Harry Potter / Old Diagon Alley / POA Update Variants and a couple SS cards for Auction
|
on: July 26, 2005, 04:44:46 AM
|
I have sold 95% of my Harry Potter POAU partial master set, so now I am posting the variants I saved out in addition to the master set. There is a nice Daily Prophet, an Unf(r)ogging the Future with a Sunburst swatch, and a Divination Class Material almost entirely covered in gold. I have also posted a Neville autograph and a nice wand box prop from the SS set and a Mr. Salt auto and Mike TeaVee T-Shirt variant from Charlie and the Chocolate factory. Stop on over and check them out, even if it's only to look at the pretty pictures. Link to My AuctionsMark

Harry Potter / Sorcerer's Stone Artbox Trading Cards / Re: Sorcerer's Stone set; odds, pictures and box/case breakdowns

I have been feeling left out lately as I haven't had the funds to buy any cards but I was finally able to buy one box each of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Here's my breakdown for SS:
Box 6571/8000
1 Base Set, 5 cards short of a 2nd set + 4 extra cards Box Topper BT3 Foils R2, R4, R5, R7, R8 Matthew Lewis as Neville Longbottom Autograph Wand Box Prop w/ Redish Snakeskin Swatch 121/842
I didn't get anything spectacular, but it was fun to open up some new product!
Can anyone out there help me finish my 2nd base set and my foil set?

I have been feeling left out lately as I haven't had the funds to buy any cards but I was finally able to buy one box each of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Here's my breakdown for CATCF:
Box 4507/6000
2 Base Sets + 2 extra cards NO BOX TOPPER - does this happen often? Foils R1, R3, R4, R5, R7 James Fox as Mr. Salt Autograph Mike Teavee T-Shirt w/ Pattern 294/305
I didn't get anything spectacular, but I love the look of the cards. Very vibrant!
Can anyone out there help me finish my foil set?

Trading cards / Trading card sets / Re: Battlefield Earth Auto!!!

That whole "We mined the gold and smelted it and poured it into bars for you with our stone age tools and skills", was just too much for me. Even though it was a lie, Travolta (can't remember the character name) bought it WITHOUT QUESTION! What a pantload!
This movie ranks up there in my top Sci-Fi movie dissappointments along with Stargate. What a way to take a way cool sci-fi premise and devolve it into a crappy CG strewn shoot-em-up by the end of the movie.
Anyway, to keep this on topic, I would love to have a John Travolta autograph card.

That set flopped (I think) because the autos were the only thing worth a box and were next to impossible. And I guess the movie sucked (that is what I heard from many people). Did It???
Yes it did! I saw it in the theater and it stunk to high heaven. Mark

All you need is a really good camera and LOTS of diapers.
...and maybe some food. But I guess if you didn't have the food, you wouldn't need the diapers either! Oh yeah, and a Nintendo Revolution. Newborns love those. Mark

Harry Potter / Prisoner of Azkaban Artbox Update set / Re: Tins T1 & T5

Yes, they were sealed and the starburst sticker on the outside of the celophane stated the tin contained 2 packs of POA FilmCardz and the exclusive card. Didn't even cross my mind that they could have been repacked. No reason really to swap out POAU packs for FilmCardz packs and still include the T1 and T5 cards as they were the most desirable part of the package.

My old thread was deleted so... If anyone is interested, please check out my auction on ebay. Even if you aren't interested in buying, hit the link anyway to check out the pics of my collection so the time I spent putting the auction together isn't a complete waste. *************************************************************************************************** Since the collection didn't sell, I busted it into catagories and reposted. *************************************************************************************************** 7/7/2005 The Costumes and Autographs sold. I have reposted the rest, some with slightly lower starting bids and they won't be closing on a holiday weekend this time (in the US at least). *************************************************************************************************** 7/12/2005 I have reposted my sets and cut the starting bid in half. Hopefully they will all sell this time. POA Update AuctionsMark
