Not sure if the UK Shackers saw Watchdog last night but the bit about the photo driving licences was quite shocking.

As you will know (if you are a driver) a licence lists all the vehicles you can drive.  Well it has come to light that when old licences are being swapped for the new ones wrong information is being put on.  The old licence is shredded immediately by the DVLA and they are refusing to issue correct ones, unless the person re-sits their test.

So one example was a coach driver, had his licence for 20 years, but had to re-take his driving test because they left off the commercial vehicle bit (this cost him £3,000).  As he could not provide a copy of the pass certificate (they are only kept 2 years) and they wouldn't believe his employers he had now alternative.  Another example was a biker who was given a licence for a tank!

So everyone should check their driving licences because they may be invalid.  What a country - we can't even replace a driving licence correctly.  And they reckon we are going to have id cards with iris scans  ROFL!
