: Revenge of the shippers *possible spoiler*

I know that 'shipping' is popular, but isn't this taking it just a little too seriously?

I love Mugglenet, it was the first Potter site I went to when I started getting into the series and I have found it to be a wonderful site. One of my fave features is the 'Wall of Shame' where particularly amusing hate mail is posted. They have just released a 'special edition' WoS to accomodate some of the more rabid Harry/Hermione shipper comments following the romance revelations of HBP.

Here is the site that Emerson was crucified on - if you need a laugh, read this, it is freaking hilarious!

I particularly laughed at
What I'm talking about here is your responsibility to care about what your fans think and feel. Our money went into your pocket and our love went out to you for years, just the same as your beloved little R/Hr, H/G shippers. You need to not only acknowledge what you've done to so many of your fans but you need to own up to the fact that you were wrong to allow us to hope and believe for years at a time when you could have nipped it in the bud from the start without giving away your ultimate plot. It was cowardly of you to sink our ship with the Half-Blood Prince, and then insult us with your interview with Emerson and Melissa instead of on your website like you have with so many other ships that you knew wouldn't happen. No wonder so many of your fans have a negative view of you now, you've earned it.

I could see Ron/Hermione from PoA and I knew Harry would be going for Ginny eventually - was it really that unobvious? Betcha JKR is shaking in her boots!

To quote Emerson: 'Delusional!'

I am now off to work out whether I am a Harmony shipper, a r/h or h/g shipper

Good grief, what's wrong with these people?  It's just a book!  And JKR was right, the hints were anvil size.

Being a non-Enlish speaker (USA- It took me 6 books to find out just what the heck snogging was.) is shipping some Brit term that means something not to obvious to a non-English speaker?

Don't worry I am a Brit and didn't know what shipping was.  Apparently it is short for relationship and it is where readers pair up characters romantically.  When I read any book or see any long term series I tend to think 'mmm they would be good together' but I would never get the hump when I am wrong.

But I am sooooo pleased I have been introduced to the world of shipping.  I now trawl HP websites looking for the most outrageous - they are hysterical   My favourite at the moment are the Snape / Sirius shippers

It was very obvious about Ron and Hermione especally in Goblet, or was that just me :-\

:-* Snogging  :-* I knew, but the "ship" thing I didn't.  I think it was Dawn that clued me in on a different thread.

I did indeed have a lesson in 'shipping' ;)

Is it me or does the Harry in my avi look ill? ???

If you didn't spot Ron's jealousy (and concluded that he felt something for her) after Hermione got with Krum in GoF, you really need to be hit around the head with an anvil

Forgive me if I am wrong, but in not one of the 6 books does Harry express any romantic twinges towards Hermione at all, beyond thinking how pretty she looked at the Yule ball, but then again, even Malfoy was gobsmacked at her apperance ;) So can they really complain that the clues were not there (not that they can really do so anyway).

Methinks JKR would do well to lose these loonies from her readership...

I have to be honest I thought the Harry Hermione Ron thing could have gone either way (except the Ron Harry way  ::) )  I think a bit of mis-direction in the books is what makes them interesting; if JKR told us everything in the first book why would anyone buy the other 6?

Besides, in all the best novels you have a will they / won't they moment.  One of my favourite books is Emma by Jane Austin.  Throughout the whole book you are lead to believe one person will end up with another, and then you find out you are wrong all along  ;D  I think that some of the younger generation need to read a few Sherlock Holmes / Agatha Christie novels.  Half the fun is in the guessing and finding out you were wrong  ^-^

That is SO HILLARIOUS!  How long has it been since everyone read the book, and these people still aren't over it yet?  They need to get out and sociallize some instead of getting so wrapped up in the romantic storys of two FICTIONAL teenagers.   The signer named Peace has the words Immoral and Inappropriate confused.  ::)
