Well an auto was good but it was the one that I wanted LEAST  :'( The wrapper prop card is nice, has part of a W in it. Im a bit disappointed but of course unless I pulled a depp, highmore, lee, or bonham-carter auto I was destined to be disappointed cause they are what I most wanted from this set!!

A little disappointing to only get 2 new pulls out of 16 cards :P

So basically in summary only  28 out of 60 were different.  (of course the first 15 from case one were not able to be repeats)

In other words out of the 2nd 3rd and 4th cases there were only 13 out for 45 that were different >:() over 60% repeats :P

pity about the repeats, but congrats on the Depp auto!  ;D

Thats not too good, it really hinders your ability to get a good set and is just a pain really!! Not very good corelation, little variations between cases is a disappointment  :(

Those )*$&#*(##@!^ oompa loompas, they really need to mix up the cards before they put them in the pack >:()  :rofl:

 I've always subscribed to the idea that if you get say multiple cases from the same lot they are more likely to have a better variety.  I have always thought that maybe they have all these cards and intermix them so they will not have a bunch of dups in a row.  Same theory as if you get a case you shouldn't get repeats of the inserts in the case, although I realize some of the cards #'d to 550 for example are going to fall about 1 per case in a 600 case run.  But how do you get 5 of the same costumes in 2 consecutive cases as well as 5 of the same auto's from consecutive cases.  Next thing you know they need to start #ing cases #1-600.

I am so happy I don't even feel like posting my case breakdown....

I pulled a Freddy Highmore auto AND The Wrapping Paper prop card 42/72 out of my final case. Last box to! I let my dad open the prop pack and I glanced over and thought I saw the photo of the Bucket household around the table and was like dang just another tablecloth again? easiest prop to pull, of course. He goes "It doesn't really look like a tablecloth, it looks different than the one we pulled from the first case" as he turned it around to check the numbers I knew it was the one prop I wanted to find (next to the golden ticket of course) So i had 4 more packs left and I was getting worried that my second case would only have four autographs and in the VERY LAST pack I see the white as I am slowly going through the cards, once I started seeing green and that nice script writing I about jumped for joy.

Talk about luck. My friend and I walked into my LCS today. I let him buy the last remaining Charlie box since i had already bought a case. He went about 8 packs in on the left side of the box, and out came 2 Johnny Depp autos back to back :o :o ;D :o :o. Even though it was my friend, i felt pretty bad, but my friend said he will give me a good deal on the second one. So i might get my depp after all, next up Golden Ticket :o=.

John you must be the luckiest person I have ever heard of. 4 Depps in 6 cases.  I would suspect the depp odds are like 1 in 5 or 6 cases.  Although it is great to get a case or box with two depps as posted, I think it sucks for others that they can't spread it out a little better. 

I auctually got 2 Christopher Lees in 1 cases (only 4 auto's in the case but with 2 Lees can't be disappointed), once again great for me, but that much harder for others to get.  I just don't understand why artbox can't make the rare or shortprinted cards fall (1 per case for instance).  Lets just assume there are 600 short printed auto's.  There has to be a way to make these auto's fall one per case (maybe not completely perfect, but damn near close).  If other manufacturers can do it......people should have something to look forward to when opening their case.  We all know you pretty much are going to get a tablecloth card in almost every case, or Wand box, or Fluffy's Fur, or Hagrid. YOu get the idea, I am sure most would agree they didn't get too many cases that didn't have at least one of those cards in it.  Well considering Artbox has become much better at collation each release, I guess there is hope.

 

Beck, I got 25 cases. I just loaded them brought them to my storage facility and unloaded them. Then went back after I got done with all of the "honey-do list" that my wife gave me and just picked out ten cases to take home. Then I unloaded them and, as they say the rest is history. The cases were shuffled around so much that even if they were collated I'm sure I got them all uncollated. Just the luck of the draw. Who knows, the other 19 cases may not have a single JD auto in them. But I'm now looking for the Golden Ticket. Any bets...... :rofl:

Well if there are 18 golden tickets....1 in 33 cases approx....you better buy 8 more :rofl:  Of course there probably is a case out there with all 5 prop cards being golden tickets >:()

I would imagine that you will still get some more depps!  Hopefully a few Highmores and Lees too.  I am sure you will get enough Deep Roy, Auggie Gloop's and Mike T's to make you sick of them! :rofl:

My Depp:Gloop ratio is 4:6. I hope it holds.  :rofl:

Has anyone found a lot of mis-cut cards? I have accumulated about half a box of really terrible examples. I've never seen this many in the other ARTBOX sets.

likorish i know exactly wut you are talking about. i have probably about 6 packs "preopened" in my sealed case in one of the boxes. also i found one packs stuffed o the max with about 15-20 cards stuffed inside of it. also tons and tons of miscut cards and shreds of cards inside the packs. what is artboxes policy on this kind of issue??? has anyone ever been compensated here by Artbox, for either miscut or damaged insert cards?? do they send out replacements like Topps?

They have a department called "Damage Replacement". I sent 2 SS FilmCards to them via certified mail. It was signed for on 6-6-2005. I imagine they are real busy, because I still have not received the replacements. When I finish opening all of my packs, I'll send them the lot. I did receive 3 boxes without Box Toppers and Two boxes with only 23 packs. One box did have 25 packs.

To those of us who don't buy the boxes/cases of cards it doesn't sound like much is missing, but when you're talking several cases with stuff missing/damaged then it really adds up - you aren't able to collate the base sets or chase cards not to mention the fact that you don't get your proper allocation of inserts either - it's SO annoying! >:()

Hope you get something decent back when you send them in as I know you've spent a good deal of money on this particular set John. ;)

Mmmmmmmmmmmm yes I think you should keep the abruptly wrapping paper :) although they are all nice ones.

Those are great looking cards.  Do you ever sell your extras on ebay?  Not that I can get the wrapping paper, but just wondering.

I am going to put some stuff on ebay. However, I don't "tout" ( I mean that in a friendly way.) here on the FORUM because I've seen that SOME people seem to be offended.  I don't want the members thinking that I'm using the FORUM for personal gain. That's also why I don't post my ebay ID on the FORUM. I've been an ebay member since 1998 and I have 100% positive feedback. I am considering using private auctions as well because of these same reasons, unless its for very common things like chase sets and base card sets and low priced items.

HERE is an example of an ebay hassle: (Buyers name not provided of course.)

"Had no luck on my visit to my local post office on Saturday. It is becoming more and more apparent that these cards have been lost in the mail. While I did not make use of the insurance option you offered in your listing, your listing did not specifically state that you would not be liable in the event of loss or damage during shipment. I can't think of a single business in this country which would expect me to pay for something I have not received. I also recognize you shipped the cards in good faith and have provided me with proof of mailing. I wonder if you might be willing to split the difference for this failed transaction and refund half of what I have paid for the cards and shipping. This is maddening, but I have had to replace a few things myself over the years, I have to admit that when I see written in people's auctions that they can't be accountable for folk's loss in the post I do get slightly put off an auction. Although if that's balanced out with a " we will get proof of posting upon dispatch" then I'd be ok.

Anyway - part of the reason you should consider touting an auction or two here is because we might get mad at you if we miss some of those nice variants going up on ebay ;)

Just to follow up on this. I got the package back from the post office. It had been held at the PO for the person to pick up and had PO markings indicating that they had left 2 notices for him to pick it up at the PO. It was too big to fit the letter slot. Geez, the nerve of some people. I emailed the person that I had received the package and sent him scans of the PO markings. No response.

Pffft... well its their loss if they don't respond - you've tried to get in contact with them for something that is their own mistake and I don't think that you can (or should have to) do any more for them.

Plus you have half of their payment, and it serves them right of they don't get it back - surely there is a clause somewhere that says that people should be made to pay for stupidity. Or there should be ::)

That was a bad break on your case RoscoLabri. :(  I cracked two cases and my best auto was a David Kelly (currently being sold at $39.99 BIN on eBay) :-\  I was lucky though, I managed to pull a Wrapping Paper prop from my second case. ;D  If I didn't pull that one, I'd have been extremely disappointed.

thing is, I don't know if I should get a 2nd case and chance my luck again, or just buy the prop/costume/auto cards from ebay...

Depends! Are you willing to take the chance and buy another case and possibly lose some money or do you want to use the money and get all the great props that might not be in the case :-\

Mike's right.  In the long run, it'll be cheaper just to get the individual cards you need off of eBay.  That way you won't get any duplicates. ;)  When you buy boxes of Charlie, aside from the thrill of pack-opening, you're basically buying a chance at getting one of the rare cards (i.e. Depp Auto, Golden Ticket, Wrapping Paper and Mr Salt's Tie), but it's a slim chance. :-\.
