Tell Boggy I am all ears  Grin

I am really happy to hear it was a great series finale... I was a little worried about what the writers would do Cheesy Here is hoping that the writers don't spoil that wonderful ending when the movies come out  Praying  Praying Praying

Well Boggy has gone AWOL but it is more than my life is worth to tell you about Daniel and Vala.  Suffice to say though that for about 90 seconds I really, truly hated Daniel with a vengeance  Angry

So I will skip onto the season finale of Atlantis  Grin

It starts with a new ship arriving from Earth with orders to go to the Replicator planet and drop loads of nuclear bombs.  It seems the Replicators have been building ships but conveniently these Replicators build their ships from normal material (not replicator blocks) and so Earth can blow them up  Roll Eyes.  Elizabeth is totally against the idea and wants to open negotiations but is overruled - at this point there is much hand wringing about the military versus civilian rule of Atlantis that is not worth mentioning.

Anyway John is all for dropping lots of bombs and flies off to the planet and merrily and randomly drops war heads that do wipe out all the ships.  However when they get back to Atlantis a satellite appears that is in fact a flying stargate  Shocked  From this stargate an evil alien beam tries to destroy the city but they manage to get the shield up in time.  Of course it is the Replicators who have sent the beam, which incidentally is so powerful it will keep the wormhole open indefinitly.  Of course the one and only ZPM won't last that long.  This is where things get good  Grin Grin (real spoilers following  Evil)

McKay and Radik think they can buy the city more time by submerging the whole of Atlantis so that the killer beam dissipates throughout the sea.  Amazing special effects  Grin Grin.  But of course this doesn't work  Roll Eyes.

Next idea is to attach Atlantis to the drilling station (which I though was miles away but is now apparently close by  Roll Eyes) to kick start the stardrive and fly Atlantis away from the beam.  Even more amazing special effects  Grin Grin Grin

This works then something bad happens (well some things have to be a surprise  Wink) but they are in hyperspace heading for a new planet Rodney has found.  Unfortunately for reasons unknown Atlantis drops out of hyperspace and is adrift  Shocked.  The Stargate won't work (no point of reference) and the ZPM is nearly drained - when that goes there is no more shield and no more oxygen.  They are completely lost and unable to call for help .......... To Be Continued  Evil

This was a brilliant episode and will definitely make you tune in next season.  Yes there was some silly, lazy bits such as what about the people on the mainland on the planet.  They are now stranded - no ships, no Stargate.  Taylor and Ronan were spare parts.  There was a very clumsy introduction to Carson's replacement (Kaylee from Firefly who looks so different).  But totally unmissable  Grin Grin Grin

Only a few days now Wendy  Grin

Now you really have my curiosity stirred concerning Daniel and Vala, especially since you stated you hated him for 90 seconds  Huh I can't possibly think of anything Daniel could do to make someone hate him for even a second  Smiley I will await patiently for his comments on it  Wink

In other Stargate SG1 news, Richard Dean Anderson is scheduled to appear in the second direct to DVD Stargate Sg1 movie "Cntinuum". I have mixed feelings about this because as have stated before I got very sick of cosmic giddiness Jack and I am afraid the writers will try to shove a Jack/Sam story in their again especially since this is a timeline screw up like "Mobius" was  Undecided Only time will tell if this one will be worth it or not  Wink I am more interested in the first direct to DVd movie anyway  Grin

As for Atlantis, WOW, this episode sounds amazing. I can't wait to see Atlantis fly  Grin It sounds really cool and I just hope that they don't end up going to earth, I like it better with them in the Pegasus Galaxy  Smiley

I am so not ready to watch Beckett die especially with rewatching season 2 of Atlantis  :'(  At least I found out that Diamond Select Toys is definitely interested in making a Carson Beckett figure for the Stargate Atlantis set Grin

Absentee Bogleg back  Grin
Continuing with Stargate SG1...

Vala realises they may be on the ship a while. She goes to Daniel's room and he starts talking about how long it's taking to sort out their quandary - three months so far. Vala sits on his bed whilst he's rabbiting on looking out of the window, and takes her top off. Daniel turns and sees her and launches into a 90 second rant about how if she was the only woman left EVER, there was no way he would be with her. She turns from him without making a sound, but with tears running down her face, and goes to leave. Nasty Dan is surprised there was no witty retort and sees that Vala was genuine in her approach and really hurt by what he said. They  Kiss and he warns her that if she is playing games again...she says she's not. The next scene is Cam jogging past Daniel's room with Vala coming out with "bedroom" hair.
Cam is going nuts at being stuck on the ship, Teal'c seems to be taking it in his stride and Sam is still working on solving the problem. At several times you see our heroes getting older to show the passage of time.
The final time they all sit down for a meal (in this episode), it is mentioned that they have been on the ship 50 years. Cam looks out of the view port (the Ori beam has nearly reached the ship) and Sam comes out with the bombshell that she had solved their problem and they could escape but the ZPM wasn't powerful enough. The solution was pointed out to Sam by Cam in a Jack-like moment (brainier than they let on) when he pointed out that the power they need is in the Ori beam. This would activate a device from the Asgard that would turn back time to the point the bubble was first activated. The most Sam could do to stretch the backwards jump would be a minute. Sam had written a program years ago that would activate the hyper-drive in seconds, in case she ever figured out how to go back in time. The next problem was what would stop them doing the same thing all over again. One of them would have to stay old and in a protective field with the program chip. As he has a longer life span than anyone else, Teal'c volunteers. While they are all re-routing conduits, wires, bells and whistles, there is a touching moment with Daniel and Vala where he says he couldn't have wished to have spent the time with anyone else but her. The last 50 years would be forgotten by everyone except Teal'c.
With everything in place, Sam turns the bubble off. Teal'c is protected when the ship explodes and the others die. A second later, time runs backwards and the scene is back on the bridge. Landry orders Sam to activate the bubble and just as she goes to push the button, Teal'c grabs her hand and shows her the chip. The ship zips out of the way of the Ori beam.

Back at Stargate command, Vala is bugging Teal'c - who is now sporting a Rogue-from-the-X-Men-like grey streak - to tell her what happened on the ship and did she hook up with anyone. Teal'c keeps it all to himself. Sam says it must be hard to have all that information and the temptation to spill the beans on what happened. His only response was "Indeed".
The five are standing at the Stargate ready for another mission. Cam teases by saying Teal'c gave him some info and then comes out with a proverb. They all start quoting different ones "Beauty is only skin deep", "Look before you leap" etc. The last one, by Vala, "Life is too short" is met with a maybe she's not that bad glance by Daniel.
Landry wishes them well to which they all reply, except Teal'c, "Indeed"  ROFL!
They walk into the Stargate.

Sorry about the long pause between posts but I was in a time bubble  ROFL! For me, it is only tomorrow  Grin

I am so glad they had the notice to finish off the series and in my opinion, do it so well.

I really can't wait to see this episode now, it sounds so good and exciting   Cheesy My favorite part of the review is that it sounds like it is just the team and no guest stars to take away from their final episode like I was afraid would happen. I also really can't wait to see these wonderful sounding Daniel/Vala scenes  Azn I am so excited because I only have two more weeks to go before it is my turn to enjoy season 10 and 3 of SG1 and SGA  Grin

Their are quite a few I am really looking forward to and they are;

SG1-season 10
The Quest, pt. 2
The Shroud
Bad Guys
Dominion
Unending

Stargate Atlantis
The Return, pt. 2 (even though Jack's comment at the end still ticks me off so thanks so much for the warning for it  Smiley)
Echoes
Tao of Rodney (I REALLY CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS ONE  Grin)
The Game
Sunday (I am still not ready for this one but I want to see it because it sounds sad but good)
First Strike

Thanks so much to both of you for the reviews because without you I may have went nuts waiting for the seasons to continue  Embarrassed

I am happy that season 4 will start this year and not next year, but I still hope it does good in the ratings since it will be on when new episodes are starting for the local channels  Praying I want a season 5  Praying Praying Praying

I am sorry for double posting but I just had to say Sharon that you were so right, SG1 and SGA were fantastic  Shocked I was on the edge of my seat from beginning until the end for both shows  Grin

I loved everybody in SG1 "The Quest" including Sam and that is saying somwthing from me  Azn I couldn't believe she atually admitted she needed help with something technological,  Shocked  Shocked  Shocked , what were the writers smoking to allow that to get by  Huh Evil Also Vala and Teal'c with the names for the dragon I was LMAO  ROFL! ROFL!  ROFL! I have to say my favorite scene was when Mitchell told Vala that she finally was part of the team when she had to watch a friend sacrifice themselves instead of it being her sacrificing herself  :'( Also how many times has Mitchell called Daniel sunshine now when Daniel is waking up  ROFL! It never gets old.I can't believe that their are only 9 episodes left for this show  :'(  :'(  :'( just when it is really getting good Sci Fi stupidly cancels it  Hopping Mad Hopping Mad Hopping Mad

As for SGA and "The Return", I loved the plan they finally came up with and that rewind at the end was smart and interesting to watch Smiley McKay and Sheppard were on top form in this episode also Grin I didn't know how they were going to get out of this one so it did surprise me when  Plan C  ROFL! finally got shown. the only thing that bugged me and still bugs me about this episode was O'Neills comment at the end about thinking about bringing Carter next time. Thank goodness that is one small scene I can always fast forward but it was also the final scene with O'Neill that made me glad he is no longer on the shows. It's a shame he is back for the second movie  Sad I digress though, all in all I loved loved loved both episodes and I want to thank you again for such great revues that got me even more excited for my turn to see both shows  Grin

I am excited because this week I get 2 more episodes of SG1/SGA and I get my Stargate season 9 cards I ordered  Grin Grin Grin

Sunshine

It has to be like two or three episodes now that he has called him that as he was about to wake up- LOL  ROFL! It just never gets old  ROFL!

"Line In The Sand"

This one was just good for me, but it would have been better if I believed that a certain character wasactually in pain and dying. I have seen better death bed performances then that and in a scale of 1 to 10 for acting that one rates a low 3 (that's also with me being nice  Roll Eyes). However, I loved Teal'c and Vala in this but that Tomin has got to go. I don't care if he did change his mind in the end about the Ori I consider it to little to late after all that he has done.

"Echoe's"

What can I say but that I just loved McKay and Sheppard in this one. I was ROTFL at the infirmary scene with these two especially with the Celine Dion comment and the Zelenka is a better scientist then you from Sheppard becuase Rodney couldn't hear him  ROFL! ROFL! ROFL! The solution was a little out their but otherwise then that this was an entertaining episode to watch and way better then "Line in the Sand"

In other Stargate news here is some spoilers for the episode "Doppleganger"

The upcoming Stargate Atlantis thriller "Doppelganger" will see an alien entity invade the team's minds using a familiar form according to Robert Cooperwho wrote and directed this episode. He borrowed the premise for this episode off of the early SG1 episode "Cold Lazarus", but instead of having nice aliens in crytal form he decided to see what an evil entity in crystal form would do to the team. The entity is supposed to appear in the dreams of each member of Sheppard's team. Sheppard  touches the crystal which unleashes the entity on everyone, the physical form it takes in the teams nightmares is Sheppard.

"Doppelganger" will air in the first half of Atlantis's fourth season, which will premiere this fall on the Sci Fi Channel in the United States  Grin

In other news Michael Shanks (Daniel Jackson) will start his Guest Star appearance on "24" this Monday, April 30th for anyone who is inerested  Grin

Doppelganger - mmmm I'm not sure  Undecided.  I just get a bit tired of the them rehashing SG1 stories for Atlantis.  But I shall reserve judgement.  I never did get into 24 and I don't think even Dr Jackson can tempt me  Grin

I haven't got to the sad episode yet and to tell you the truth the way these episodes are going it's not going to be fun when I finally do get there  :'(

However, I finally got to see "Tao of Rodney" and I just have to say OMG  Shocked  ROFL! Shocked ROFL! Shocked  ROFL! Damian Kindler outdone himself on this one, this has to be by far the best McKay episode this season. It's now on my list of all time favorites and I am just wearing out my tape with the repeat viewings. I loved this episode from beginning until end and some of the best scenes are the following:

*the meditation scenes with Sheppard
*the apology to Zelenka
*the tea ceremony with Teyla
*curing Ronon's back and the hugs  Shocked (I want more Rodney/Ronon moments and maybe just maybe I will actually start liking the character of Ronon Dex  Undecided)
*McKay telling Weir that she said she loved him when he was dying  ROFL!

I still can't believe that Sci Fi gave us 2 great episodes in a row what with SG1's "The Shroud" and SGA's  "Tao of Rodney"  Shocked  Grin

Now on to some not so good news. At least it doesn't sound that good to me but I guess time will tell  Undecided

The following is a spoiler for a season 4 episode called "The Seer"

The city of Atlantis is visited by a man with extraordinary prophetic abilities, and who apparently has the ability to share these shocking visions with others.  The man named Davis believes that he is dying so before he passes on he wishes to share  what he knows with those who now live in Atlantis. There thing that he wants to share with them is that their are Wraith hive ships coming. Teyla goes to talk to Davos to see if he can tell her what happened to the other Athosians but along with telling her that information he also tells her he knows her secret and that she is pregnant.

This I am not looking forward to, especially in finding out who the father is  Huh  Undecided  Shocked

Meanwhile, Rodney McKay is working on a major problem. The Wraith have found a way to shut down or in some way disable the Replicators, but McKay inadvertantly managed to turn them on again but with the help of a certain wraith they ment before he hopes to stop them once again.

This information has me more upset then Teyla's pregnancy because once again we have Rodney McKay screw up while the perfect Sam Carter can do no wrong, remember "Trinity"  Hopping Mad Hopping Mad Hopping Mad I can just bet that she will also be the one to come up with the perfect solution  Roll Eyes  Which will in turn make the writers once again tell us that no one including McKay is smarter then the wonderful Sam Carter. Were is my barf bucket I think I am going to be sick  Lips Sealed Now this is all speculation on my part and this episode could end up being way better then it sounds but only time will tell.

Woo hoo I knew you would love Ronan in this series - yes I have read between the lines and know when you say 'start liking' I know you mean absolutely love  Grin Grin Grin

As to the Teyla pregnancy  Undecided.  If the father turns out to be a phantom from the past or an alien who just wants to communicate with another dimension it will be terrible.  On the other hand if the father turns out to be Rodney........  Evil

I'm not even going to comment on 'Her who shall not be named'  Hopping Mad.  The thought of little miss know-it-all is too annoying  Angry.  So back to better thoughts.  Daddy Rodney  ROFL! ROFL! ROFL!.  Ooooo what if the father is Carson  Shocked.  The babies growth could be accelerated and he could come back  Grin Grin Grin

As long as the baby isn't Sheppard or Ronon's then I will be fine. Also as long as it doesn't end up going the Charmed or Star Wars route and the baby ends up being the savior of the galaxy. I will end up gagging if that happens. I guess I just hope that it all ends up being a dream because I really don't want a child on the show. I found  Naomi on "Star Trek:Voyager" annoying and I am afraid if this kid grows up on Atlantis she/he will become like another Naomi  character Roll Eyes

"Stargate SG1" and "Stargate Atlantis" are taking a two week break here in the US so Sci Fi can show it's annual Memorial Day weekend Marathon of "The Twilight Zone". The only sad thing is and this is the reason I came online to talk to you is that I am finally almost their. "Sunday" will be on in two weeks and I don't think I am ready for it especially from the last few episodes I have viewed  :'( :'( :'( The stupid channels previews gave away how it happens so that won't be a big shocker but I find I am still not ready for it at all  :'( Jewel Staite's character will never equal Paul McGillion's character, at least in my eyes. Another thing I am mad about is that it seems with Beckett gone followed shortly by Weir is that they seem to systematically be taking out anyone who had a friendship with or likes Mckay in anyway. I think Zelenka better watch out because he could be next and the only reason they won't get rid of Sheppard is because he is the eqiuvalant of O'Neill to the creators of the show. I am just worried that they are getting rid of all of McKay's support team so Miss National Treasure Spammykins can shine and make him look like an idiot. I hope these thoughts don't end up coming true but only time will tell I guess  Undecided

Until then only 10 more days until "Sunday" premieres here in the US  :'(Shocked :'( Undecided :'( Hopping Mad :'(

I finally got to watch see the episode "Sunday" and oh what an episode that was. I loved seeing them have a day off and how they took time to relax. I was LOL when Dex showed Sheppard the game they played on Sateda, I am sure it was a joke to get even with the golf lesson  ROFL!

Also nobody berates anyone half as well as Rodney does   Azn His face also when Carson reminded him that the day they were to go fishing has finally arrived  ROFL! I still don't care for Rodney getting Kati Brown but at least in this one she didn't seem half as annoying as she was in "Duet".

I felt so bad for McKay at the end when he told Dex he should have went fishing while packing up Carson's things and to say that he was going to be the one to tell Beckett's mom  :'( I almost lost it when McKay, Sheppard, the nurse, Zelenka, Lorne and Dex picked up the coffin to take it back to earth  :'( :'( :'( The ending scene though that was the real clincher and it made the episode alll the more emotional. Poor Rodney and poor Carson  Sad

I am sorry to say that the SG1 episode didn't do anything for me and I actually found it rather boring. The only scenes I liked were the ones between Daniel and Vala what few their were that is.

I have to say for a series finale it is one of the best one's I have viewed in a long time. I won't even tell you how disappointing a lot of sci fi shows are when they finally go off the air  Roll Eyes  I have to say this one didn't disappointment at all though  Grin

I loved thatGeneral Landry was with them and even though I am sad to see the Asgard go I was happy that they got to say goodbye and to go back to the "Fifth Race" episode from the earlier seasons was nice also. I have to say that I loved the idea of Daniel/Vala getting together. It was much more believable to me and will continue to be more believable to me then Sam and Sir ever getting together  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

I have to say thought that I think I am among the few who saw were Daniel was coming from with that tirade. I would probably have been leery of Vala's attentions also if I were him, look how many times she came onto him in the ship and how she kept using him for her own amusement. Also we can't forget how they met to  ROFL! I would have had trouble believing her and I also understand how he wouldn't want to come emotionally involved with someone who may say it was all a joke after. You have to feel bad for a guy who keeps losingthe girls he gets (Shar'e, Sarah,Kira (Linnea)) and being used by girls (Shyla, Hathor).  I also think he was testing her to see if she would strike back but instead got surprised when she ended up crying instead. I hope these two do eventually get each other since the ending was taken back through Teal'c and the time bubble.

I also loved the montage with the song "Who will Stop the Rain"  Grin I have to say all their reactions were what I would expect from Teal'c being his calming self (even though I did s Vala getting on his nerves in the kitchen when they were organizing the food  ROFL!), Sam still trying to figure the problem out, Landry the voice of reason and Mitchell going a little crazy. They were all in character for me and that was nice considering that at least one of them has been in and out of character for awhile now to me. All in all I loved the series finale and I have my fingers crossed that the two movies coming out next year and any other future movies after it doesn't ruin what "Unending" gave me and that was the team back just the way I liked them in the earlier seasons.

 :'( :'( :'( I am really going to miss Stargate SG1 on Friday nights  :'( :'( :'(

Is it just me or was anybody else also happy Richard Dean Anderson wasn't in it.  Undecided I already have worries about him being in the second movie.  Lips Sealed

As for the season finale of Atlantis  Grin I am sooo excited for part two of this one. This has got to be their best season finale since the first season at least to me. I still miss Carson terribly and I am really worried about Carter coming on the show but if they continue to write like they did in seasons 1-3 I am sure I won't be disappointed. I loved everything in "First Strike" and for once I found myself conflicted with a decision on this show. I usually know what side to take but the IOA and Weir both had good points and who is to say which one was right. I also loved it that they submerged the city first then they flew it  Grin It was a great season finale and I can't wait until September to find out what happens  Grin
