Thanks for the photos. They were a great help. It does make more sense that it's part of Hermione's sweater. I never could figure out the scarf they were talking about.

I opened one more box that came with the binder (thank you Boggy ) and found something quite interesting. No it wasn't a Pear Tree Leaf . All of the boxes from my case were numbered under 1000. This box was in the 4000's and the base set was of a much better quality. I threw away loads of cards from from my original case (I didn't think it was worth returning them) but I have finally used this box for my 'keep it' set. I wonder if this set was made in two different factories?

I think you can probably bet on it, maybe up to half a dozen places. I heard that Artbox might have been moving to a new production 'partner' (in China, if I recall). But with the massive number of new sets that they have been producing, they have to be using more factories than they did when they made 1-2 series per year. Sometimes a new production site might not work out perfectly, especially if they aren't used to slicing large sheets of carboard into card size and protecting the edges. Seven of the ten boxes in my case were numbered below 1000 too, but they all were below 0500 and were in decent shape. All of yours were between 500 and 1000, maybe made at a different place. I did see some of the two-shades-of-card backs in some boxes, which I take as a bit of inexperience in applying the UV coating, but that didn't make them rejectable just for that.

Hmm...interesting!!! I didn't think that these were made in different places. But I guess it's possible. All of my cases had "Singapore" on them. My lowest box number was 1896 and my highest was 3103. I didn't have any problems with any of my cards.

Yes interesting is the word. I hadn't realised mine were in such a smallish number range. I didn't notice any of the shading problems others mentioned but the cards I threw away were in a pretty sorry state. They were cut correctly but were severely creased, so much so the ink had come off and the card was white along the fold. As I said I have enough base cards to wallpaper the room so I was not unduly bothered but if I was still a single box buyer this would have prevented me from making up a base set and I would not have been a happy bunny. All of the chase cards (foil and others) were fine.

Maybe I can pop by the factory during the weekends.

Thanks, everyone, for the kudos. It took me 9 cases to find it. It's the only one I found.

Those are really super cards! Now you just need to find a green ribbon and a yellow ribbon. That would be cool though, wouldn't it? I need to get one of those green leafs.
