I thought I say hello after being kindly directed here by gimli (who knew I also post on a certain other message board!). My name is Ian, and from what I read so far, I am definately in the minority here as I don't collect either HP or LOTR cards  (yes you did read that correctly) and am also not really interested in autos, costume or sketch cards!!! I do, however, collect Bubblegum cards from the 50's - 70's (mainly A & BC Gum). Welcome Rincerofwinds! Maybe we will change your mind and you will start collecting HP & LOTR's cards!  What type of cards do you collect from the 50's - 70's? I know you said bubblegum cards but what kind of images are on them? |

I have sooooo many questions, mainly starting with How? Mostly tho' at the moment my biggest how question is how do I get my hands on those HP Update boxes/tins/cases without going broke.. oooh and if I am only a calf where's my mommy? I am thirsty.  |

HI abraxas and welcome to the forum I see you are from Oz as well - nice to see to see us Aussies slowly inflitrating this forum - mwahahaha! Well, your best bet is ozcardsinc ( www.ozcardsinc.com) in Melbourne, they are selling boxes for $100 each, which is cheaper than buying from overseas and adding shipping and all. I'd advise getting in quick though, I am not sure they have anything left now, but its worth a go. Otherwise - its off to ebay for you Also, be careful that you distinguish between the retail boxes (cheaper, but only have 2 retail exclusive costumes and foils) and hobby ones (pricier, have props, autos, costumes). Any more questions, post and Someone will be more than happy to help you out. Especially me - I have been purported to have an opinion on everything (Thanks Roz  ) Hope you enjoy the forum! FTY |

Dear Ferdie, Hi, thanks for the advice. I tried ozcards, but nothing on their link mentions the Update boxes. Perhaps I am too late. The $100, was that for the retail or hobby boxes. And ummmm do you have one you want to part with *ducks* I am sure I will enjoy this board, which I found searching for Artbox's site, cause my laptop is very very sick and I am lost without all my histories, etc. Cloud and lining stuff I guess |

They don't mention it, I found out cos I was on the mailing list - I highly advise joining it. You could email them and find out if they have any left.

Yeah I think you have come just at the right time, there are still cases out there available for purchase and hardly anyone has started to break them down yet!
Welcome and look out for a price guide coming soon - it was worth joining up as that will only be accessible for Members (due to bandwidth costs)
