WooHoo Only about 6 weeks to go

You will love the Premieres, trust me  Grin Grin Grin

Quote
Thanks for posting these reviews Wendi.  There is just enough info to make me want to watch the episodes but not enough to spoil them

I am sad that I will only be getting three more new episodes and then I have to wait until March to see the rest, AAUUUURRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!!  Hopping Mad  Hopping Mad Hopping Mad Hopping Mad I can't wait to read your reviews on the episodes when you get them  Grin

It is also sad that this may be the last season of SG1  :'( MGM and Bridge Studios are working on a way to keep it going but who nows if they will succeed or not especially with Sci Fi thwarting them at every turn  Angry Sad I hope for at least a couple of 2 hour movies with this team because I feel like seasons 9 and 10 have given us some of the best episodes in a really long time, I would say since season 1-3. Thank goodness we are getting a season 4 of Atlantis and I still have my fingers crossed that David Hewlett signs on  Praying Praying Praying.

Quote
Can I just say, and I say this in all seriousness, how could you not love Wormhole Extreme     .  Please note I am not even acknowledging that you hated it, just that you didn't love it  .  Well if I thought that WE was brilliant I can't wait to see 200, it must be amazing

I guess my main problem with Wormhole Extreme was it had way to much of the Crew instead of the cast in it and also RDA took up a lot of the story with the Guest character of the week. I would have liked it better if it wasn't the pivotal 100th episode and I also felt that those moments should be focused around the cast and I mean the whole cast and not just the supposed star of the show. I loved the 200th episode because it had something for everybody and it did have that team feeling to it. I can't wait to hear what you thought of it but I can tell you for me it blew the 100th episode right out of the water  Grin It had me cracking up a lot and the in jokes were just to funny  ROFL! ROFL! ROFL! I forgot to mention the wedding scene that you will have to see to believe  ROFL! ROFL! ROFL!

Quote
And an episode called McKay and Mrs Miller, well the title just makes you want to watch it

I have been waiting for this episode to air since I first read spoilers on it way back when  Grin I am soooooo excited to see it, only 4 more days to go   Grin

I won't tell but I do love some of your guesses  ROFL! ROFL! ROFL!

Now onto my review of last weeks episodes and let me tell you that the episodes were awesome  Shocked  Grin

First Stargate SG1 "Memento Mori"

This episode was a great episode but the trust are slowly getting on my last nerve. I just don't care for these guys and now that they have been infiltrated by the Gou'ald I am really tired of them  Roll Eyes

As for the episode though I dealt with them because I enjoyed it a lot especially all the scenes with Daniel and Vala. The episode starts off with Vala working in a diner and ending up taking out a couple of would be thieves. After the commercial break the episode starts three weeks earlier from what happened in the teaser. Throughout the episode you see the team looking for Vala who was kidnapped by the trust and it is a race on who will find her again first when she escapes them, the team or the trust  Wink Some of the greatest moments of this episode are the dinner date with two of the team members, the worry from Daniel on whether or not Vala is dead or alive, and of course the ending scene which I don't want to give away but it starts at the warehouse and ends at the base  Grin

All in all I just loved this episode but I can tell you this now the highlight of my evening was definitely Stargate Atlantis  Grin Grin Grin David and Kate Hewlett made this one of my most favorite episodes of Stargate Atlantis to date  Grin Grin Grin

Now onto Stargate Atlantis "McKay and Mrs. Miller"

This episode starts out at a house were a mother and daughter are playing with a train set when the mother starts doing a Physics problem on a bunch of drawing paper with her daughters fingerpaints  Cheesy You later find out that the problem she did ends up being something that Rodney has been working on for awhile now to give more power to Atlantis and also that the person who solved the problem happens to be Jeannie McKay Rodneys little sister. I just loved the moments between these two and just wait until you find out Rodneys real first name  ROFL! I also got a kick out of all the really great team moments and just wait until you meet Rod also Wink  Grin  I don't want to give to much away for this episode because it is just that great and to give to much away I feel would ruin it. All in all this episode was a lot of fun and I really hope that Jeannie McKay makes an appearance again in season 4  Praying With the actress being David Hewlett's real life sister I don't think that would be to hard for the producers to get her to come back because all they would have to do would be to ask David if she was busy or not Grin

Well I am back with my second to last review before I have to wait six months for the second half of the season. Sharon I can't wait to read your reviews then because they will have to help sustain me especially if the first half season finales are as great as the previews made them look  Grin I still can't believe it will be six months instead of the usual 3  Hopping Mad Hopping Mad Hopping Mad

Well on to better things to talk about and that is the reviews  Wink

First:
Stargate SG1 "Company of Thieves"

This episode was good but again when will earth stop ticking off it's allies or even would be allies. The first ones to go were the Jaffa awhile back and now we have the Luccian Alliance which to me again are not as interesting as the Ori.

The leader of the Lucian Alliance sends one of his seconds to capture the Odyssey in hope that he will fail in this episode. It ends up though that the capture ends up being a success and the second doesn't only stop their he also attempts to capture all of SG1. Carter was captured on board the Odyssey and later Daniel and Vala get captured with another trap made by him. Meanwhile Cameron and Teal'c make plans to rescue them by Cameron using the device Daniel used back in the episodes "Summit" and "Last Stand" to infiltrate the Alliance. If you really want a spoiler someone does die in this episode that is sad but it is none of the members of SG1 thank goodness. The best parts of this episode again were all the scenes with Daniel and Vala which I think are right up their as my all time favorite moments on the show anymore  Grin All in all this episode was good but I found Atlantis a bit more interesting.

The previews next week on the other hand for the mid season cliffhanger looks just amazing and I am really excited to see it. Grin

Now on to the second show:

Stargate Atlantis "Phantoms"

This episode was really good and it gave you some backstory on Sheppard to boot. It starts off with Sheppard informing Weir that a team is late in returning so he wants to send out a search party to look for them. When she gives the okay, Sheppard, McKay, Teyla, Ronon and Beckett head out to the planet to search for the missing team. They soon find a cave with a Wraith device that ends up being a mind altering device that soon affects Sheppard and Ronon like it did the team that came their before them. Now they have to not only search for the missing team but they also have to fight the same affects. This episode was really good and had some really great moments in it especially with the way it ended up tricking you a couple of times. I don't want to say to much because it will give a lot away but all in all this was a great episode. The ending alone was that good  Wink

No pressure  Wink I am sure you will do an excellent job but be prepared I like to ask questions if that's alright with you   Undecided Huh I also can't believe that they are waiting so long to show the second half of the seasons for both shows  Hopping Mad First Sci Fi teases us with a possible season 11, then they pull that rug out from under us and now it feels like they just want Stargate to go away all together since it finally did it's job for them  Hopping Mad Hopping Mad

The first two episodes are well worth the wait and I hope you enjoy them as much as I did  Grin

This will be it for my side of the reviews, I can't believe that I have to wait six months to see the conclusions to both these amazing episodes. I was on the edge of my seat during both shows just to see what would happen next and when the screen came up with To Be Continued... I could have just  :'( They were both that good   Hopping MadCheesy

Now on to the reviews:

First: Stargate SG1 "The Quest, pt.1"

The SG1 team continues for their search of the Holy Grail to defeat the Ori with Merlins secret weapon mentioned in the earlier episode "Camelot". The weapon happens to be the mythical Sangraal and SG-1 hopes that if they find it they can destroy the Ori with it then their followers will cease their campaign. The team ends up visiting a medieval-style village on another world, they meet Osric, an old librarian who keeps  material related to the Sangraal. But they soon find out that Baal is also their on the planet searching for the device. Osric warns the SG1 team that many have come searching for the Sangraal, but have died or gone missing in their quest. The woods were the Sangraal is said to be located was cursed by Morgan Le Fay.Convincing Osric to show them the map is just the first of many challenges SG-1 has to face to find the secret weapon. They must decipher ancient clues overcome a curse and even join forces with their enemy.

This episode ends at a Major cliffhanger and now that I saw the previews on AOL for part 2 I am really jeolous of you for being able to see it the whole way through. This was an among the best of the episodes for season 10 and I can't believe Sci Fi is cancelling this show when this is one of the best seasons they have had in a real long time. Hopping Mad

Now on to my second review:

Stargate Atlantis "The Return, pt.1"

This episode starts with Rodney on board the Daedalus explaining to the crew their expirement on the gates they put in place from the Pegasus Galaxy to the Milky Way Galaxy. While they are testing the gates they get a signal on a ship that ends up being one of the Ancients war ships and it happens to be full of Ancients. The story ends up being how the Ancients want the city back so the Atlantians are asked to leave and give Atlantis back to the rigthtful owners. I loved the moments with everyone back on earth but I was sad to see their reactions to losing the place they had called home for the last three years. They do get a message finally from Atlantis though stating they are under attack by the human replicators that were in the episode "Progeny". You will never believe what the Atlantis team does in the end of this episode but let me tell you this I could have screamed when the To Be Contiued... words came up on the screen just like with SG1 Hopping Mad Also RDA and Robert Picardo guest star in this episode but I thought it would have been just fine with Picardo only since it didn't really need RDA for the story plot.

Only one more day until you get season 10 of Stargate SG1 and season 3 of Stargate Atlantis in the UK  Grin I hope you enjoy it as much as I did and you are so lucky that you don't have to wait six whole months to see the second half of the season for both shows  Hopping Mad :'( Wink

Also here is some news for the people who are as upset as I am that we are not going to get a season 11 of SG1  Sad

In the works for Stargate SG-1, MGM has given a green light for the show's creators to produce two direct-to-DVD movies based on SG-1. One of the story lines according to Writer Brad Wright is that the first film will deal with the climax of the Ori story line. It is supposed to tie up the loose ends from the show's tenth season. The film will be written and directed by current SG-1 executive producer and show-runner Robert C. Cooper, Brad Wright will write the second film, which will involve time travel.

The studio is hoping for a fall of 2007 release for both movies  Smiley

I don't know if I like Robert Cooper writing and directing for anything relating to SG1 anymore because out of all the writers he is my least favorite for far to many reasons to mention and also the idea of 2 direct to DVD movies won't excite me until I find out what actors or should I say the members of SG1  in particular sign on to be in the movies. I will be their as long as we have Daniel, Vala, Mitchell and Teal'c, they are my main requirements to view any future SG1 shows.

Well we are onto our second episode of each series and all I can say Wendi is ..... you were right  Grin Grin.  They are just as good, if not better, than last season.

I have just seen the one where SG1 go to the planet where everyone dies in their sleep and I was a bit disappointed with how quickly they got cured at the end - is it just me or do they only find a cure once everyone who is not in SG1 has died  Roll Eyes.  But the saving grace was Vala's psych exam  ROFL!.  I am going to have to re-read this thread soon to see if we liked the same bits  Grin.

I told you that you wouldn't be disapointed and I am happy I was right so far Grin

I agree with you on how quick they got the cure and yes I do believe that they waited until everybody but SG1 died to find it.  Roll Eyes Vala is so funny and great to watch in this episode, I loved the scene near the beginning with her and Daniel when she said she was using his computer to study for her psyche evaluation and he told her she wasn't allowed and didn't have his password anyway, I was  ROFL! when she told him she had it and before he could respond Mitchell pulled him into the Gateroom  ROFL! ROFL!  These two are just so much fun to watch together.

Here is some more news about Season 4 of Atlantis and possibly a couple of 2 hour DVD's for Stargate SG1.

As you probably know by now Stargate SG1 has been cancelled by Sci Fi and their will not be a season 11  Sad However, MGM gave the green light for Bridge Studios to make a couple 2 hour movies either on DVD or tv for next year. I already gave the information out about what they will be about in my last post  Wink As long as Daniel and Vala are in it I will be very happy  Grin

As for Stargate Atlantis, I just found out some news about a new cast member joining the show for a few episodes in season four:

Jewel Staite will be returning to Atlantis. She has landed a recurring role on the show. She may appear in about 13 to 15 episodes in season 4 according to actor Joe Flannigon (Colonel John Sheppard).Details so far on Staite's new role are not yet known.

I have to say for the 200th episode they certainly outdid themselves  ROFL! My favorites were the Farscape spoof, the wedding scene (what Daniel said to Jack  ROFL! ROFL!) and the WoZ moment just to name a few.

I can't wait to here what Sharon thinks of the episode  Smiley It really is something you have to see to believe  ROFL! It was hard to give a review for this one because if you said to much it would really spoil the jokes in the episode  Wink

I am glad you enjoined it just as much as I did and here is hoping Sharon enjoys it also Grin

Oh WoW  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

That was amazing.  Graham had told me I would love the bit at 28 minutes and boy did I  Grin Grin.  It was so clever that they made Daniel up as Creighton  Grin  And Ben's Australian accent  ROFL!.  But all the trouble they went to with Sam's make up and you barely saw her  Shocked.  I can't wait for the DVD, there must be loads of extras  Praying

I was actually a bit disappointed with the wedding (except where Daniel almost proposed to Jack  ROFL!).  I would have rather have had a double wedding with Sam and Jack and Daniel and Vala.  But that is just me being picky.  The whole episode was as close to perfect as anyone could ever get  Grin Grin Grin.

I need to go and watch Atlantis now - I kept rewinding SG so much to watch bits over again I ran out of time  ROFL!

And as dear 'ol Boggy said Wendi, your reviews were spot on, thank you  Grin Grin

This was a much better episode then the 100th one that was for sure. I just loved Daniel playing Creighton also and I have to say he almost had the voice perfect  ROFL! The Wizard of Oz skit had me rolling around laughing just as much especially with the guys in those costumes  ROFL! ROFL! ROFL! As for the wedding the part were Daniel basically said that if Sam didn't show up soon people would think that he and Jack were getting married was what made that whole scene for me, I couldn't believe that the writers wrote that  ROFL!  ROFL! I love the idea of Daniel and Vala especially after watching "Avalon" to "Origin" in season 9 and "Momento Mori" from season 10 again  Grin I see sparks between these two that I never saw once between Jack and Sam.

I was also like you and watched certain bits over and over again because it was so funny and entertaining to watch. I got a big kick out of the Puppets and your right I can't wait to see what extra's they give us for this DVD. Did you see the special on the "200th" episode, that was as entertaining as the 200th episode also. I loved how th whole cast and crew talked about making the episode and what it was like to get to 200.

Thanks, I am glad you liked my reviews. I was afraid to give either to much or to little information so I am happy to hear that I did alright  Grin

Yep, that was the special that was shown  Grin You are almost their with only five more episodes to go to pass me, I am sooooo jealous  Tongue According to another forum you will get episodes 11 of SG1/Atlantis in the beginning of January while I have to wait the whole way until March  Roll Eyes The only bonus with this is it postpones the final season of SG1  Undecided

I have found out a few things about season 4 of Alantis that I thought you might be intetested in and they are the following;

1. Sam Carter may be joining the cast for a little of season 4 ( I am crossing my fingers she is only on 1 or 2 episodes myself because they really don't need her in Atlantis at all, they have Rodney and he is 100 times better then she ever will be)

2. Someone is leaving the show (if you want to know who just ask me and I will tell you,if you don't want to know then mums the word Wink) Rumor has it that this is who Jewel Staite will be replacing, I am not to happy about this either because I kind of like the character that is leavng and it also sounds like they are going to pull another Ford with the leaving character. Mmmmm I could well do without Sam in Atlantis as well.  In fact I even thought Jack was surplus to requirements in the 200th.

It's a shame we have to put up with Jack yet again in "Return" parts 1 and 2  Sad If the rumors are also true on a comment he makes in the second part of "Return"  from people who saw this episode already then I really wish he wasn't in these two episodes.  Hopping Mad

I also just don't see the need for Sam on Atlantis because Rodney is 10 times smarter then her in my honost opinion so anything she can de he does it better. My fear is that with her coming the writers may dumb down McKay and take away his snarkiness in honor of their precious favorite Sam Carter  Hopping Mad Hopping Mad *fingers crossed that doesn't happen*

The character that is leaving the show is Dr. Carson Beckett (Paul McGillion), all they said was that he will be leaving but may pop back in once in a while like Ford did. The only difference between Ford and Beckett for me though was that I love the character of Beckett  :'( Not as much as McKay but close  :'(
