

Case Topper: will contain 1 Lenticular Motion Card - There will be 3 different motion cards to collect

Box Topper cards will be one in every box 4 different cards to collect

9 foil Hobby chase cards will be randomly inserted

Costume Cards: 8 confirmed costume cards one per box
NOTE: At this time we have confirmed 8 different costumes cards more to be announced!

COSTUMES WILL BE INSERTED ONE IN EVERY BOX NO GUARANTEE ONE PER BOX

Prop Cards: 8 confirmed prop cards
NOTE: At this time we have confirmed 8 different prop cards more to be announced!

PROPS WILL BE INSERTED THREE PER CASE NO GUARANTEE THREE PER CASE

NEW: Creature Cards: 2 confirmed creature cards

NEW: Cinema Film Cards: 9 confirmed Cinema Film cards

For every 10 cases ordered you will receive a case incentive costume or prop card

For every 25 cases ordered you will receive a case incentive costume or prop card

Autograph Cards

Pansy Parkinson Genevieve Gaunt
Stan Shunpike Lee Ingleby
Ernie Prang Jimmy Gardner
The Music Teacher Warwick Davis
Uncle Vernon Richard Griffiths
Argus Filch David Bradley
Vincent Crabbe Jamie Waylett
Dudley Dursley Harry Melling
Percy Weasley Chris Rankin
The Fat Lady (in the painting) Dawn French
NOTE: At this time we have confirmed 10 different autograph cards more to be announced!

AUTOGRAPHS WILL BE INSERTED ONE IN EVERY 5 BOXES (2 PER CASE/10 BOXES PER CASE) NO GUARANTEE ONE IN EVERY FIVE BOXES

NO GUARANTEE NUMBER OF SPECIAL INSERT CARDS PER PACK. THESE ODDS REFLECT AN AVERAGE OF THE ENTIRE PRODUCTION RUN. THIS RATIO IS NOT GUARANTEED TO EXIST WITHIN ANY INDIVDUAL BOX OR CASE!

So what does this mean for us guys and girls on the ground?

Well... if you combine the Cards Inc and Artbox info this means

Per case

ON AVERAGE (and it never works out quite like this)

10 x costume cards

3 x 35mm cards (this is going from Cards inc info - note that artbox have not confirmed insert rates)

2 x autographs (wow this is going to be a devil of a set to put together - you'll have to crack 7 cases just to get 14 autos neverlo allowing for collation and variation in rarity... and we still don't have any confirmation of any autos that you might say are "big" - although the Dawn French and the Richard Griffiths will probably prove very popular in the UK)

1 x Lenticular Card

3 x Prop Cards

+ the per case ratio of creature cards

+ foil sets

+ approx 20 base sets

I don't know about you but from the looks of it boxes look like they will be far better value than waiting to buy individual insert cards

Well, I think it depends on what an individual collector wants from the set.  After reading about the insertion rates, and knowing that I want one particular costume and one particular prop, I really have to think whether it's better to add a box or two to my two-box order and take a chance with what I'll get, or not buy the extra boxes and use that money to get exactly what I want.

Roz, do you have the insertion rates for the first set?  I'd like to compare the two sets.

yes it was much simpler one costume or prop per box and an auto in every two boxes.

of course that was on average .no guarantees

from my point of view i see it as best to get the boxes and trade what i get to get the cards i am after if necessary

I didn't consider trading the extras.  You're swaying me toward buying extra boxes!  Smiley

If there are eight confirmed costumes and eight confirmed props, then will the insertion rates change when more costumes and props are added?

If the total number autographs remain the same between the two sets (and it is hard to imagine them making them much scarcer) then it looks like around 1250 cases will be produced.  Has anyone had heard the latest rumours on the number of cases to be made?

It's a very good point. I really wouldn't expect a higher insert rate than 19 items a case, it's almost 2 items per box (remembering the case loader card etc) but at the same time how can they be sure of their print run if they haven't confirmed the number of inserts!

Well with 7 weeks to go I'd imagine that the cards were out there being signed, and the clothing and prop cards were already starting to come off the production line... I must confess to getting a bit excited !!!

I loved the case loader lenticular's in the first set and it's something I'll look forward to in the second set too, I did manage to complete a set of those 3 ok Wink admittedly that's the only partial set I did manage to complete... unless you count the set of one of each robe cards Wink which I don't think I could  Wink

I agree about the lenticular case toppers - I think they are probably the most underated cards from the first set. I like them more than most of the prop cards!

Smiley That's true - the Logo one is cool, and very limited, but I suppose it doesn't have a great deal of intrinsic value to people since it contains no auto or piece of prop.

I have to say 2 prop cards I wouldn't have minded having are CJD's "witch" Chocolate Frog swatch and that "Wizard" chocolate frog swatch
