How right you are Roz!! My cat Arwen gets me up early to feed her!! Yes that's right folks I named my cat Arwen!! She is such a sweetheart - we adopted her from an animal shelter last October - she is about 5 years old and is a grey/white domestic short hair and from the day she set foot/paw into our house she was queen. Unfortunately she does not get along with other cats so the idea to get another and name him Aragorn is out of the question.  |

HaHa that was a good one "A Fellowship of Cats"!! Believe me FTY if Arwen had the temperment to have other cats around I would consider it!! She had been declawed by the previous owner and beaten from her reactions. We have shown her allot of love and she no longer cringes when you try to pet her. The Vet told us that she would have to be an only cat and stay inside as she has no defenses without her claws. |

There's one thing that I really hate and cannot stand for - and thats cruelty to animals. How someone can hurt an innocent animal that is usually defenseless or restrained and cannot defend itself is beyond me. I can't see how anyone with a shred of decency can be so cruel  I am also not a fan of animals in circuses/amusement parks - some of them are kept in the most horrendous conditions and basically tortured to train them to perform humilating tricks. They banned the act of smoking chimps performing not very long ago, I hope they can do the same for these other poor creatures. |

Yeah, I was in Turkey once and was put in the embarassing position of having a prancing bear dance in front of me and the owner wanted me to have my photo taken with it!
1) I think bears should be wandering in and out of Ed's back garden and not "trained" by humans
2) The bear was in chains
3) It was just awful!
I was put in the position of
a)should I give him some money so he can use it to look after the bear
or
b) Walk away - giving him money is only encouraging others to do the same.
Well actually I was only 9 years old so my parents were in control of the decision - and they made the right one - B - it feels mean not to give them money but it would be condoning the things they are doing - and we definitely did NOT want to do that!

I wonder what would happen if you did end up getting that fellowship... imagine the looks you'd get from your neighbours if they heard you calling out things like: 'Frodo! Frodooo! Dinners ready! Boromir! Stop it! What are you doing to Pippin? And Legolas, how many times do I have to tell you to stop jumping onto the bonnet of the car? Oh dear, Aragorn's starting to cough up hairballs again. We have to take Gimli and Merry to get de-wormed Oh no, Gandalf got chased up a tree again by next doors dog Bad Samwise! Do it in the Kitty litter! I don't think I could say things like that and keep a straight face |

You had me rolling on the floor FTY!! I could easily picture everything you said!! I agree with you and Roz on the cruelty issue as well. You have to have something mentally wrong with you to hurt an animal especially a pet who depends on you for its very existance! |
