Yes thats right i am bored lol so here we go..Well i personally have a love for everything, I like linkin park, maroon 5, of course howard shore, michael jaskon, sting & the police, phil collins, Jon Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, the darkness, lots of grebby music, R kelly, mainly all hip-hop rap songs and only a tiny bit of pop but not alot. So basically everything 
I can't stand dance, garage, house trace and techno stuff.
Also i just brought tickets for the Blink 182 concert in Nottinsham 8th december..can't wait!

Essentially if it's got a guitar on it, the protagonists write the stuff and it rocks I like it. So what follows is a list of my favourite bands, although please not fellow board members that I'm not including my other musical interests like soundtracks, classical etc. So the following are all bands I recommend:
Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Deep Purple, Pixies, Oasis, The Stone Roses, Pearl Jam, AC/DC, Guns N Roses, Hendrix, The Yardbyrds, Cream + Eric Clapton, Joy Division/New Order, Manic Street Preachers (early stuff), The Jam, Primal Scream, Radiohead, The Datsuns, The Doors, The Levellers, The Who, Van Halen, Melissa Auf Der Maur, Black Sabbath, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club to name but a few.

I'm kinda like Samwise - I like a broad range of sutff. I like my share of Oasis etc but my favourite bands / singers are: Ben Folds (I have tickets for November, yippee!), Robbie Williams (I have no hope of EVER getting tickets, boo) and Weird Al Yankovic (he only ever plays in the States and sometimes Aus so it'll be expensive either way). The odd thing about that list is that overall I normally prefer a female vocalist, and if I had to classify my favourite genre I would normally go for dance / pop. Weird eh?
Dance / Pop acts which I approve of include: DJ Jurgen de Vries, Abba, Steps, Deepest Blue, Utada Hikaru (Japanese Pop), The Corrs, DJ Sammy, Chicane, Rachel Stevens, Stacie Orricco, Busted, Alanis Morissette, Fleetwood Mac, Kylie, Madonna, Seal, to name but a few...
Also moving towards the Rock sector I like Good Charlotte, Evanescence, etc...
I don't like: Jungle, a large proportion of R'n'B and Eamon.

Similar tastes as myself. but given your name I thought you may like this story. Back in 1978 (yes I am that old), myself and some friends were at the Liverpool Empire to see Black Sabbath. As is usually the case, we began in the bar where we intended to wait out the support band until Sabbath appeared. It probably took all of 10 seconds on hearing the support band play that we all looked at each other and said "What is this" ? and we quickly downed our drinks and returned to our seats. 45 minutes later, after running thru the length of their first album, we didn't care about Sabbath as we had just witnessed only the 2nd UK gig of Van Halen along with the magical guitar of Eddie VH. Wonderful night, never forgotten. Oh and Black Sabbath were crap in comparison.  CJD |

EVH Unfortunately Ed, my memory of the occasion doesn't quite stretch to individual numbers, but it was a stunning event, given that they were only supposed to be supporting Sabbath ! 1977 / 78 were quite some years for me and the Liverpool Empire. This is a small provincial theatre, holding about 2,000 people, and over those 2 years I saw AC/DC with Bon Scott (my first ever live show !), Kate Bush (her first ever live show), Rainbow, Whitesnake (got a drum stick that Ian Paice threw into the crowd), Thin Lizzy, Rush, Genesis and others that I can't quite remember for now. I've still got a lot of the programmes from the shows sitting somewhere in a cupboard. Ah....happy days indeed. CJD |

My parents work in Windsor (yep near where the Queen lives most of the time) and get a daily live show of that stuff - you'll have to pay them a visit sometime

Cool, they did an awesome soundtrack to the Charlton Heston version of Treasure Island in 1990....the reason I ask is because their music inspired one of the greatest and under-appreciated soundtracks of all time....THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS!!!!

Hi Ed:
Isn't that the truth! I have the soundtrack and the Director's cut DVD version of The Last of the Mohicans. The movie made me get the soundtrack - it is a great score.
Where I live in New Hampshire there is allot of history dealing with the French & Indian Wars. Many of our residents fought in battles like those shown in the movie and there are historic markers for Roger's Rangers very close to where I live.
