yeh , seriously it was ....
As I was opening the pack my wife said  " hey what's that ?"   ---
we had'nt hit an auto yet and boy the visions of the quad card were dancing in my head  ...

and it took the place of a regular card in the pack too ....

very strange  ---- looks like some kind of playing card but I can't figure out what in the world the figures are suppose to be .....

Looks like its part of a set of cards, like foils. I wonder if anybody else has over looked them...

The creature on that playing card is from an animation called "My Neighbor Totoro" directed by Miyazaki.

Great pulls Jfer !!!!....I was under the impression that each case had 10 costumes/3 film cards/5 autos/and 3 prop cards?? You only showed 2 prop cards, is this correct???

Whoops, I forgot to post one in my haste to get them up and then forgot about it in the morning.  My third one was the Memorial Banner 101/355.

I found from pack opening that it seemed that costumes/props were stuck in the middle of the pack and that the autographs/foils were the last card in the back.  I can't remember if that was that way for the autos in GOF, though.  So be careful when you open the packs.

I agree.  I wonder if Artbox even has anything to do with animation Huh  Thanks ECL for letting us know what it is from.  Interesting.

Is there news on a trading card set coming out soon? Maybe Artbox is producing it and they accidentally let this one slip in Tongue

Oh, that is so adorable, though! Poor little one! And it couldn't have been a Harry or Fleur or Cho Yule Ball costume to maybe help ease not getting Hermione--instead it was that "vile and cruel" (as Harry says) Lucious Malfoy.  Personally, I think it is a great pull and am hoping for one myself--I think he is a superb actor and embodies the role perfectly.

She's much better now, but you know I'll be looking two of the Hermione cards, one for her and one for me. Smiley  She also wants the McGonagall and Cho costumes.  You're right that the clincher was the Malfoy costume -- anyone other than him, and I think my daughter would have been fine.  What can you do?  I explained to her that trading card boxes are like Happy Meals.  You can't choose what toy you get. Smiley

That was a great analogy to use with her re: Happy Meals.  I'm glad she is better now--Malfoy is a mean old buzzard.  McGonagall seems like it's going to be a tough one to pull, but is one I would love as well; Cho's costume is lovely.  Good idea to get her her very own Hermione card--sounds like she's taking after Mom in collecting cards.   Smiley

Thanks Tom for the update--Love the way the final look of the quad card turned out.  Shocked

According to what I was told the cards were printed and packed in China.  Maybe the card was something else they were printing at the same time and a few got mixed in and cut to size.  I would guess they contracted with a huge printer to get the lowest cost possible if they outsourced it to China and they probably just got mixed with HP.  It will be interesting to see if anyone else gets one of those "variants".  Hey some people would consider it a variant because it was packed by artbox and came right from the box, right?  List it on ebay and see if anyone bids Undecided ROFL!

that playing card is insane lol!
I instantly noticed the character on the card (I LOOOOOOOOOOVE Totoro) and for a second I thought maybe they were used on screen? But that seems highly unlikely.

Funny that that shows up in a Harry Potter pack though

was so tired from scanning and listing I obviously missed what the image really is ...

 ron
You Know Ron
You are 100% correct it is the carriage. I was looking at the card on My way to work and couldn't make it out but now that I can check it You're right.
AMazing how much clearer the card is when You're not moving. Grin

Sorry double post, but can everyone please post a link when they reference a new card seen on ebay?  It is a b!#$&(*  trying to find some of these cards as sellers seem to list them so differently:
Harry Potter Update
HP Update
Harry Potter UD
HP Goblet of Fire Update
HP GOF Update
Harry Potter GOFU
etc
etc

I got an e-mail from "He-who-must-not-be-named".   ROFL! ROFL! ROFL! He said someone e-mailed him that he had a HOTBOX.
And before you ask, there were no details about what was in it. The lucky one said he would send HWMNBN a breakdown this weekend....SUSPENSE!

"He-who-must-not-be-named" told me this about HOTBOXES was open for release to the world.

By the way, the finish on the cards is completely different from all of the other HP sets. Instead of the glossy photo style it has a very pleasing matt finish which reduces the glare. I like it.
