1  Harry Potter / The Leaky Cauldron / Re: Truth About Dumbledore... on: October 22, 2007, 02:56:34 AM
While I do agree it is a way to keep it in the news.. I think she did it the right way. You said yourself that you feel sexuality is for the parents to discuss, well I guess she felt the same, and as a result left it out of the books. She must have felt that it was not enough of a real story line to include it in the books, probably because he wasn't in a relationship.. so what would be the point of bringing it up? And if we really look at what happened, she was asked a specific question about his love life and answered it.. that's it.
As far as the Christian thing goes, I personally don't think we should group together anybody and say, this is how a group feels (I'm not saying that you are.. but I find people tend to assume a group think). There were already a bunch of people that didn't like the books for wizards etc. Now maybe more wont like it, and maybe more will. I just think it was an answer to a question that was asked that's all, and a harmless answer at that.

I personally feel that it was a great thing. I think this will allow children to have a positive representation of being gay, and that it's not that big of a deal.
I also agree that, given the fact that things are "done" with the books there isn't too much point to do it now, but I still like the fact that she was brave enough to even think about having a gay character in a book that is so loved by young and old.

Hi,

Quick question.. I have 6 cards I need to send in for redemption. Can I send them all together, or do I need a different envelope for each one?

Thanks
5  Harry Potter / Order of the Phoenix Set / Re: Order of the Phoenix card set chatter... on: July 01, 2007, 08:25:48 AM
I'm still somewhat new to collecting these cards.. so I have a question. With the retail cards being done and ready to ship, I guess we can assume the hobby are also done? Unless it's a delay for autographs or something? Or just delaying it for the release date of the movie?

Thanks,
Jeff
6  Harry Potter / Order of the Phoenix Set / Re: Order of the Phoenix card set chatter... on: June 28, 2007, 05:07:01 AM
Hey,

I'm really getting fed up with this myself, but I thought I would pass along the fact that I just saw a listing on ebay that says "THE STREET RELEASE DATE IS JULY 13, 2007!"  Angry)here is the listing : http://cgi.ebay.com/HARRY-POTTER-THE-ORDER-OF-THE-PHOENIX-CARDS-HOBBY-BOX_W0QQitemZ250136902956QQihZ015QQcategoryZ219QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I had got some as a gift.. but now they will be late if this date is right. I'm not sure why they can't just pick a date and stick with it, but I suppose it doesn't matter in the end because it's not going to stop be from buying I guess.

Thanks for the info savage727. I actually found that one myself, the only thing is I would rather not have one that's been graded. I know some people really like that but I'm not into them at all, and there is also the fact that it's a bit overpriced too Smiley. Thanks again for the help though.

11  Lord of the Rings / Mount Doom / Re: I'm Looking to Buy Trilogy Hobby Cases, and FOTR Merry Auto :) on: December 14, 2005, 07:49:49 AM
Hey Beckham1,
Well oddly enough these boxes are actually for my Mom. I got into LOTR cards when they came out and eventually realized how much fun it was to buy the boxes and get the cards yourself. The only problem is that I'm in Canada where I was going to school, and now working, and my parents are in the States, and I have had quite a few people not willing to ship to me here. Anyway long story made short eventually my Mom opened one of the many boxes I had sent there and ever since then she is hooked, and the thing is she doesn't get near as excited about the spots cards or other movie cards I get, except Batman Begins but they have such crappy odds on autographs. These boxes are great because they have 2 autos (which she prefers) and a costume so she loves these boxes, even though she has no idea who any of them are  Smiley. I've been buying a few on ebay but would just love to see her face when she gets 40 boxes   Grin. I'll send a PM to SciFiCards and see if he can help, Thanks for the help.

Oh, I didn't know that. Then I guess I'm looking for the prices on 16, 24, 32 and 40 boxes of cards (or 2-5 cases). Thanks.

18  Lord of the Rings / Mount Doom / Re: Looking for trades to finish my set.. Updated. Almost there on: September 10, 2005, 10:44:31 AM
Hey,
I got an email from you, I replied to that one actually, but didn't get one about a trade. If you could send that one along again so I can know what cards your interested in and keep them aside I'd appreciate it. My email is jeff_sanborn@hotmail.com
Thanks,

19  Lord of the Rings / Mount Doom / Re: Looking for trades to finish my set.. Updated. Almost there on: September 10, 2005, 07:28:34 AM
Well I'm down to 2 autographs and 3 memorabilia cards (which I HOPE to have soon Smiley ). It seems like all trades are drying up so I'm going to be posting the cards for sale on ebay soon, but thought I would give you all first dibs at them. So if your interested in any of the cards I have left for trades, just let me know what you want and how much and we can see what we can work out. Also if you have any of the cards I'm looking for and want money or a partial trade just let me know how much. If not I'll let you all know the link for the listings shortly. Thanks for all your help.

20  Lord of the Rings / Mount Doom / Re: Looking for trades to finish my set.. Updated. Almost there on: August 25, 2005, 09:28:21 PM
Hey Beckham1,
You were close.. it's 859 packs Smiley. I agree on putting the money in though. I'm of the opinion that if your going to do it, you might as well do it right, although that wont stop me from trying to get the best deal I can. This is one of the reasons I wanted to trade for it, makes it hurt a little less when you don't actually see the money leaving your account  Wink or at the very least a partial trade so it lowers the amount of cash I have to put out. While I would love to get the set finished asap I'm willing to wait it out. I figure if I don't trade the cards soon, I'll be putting them up on ebay with some Batman Begins and other cards soon to raise some money to get them that way. So if anybody has the cards I need, and just want money you can also send along what your looking for and we can see if we can work something out. Thanks
Jeff
