Many many thanks CJD... that should definitely go in the Potter info area on this site (that I am working on) as a "notable variant"!!!)

I am excited to see Warwick Davis on the list of signers. He has been in a lot of good movies, and it will be fun to have his auto.

I would have liked to see Warwick Davis as Flitwick though...rather than the 'music teacher'

In Azkaban he's only seen conducting music isn't he? Because there's that whole "swish and flick" scene in the other movies... is that PS?

Am ashamed to say it, but I can't remember if he appeared again in the movie - too long ago! But I think he could still be credited as Flitwick - I am sure Charms teachers can conduct musuc as well. Plus 'Flitwick' is a cooler character than 'a music teacher'!

It is possible (of course) that the person was writing the list and the name of the music teacher slipped their mind... hardly likely - but possible!
Still it will have a nice pic and sig... maybe they didn't think we'd know who it was and added in the music teacher thing.
I have to say that bit with the croaking frogs and the choir was VERY random in the movie...did that make sense to anyone?

I am confused. So the odds were better with the first set? The first set was 1 costume or proprper box and now it is one costume per box, one prop per 3 boxes or so and one auto per 5 boxes, right?
And I thought my odds would be better with this one. Now, my only box of thr first set actually had one of each in it. Do you think there is a possibilty tha some boxes this time around will contain more than one special card?

I definately think that there is a good chance of more than 1 insert per box it looks like you will expect to get a costume per box and the chance of a prop auto or film card. If you take the odds of 1 prop in 3 1 auto in 5 and 1 film card in 3 maybe and the possibility of creature cards you could get almost to an insert rate of 2 inserts per box 3 props per case 2 autos per case 3 film card? ? per case (just for example) 1 creature card? ? per case (just for example) that would be 9 cards in 10 boxes with 1 costume per box that is looking like 2 per box to me

Thanks, Gimli! That really helps me understand what to expect from a box.
I think the problem I'm having, and probably the same for others, too, is that if one is able to afford a case or more, then the odds are good for getting some great cards. It makes sense to get your hands on as many boxes as possible.
But, if one is a small-time collector and can't afford a case, what's better, buying a box or two and hoping that you get something good, or using the money to buy a sure thing -- the one or two inserts you really want?
Only the individual collector can answer that question, but I've been struggling with it since I read Roz's post last night. I know I won't be happy until I have the Grim fur card. What's the likelihood of finding it in one of my two boxes? Pretty slim, I imagine.
Sure, I could sell the inserts I get, or trade, or even sell an unopened box to fund the purchase of an individual insert. It's still a matter of luck to get something with a decent value that will allow me to get a card I really want.
I hate that it's basically a lottery, yet that's what makes it exciting. In the end, I will probably increase my order to three boxes and keep my fingers crossed. At least we know that like the first set, the prices will rise for a while, then eventually come down to a more reasonable level after four to six months or so.

Okay, so basically, it looks like there will be one costume per box, plus the posibility of more. That does sound nice, but I think I am spoiled from my experience getting one of each the first time around. I am like kbmum, and I only have 2 boxes on order.
To go along with what she just said about the Grim fur, I would like that as well. Only thing about that card, if it is fluffy, wouldn't you think it might be the dealer insentive card?
Also, what I am really curious to know is how many of each there will be. Like Weasleys Quiddich card is out of 1300, and Hermione's pink sweater is out of 450. That would at least show us all what we would be more likely to pull from only getting two boxes. I might order a third, but it would be from a different place, which probably would not make my odds any better of getting a prop. what to do, what to do.

No I think the odds are slightly better with this set! But we don't know how rare each of the cards will be ! Do you think there is a possibilty tha some boxes this time around will contain more than one special card?
Yes on the law of averages each box will probably contain more than last time! But we don't know anything about these creature cards or insert rates of the 35mm film cards yet. I think we will find ON AVERAGE almost 2 exciting items per box... but that does include the lenticular case topper which of course is not box inserted. So - if the odds are correct for the 35mm cards we should have 1.8 inserts a box (excluding the case topper) and that compares with 1.5 inserts last time. plus the creature cards! My verdict? It's still too early to tell!

I said it before and I will say it again. I got spoiled the first time around getting a prop, auto and costume in the only one box I bought. Then, of the 12 packs I bought, I got two costumes. Maybe i will be extremely lucky this time around as well. Nice to dream

of course if there is one costume per box and 8 costumes if it is a 10,000 box run as suggested by lots of people then each card would have to on average have 1250 of each card to fill the boxes of course the thing is that some will be that number and some less also i dont think this set will end up with just 8 costumes I think that we will see the number increase before the end.
this is just guess work but i think it is quite a useful way of thinking about it

Gimli, you are right, if they only end up with 8 costumes, which I am sure they won't, you are almost promised to get some duplicates in a case.
