Yup! Looks like my lad will be adding these to his list too! ::)
But .... you'll love this one ... he asked me earlier this evening - 'What would you say if I asked you for a Barn Owl for my birthday?!" *insert hopeful face*
I replied - "I'd be shocked!!"  :o

*sighs* I should've expected something Potterish shouldn't I!? ::) :rofl:

Yeah I know! :'(
Mind you ... Asda = Wal Mart ... so don't give up hope just yet! ;)

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: Morningangel-Iola September 15, 2005, 02:41:13 AM
Asda are usually good for stationery although I never saw the POA folder there :(

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: Nienna September 15, 2005, 02:52:39 AM
I didn't notice the POA folders either - I've just bought one from a lady up in Scotland! ::)
The Asda in Derby usually has the HP mugs - the 'wedge-shaped' ones - nice quality they are too!
I haven't seen any just recently but I imagine they'll be having a TON of fresh stock nearer the time of the film release and of course ... Christmas! ::)

Much as I loathe the place (cos the service is usually dreadful and none of the staff appear to know where anything is!) ... Toys-R-Us will be the place to keep checking regularly for this kind of merchandising.
Don't know if the Co-Op or good old Woollies willl have them, again it's worth checking to find out.  ;)

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: Morningangel-Iola September 15, 2005, 03:00:45 AM
I really though things would be aapreaing by now. Tell us us Toys R Us or Woolies have anything good as I don't have them :( not sure I have ever seen the wedge mugs your talking about  :-\

I really though things would be appearing by now. Tell us us Toys R Us or Woolies have anything good as I don't have them :( not sure I have ever seen the wedge mugs your talking about  :-\

Well we got dragged into T-R-U at the weekend as Adam had seen the GoF LEGO which had been posted on the Forum and naturally wanted to see if they had any in stock! ::)
There was only one of them - can't remember which one either - and nothing else fresh, which was disappointing for him ... we heaved a sigh of relief because of how expensive the sets were from the earlier releases. :o
So, I'm sure we'll be dragged back there kicking and screaming as his birthday draws nearer and I'll have to make a point of going into Woolies too, to check what they get in stock. ;)

The mugs are wider at the top and taper to a narrower base - a bit like a cocoa mug but with straight sides.
I *think* mugs have been done for all three films so far, though I'm not too sure how many different ones for each were produced.

Here's one so you can see what I mean ...

... and another ...

The pics don't do them justice - the photos on the sides of the mugs are lovely, especially those for the POA! ;D

Here, people are selling it but still have their Halloween decortations up. Most stores start taking it down and putting up Christmas the day after Halloween and stocking all the new toys.

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: Morningangel-Iola October 12, 2005, 05:46:11 AM
There's quite a bit of halloween stuff about, but some shops don't sell it. We are going the same why but I don't think we make quite as much of a big thing of Halloween.

More Japan items. The Bertie Botts box is actually a clock, they are selling Viktors wand as well as two others plus Harrys leg sling for his wand. A QWC Towel and more (also a new picture)

Heres a link to their full line of products including Viktors second task t-shirt, a QWC Bag, Yule Ball bag, Baubatons jumpsuit, and Several school supply kits,

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games

Oooooooo! HP things from Japan. I, first, caught wind that the HP Movie Event (like they had for PoA) would return to Japan. Fusae (my host-mum from 2003-2004) sent me a GoF Promo Pamphlet that had the dates for the events written inside it. I was very, very excited ... you can ask Wendi or Anna ;) I also found the link to Isetan's Event Webpage (http://www.isetan.co.jp/icm2/jsp/store/shinjyuku/event/harrypotter/index.jsp). They will have these items plus some exclusive to that store and possibly some Props and Costumes on display. The webpage doesn't have much information, though ... it just mentions that there will be exclusives ;)

Also, Fusae told me that she got mail for many items that can be reserved. She said this was going to start last Friday. Japan's WB Shop confirms what she said because most of the things are taking reservations, now ... the items with a box in the upper left hand corner with the Japanese characters says that these items are in the middle of reservation period (only meaning that if you order them online you won't get them straight away). Sadly, I'm pretty sure that the Japan WB Store only sends products to Japan. I can't be sure because there's lot of Japanese to read and Kanji that I have no idea what means.

Finally, the picture of the wands that Mike has in his post are also in the list of items on the Japan WB Store Webpage. They have listed with the wands you they belong to (in Japanese). Using the picture Mike posted, from left to right:

Cedric Diggory (thin and detailed handle)
Fleur Delacour (wooden tastle-like handle)
Victor Krum (curvy and bird-like handle)

The thing to the left of the wands is a holder for Harry's wand. Looking on the WB webpage, I think it says that the wand is not included when you buy the holder. Harry's wand was for sale at the PoA Events, and they also have it for sale on the Japan WB webpage. I think it's the same as the one the Noble Collection is selling, but I'm not sure since I don't have that one.

Hope this helps ... I'll send more information as I hear it from Fusae. I asked her to take pictures of any movie items on display, too ;)

PPPPPPPPLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Keep me posted. I really want Harry First Task robe replicas (check in the the Original GOF Thread for the picture) Cedrics wand and the wand holder ;D

I can't say if there will be anything in regards to Harry's First Task Robes. They could have the costume on diplay, but it's really hard to tell. The event will be at ten Isetan Department Stores in Japan (perhaps some Takashimaya's and Queen's Square Yokohama). They each had little differences in what Props/Costumes were on diplays so who knows ??? By the way, the WB Japan Store has Victor's Shirt (and tank) from the Third Task, and Fleur's Suit from the Third Task, though :-\

As for the wands, I think you'll be able to get them in due course. The Harry, Hermione, and Ron wands were, first, obtainable through the PoA Events or The WB Japan Store. It wasn't long before the Noble Collection started to produce the same exact type of wands with different boxes. Also, the Isetan Exclusive Dumbledore wand was only available at the PoA Events in 2004. That wand will be available from the Noble Collection next month, I believe. It's only a matter of time before they have Cedric's, Victor's, and Fleur's wands. The WB Japan hasn't produced Snape's, Draco's, or Voldemort's wand, yet. Also, I'm pretty sure Lucius's Limited Edition PoA Event Cane did not have the wand like Noble Collections. In any regard, I'm sure they'll be available in America one of these days.

Something else worth mentioning, the WB Japan Store has preorders for Artbox's Goblet of Fire boxes, packs, tins, and binder. The boxes will be Hobby versions (unlike the retail PoA boxes at the PoA Events .. I haven't heard anything about hobby or retail for PoAU). Most of the Artbox stuff seems overpriced compared to the going prices in America, but I'm sure there's import taxes, cost of living, etc to take into account.

Everyday, I look at the Isetan link in the previous post hoping for something new, but I'm fairly content with what Mike posted previously ;) By the way, how did you find it? You're right on top of things 8)

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: EmmasOneandOnly October 21, 2005, 05:17:12 AM
I had a feeling Noble "toke" the idea from Japan since the wands look identical (all but Rons). Noble has a GOF statue, so does the Japanese, but they had it first.

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games

It's never too late to plan a trip ;) The GoF Isetan Event will in many Prefectures (with Tokyo being the only one to have it twice) from November 23, 2005 until February 6, 2006.

After doing some research, I still can't figure out if any other events will be at any Takashimaya's or if there will be a temporary shop at Queen's Square Yokohama :-\

I haven't seen them either. The only thing I've seen in stores for GoF is the Quill and Pen pictures above, a pack of (regular pens, mechanical pencil, and regular pencils), and the stuff at Hot Topic (T-shirts and Postcards) ;)

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games

All I have seen is the Hot Topic stuff as well, which I am not all that excited about.  I thought the stuff they had for PoA was much better, like the Muggle t-shirt and stuff.

I also want the Lego sets (I hope they make more, as there are only 4 or 5 right now, and there were loads more before, i think).  I have been looking for them, and everyone seems to have them online only right now.

But I really want a pet beast.  If someone sees them, please PM me so I know where to find them.  Thanks!

The Isetan GoF Webpage (http://www.isetan.co.jp/icm2/jsp/store/shinjyuku/event/harrypotter/index.jsp) has finally been updated. It said that it was coming in the last ten days of October.

New Products on this webpage update include:
Quidditch World Cup Towel (http://www.isetan.co.jp/icm2/jsp/store/shinjyuku/event/harrypotter/p03.jsp) (Numbered out of 200)
Yule Ball Towel (http://www.isetan.co.jp/icm2/jsp/store/shinjyuku/event/harrypotter/p07.jsp) (Numbered out of 200)

Two pages of full of stuff not listed in the WB Store Japan:
Page Two (http://www.isetan.co.jp/icm2/jsp/store/shinjyuku/event/harrypotter/p06.jsp) includes cell phone cover (looks like a robe), Hedwig and Pig Plush Keychain, three pull out cards, Diorama Collection, a ball pen.
Page One (http://www.isetan.co.jp/icm2/jsp/store/shinjyuku/event/harrypotter/p05.jsp) includes Harry's First Task Robe, GoF Book Cover, Longsleeve Hogwarts T-shirt, Golden Egg Jewelry Case, and GoF Candle.

ENJOY ;D

I'll do some research for you in regards to shipping to the US. As of now, the only place that I know selling it is Isetan. Sadly, the clothes they have are a bit costly. The First Task Robe is 9,800 Yen ($85.05). The other Shirt is a bit cheaper. It's 3,200 Yen ($27.77).

If I got the Quidditch Towel or the Yule Ball towel, it would be very tough to use them. I would have to give it some thought on what I would do with them. Right now, I can't be sure if it's 200 for each Isetan Event (making the total number of towels 2000 because the event will go to ten locations), or 200 towels period (making each location have only twenty towels for sale) :-\

Are you talking about the Quill and Notebook set? We had a bunch of them here. The last I saw them, they were reduced to $2.00. Our Wal-mart didn't do a good job with trying to sell them. They put them in a very weird spot in the "Back to School" Aisle. I, first, found them completely by accident :P

I could buy this one instead of the Hufflepuff one I was going to get (cotten blend, 120 for lining, patch, and exact measurements) and just get this one. Ether way, its still going to be a Christmas present ;D The shirt I might be able to get my mom to get if I do my school work and clean up :D

Well, the Wal-mart here in my town must not be up to par because I check the lego section every time I'm there (which is quite often  ::) ) and still no HP lego sets!!!  >:()

(I hope they make more, as there are only 4 or 5 right now, and there were loads more before, i think).

I hope they make more also!!!  Usually there is a set that is quite large, aprox $100.  These seem to be smaller sets!! My 9 year old will have these finished in a flash!!! ???

I agree.  The Hogwarts Castle was a huge set. I got it on sale for $60 at Wal-Mart!!!  It still goes for $100 everywhere else.  And this was the only set that took mye about 5 hours to build.  All others where very simple....

They could make a nice large set of the maze....they had a nice large Chamber of Secrets one with the Basilisk.

Did anyone see on EBay that Marks and Spencers has a licensed HP First Task robe? I'm hoping they will put it on their site. Do they ship overseas...I'll have to check on that :-\

I know this seller because he tends to buy and sell Tokyo Disney Resort stuff, as well. I never got anything from him, but I do know he marks his stuff up compared to the going price because people outside Japan don't have the means of getting it ... makes sense to me. If he didn't, people would buy from him and sell for profit :)

As for the first task robe, I wouldn't know if he would be stocking them. Most, if not all, of the stuff that he has listed for HP Japan won't be available until after November. If you really want the robe, it woudn't hurt to send him an email and ask him ;)

You're quite welcome for the information ;) The prices aren't that bad. Some of these things there will be no other way to get because once they quit selling them in Japan, and that seller runs out of stock. I would imagine it to be very difficult to find. I always see the Time Turner and Trio Wands and stand from the PoA Events, but other things I rarely if ever see.

I wouldn't think any of this stuff would be available before November 23 when the GoF Event Begins at the Shinjuku Isetan. Also, the WB Japan Store (http://www.harrypottershop.co.jp/) says that the preordered products won't be available until the last ten days of November. It's rather late for us, but the film doesn't officially open until November 26 in Japan.

You may see some of these things listed after the GoF Event begins (Nov. 23), but who's to tell what will happen to the prices, then ??? They may be higher or lower. It's really hard to tell. As I said before, some things you may also never find :-\

I know what you mean. There is so much. I keep looking at the HP Japan Store (http://www.harrypottershop.co.jp/) and the Isetan GoF Webpage (http://www.isetan.co.jp/icm2/jsp/store/shinjyuku/event/harrypotter/index.jsp) for long periods of time ;D

Well, Wendi and I will be getting quite a bit from the Japan line. When I sent Fusae the list of things that we would like to have, she said that she would do her best to get them all :) This was in additon to some of the stuff that she already had preordered for us in advance. I didn't ask her about any of the thing of the Isetan GoF Webpage (http://www.isetan.co.jp/icm2/jsp/store/shinjyuku/event/harrypotter/index.jsp), yet. I'de like to have those two towels that are limited to 200. I'll just have to wait and see what we'll be getting when the time comes ;)

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games

I wish I knew someone over there LOL. But that why we have EBay ;)

I'm only getting a few stuff because I've had a Harry Potter Christmas for the past three years and my mom wants me to cut back on it

So far Ive decided on the Fleur/Beauxbatons tracksuit. Is this only one size?
Viktor Krum sweater
Cedric/Viktor/Fleur wands

I also really want the Quidditch blanket/towel but the seller on EBay is charging over $100US for it and a currency conversion on the HP JP site is only $60US.  :'(

A couple years ago, I would have been saying the things that you are now ;) Fusae is amazing ... in the short time that we've known each other, we've built a mother-son relationship. I've been happy to say that I have two mothers for two years ;D

So far Ive decided on the Fleur/Beauxbatons tracksuit. Is this only one size?

I think the choices that you made, thus far, are wonderful ;D The Flear tracksuit is probably one size fits all like the PoA Hermione Pink Sweater and Hogwarts Houses sweaters. I think those two will be rather difficult to find after all the GoF Events end and that seller runs out of stock ;) The wands may be that way, too. But, I have a hunch that Noble Collection will have them (maybe for the DVD release ???).

I liked the blanket, too. I have a ton here in my room because it gets very cold in Pennsylvania, and it never hurts to have too many. Perhaps, it's best to wait for Quidditch one to see what happens, or you could make a special trip to Japan ;) I would love to be there for the entire month of November.

By the way, I looked back and saw that you asked about the hand towels. The biggest reason use for the hand towels in Japan is for drying off your hands after using the restroom. Rarely do you see any place that provides them for you. If they do, it's in a pay machine (which I've only seen on my visit to Hokkaido). In addition, Japan gets very, very hot and humid in the summer. It's not a comfortable time at all. I seriously would get done with my shower/bath, and would be sticky within minutes :P Anyways, they also carry hand towels around with them to wipe off the sweat and stickyness from their faces. Because of these two reasons, they have hand towels almost any store that you go and in any design that you can think of.

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: EmmasOneandOnly October 31, 2005, 12:49:34 PM
WOW, sounds very interesting. I just use hand towels when I'd doing something that gets my hands all wet and sweaty.

I have countless throws even thought in Florida it only gets cold for one week in the year  and its not even cold cold ;D

I'd get Cedrics wand but I have to chose between them or a box for my birthday :'(

My gut told me Noble would be making these wands. I just thought they would be selling them separately :-\

Personally, I like the Japanese ones better. While the wands are probably the same, I just don't like the display for the Noble one. It's nice, but there's something about that just turns me off. I can't quite pin-point what that is.

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: EmmasOneandOnly November 03, 2005, 10:49:16 AM
If I had known about the Japan ones, along with the Time-Turner, before I bought the Noble ones I probably would have paid a few more dollars to get the ones of EBay. Nobles resin can sometime arrive bent, like my Hermione wand, and can had fragile pieces, like the Time-Turner. A nob to turn it broke off ::) . The wands can also have blots of paint in some points. The design is well done and I don't mind having them but I Japan ones are of better quality.

They are probably losing alot of money from fans like me who buy them to use, not collect.

Yeah I bought 2 Noble Time turners; one for display and one to wear and guess what? the one I was wearing just broke.  :-\
I like the Japan ones better as well I think and my parents said they would get me those or the Beauxbatons trakkie so I'm going to ask them to get he the japan ones and I will buy the trakkie myself.
On comparison shots, and although its very hard to tell I think the Japan ones just have a bit more edge to them and I dont mind paying the extra.  :D

Oh my! I never knew these things about the Noble Collection. After the Noble Collection released their Time Turner, I was sad because my Japanese one didn't have a diplay box thing. From what I'm hearing, it's probably a good thing. My sister and niece also have Japanese version Time Turners. They actually wear theirs, and they loosened the joints and nothing happened!

In regards to the wands, the Japanese ones that I have are bendable so with heavy use, I could imagine them breaking easily ... I just display mine and pick them up to clean around them once in a while. The colors are evenly spread :-\

These stories have made me rather weary of whether I should even buy the Noble Collections Snape, Draco, or Voldemort Wands ??? Right now, I am leaning heavily towards a no ... which is probably a good thing in more ways than one!

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games

I'm not sure who makes the Japanese wands :-\ Very good question, though ... I looked at the ones I have, and there's a note saying along the lines that if you drop it or do this or that with it, it will break. The side of the box has basic copyright stuff. I always assumed it wasjust a WB factory in Japan, but I'm not really sure. I looked on the WB Japan Store webpage, and it said nothing about who makes them. The website did sav the wands were made of 'polyresin' ... direct translation from the katakana. I have dropped my Hermione wand on a carpeted floor, and it didn't break.

Also, there have been even more additions the GoF stuff at the WB Japan Store (http://www.harrypottershop.co.jp/alley?vgform=BrowseCategory&page_number=1&search_id=1129687034756&template=default/product/browser.html&CategoryId=197). They added two different file folder sets (set 1 (http://www.harrypottershop.co.jp/alley/ProductInfo/product_id/1259;jsessionid=F574F05A1C5F9C1871300C1FDCE5C0F5) and set 2 (http://www.harrypottershop.co.jp/alley/ProductInfo/product_id/1265)), a diary (http://www.harrypottershop.co.jp/alley/ProductInfo/product_id/1327), a planner (http://www.harrypottershop.co.jp/alley/ProductInfo/product_id/1326) (I presume), and some misc calenders and paper things. I think all that stuff is new, but I may have added something that wasn't or completely missed some other things that were. All I know is there's new stuff ;)

That doll looks quite cool. do you know who they are made by? I dont know if I would consider picking them up just yet as Im waiting for Gentle Giant to release the statues after the bust line is complete.

Thanks for the information, ArwenEvenstar ;) I didn't expect it that early. Maybe, he's ordering it online so he'll get it earlier :-\ He sounds very nice ;D

I'm sure he'll be going to the Shinjuku Isetan for the GoF Event. There will be some exclusive merchandise that you can't get online there.

ZERO do you mean the towels? I love the Quidditch World Cup one. Hopefully he might have a couple for sale in which I will have to enquire about postahaste.  When does the GOF event begin?
Im really leaning towards getting one of the pewter Goblet of Fire's as well but not too sure yet. Id love it if they released the Tri Wizard cup.  ;D

The Quidditch World Cup and Yule Ball Towels are exclusives. They are also limited to 200. There are a couple of other things probably, too. I just can't think of them off the top of my head. I think he'll be able to get some. He seems to go to Tokyo Disney Resort products for each event and sometimes monthly and that is located in Maihama. Maihama is only about twenty minutes from Shinjuku (switching trains at Tokyo Station is what takes so long :P). I hope he can get some :o=

The Goblet of Fire Events begin at Isetan Department stores on November 23 (Tokyo Prefecture @ Shinjuku Isetan) and end February 6 (Fukuoka Prefecture @ Kokura Isetan). There are many other stops in between ;)

The Pewter Goblet looks awesome. Have you seen the candle Goblet of Fire? It looks just like the pewter one, but the color is different. It's also part candle :) I think Noble is making the Triwizard Cup, but I think it would be awesome if there was a Japanese version. I would do whatever I could to get it! There's still one more Isetan update in the middle of November so that may be included. Plus, the WB Japan Store keeps adding new things ...

I really hope Japan does bring out a triwizard cup. I think I will get the Pewter goblet. I took a look at the candle one as well its neat.  :) I dont like the golden goblet though just seems a little ick to me. Im really beginning to like the Japan merchandise more than what the Noble Collection brings out, lol I hope this isnt a bad thing for my wallet.  :P
If anything I hope the EBay seller gets Harry's first task robes as well. That way I will have clothing from 3 of the 4 champions. I also forgot to order one of those leather wand holders but I dont know if I'll bother now.  :-\
I think its just awesome Japan is getting all this brilliant stuff in. I was meant to go to Japan with my family next April but I think its been put on hold at the moment which is disappointing.  :-\

I know, the gold juat doesnt do it for me! I hope they come out with a detailed one. More like the one seen in the movie. With the gold cup, brown vein down the back and base. I'd buy it ;D

Me too but just think, if its made better it will last longer so in the end you get your moneys worth.

Me too, I dont think I'll buy the jump suit or jumper. Are you going to wear one, is that why you got two?

I also forgot to order one of those leather wand holders but I dont know if I'll bother now.  :-\
I am, I'll let you know how it is :D

I plan on making my bid Christmas purchase by the 23rd. The later the better for me because I have to wrap it when I get it. Moms rule  Thanks for the info ;D

Mike yep thats why I got 2 of each clothing item.  :P Because I also figured if they do turn out to be quite rare in the future I dont want to be paying higher prices so I thought best to buy them now.  :)

Hey, that one looks really neat!  I don't think I would mind that one being resin, it doesn't really look like wood anyway.  I see Voldemorts wand is now available too.  ;D  I went to Toys-R-Us yesterday and saw some Narnia stuff, but still no GOF except for the LEGOs.  ???  I also went to Hot Topic and saw a few t-shirts that were OK, but still not as much merchandise as I was expecting.  When are all the cool toys coming out?

I'm pretty sure the new toys comes out with the movie but I could be wrong. It depends. I usually just buy it off the internet.

A quick update on those who purchases Japanese stuff from ebay. The WB Store Webpage (http://www.harrypottershop.co.jp/) has taken many of their GoF stuff off of preorder status (some still have this preorder status). I saw the three champion wands and the Fleur clothes and Krum's Jumper are among these items.

I was thinking of getting Sirius's and Snape's wandss from Noble.  Is there a Japanese version?  Are they better?  If so, what is the link?  I didn't feel like reading this entire thread to search for it.  Oh, but can you order them from the US?

Let us know when you get them ;) I bet your really excited. I know I would ;D

By the way, I was watching ET on MTV tonight, and they dedicated the whole half hour episode to Goblet of Fire. Anyways, I noticed that the Japan Victor Krum Tank Top is just like the one he is wearing in the second task. For some reason, I didn't catch that up until I saw this show.

Snape's and Sirius's (as well as Malfoy's and Voldemort's) wands do not have Japanese versions, yet. I haven't seen any, but they may be at the Isetan GoF Events in Japan. Things are still up in the air because all of the exclusive items haven't been released on the webpage, yet.

I don't own any HP item from the Noble Collection so don't have anything to compare ???

I don't think its plastic because I've seen the plastic ones and, well, they look plastic. If this is plastic then hats of to Warner Bros for a decent plastic replica.

BTW - The same seller is selling Harry, Ron, and Hermione's wands

Good point Dawn ... I  honestly can't remember anything about Sirius' wand in the books. :-\
He must have got one from somewhere because he was battling Bellatrix in OotP and I assume it was his own?
Mind you, with him back in the Order and once more in his ancestral home of Grimmauld Place, surely there would opportunities for him to pick up another wand then?
Oh well ... another mystery for us ... ::)

Ive seen the little lessons and relics at my local woolworths. I thought the little lessons were really quite cute and detailed, considering the size. I didnt like the relics though they looked a bit tacky. The one I saw had a spider, the head of the hungarian horntail and something else I cant remember. There was also a Quidditch game theyt had that you can play using dice which was really cool. So from what Ive seen the little lessons are worth the price tag but the relics arent.
Also in my opinion the Japan Champion wands are better than the Noble ones. But thats just my opinion.

I got Noble Collections Snape's wand.  I love it!!  It is not real wood, but it is heavy and nice. And they make a nice stand you can buy (which we also got) that is really nice.  I like it. The only dissapointment is that their CoA doesn't bother to state what wand it is. No big deal.

I also got the Japanese version of Hermiones Time-Turner :o I love it! Anyone know the difference between theirs and Noble Collections though?  The only thing I could see was that the spell is engraved on the Japanese one, and written in black on the Noble collection one. Looks like the sand maybe brown for Noble and white for the Japanese one.  But from reading this post, it looking like the Japanese products may be made better?  Is that how I take it?

And last, I got, from Hot Topic (I also got two t-shirts from there ;D), Harry Potters jacket!  It is a hoody, says Potter on the back, and looks like his first task robe, just a jacket.  It is the coolest jacket I own :D

For those still debating wether to get the Noble ones based on a small metal rod inserted into the wand (Noble doesnt put one in their wands) I have found that the ones fron Japan do have a metal rod (picture is of a magnet not something glued or taped on the wand :) )

Very clever  :o  At first though I thought it was a new bit they had added to clip the wand onto your belt

Did anyone see that the Noble Collection now has a Sirius wand?  I'm not sure how they could have one, since the character doesn't have a wand in either POA or GOF (he used Snape's wand in the Shrieking Shack scene).

Maybe since they got the license to manufacture these replicas they were able to produce the wand two years before we see it. I think this is a replica of the one he will use in OotP but I could be wrong :-\

Very clever  :o  At first though I thought it was new bit they had added to clip the wand onto your belt

Thats why I stated in the post that it wasn't glued or taped to the wall but was a magnet. Thought the same thing when I saw it too

Yeah I thought this was odd and mentioned it before. Unless its what his wand looked like before he was sent to azkaban and therefore it was probably broken.

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: Sharon January 01, 2006, 04:41:26 AM
Or they are just cashing in for every penny they can claw from the poor collector  >:()

OK cynical moment over.  Have they done a Lily wand?  I always wondered what happened to Lily and James' wands, after all Neville has Franks wand.

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: EmmasOneandOnly January 01, 2006, 04:46:40 AM
I like Sirius's wand but I'm not going to buy it unless its off the real wand in the movie.

I would defently not buy Lily or James's wand because will never get to see those....wait....wasnt there a scene in OotP where James did something to Snape with magic :-\

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: Nienna January 01, 2006, 04:48:00 AM
Maybe Hagrid has them tucked away in his hut somewhere! ;)

Yeah - the scene Harry sees in Dumbly's pensieve of Snape hanging upside down and his infamous grey undies!! :o

The mind boggles

We saw Lily's wand in the same scene when she points it at James.

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: Nienna January 01, 2006, 05:14:15 AM
Yes you see Lily's wand in that scene too ... ;)

The only reason I mentioned Hagrid as a possible person to have either/both those wands was because he plainly states that he got to Godric's Hollow to rescue Harry before the muggle police could descend on the place - I can't remember if he arrived before, at the same time or after Sirius did but it doesn't seem that strange for Hagrid to be the person to take the wands.
I doubt DD would let Hagrid keep anything so powerful in his possession for very long though, otherwise he would still be using them in his pink brolly instead of his own snapped wand wouldn't he? ;)
Knowing Hagrid he's probably using them as stakes for some fragile plant or other in his care! ::)

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: EmmasOneandOnly January 01, 2006, 05:17:02 AM
I think Sirius had them because they were trusted friends. I dont remember Hagrid begin friends with ether James or Lily :-X

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: Nienna January 01, 2006, 05:24:04 AM
Well then - where are they now?
Surely they would have come across them at Grimmauld Place if Sirius had taken them there and nothing has been mentioned about them so far.
I'm fairly sure Sirius would have either given them to Harry ASAP or left them for him in his will ...

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: EmmasOneandOnly January 01, 2006, 05:28:49 AM
He left EVERYTHING to Harry. I don't remember Harry ever reading everything on the will....did he even read it. No, I think he didn't. Anyways. Maybe when Harry goes back in book 7 hill find them or something. What if Harry already knows. If Sirius really did die then that would be considered a secret so Harry would know ;)

I got Hermione's wand fomr NOble al while ago and was about to break but i can see a metal rod inside it so maybe noble puts a metel rod in some of theirs becauce I got Harry's wand at the same time and it snapped clean in half (Igot a  new mattris for christmas and when i was helping my dad bring it in, I put the mattris on top of it  :-\ :P :() Anyway Harry's didnt have a rod??? ???
Basically my question is that are the japenese better??? If so where can i get them ???
Thanks for your help!!
P.S I got Sirius's wand for Christmas and it's really cool.

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: EmmasOneandOnly January 01, 2006, 07:47:44 AM
I knew Hermione had a rod, but Japans ALL have metal rods in theirs. Hermione does because of the 15 inch length. Nicole (ArwenEvenstar) bought Cedric's, Fleur's, and Viktors so maybe you can ask her :) I'd like to know about Cedric's because Noble doesn't offer it by itself.

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: Taichi January 26, 2006, 11:42:50 AM
I can confirm that Noble Voldemort's, and Sirius' wands have a metal rod inside too......

so, don't be put off by Noble, at least as far as wands are concerned, the Japanese aren't any better.........That's my experience.......

Just because something isn't a domestic product, doesn't make it better.......Noble's wands are just fine by me, I see no difference in the detail, or construction, between Japanese manufacture, and Noble.......

Time Turners are a different thing, I don't know about them, but I can say my Wands are perfect.......and they're no worse than my friend's Japanese ones.......the details are just as sharp, the sizes aren't too much different (at least that I've seen.....the Japanese Hermione is a hair shorter)......but it seems Noble has taken a page from someone's book, and all new ones are reinforced with the metal rod.......dunno if they went back and did that with Harry's (I'd assume that the Triwizard Harry would have it, if it's a new run, and not just leftover stock)

There's only three Japanese Wands I'd want, because all the rest are done by Noble, and are comparable in quality.......

the only ones that were released overseas, but not domestically, are a series of Trio wands from COS (Including Ron's spellotaped wand).......all the rest have been released here......

tho Japan DID have the Dumbledore wand before anybody else......despite the fact that it didn't appear onscreen until GOF, the design hadn't changed since it premiered between COS and POA.....so that might be a good indicator of the Sirius wand's veracity......

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: EmmasOneandOnly January 26, 2006, 03:23:04 PM
I think the Japan wands are a little more accurate because the Noble one has a slightly overall large feel. The Japan looks movie accurate in appearance.

I dont think we'll ever get a real going movie accurate prop ::)

Anyways, thats for the info :D and Welcome 8)

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: Taichi January 27, 2006, 04:54:45 AM
Thanks and no problem.....

I can't compare the Cedric wands, but I assure you, the Japanese Hermione and Noble Hermione wands are almost identical........like I said, the Japanese one is a hair shorter........

I do like the Noble wands, and honestly, the Voldemort wand is one of my favorite pieces of Potter merchandise......since I'll never own the one Ralph Fiennes held in the film, this is the next best thing......it looks good enough to me, anyway......

I do own a set of the Pobjoy coins, though, and they're fantastic...

Time Turners are a different thing, I don't know about them, but I can say my Wands are perfect

I have the Japenese time turn and love it.  Although, I don't have the Noble one to compare.

I also have Snapes wand from Noble and love it.

And how can you tell that there is a metal rod in it without breaking it?

I still want to get Sirius and Voldy's wand.

Oh, and I got Harry's from Alivans.com.  It is a Holly wand made from really Holly wood.  It is the same length as Harry's from the first film and looks like the one he holds in SS as well.  I highly recommend them.  They ahve all sorts of wands that you can pick.  They also have scarfs, brooms and many other things.

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: Taichi January 27, 2006, 05:04:37 AM
if I were you, Mike, I'd go with the Pobjoy Coins, they're struck from the same dies, and materials used to make the ones in the film, and therefore are identical.......

the Noble ones, are replicas, and the finish seems to be different on them (the Galleon looks like brushed brass, instead of shiny gold/brass colored)

my brother and I bought five sets of them, direct from a distributor in Britain, for $15 a set.........and they haven't gone up much since (unless you count certain scrupulous Ebayers, who remove them from the presentation sleeve, and try to pass them off as 'originals' at $300 a clip......but most people know to look out for that kinda thing.....the only "Film Used" ones I'd trust are the artbox 'quarters' and there's not many of those to begin with!)

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: EmmasOneandOnly January 27, 2006, 05:29:14 AM
I was going to pick up about 5 sets from The Collectors Zone (I think they ship internationally :-\) for the same price (I believe)

I think this was discussed somewhere, and Mike will agree with me that the Time Turners from Noble are not really that good. I think if I remember correctly, everyone who posted had theirs broke someway or another!!!  :P

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games

I bought an extra Galleon, to make a necklace, I didn't break up a set.....

HPFamily: That's a bummer, my next noble purchase was gonna be a Turner......tho, I don't exactly plan on wearing it.......so, I'm not sure it would be too bad an issue for me......

I do happen to own the Fossil Dumbledore Pocketwatch, and it's one of the better HP items......really rare (probably the rarest HP item I own), really nice piece.......

tho, it's not exactly a film item......

Well, like I said, I think the bird one went forward as well....and I know for a fact that Hermione mentioned 'running into your past or future self' implying that it could......I just re-read Prisoner of Azkaban this week.......

but, even if it didn't, before I left, I'd get the date, and that week's lottery number's tattooed on me, so that when it finally did ROLL around to 'today' again, It'd at least be worth it......not to mention all those cool, rare things I missed out on the first time around......

Mike, ive got 2 Hermione jackets. One to wear and one to keep for my HP collection.  ;D Yeah Im nuts.  :P Ive compared it to the film version and it is indeed spot on. The material is top notch. I also have 2 of Hermione's belts which once again are spot on. Most people tend to recognise where the whole outfit is from which is cool for me.  :) I really wish that Japan will release the other pink jacket that Hermione wears when her and Harry are trying to figure out the meaning of the merepeople's song. Id get that in a heartbeat.
I also have the NC time turner and it really isnt that good. One of the ones I have is sealed away but the other I was wearing just fell apart which I wasnt too pleased about. Hoping to get the Japan one sometime soon.

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: EmmasOneandOnly January 27, 2006, 09:56:57 AM
I know for a fact that the Noble one has a VERY short chain. Only long enough to fit around your neck. The Japan one is more accurate when it come to the film version.

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: Taichi January 27, 2006, 12:25:47 PM
I'm a 26 year old guy.....

I'd feel like a creepy old dude, if I ever found myself contemplating purchase of a replica pink hoodie ......I have the wand, and will be getting an autograph card, and Time Turner in the future......that's enough for me....

if I get a costume card swatch of the pink hoodie, that's one thing, but to buy a fully-wearable replica?, I just can't bring myself to take my Emma Watson obsession that far......

and if you heard some of the things my brother said he'd do if I ever got part of the REAL costume, you'd probably wanna keep the collection small too.....

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: EmmasOneandOnly January 27, 2006, 12:30:02 PM
LOL,

I never even thought about wearing it if I bought it

I'm just buying it because its one of the only Japan replicas I want. I'm trying to get an official clothing replica for every movie Japan makes for them and the Pink top was the only one for PoA, well, the only one I can find :P

I'm not even going to open it. I'm going to put it somewhere if I can find some space for it :)

I might as well get the belt if I'm getting the hoodie. Maybe if I ever meet Emma Watson I'll get her to sign it. I'm sure nobody on with forum will really think its funny that I have it then ;)

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: Taichi January 27, 2006, 12:39:50 PM
if I had the room, I'd get a mannequin, and outfit it in her POA costume, and give it the wand, and Timeturner to wear.....

and every night before I went to bed, I'd smell 'her' hair.......

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: EmmasOneandOnly January 27, 2006, 12:48:38 PM
Now thats obsessive...and I'd do that

But I'm fine with just the hoodie and belt, plus I'd have to hut down the company that made the pants and get an identical pair of jeans she wore in the movie ;)

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games

IT PUTS THE LOTION ON ITS SKIN....

okay, that's a little TOO far....heh...

Lucky me, I'm a Fred and George Fan......there's not much out there, and what there is, is cheap!

tho, I'm also a Dumbledore fan, and some items can get kinda pricey.....luckily I got his watch before it got TOO expensive.......I'd hate to have to pay $900 for it.....

Im a fan of pretty much everyone. I bought the replica clothing line because I really wasnt impressed with the Hot Topic stuff like the Hoggies track jacket. I mean theyre good but even if I wear my pink jacket it isnt instantly recogniseable from Harry Potter and its good to have something a little more subtle I think. Though at the GOF premier I had a few people come up to me after the movie asking where my Beauxbatons track jacket was from.  :P I buy two of each so one set can stay pristine for future years I guess.
Im hoping to get the trio's wands by Japan and NC next week, but right now Ive just paid for the set of Dumbledore and Snape busts by Gentle Giant which I hope are going to be pretty cool.
The most prized posession I own from HP is one of the envelopes used in the first film, Philosopher's Stone. Its in a plastic display with a mirror backing and set me back around $750 but its the most awesome piece of Potter memorabilia I own.  :D I didnt want to risk buying a fake from EBay so I spent the extra to make sure its the real deal. It looks like this:

I'm more of a replica guy. I have the cards so I really don't care about buying an intact piece.

I'm still trying to get my mom to let me sell my Noble wands because I want to get the Japan wands but ::) You know parents :P

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games
: ArwenEvenstar January 27, 2006, 01:44:13 PM
Haha spot on Mike, I know exactly what parents are like.  :P  ::)
Oh yeah dont get me wrong I love the prop cards as well, but I just thought this would be pretty cool to have. Its more the memories I have really. The first screencap of the film I ever saw was when harry was reaching for one of the acceptance letters, so thats my main reason for getting this. I dont own anything else used in the films because I reckon its better to get a greater variety with the prop and costume cards.  ;D
Mike, you should keep your NC wands and save up for the Japan wands. Then you can have a set of each.  :)

Also another thing Id highly recommend is the Durmstrang Dark Arts Messenger bag from WB Shop. I got this as a bit of a belated Chrissie pressie and its the best bag I own. Its huge and you can store a superflous amount of things in there, it also has an iPod holder and mobile phone case. Its really lovely and very good quality.  ;D

: Re: New GOF Toys and Games

The first screen shot I ever saw was the scene where Hermione asks have Harry and Ron seen a toad ;D

Dont get me, wrong I'd love to have on but....

I'd rather have the Japan ones so I guess will see soon :)

I really want that one, sounds like it beats out the Hottopic "Voldemort Returns" Bag 8)

bah, I'm tellin' ya Mike, the Noble Wands are just as good!

but to each his own, I s'pose........

Yeah I reckon its made of tougher stuff. The bag is canvas and the stitching of the Durmstrang logo is pretty cool. Theres a felt HP logo on the inside of the bag and like a cool faux bronze HP bag clip. Whats the hot topic one made from? Its a pity we dont get a hot topic here in Australia.  :-\
Oh yeah the Tonner dolls look pretty cool. Id love Yule Ball harry but Ive got to pick and choose what I collect. I just hope I made the right choice getting the busts.  :-X

Gambon's isn't much better, and I'll be lucky if I get a good price for Oldman's and Thewlis', but at least I ain't trying to track down a Radcliffe, or Triple Auto!

I just wish there had been more GOF toys, and I certainly hope that the Gentle Giant Statues continue.......

Taichi, GG announced that the statues wont be made. The only statue being produced will be the Hungarian Horntail. Im not happy about that but at least the Horntail statue is cool.  :P

The chain on the Japan time turner is not that long.  It fits around my neck, but i couldn't fit it around mine and someone elses like Hermione does in the movie. Although, I swear for that one scene the must lengthen the chain because you see it on her in other scenes and it is not that long.  But I guess the Japan version is still longer than NC.  Anyone know if you can buy the display case somewhere seperately?

I am still dying to get one of the Pet Beasts from GoF, but no one seems to have them.  Any ideas?

I also have a Hedwig pin from NC that I like very much.  And yes Mike, I agree that the NC wands are very nice.  I love my Snape one.  it is a very heavy wand actually.  I want to get Sirius next....

And stay tuned for another thread some day on my collection of HP Legos.  My husband and I are going to put them all on our kitchen table one day (they won't all fit) and take pictures of them all to share with you.  My newest is the Durmstrang ship, and it is amazing.  I think I have two of the 4 left to get from the GoF ones (wich they made more) but we have so many it is like Hogwarts on our table when we set it up.  We took it down to make room for boxes to be opened.  Now we will set it up again....until the Update comes out.
