www.TheYakShack.co.uk / General Discussion / Martineck Adds A MySpace Page.
|
on: September 30, 2006, 07:01:47 AM
|
I would like to mention that I've created a MySpace page. http://www.myspace.com/warrenmartineck. I don't yet have as much freedom to easily post info on my website as I would like, (due to certain circumstances and lack of time to learn how to remedy them at this point) so I created this new page to utilize the Blog feature. This I can access quickly and easily and update news, events, or whatever a bit more frequently. I'm still learning about this Myspace stuff but it seems to be working ok with only a few hiccups so far. Any Myspace savy SHAK'ers out there feel free to send some advice or comments my way, any is appreciated. So we'll see how this goes and come visit and sign up. Thanks Warren Martineck

That actually made me laugh too. You probably don't know this but I wish I had a dollar for every time someone said I look like Mike Meyers. Especially when I let my hair grow.

Trading cards / Trading card sets / Re: The Complete Avengers Card Set

You know, just because 3 big sets come out at the same time, doesn't mean you have to buy them all at the same time. They will all be around for awhile afterwards and I would think the dealers would be thankful to sell stuff when new sets aren't coming out.
Am I looking at this too logically or just being very silly?

www.TheYakShack.co.uk / General Discussion / MartineckArt Commissions and Website Update
|
on: April 13, 2006, 08:32:24 PM

Greetings, I don't normally post updates about my website but I've finally added some information about all the past card sets I've worked on. I've had a lot of emails and request about details and information on exactly what I've drawn and now it's finally available all in one place. (Showroom Page) I have as much information as i think I can release, and maybe a bit more than I should. Check back now and then as I have a mess of new projects just finished, ongoing, and upcoming and I will update as I can with any new information. Also, I've been insanely busy and just wanted to say for anyone that has been waiting an ureasonably long time for commissions from me, that I apologize for the delay and will be getting to them shortly. Thanks Warren Martineck www.warrenmartineck.com

Hi all, In amonst all the piles of "To Be Finished" sketch cards, comic pages, commisions, and whatever else I've forgotten I need to do, I've been sitting here considering what shows to hit for the 2006 season. ...and yes, I am thinking about the UK. Reading these posts and hearing, let's say dissatisfaction in other areas about the Memoribilia show, maybe you guys can help. **Not that I have any problems with Memoribilia, but If I were to come to the UK in 2006, is there a better show to do or one you would rather see me at? Details are good, if they have more than 1 show a year, which is better...etc. Keeping in mind I don't necessarily need a "busier" show, Memoribilia is busy enough for me. I'm just interested in what may be more to the benefit of the fans. If it's a principle thing with Memo, let me know... Though I don't know the details and would like to, I'm perfectly willing to turn down a show on principle because they may have banned one of my employers. Any feedback is most appreciated.
Thanks WM

Trading cards / Trading card sets / Re:Random factoid from women of voyager about Martineck

Hi all, thought I could help clarify the signature question. Yes I just used just "Martineck" on everything up till late 2001. In the middle of the Star Trek TOS 35th Annv set, I came up with the new signature and tried it out on the back of all the Kor/Kahless Sketch cards for that set and have been using it ever since. Although my first comic book work was in 92, my first sketch cards were actually for the Fleer Spiderman 97 set. I only did 25 and I don't even know if they ever made it into the set. I've never seen them and havent heard anyone finding any. So there you go. WM

This post is to anyone in the UK waiting on leftover Sketches by me that you ordered at the Memoribilia show. Just to let you know, all sketches are getting shipped out tomorrow. I dont know how long it will take for shipping, but email me upon receipt if you like to let me know they made it safely. Thanks for waiting. Warren Martineck

OK, maybe this will take some of the guess work out of this for you guys. Send in sketch requests at anytime. Orders will be taken and drawn in the order they are received. (So yes, Mid-Jan may become Mid-Feb fast.) Timeline also depends on Official work load which takes priority over commissions. I can Google just about any character reference myself, but send images if you want a specific drawing/look or if they are family members. Dont worry about my bandwith. Dont be afraid to order something weird, Ive seen it all. The person that ordered a card of Yoda cutting Jar Jar in half with a lightsaber needless to say didnt have reference but I didnt have any problems. If you know what character but your having a hard time thinking of a pose or scene, no problem, I will come up with something really Kick-ass... thats my job. For the entire LOTRs story on a 9 card page, as cool as that would be, I may have to reconsider my prices for something like that..... My printed cards, Ancient Chinese Secret. Find a paper stock you like to work on and just bring it, with a file of what you want printed, to a printer. The printer should help you out. Its "basically" that easy. I suggest not adding a coating. Too many chances of screwing up. Later WM
