Yes, i agree, maybe they should have borrowed a few monsters from other movies. Werewolf? Thanks, Van Helsing Dementors? *Yoink* LOTR  (did anyone else find their floating in air wrong? According to the book, they glide... and are meant to be very tall. The movie, they looked like they were constructed from smoke) |

Hi FTY: Have you seen Van Helsing? If not I highly recommend it.  I think here we have again Director's license as the scene you describe and many others are altered from the book.  |

Sure did - Hugh Jackman is one of my favourite actors. He's such a sweetie... and an Aussie. Guess those two just naturally go hand in hand  I know the movie got lampooned by critics here, but i loved it all the same |

As for the dementors, I guess i pictured them with more, how can I put it... prescence. Like the Ringwraiths - very solid and intimidating (not to mention vicious and murder-happy) but I guess if Cuaron did that, all we'd hear in the movie would be 'Thats SO Lord of the Rings!'

Really, the critics bashed Van Helsing. I loved the movie as it never really gave you time to relax. The pace was non stop and I thought really well done. I also liked Hugh Jackman's performance as Van Helsing and can certainly see sequals down the road.
I agree with your thought about the Dementors. I am sure the Director did not want to have them labled LOTR's look alikes!

I also really liked Van Helsing. Good all round action and a nice dollop of fantasy.
I actually quite liked the dementors apart from the way they looked like they were giving Harry the kiss of death whenever they got near him. But the character design was cool.

Glad you liked Van Helsing Mark - so when can we see a Van Helsing Yak and all the other monster Yaks? I also think an Igor Yak would be so cool!!  Come to think of it a Dementor Yak!! |

I would looove a Van Helsing yak! Well Mark, it seems you have alot on your plate - a Legolas, Aragorn, fellowship, van Helsing, monster and Igor yaks! I am sure we could come up with some more if you needed more ideas as well |

Blimey! All these requests, I'll never keep up with them all! Actually the Yaks were born in a book where on each page I drew a different Yak. So for example, there was a Surfing Yak, a Geeky Yak, a Liam Gallagher Yak and masses more... I got very bored in my Maths lessons and they were the product!

For forums - I think it's number 2 - an embodiment of the concept of savage 727 = a pic of Aragorn - preferably in a flying suit
