Charlie Bucket comes from a poor family, and spends most of his time dreaming about the chocolate that he loves but usually can't afford. Things change when Willy Wonka, head of the very popular Wonka Chocolate empire, announces a contest in which five gold tickets have been hidden in chocolate bars and sent throughout the country. The kids who find the tickets will be taken on a tour of Wonka's chocolate factory and get a special glimpse of the wonders within. Charlie miraculously finds a ticket, along with four other children much naughtier than him. The tour of the factory will hold more than a few surprises for this bunch. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v235/Roz_qmw/CharlieCFSticardsSS.jpg) : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Trey March 03, 2005, 04:39:48 AM Are they doing a normal set with autos/costumes/props?......that would be fantastic!!! All I can say is...
JOHNNY DEPP AUTO!!!! YESSS PLEASE ;D I would love to see a collectors set of this, the prop cards they could have would be fantastic, and there would be some great costumes in there! : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ferdinand_the_yak March 03, 2005, 04:56:08 AM Ah - Johnny Depp auto! ;D
Who is Dr Wilbur Wonka???? definitely not in the book, but given the fact that Chris Lee is playing him, I assume that he is going to be Wonka's father? Inter-esting ;) : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Morningangel-Iola March 03, 2005, 04:58:46 AM Sounds interesting this sticards thingy. But I never really understood why they had to remake Charlie and The chocolate factory. But then Johnnys in it so I bet it will be good.
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Boggle March 03, 2005, 05:06:06 AM Johnny Depp and Christopher Lee! Surely it cant fail! I'd also love a proper set with autos etc
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz March 03, 2005, 02:12:46 PM Yep Artbox are doing a "normal" set
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : mcgonagall March 03, 2005, 05:09:13 PM When does the movie come out as i have heard nothing about it
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Trey March 04, 2005, 06:36:02 AM Erm I think it comes out Mid to Late 2005.....not sure on exact date.
Artbox better make this a quality set then.....If there is a Johnny Depp auto then I can guarantee that I will buy at least a couple of boxes!!! I want to see some great costume cards too, I think they can be really good...there is definately serious potential with this set! : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ferdinand_the_yak March 04, 2005, 06:38:24 AM I want a mint grass prop - or any prop from the chocolate room for that matter!
Mmmmmmmmm......... ;D : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Morningangel-Iola March 04, 2005, 06:39:54 AM Edable trading cards.
Umm maybe not such a good idea :-\ : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Trey March 04, 2005, 06:50:27 AM haha no not a good idea at all......although, if you resist temptation your card will be a rariety cause all the others will have been eaten ;)
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ferdinand_the_yak March 15, 2005, 03:58:20 PM *Squeals like a little kid*
(http://i8.ebayimg.com/01/i/03/a1/c4/7a_1_b.JPG) Is that a Johnny Depp auto I see? ::) *continues squealing* : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz March 15, 2005, 04:50:59 PM Yes - everyone is partially excited!
Why? Well I don't know that Artbox have all the cards in hand signed... we shall have to see - apparently he promised Inkworks a long time ago he would sign for them and they got as far as putting redemption cards in a set I believe... but we shall have to hold our breath - let's ask Mike if they have them all in hand, it can do no harm : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ferdinand_the_yak March 15, 2005, 08:33:52 PM And only 10 years ago, I was happy with just the book!
Ah, the long hours spent dreaming of what Wonka goodies I would buy if they really existed... yuuuuuuuuuuum! What wouldn't I give to have a lifetime's supply of Wonka lollies... :D : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Luluhime March 15, 2005, 10:16:33 PM Ooooo I can't wait till this set comes out! Personally, the JD auto will be top of my list ;D ;D
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v185/luluhime/charlieautocard.jpg) The film is due out July 2005 btw ;) : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz March 15, 2005, 10:43:47 PM Even if Johnny does look like a madman in the trailer I have to say the auto looks cool :)
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : saruman March 16, 2005, 12:49:04 AM it really would be a cool auto to get. a bit expensive though i'd say
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : zero March 16, 2005, 07:54:57 AM I'm a huge Tim Burton Fan (as if you couldn't tell) so I'll definitetly be working on getting this set with or without the Depp Auto (althought it would be much happier to have his, he is Willy Wonka afterall) ;D
How many sets can one person own (edit: or try to own)? :-\ : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Trey March 16, 2005, 08:32:47 AM AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YESSSSS!!! ;D
WOO HOO My dream has become a reality!!! Oh im buying 10 cases :o well no, but I can only dream further!! :P Well I must say i am quite happy *joins FTY in squealing like a kid* that there will be a Johnny Depp auto. Depp and Tim Burton agreed to sign for Sleepy Hollow, and redemption cards were included with that set but in the end they did not sign so the redemption cards were void. Sooo hopefully there are no redemptions but the actual autos this time!! But, checking out the photo, it looks like they will be included in the packs if he has already signed at least one(for the photo) AHHHHHHHHHH Im sooo excited ;D : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : EmmasOneandOnly March 16, 2005, 09:11:22 AM Is that the only auto card as of know. Who else is in the movie that poeple'd want the auto?
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : EmmasOneandOnly March 16, 2005, 09:15:38 AM Sorry about the double posting but
I was looking on IMDB and I saw that Violet wont be going o the factory with her dad but her MOTHER. : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Trey March 16, 2005, 09:18:54 AM Some good autos apart from Depp would be
Christopher Lee Helena Bonham Carter Tim Burton That is all the main names I know at the moment. : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ferdinand_the_yak March 16, 2005, 09:28:31 AM Christopher Lee for one :)
Freddie Highmore (Charlie) is also a brilliant actor for one of his age - I think he is 12. : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : EmmasOneandOnly March 16, 2005, 09:47:04 AM I've heard alot about the boy but never saw nothing he was in. I do want to see Finding Neverland thought
I LOVE Tim Burton. My Favoirte movies by him *Im sure are others* are The Nightmare before Christmas and Edward SissorHands : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Trey March 17, 2005, 06:54:18 AM Does anyone know if and when these boxes will go on pre-sale?? I want to order a couple :D
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : EmmasOneandOnly March 17, 2005, 06:56:00 AM I want one too. I hope I get the JD auto *when I get the box :-X*
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ferdinand_the_yak March 17, 2005, 06:56:59 AM Given the fact that its Artbox product, what do you think the collation will be like?
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Luluhime March 17, 2005, 06:57:13 AM Does anyone know if and when these boxes will go on pre-sale?? I want to order a couple :D The only place I know of so far is here: http://potomacdist.com/detail.asp?ItemId=charliecfb&a= (http://potomacdist.com/detail.asp?ItemId=charliecfb&a=) Prices aren't bad for the box alone, but you may want to double check shipping, esp to Oz :) : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : EmmasOneandOnly March 17, 2005, 06:59:02 AM Dont you have to buy more then $120.00 to get an order?
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Luluhime March 17, 2005, 07:01:18 AM Dont you have to buy more then $120.00 to get an order? oh pants, I just saw that...min order per shippment is $125. Oh well, better get to ordering 3 boxes ;) : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Trey March 17, 2005, 07:01:40 AM Hey thanks for that, yea I will check shipping to oz, but usually it is just too expensive, it is something that us aussies have to deal with :(
Given the fact that its Artbox product, what do you think the collation will be like? Well I am hoping that they will release a set similar to POA, I dont know if they would produce a large number, I suppose it might go on pre-orders though. I am praying that there arent a large number of prop and costume cards though like the POA update, but if they make the ratios similar to the original POA set then it could be good. : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : blackcat20 March 17, 2005, 07:49:17 AM potomac shipping costs to Aus are huge...Ill see if I can find somewhere cheaper for you...
Edit: email this guy (trianglecards@earthlink.net), his shipping costs are really good ($20 for two boxes, $25 for three, $60 for a case). He might have them for preorder. : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Trey March 17, 2005, 08:11:53 AM Thanks heaps, i will email and see ;D
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ferdinand_the_yak March 17, 2005, 01:11:29 PM In future, if you or Blackcat or McGonagall (Abraxas if she visits here again) want to order any more Potter (or whatever) boxes - maybe we could all order together - it would save on the shipping. Maybe. We'd have to figure that out.
Just an idea :) : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : blackcat20 March 17, 2005, 02:53:12 PM It would save on shipping originally, but as we are all in separate states, I think it would catch up anyway...but its a good idea ;D
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Morningangel-Iola March 17, 2005, 03:07:09 PM Could you have a big meeting somewhere in the middle?
Is there no where in Oz that has them, don't they know there are deperate fans. Can't help but think you are getting a bum deal down there :( : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ferdinand_the_yak March 17, 2005, 03:39:56 PM LOL Dawn - don't get us started ;)
Kate - you and Trey are both in Melbourne, right? It can be delivered to me in Sydney (and after shaking each box for hotboxes ;)) I can send them to you guys... but I don't really know if you could meet up at all? An idea to entertain, even if it doesn't work :D : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Luluhime March 17, 2005, 03:45:03 PM FTY, how much do you normally pay for a hobby box including shipping from the US (in AUS$)? (if you don't mind me asking)
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ferdinand_the_yak March 17, 2005, 03:50:07 PM Well, I pre-ordered from Potomac for PoA update ($57). Their minimum shipment is $125, so I bought 3 boxes and shipping altogether (via UPS) was about 50. So on average, about $75.
Ooops - sorry, that is all in US dollars - so I paid about $100 AUD per box : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Luluhime March 17, 2005, 03:57:27 PM Well, I pre-ordered from Potomac for PoA update ($57). Their minimum shipment is $125, so I bought 3 boxes and shipping altogether (via UPS) was about 50. So on average, about $75. Ooops - sorry, that is all in US dollars - so I paid about $100 AUD per box ok, I just wondered. The thing is, I could preorder a SS hobby box from uktradingcards.com (and a CatCF if they end up making it available) and get it shipped to me for free. I thought maybe I could order some, and then send them over there, but after looking at shipping costs to Oz, it would cost about £19. Plus that to the £49.90 price for the box, and you're already looking a $169 AUD for a box. Not to worry, I thought for a moment that I might have been able to get them to you for cheaper, but looks like that's impossible ::) :( : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ferdinand_the_yak March 17, 2005, 04:05:32 PM Thanks for the thought though :)
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : blackcat20 March 17, 2005, 04:46:02 PM Kate - you and Trey are both in Melbourne, right? It can be delivered to me in Sydney (and after shaking each box for hotboxes ;)) I can send them to you guys... but I don't really know if you could meet up at all? An idea to entertain, even if it doesn't work :D Well, I am going to be doing field trips up to NSW sometime soon... : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Trey March 18, 2005, 05:52:21 AM It is possible that Kate and I could meet up, I work in the city, or we can meet somewhere in the middle of where we live....it just depends on if Kate can, and how far away we are from eachother.
Im not doing any type of trip to Sydney in the future unfortunately unless I decide to drive up for Supanova..... The idea could work if Kate and I can meet....pm me if you want to kate and let me know which suburb you are in so we can see if it is possible. : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ferdinand_the_yak March 18, 2005, 06:12:24 AM Or even if just you and Kate met up - that would save some money for sure.
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : EmmasOneandOnly March 18, 2005, 06:14:27 AM I probably the only one that lives in florida, under eighteen, and cant meet anybody because nothing ever comes here and if it does then its in Orlando, a two and a half hour drive away
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Trey March 18, 2005, 06:32:59 AM Or even if just you and Kate met up - that would save some money for sure. Maybe if all 3 of us were buying boxes, we could get them sent to Melb, then Kate and I could meet up, and ship the other boxes up to you. That would save money for all 3 of us. I think we should meet up it would be good so I will see if Kate replies :D haha look at us arranging this, anything to save on shipping when it comes to cards :P hehe : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : blackcat20 March 18, 2005, 06:46:49 AM Im here now! ;D I live in Glen Waverley, but Im a student at Melbourne Uni, so Im near the city every day....this would be a good idea, and would save heaps, and its not too expensive to post one lot of boxes up to NSW...
Im all for it 8) : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : EmmasOneandOnly March 18, 2005, 06:49:38 AM This is started to sound like a meet-up ;)
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Trey March 18, 2005, 06:54:24 AM GREAT!! Sounds good. I usually get stuff posted to my work. I am in St.Kilda road so it is not too far from the city so we can meet up any day and work here is pretty flexible so I can take an early or late lunch, or we can meet before or after work (5pm).
Sounds good!!! It will cost less to ship one lot up to NSW like you said, instead of Jo sending two lots down to us!! : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ferdinand_the_yak March 18, 2005, 06:58:48 AM Sounds good guys :) i don't think it costs much to send a few boxes interstate :)
So do we start with Charlie, SS or GOF? ;) : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Trey March 18, 2005, 07:02:40 AM OR...maybe all of them :P
I have sent u and kate a pm ;) : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : blackcat20 March 18, 2005, 07:15:53 AM I don't think it costs much to send a few boxes interstate :) Last time I sent a box (LOTR tril) is was $11 including the packaging i think, so it shouldnt be too bad for multiple boxes... : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ferdinand_the_yak March 18, 2005, 07:19:34 AM PMs right back at ya! :)
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : zero March 27, 2005, 03:29:37 AM Some time ago, I had the funniest vision of all the dealers opening their purchased cases just like Veruca Salt with her dad. Well, I imagined them searching for the props/costumes and autos like the 1971 version where they were waiting for the Golden Ticket to show up ;D
Anyways, I've been searching and searching and I can't find any new info for this set. Yeah, it's two months away, but I can't wait :) For instance, we knew how to find all four promos for the Sorcerer's Stone set some time ago. Right now, we only have info for the first two promos of this set ... ??? : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Luluhime March 27, 2005, 05:44:43 PM I really hope that one of the costume cards will be willy wonkas red velvet jacket!! It's soooooo nice!!! ;D ;D
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Anna March 29, 2005, 03:55:12 AM Does anyone know if and when these boxes will go on pre-sale?? I want to order a couple :D Tomunique is taking pre-orders for cases now. I didn't ask about boxes, but you can just send him an e-mail for a price quote. : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : zero March 29, 2005, 04:48:41 AM I'm not the one who asked the question, but thanks for letting us know! Hopefully, tomunique will take pre-orders on boxes. I emailed him about the Sorcerer's Stone pre-orders and he was ver helpful! ;D
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : EmmasOneandOnly March 29, 2005, 04:58:38 AM When do you think they will release pictures of all the cards?
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Anna March 29, 2005, 05:03:01 AM When do you think they will release pictures of all the cards? Well since this is another Artbox product, the earliest you'll probably see pictures of the cards is when they're released! ::) : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : EmmasOneandOnly March 29, 2005, 05:07:01 AM >:(
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : zero March 29, 2005, 05:07:42 AM Well, you better beleive I'll be emailing artbox with a complaint if they don't release any info on this set (before it's release)!
I recently got my promos and sell sheets for both this set and SS. While looking at them, I noticed a key difference. SS did not mention anything about releasing info in the future, but they promos and sell sheets for Charlie say that info shall be released in the future. We'll see if they stick to this :P : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Anna March 29, 2005, 05:23:47 AM I recently got my promos and sell sheets for both this set and SS. While looking at them, I noticed a key difference. SS did not mention anything about releasing info in the future, but they promos and sell sheets for Charlie say that info shall be released in the future. We'll see if they stick to this :P The key words "in the future" can mean anytime. They didn't say "in the near future", so we'll see what happens. ::) : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : zero March 29, 2005, 05:32:15 AM Good Call ;) I guess I didn't think of it that way.
Perhaps, the petition for the SS set will make a difference to this release and all other sets produced by Artbox. They are a month apart, right? I guess I'm just hoping for the best when I don't really think that something could happen :-\ : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz March 29, 2005, 02:29:58 PM True but info on the Charlie set is chronically scarce!!!
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ferdinand_the_yak March 29, 2005, 03:21:42 PM Maybe its scattered in Chocolate bars a la the book? So instead of Golden tickets, you have Golden promos with full release information?
Now THAT would be a novel way of doing it ;) : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Anna March 29, 2005, 03:59:17 PM That sounds great! You get could gather info while you munch your candy bar. ;D
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ferdinand_the_yak March 29, 2005, 04:22:18 PM Its just another excuse to eat more chocolate *shrugs*
"Mmmm... another dual auto, *slurp* and Harry costume /29999999, another 15 Hermione costumes and Snape signing *munch*. Oooh production run of half a million cases with one chase card per case. Sounds great *dribble*and a multi-case incentive of a /15 Sorcerers Stone! Wow - I sure think I am going to get that!!! *oooh - nuts!* Great set *yum* ;D : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Anna March 29, 2005, 05:06:06 PM LOL ;D That sounds like a good set to me too! *munch, munch!*
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : zero March 30, 2005, 07:13:10 AM OOOOO! Chocolate + Cards = My two favorite things!
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : thor March 30, 2005, 07:24:47 AM OOOOO! Chocolate + Cards = My two favorite things! quote]
I know chocolate is one of your faves so I will be sure to hide the easter candy before you come home :P I like the idea of having the promos released in candy it sounds tasty and fun ;) : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : gimli March 30, 2005, 03:41:04 PM Right I have my P1 and P2 promos so do I now buy this set I love the original film and I am a big fan of Depp and Tim Burton. I am a little afraid that the Depp auto will be so rare that I won't stand a chance of getting it
oh well I shall deliberate a bit more What do you guys thing : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Luluhime March 30, 2005, 04:30:22 PM I'm deffinatly going to go for boxes ;D Even if I don't get a depp auto, I would love a piece of his red jacket that he wears. I'm so excited about this set, it's silly ::) lol :D
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : gimli March 30, 2005, 06:18:24 PM It is not silly at all this is shaping up to be a great film and a good set to go with it
if anything it is addictive : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : zero April 04, 2005, 03:10:48 AM Searching ebay for anything and everything, I stumbled upon some interesting auctions:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=219&item=6166580112&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=219&item=6166580112&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=219&item=6167281794&rd=1&ssPageName=WD1V (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=219&item=6167281794&rd=1&ssPageName=WD1V) I emailed the seller about the picture. The reply I got was that she didn't know anything about it except it was a picture being released for retail distributors to promote their product. The same seller also had this up for auction (not part of the card set): http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=80&item=6521885117&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=80&item=6521885117&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW) : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Anna April 04, 2005, 03:35:51 AM The picture used in the first two auctions looks like a promo card.
The statue looks cool. 8) Were you thinking about getting one? : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : zero April 04, 2005, 03:43:04 AM Sometime down the road, I'de like to get the binder and the bust; but not right now. Since the box is definitely overpriced, I guess I'm just afraid that I'll be able to get them cheaper.
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : zero April 05, 2005, 04:34:47 AM Ok, take this for what it's worth. Out of sheer boredome, I emailed artbox Friday afternoon regarding this set. Here's their reply:

Artbox Entertainment Customer Service ... so I'll send out another email around one and half to two weeks to see what they have to say, then! : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : gimli April 05, 2005, 01:36:35 PM I am now taking pre orders for Charlie and the chocolate Factory

C'mon Cards Inc - become a huger manufacturer so we can gloat that the US folk have to pay huge prices for a change ;D : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : beckham1 April 12, 2005, 06:38:52 AM Man I wish that we knew if Depp was signing. After all he was supposed to sign for Sleepy Hollow and never did, I don't know if that means that he is not into signing card sets. I know the sell sheet show a Depp auto, but we all know that doesn't mean squat.
I have been given a presell price of $520 for a case ;) Does anyone know who else is in the movie? Will there be any other good possible signers? : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : gimli April 12, 2005, 10:03:57 PM Freddie Highmore .... Charlie Bucket

There are 4 names on that list I recognise... Freddie, JD (of course), HBC and Chris Lee - interesting to see his sig next to a non-Saruman card!
All together now: 'Ooompa Loompa diddle dee dee' :) : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : sketchqueen April 12, 2005, 10:09:50 PM At first I thought it was an auto list too! Then I realized that he was just answering the question "Who else is in the movie"
Duh... I gotta stop reading when I'm at work and my mind is elsewhere :) : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : gimli April 12, 2005, 10:15:25 PM matbe i should have said i was answering the who is in the movie question

I can't wait role on May 30th (Offical Release Date from Artbox) : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz April 16, 2005, 11:21:20 PM LOL I was just writing the BLOG for the trading card price guide, and I was linking in to all the manufacturers websites when I discussed each set - see here:
http://www.theyakshack.co.uk/tradingcards/index.php?page=home But for Charlie?? Let's just say - no hyperlink :P Maybe I should have linked to one of our info pages instead, but we don't really have any info either ::) : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : zero April 19, 2005, 04:07:45 AM Buckle up everyone and place your orders on boxes and cases ;) I just got another reply (and probably the final) from Artbox regarding this set!
Hello Mike, We have acquired Jonny Depp's Autograph! More to be announced closer to the release date, May 30. Thank you for your interest in our products. Artbox Entertainment Customer Service WOOHOO! ;D : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : thor April 19, 2005, 04:11:58 AM WOO HOO

And I'm really excited about Depp signing. I hope I pull one. :) : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz April 19, 2005, 03:22:11 PM The good ish news is that Artbox are very unwilling to release info until it is confirmed with them (and who can blame them) - as with SS they are scared to let info get out until they have the autos back in hand.
So I think from that we can assume they have Depp in hand (unlike back when he said he'd sign for Inkworks), and to add to that Darren (Cards Inc) told me he'd seen the Depp autos ;) : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : zero April 20, 2005, 04:34:06 AM The good ish news is that Artbox are very unwilling to release info until it is confirmed with them (and who can blame them) - as with SS they are scared to let info get out until they have the autos back in hand. I was happy when they emailed me, but I was still skeptical. Artbox may be very cautious about their auto being on hand and what not ... but what about the costumes and props. Surely, they know more than what they are willing to devulge in that area. They should have those on hand by now ??? : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Trey April 20, 2005, 05:23:19 AM That's a cute site Trey. Thanks for sharing it. I liked the job openings the best. ;D Thats ok, happy to share of course ;) although someone would have discovered it sometime anyway. I loved the 'employee of the month' haha and I got one of the wallpapers to put on my desktop. Well I am really happy about JD signing ;D *ahhh squeals like a kid* I really believe they do have it in hand this time, artbox are pretty good with trying hard not to put redemptions in. I dont think they would have told us if they were unsure of him signing! I am going to annoy artbox with emails to try and find out more about the set. And hey, if we all do it then maybe they will get sick of us asking :P : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : zero April 20, 2005, 05:27:33 AM Well I am really happy about JD signing ;D *ahhh squeals like a kid* I really believe they do have it in hand this time, artbox are pretty good with trying hard not to put redemptions in. The first was rather lengthy, and I explained things like we know more about the HP:SS Set than we do CCF and what not. Be sure to let us know what info you get! : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Rabb April 20, 2005, 05:16:22 PM :oI'm so glad I read this,I had been considering buying a Johnny Depp Sleepy Hollow auto redemption card for sale on eBay & sending it in to get the card as a present for someone.I had no idea the redemption cards were worthless!.Would've been over $70 down the drain. :-\
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Trey April 21, 2005, 04:58:30 AM This is my reply back from Artbox
Hello, Yes, we do have Johnny Depp auto, however the costumes/prop are not ready to be announced. Thank you for your interest in our products. Artbox Entertainment Customer Service Pretty standard stuff really. I think they are getting annoyed already with people asking, hopefully they will get too annoyed and release some info! ha : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : zero April 21, 2005, 05:04:26 AM The Costumes/Props aren't ready to be announced. OH YEAH! Good job, Trey! Hopefully, our continued asking is annoying them. : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Trey April 21, 2005, 05:24:21 AM The Costumes/Props aren't ready to be announced. PAH! Yea exactly, as if they wouldnt know what costumes and props they would be using! I am getting a bit sick of artbox really, not giving out information. I mean, we havent even got confirmation on much of HP. We know a few things but nothing really in concrete. Look at Topps and Inkworks for example, they have heaps of info on upcoming sets. Even if not pictures, they still let people know who is signing, props etc. >:( me annoyed : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : zero April 21, 2005, 05:30:40 AM Yea exactly, as if they wouldnt know what costumes and props they would be using! Right now, we know much more about the SS set (even though it isn't much). For example, I have two CCF promos, but I don't know where to get the other ones. With SS, I have all the promos except the binder exclusive. GAH! As for the inserts, we know a couple from the SS and have seen pictures. For CCF, we only know of the Depp auto. Why bother with a website and paying a fortune for bandwidth etc if you are not even going to use it? ::)
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz April 21, 2005, 02:43:44 PM He hee - if no one uses your site it's surprisingly cheap to run :P ;D

Eight card packs will have an SRP of $1.99. Among the many highlights of this set will be autographed cards from the three main stars of the film : Johnny Depp, Christopher Lee, and Freddie Highmore. ... The product will also include costume cards, although the exact number has yet to be announced. There will also be prop cards, with different versions for retail and hobby packaging.
Hobby packs will feature several different prop cards. Retail prop cards will feature pieces of wrappers from some of the candy bars used as props in the film. There will even be a prop card featuring a 'golden ticket' wrapper in retail packs." There you go - now you know all I know, which isn't a whole heck of a lot ;) : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ferdinand_the_yak April 21, 2005, 08:32:32 PM Wow thanks for the info Joanna!
I wonder what role Christopher Lee plays? I am guessing Wonka's father but... ??? I wants the Golden ticket prop! 8) : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : sketchqueen April 21, 2005, 08:43:29 PM I do believe it said Lee was playing Wonka's dad - I edited so I didn't have to type the whole darn thing in :) Lazy Joanna! :D
: Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ferdinand_the_yak April 21, 2005, 08:47:45 PM I just hope the props in the retail packs are not going to be like the autographs in the FOTR retail packs :-[

What was wrong with the FOTR auto's. My brother has them and they are beautiful. Or was it just the pull ratio? : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : zero April 22, 2005, 01:11:02 AM WOW! All this info is rather inundating!!! Thanks Joanna and Martyn. Now, I might have to get a hobby and retail box or just a retail box. I like the idea of getting a candy wrapper! Though, I think it kinda weird to spread their product that way, but Artbox can probably make more sales that way.
When talking about the next NSU issue, does that mean the Sopranos one. I looked on the website, and they didn't mention having the CFF promo with the issue ... could it be one of the surprises ??? If this is the issue, I'll have to put a preorder in with my local comic book store ;) : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ferdinand_the_yak April 22, 2005, 05:21:14 AM I just hope the props in the retail packs are not going to be like the autographs in the FOTR retail packs :-[ As a novice I have to ask. What was wrong with the FOTR auto's. My brother has them and they are beautiful. Or was it just the pull ratio? Oh don't get me wrong, I love the FOTR autos and they are mainly what I collect if possible. Its the horrible odds that I don't like. 1 auto in three boxes. And when you consider that boxes nowadays (if they turn up at all sell for $250-300 and you are not even guaranteed of an autograph. The FOTR retail boxes had the Legolas, Saruman, Elrond and Merry autos which fetch the highest prices. I was lucky to get a Legolas but I doubt I will ever get any of the others :P So that was why I hope the odds for the CatCF retail cards are not the same! : Re:Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Anna April 22, 2005, 05:40:24 AM I got an e-mail back from Tomunique. He will have CatCF retail boxes and cases if anyone is interested in getting any. Just send him an e-mail for prices.

Sounds like they are trying to do similar ratios to HP, I hope there are going to be some cool props in this.? Artbox is proud to present what just may be the most talked about new film of the new year - Warner Bros. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! Charlie Bucket, a boy from an impoverished family under the shadow of a giant chocolate factory, wins a candy bar contest and is given a tour, along with four other children, of the amazing factory run by the eccentric Willy Wonka and his staff of Oompa-Loompas. This incredible set will have 90 base cards, 9 randomly inserted foil cards plus costume cards, prop cards, autograph cards and more to be announced! We are looking at 1 autograph for every 2 boxes, 5 autographs per case. Johnny Depp has been confirmed to sign! Artbox is trying to get 1 costume per box. : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Anna May 14, 2005, 09:56:19 PM I chatted with my dealer a little while ago and he told me that there will be an incentive card, the Grass card, which will be 3/4” thick. :o :o :o This will be the thickest card Artbox has ever made.

A dealer told me last night, On No!! Glad I have my order in! ;D : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : beckham1 May 31, 2005, 02:07:33 PM Any word on this yet. I am getting a little annoyed that we are a little over 2 weeks from release and we know nothing (other than depp auto). Of course I don't expect to have any info from Artbox, but usually we have some underground word. Tap those resources I know some of you have great ones.
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : beckham1 May 31, 2005, 02:11:05 PM By the way, does anyone else who has seen a pic of the depp auto think that is the worst signature ever. I can't even make any sense of it, can anyone else? (although I really still do want one.)
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Martyn May 31, 2005, 02:13:45 PM When I e-mail Artbox they says "Ask closer to the release date"
But they did say, that Promo #1 and #2 are normal Promo's and Promo #3 and #4 are Incentive Promo's. But didn't say in what way. I think they ment with the binder! : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Martyn May 31, 2005, 02:17:35 PM (http://i7.ebayimg.com/03/i/aa/9b/b8/40_1_b.JPG)

I have a few cases coming, I am super excited. : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa June 18, 2005, 09:47:20 AM Can you guys post some pictures on here when you open your cases? I'm curious to see some cards. Also interested in a base set if someone wants to sell. Thanks!
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz June 21, 2005, 08:09:19 PM We are proud to present...
*drum roll* The most exciting and bizzare "card" in a long time: (http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b37/CharlieCards/CCF_Grass_prop.jpg) I think (like Marmite) this is the sort of thing you either love or loathe. You are either thinking - how awesome!!! I want to show it on my mantlepiece... or you are thinking "oh no - the ultimate non-binder fitting card! Well this is the 25 case incentive short grass prop and because of it's size it will come in a 150 count box. For those of you who just got a pain in your wallet the New York incentive will be limited to 95 cards (so hopefully a little more achievable) and will have LONGER grass - and will come in a 250 count box for protection! These are mad but exciting times people! : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Anna June 21, 2005, 08:19:39 PM OMG! :o Where would you keep such a card? ??? And this is the 'short' grass version! :-\ But the most important question is: Do these cards have variants, such as grass with a dandelion flower? ;)
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa June 21, 2005, 08:28:49 PM Woooo!!!! :o Artbox sure thought OUTSIDE the box on this one.
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz June 21, 2005, 08:29:56 PM Anna you never fail to make me giggle... although I was expecting someone to ask if we had to water it ;)
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ferdinand_the_yak June 21, 2005, 08:32:07 PM Anna you never fail to make me giggle... although I was expecting someone to ask if we had to water it ;) *Ahem* I wonder what kind of person would ask that? ::) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : TOMUNIQUE June 21, 2005, 08:37:54 PM comes with watering can and lawn mower.
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ferdinand_the_yak June 21, 2005, 08:42:54 PM comes with watering can and lawn mower. FTY *chokes*    : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : EmmasOneandOnly June 21, 2005, 09:30:53 PM Is this for real :-\ Is this ACTUALLY the 25 case incentive card ???
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz June 21, 2005, 09:43:01 PM Yes it's not April the 1st, that's really the 25 case incentive
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : EmmasOneandOnly June 21, 2005, 10:19:19 PM Yeah but we know how you are Roz ;)
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz June 21, 2005, 11:28:40 PM *Thinks back to time when we put Aragorn in leather helmet and goggles (ye olde style flying kit) especially for Ed / Savage727*
Me?? *looks innocent* : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : EmmasOneandOnly June 21, 2005, 11:31:47 PM
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ronov June 21, 2005, 11:39:17 PM This ''card'' makes me happy for NOT buying 25 cases...
the card has a very nice design but the green thingy has got to go : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : EmmasOneandOnly June 21, 2005, 11:40:59 PM I know, its not the problem of storing it its the porblem not to tell your self not to rip it off and stuff it into the swatch
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Martyn June 22, 2005, 01:43:51 AM The UK expect there shipment tomorrow or Thursday! ;D
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz June 22, 2005, 03:30:35 AM It sounds like Tom has got his retail boxes in as he's sent me this pic:

: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Martyn June 22, 2005, 03:42:20 AM Kooooool ;D
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz June 22, 2005, 03:42:42 AM I wouldn't think so yet - remember Tom deals direct with Artbox, people like Wall Mart etc will have to wait for them to get shipped to their various distribution centres before going out to the stores.
Ahh it looks like Tom has also had his cases of Hobby product in too See here (http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-1738318-5463217?loc=http%3A//search.stores.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll%3Fquery%3Dcharlie+live%26srchdesc%3Dy%26fp%3D0%26sid%3D100004650%26ssPageName%3DVIStoreHeaderSearch) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa June 22, 2005, 06:28:03 AM I like how they put the candy wrapper swatch on a golden ticket background. I may have to get those. 8)
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Trey June 22, 2005, 06:33:37 AM Yesss if Tom has his cases in that means he will be sending my boxes out :D but I wont get them till next week anyway!
That grass incentive card it bizarre...totally bizarre...but very inventive i must say. Dont know if I would want one but it is pretty cool. : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : blackcat20 June 22, 2005, 06:52:25 AM you never know, they could arrive friday :P Im looking forward to getting my boxes ;D

: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz June 23, 2005, 01:36:32 PM Just when you thought it had hit a peak of madness - here's the NY card:
(http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b37/CharlieCards/TALLGRASS1.jpg) and here's a pic of the 25 case incentive as you would receive it: (http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b37/CharlieCards/shortgrass2.jpg) Like Wonka himself this set looks to be extremely inventive... but the question is - Do you like it? I am currently embracing it's madness and enjoying it ;) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : EmmasOneandOnly June 23, 2005, 01:45:29 PM Are the Retail Cards in stores yet becaues I'm going to the mall tomorrow and want to pick some up?

: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz June 23, 2005, 05:16:36 PM I don't know whether you know but there's an event in New York called the New York toy fair.
This was back in February and LOTR fans went wild as there were tonnes of exciting Sideshow statues revealed there. Anyway - Artbox had a presence at this event and dealers and distributors who put their name down for their cases at this event will receive a few of these "New York" incentive cards. As far as I have heard only 2 or 3 dealers are having them. : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa June 23, 2005, 07:44:26 PM Oooooo...those 4 chocolate wrapper cards are MINE, MINE, MINE! And from previous posts it looks like they will be in hobby and retail, and in high numbers, so not too hard to get. ;D
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Martyn June 23, 2005, 07:55:13 PM All 4 retail cards out of 2330
Except Whipple Fudgemallow delight which is out of 1530 : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz June 23, 2005, 08:02:00 PM Actually they look really nice cards! Numbers aside ;) I don't think there's a mad rush to buy them at the beginning - it seems there will be a few around :D
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : rns91294 June 23, 2005, 10:41:16 PM I hope Tomunique has them at the august card show in my area. I may need to buy a box!

These cards are awesome!. What a colourful set, and what fun chase cards! Been busy opening all night - pulled a few nice autos (Veruca Salt, Augustus, Violet +++) and some reallly nice variants in the costumes and props. I will post the break soon, but for you early birds, scans of some of them can be found in my listings: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZsmojo22 (http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-1738318-5463217?loc=http%3A//search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZsmojo22) I will get the rest of them up as soon as I can. Have a good night (or a good morning as the case may be). Rich : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Martyn June 24, 2005, 02:02:06 PM How many prop/costume/auto did you get per case?
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Trey June 24, 2005, 02:10:08 PM Christopher Lee auto!!! WOOO HOOO
Ok this is 2nd on my list after Depp ;) Im glad that he signed! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=219&item=6189176822 : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz June 24, 2005, 02:21:30 PM I've just popped the autos in the price guide but now I must rush out. If anyone sees a scan of the Mr Salt auto can they PM me a link - or if you open a case and get one - even better ;)
I'll continue on the other bits of the set later. Looking back: I want a mint grass prop - or any prop from the chocolate room for that matter! YOU! Be careful what you wish for! Are they doing a normal set with autos/costumes/props?......that would be fantastic!!! All I can say is... JOHNNY DEPP AUTO!!!! YESSS PLEASE ;D How very prophetic! Some good autos apart from Depp would be Christopher Lee Helena Bonham Carter Tim Burton 3/4 aint bad Trey ;) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa June 24, 2005, 08:39:43 PM Hey, Rich. What is the Chocolate piece card like? Is it hard plastic or more of a rubber? How thick?
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Anna June 24, 2005, 09:05:48 PM Hey, Rich. What is the Chocolate piece card like? Is it hard plastic or more of a rubber? How thick? I'm curious also (since I haven't received my cases yet >:( ). Are a lot of the cards thick like the SS set? : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : sketchqueen June 24, 2005, 09:08:08 PM Tom's auctions say that there's only a little over 100 of the Depp, Highmore and Lee autos..
It's amazing the stuff Artbox can get away with - in our Enterprise set we had 3 autos that were between 200 and 300 and collectors get pissy if one of those three isn't in *their* box, but Artbox has 3 autos that are just over 100 and it's exciting and cool. I'm off to go grumble and growl to Mike :) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : canny19 June 24, 2005, 09:52:23 PM OK, call me stupid if you wish, but I need an little expalination; due to my slowness! :P
I have just checked :ebay: and here, for the pictures of the grass prop. It says that there are 2 styles of grass.
Any light shed would be good. Thanks -- Chris :D : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : beckham1 June 24, 2005, 10:07:13 PM Check the price guide under CATCF set, it has pictures of both, and actually I think it is the other way around:
The 25 case incentive card is shorter and more limited the NY exclusive is taller and wavier and there are about 3x as many, however there are still under 100 of this one too. Hope that helps. : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : canny19 June 24, 2005, 10:10:36 PM Thank you Beckham1.
Chris :D : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : beckham1 June 24, 2005, 10:50:59 PM Well unless my cards are coming from Fed Ex they probably won't be here today. UPS already came to work and they didn't have my CATCF :'( >:() I am a little disappointed and a little PO'd. If Artbox had sent them by Wed they should have got here. Well I hope you have better luck anna.

http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-1738318-5463217?loc=http%3A//cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D6189411393%26fromMakeTrack%3Dtrue But if you think about it - the Ben Affleck Daredevil auto is said to go for $600-700 and I know which one I'd rather own ;) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Eve June 27, 2005, 01:54:51 AM Well the price of the Johnny Depp auto is quite high $405 with over a day to go on a 3 day auction :rofl:http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-1738318-5463217?loc=http%3A//cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D6189411393%26fromMakeTrack%3Dtrue But if you think about it - the Ben Affleck Daredevil auto is said to go for $600-700 and I know which one I'd rather own ;) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Geek Boy June 27, 2005, 03:30:14 AM Well the price of the Johnny Depp auto is quite high $405 with over a day to go on a 3 day auction And for some reason, Tom Breyer has the high bid of $250 on the Birthday Wrapper card - I thought he would have pulled one himself by now : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz June 27, 2005, 03:45:31 AM You would think so - I haven't spoken to him for a while but when I last spoke (mid way through Friday) he hadn't pulled one at that point and he had opened LOTS
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ferdinand_the_yak June 27, 2005, 04:53:56 AM Does anyone think that Freddie Highmore's auto style looks very similar to Dan Radcliffe's?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=219&item=6189411590&rd=1 : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa June 27, 2005, 05:04:06 AM The F and the D's look VERY similar to me. How old is he? He probably just learned to write script a few years ago. :D
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Trey June 27, 2005, 05:06:07 AM Yea I thought that too, definately similar, but considering freddie is younger I think his is actually better than Dan's
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa June 27, 2005, 05:09:50 AM Yes, Freddie's is better. His looks a bit more "relaxed". Like he's used to signing things.
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : LikORish-Spider June 27, 2005, 07:18:08 PM Well the price of the Johnny Depp auto is quite high $405 with over a day to go on a 3 day auction :rofl:http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-1738318-5463217?loc=http%3A//cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D6189411393%26fromMakeTrack%3Dtrue But if you think about it - the Ben Affleck Daredevil auto is said to go for $600-700 and I know which one I'd rather own ;) Now at $610.00. How high can it go? : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : LikORish-Spider June 27, 2005, 07:20:15 PM Thanks :) And congratulations Eve, that variant Tie is a very tough pull also. ;D And John, it won't ever come up on ebay. ;) What! Some people would mortgage the house or sell the car to buy it. Pull a dupe and let's see. : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : beckham1 June 28, 2005, 03:39:01 AM Well no golden ticket, but here is a nice card. Last pack of the last box of the case I opened during a little break from work. And I so far think these cards a really nice, some great variants I will post some more scans tonight got to get back to work.
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v472/dlecours1313/Deppauto.jpg) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : rns91294 June 28, 2005, 03:42:49 AM Awesome!!! Good for you!!
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Tower June 28, 2005, 03:47:31 AM Great pull !!! I wish i would ever pull a card which is more than $600 worth. ::) You deserve this when i think of your bad luck with the SS cases.
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : rns91294 June 28, 2005, 03:48:13 AM I wish I could pull a rare card like that too. Arw any of these smiles for jealousy?
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : beckham1 June 28, 2005, 03:50:07 AM Thank you Thomas, I didn't think of that, luck certainly is part of collecting I had some bad luck and good luck. So I guess that helps me feel better about missing out on the letter props in SS. Although I don't know what I will do with the auto, I like Depp, but am not a huge fan by any means, I would rather have lotr auto's. It will be hard to keep a card worth that much without an emotional attachment.
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : rns91294 June 28, 2005, 03:52:20 AM You could sell it and use the money for the LOTR autos you want!!! Or trade with someone who would want Depp. Loads of Johnny fans out there!!!
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Tower June 28, 2005, 03:53:21 AM Oh yes, i can understand that very well. But you really should decide very fast. I guess the price will fall below $600 very soon (but of course i can be wrong). I would sell fast or keep "forever". 8)
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa June 28, 2005, 03:59:50 AM Well no golden ticket, but here is a nice card. "nice" that's the understatement of the year!: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Tower June 28, 2005, 04:01:27 AM It's a kind of "Well, no Triple Auto, but a nice card though, a Daniel Radcliffe Auto". ;D
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : beckham1 June 28, 2005, 04:36:10 AM The card could very well go up too, think of Daredevil Affleck auto or Garner Daredevil all in collections so if you can find one it will sell for more than the last one.
Even LOTR, I don't know what a Merry auto of FOTR went for at first but (I am sure someone here knows).....and we know there is only around 100 of the JD auto's. : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz June 28, 2005, 04:45:23 AM There are around 500 Merry's and in the early days it went for £300, then up and up to finally £1200 before currently settling around £800.
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa June 28, 2005, 05:30:09 AM Julios nonsport depot has 2 chocolate bar cards and an announcement poster for a buy it now @$19.99 each.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=219&item=6190068434&rd=1 : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Anna June 28, 2005, 06:11:43 AM Woo Hoo! Congratulations Beckham on you Depp auto pull! ;D Was pulling it worth the delay in your delivery? ;)
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ferdinand_the_yak June 28, 2005, 06:22:22 AM Nice one Becks! Which of the LOTR autos are you after? It might make it easier for you to decide if you can get 2 or 3 of them for the Depp auto :)
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Trey June 28, 2005, 06:27:06 AM oh....that is a devine auto ;D I wanttsssss it :P
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa June 28, 2005, 08:12:21 AM Allender, I saw on the breakdown thread that you pulled a Depp auto!!!! Wonderful luck! Are you keeping or selling?
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Anna June 28, 2005, 08:24:38 AM Allender, I saw on the breakdown thread that you pulled a Depp auto!!!! Wonderful luck! Are you keeping or selling? I saw that too, congratulations Jeff! ;D Nice pull! 8) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : allender June 28, 2005, 08:27:51 AM Allender, I saw on the breakdown thread that you pulled a Depp auto!!!! Wonderful luck! Are you keeping or selling? Gosh, you're too quick for me. ;) Had to upload the images before I came over to this thread!I'm keeping. Though some day I might change my mind. I think I'll stay with my luck with a box or two with new sets because my luck's been a lot better than my cases. Right now, this looks like my personal record. Not quite like the story of somebody pulling a James Earl Jones SW autograph from a random pack, but I'll settle for a Johnny Depp from two boxes. ;D ;D Here's the scan of my three high chase. The chocolate bar is 3 mm thick, and will still slide into a 9-pocket page. I'm glad it was confirmed as "plastic" because I was going to lick a corner to find out. Mrs. Gloop is very nice because I got all six colors, even tho it's not the rarest card in the set! I don't think I have a right to complain for a while. :D (http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/allender/0000wonk.jpg) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : TOMUNIQUE June 28, 2005, 10:37:04 AM where did you get those lucky boxes?
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : beckham1 June 28, 2005, 11:37:57 AM OK as much as I do like these cards I do have to make this observation....they didn't do a good job of mixing up the collation. I will post my case breakdowns so you can see what I mean better Tues (as I must go to bed soon), but I had many duplicates from case to case. I actually got the same 5 autos in consecutive cases and 3 certain autos were in each of the 4 cases I opened >:()
Well just my take, but it's hard to complain when you get a depp auto :-\, but my guess regarding #'ing the boxes is they just number them on the assembly line with random variable numbers and then shrink wrap and put them in the cases. So you probably get 10 consecutive boxes off the assembly line. Well I will post my breakdowns Tues and it will make more sense, but again I do like the cards I just have a lot of duplicates and not a lot of variety. : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Tower June 28, 2005, 11:39:16 AM A Johnny Depp out of 2 boxes, that's amazing, congrats Jeff ! :D
I think, i will find a golden ticket in the only box i ordered. You can call me Charlie after that. ;D BTW: I don't know why everybody says there are 18 tickets. I checked it in the book and there are only 5 of them. ;D Okay, enough kidding, let's go to work now. :-\ But before more seriously: It seems that there are really only 5 of them if i look how many appeared yet. :-\ And finally: A new Johnny Depp is on ebay, reached $400 after 5 hours. They sell pretty well at the moment, great pulls guys. 8) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz June 28, 2005, 10:03:12 PM Mrs. Gloop is very nice because I got all six colours, even tho it's not the rarest card in the set! I don't think I have a right to complain for a while. :D Certainly not! It's always good to see long time collectors get some really good luck (I am also thinking of Joanna/Sketchqueen and her Topps Batman Begins case). : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Anna June 28, 2005, 10:12:08 PM Here is a picture of the 4 tins for this set:
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/AnnaO/CatCF%20Card%20Inserts/CCF_mock_tins3.jpg) Here's what the retail foils (M1-M9) look like - they're similar, but different from the hobby foils (R1-R9). The backs of the retail foils also make a different puzzle picture (again similar, but different): (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/AnnaO/CatCF%20Card%20Inserts/Retail_Foils-Front.jpg) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/AnnaO/CatCF%20Card%20Inserts/Retail_Foils-Back.jpg) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz June 29, 2005, 01:35:08 AM Ooh and this auction has a pic of the back of the Depp auto!
They have used the same pic on the back as on the front :o http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-1738318-5463217?loc=http%3A//cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D6190249702 : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa June 29, 2005, 02:46:55 AM Are those your foils, Anna? I love the look, very pop art style. Especially the Oompa Loompas! Does anyone know if the retail is in stores yet? Can you get these tins in stores too?
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : hyescarface00 June 29, 2005, 04:08:58 AM im new to the retail aspect of this hobby. but i still do need 2 of the retail prop cards, what stores carry artbox cards? im going out to look later today, where are the best places to look???
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : hyescarface00 June 29, 2005, 04:26:27 AM one more thing you guys. What is the Mrs. Beuragarde pants "SD Comicon Exclusive". Will they be handing these out at Comicon?? I have been the last 2 years and didnt know they gave out free memorabilia cards???? Roz can you shed any light on this topic?
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : allender June 29, 2005, 08:52:31 AM where did you get those lucky boxes? Chuckle chortle. I think the questioner knows that I mined this particular lode straight out of New Yawk City. ;DActually, one of the two boxes only gave me a chocolate bar. Then again, it was the first box, so I can't say that I ordered too many. Not a bad UPS day, since the single Batman Begins box in my package yielded a Murphy auto. Thanks! : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : allender June 29, 2005, 08:56:41 AM I think, i will find a golden ticket in the only box i ordered. You can call me Charlie after that. ;D Nah, Charlie had to buy at least three to find his. We have to find you some money in the snow so that you can relive the fantasy. ... : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : allender June 29, 2005, 09:18:41 AM Mrs. Gloop is very nice because I got all six colours, even tho it's not the rarest card in the set! I think they look like old psychedelic concert posters! 8)
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz June 29, 2005, 05:48:13 PM :) they do!
Guys - take a look at this - the price guide http://www.theyakshack.co.uk/tradingcards/index.php?page=cardlist&set=14 There are still some picture we need to complete it (not to mention some cards yet unreleased) so if you have a picture of 1) Whipple Scrumptious Wrappers (Retail) 2) A Golden Ticket 3) Violet's Tracksuit Top or 4) Mrs. Beauregarde's track halter Then please get in touch. I know we won't have Mrs. Beauregarde's pants picture til the San Diego con in a couple or weeks time, nor the Golden Wrappers from there (if that goes ahead), but let's get this as finished as we can shall we? I have entered autograph auctions for the 29th and 28th just now in case anyone wants to do those it's probably better to look at the 26th and 27th. Or to do costumes or props :D : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : beckham1 June 29, 2005, 10:36:25 PM I think I have one or two of those cards, let me know what I need to do for you to put them in the price guide. I am at work right now so it will be a few hours, but let me know.
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz June 29, 2005, 10:52:34 PM PM on its way

Rich : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ronov July 01, 2005, 02:42:09 AM Hi all,
been reading about the Golden Ticket card ... but never seen one... not at the forum or on ebay... Has really nobody found one till now? No worry, not going to steal it, just want to SEE it... : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Anna July 01, 2005, 03:10:48 AM been reading about the Golden Ticket card ... but never seen one... not at the forum or on ebay... Has really nobody found one till now? I haven't see one yet and I've been through all the ebay listings, current and ended auctions. I'm curious as to what it looks like too. : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ronov July 01, 2005, 03:16:35 AM Understand there are only 18 of the Golden Ticket Cards.
Is it possible that only non-forum and non-selling people have found them????? Seems impossible thinking of all the cases and boxes opened by members and ebay-sellers. : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa July 01, 2005, 10:13:22 AM When one of those cards hits ebay, get out of the way, it's going to be crazy!
btw, I'm trying to do a Golden Ticket replica prop. Can anyone tell me what it says on the lower left hand corner before the words "10 AM SHARP"? And does anyone know what's on the embossed circle? : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : EmmasOneandOnly July 01, 2005, 10:31:18 AM Here kelly,

: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa July 01, 2005, 07:53:56 PM Thanks! I didn't even know that there were words at the very bottom. Now I've got it.
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa July 02, 2005, 05:39:53 AM Oh, she's talking about the new movie one. Sorry, I could only find the original ticket pictures :( I think the original words are on the backs of the new tickets. Thanks!: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : rns91294 July 02, 2005, 07:27:16 AM There is only 18....well...how many boxes are left to open? I only plan to get one box....but I would be thrilled to get one. I know, wishful thinking, huh ???
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Tower July 02, 2005, 03:10:59 PM When i'm calculating this, i'm thinking that there are not more than 12 tickets in packs. I'm sure Artbox hold back some of them. So it's like a 50 case incentive card, you have to buy 50 cases / 500 boxes to find one (if they really exist). But it's strange that no ticket appeared yet. Are they really existing? Any big dealer must have found one, or not? Well, i will get one box and i hope it's number 500. ;D
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz July 02, 2005, 03:15:00 PM It surprises me that Tom hasn't had one yet as he's taken quite a lot of this product maybe he hasn't opened that many cases... we shall have to encourage him to keep opening ;)
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Tower July 02, 2005, 03:21:29 PM It seems that Tom also didn't find a Wrapping Paper from the Birthday Present (lim. to 72) yet and others did. So he can't have opened much boxes (or he had really bad luck).
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz July 02, 2005, 03:26:27 PM Too true!
I hope it's not too bad luck :( : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : sketchqueen July 02, 2005, 08:09:05 PM Does anyone know what I'm supposed to be getting from Artbox at San Diego - I've heard so many different things that I'm very confused :) HELP ME get un-confused ...
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : rns91294 July 02, 2005, 09:57:42 PM This might have already been covered, so sorry if I am bringing it up again. I notice Mr Salt's outfit is limites to 265 in the priceguide. Yet, on :ebay: I see there are some to 265 and some to 165. Any ideas?
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Martyn July 02, 2005, 11:58:53 PM The 165 is of his tie, and the 265 is of his suit!
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : rns91294 July 03, 2005, 12:02:29 AM Well that explains why some are going for more than the others!!! I noticed the one was brown with the stripes and the other was not brown, but a greyish black color. Thanks! They should both be in the priceguide though, right :-\
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Bryanjs14 July 03, 2005, 06:23:24 AM The Mr Salt costume comes in a variant numbered to 165 of his tie. the 265 is of his coat jacket I believe. But the picture on the card is exactly the same.

I noticed the one was brown with the stripes and the other was not brown, but a greyish black colour. Thanks! They should both be in the priceguide though, right :-\ The scans probably don't catch the color too well. The suit is actually a dark green. (At least on the Swatch I have.) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Anna July 03, 2005, 08:06:32 PM The scans probably don't catch the colour too well. The suit is actually a dark green. It was 2:00AM ,too. ::) So I may have been hallucinating after finding 3 Depp autos in two cases in a row. LOL - I wish I could be suffering from the same malady for the same reason as you. ;) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : LikORish-Spider July 04, 2005, 03:36:32 PM Mr. Salts Suit and Mr. Salt's tie are definitely two different Costumes. They do have the same picture just like Honeydikes Candy and Black Pepper Imps, they have different numbers issued. Suit is 265 and Tie is 165.
Suit Front (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y102/LikORish-Spider/CATCF/MrSaltsTieFront.jpg) Suit back (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y102/LikORish-Spider/CATCF/MrSaltsTieBack.jpg) Do you think the Yak Price Guide should include both? : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ferdinand_the_yak July 04, 2005, 03:39:43 PM I reckon so, especially as they fetch significantly different prices :)
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz July 04, 2005, 04:12:21 PM oic they are numbered differently but look the same?
OK I can re-use the pic I have for salt front, but if some one has a scan of a salt back then that would be good :) I've added it to the guide on it's own but no pic as yet (which is still the case for a few things which are making the guide look a tad scruffy ;) OOOOooooooooooooooooooooh Tom's found one! No. 16/18. If i should guess a little bit, i would say No. 07-18 are in packs and not more of them (maybe less, 09-18 for example). ::) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : LikORish-Spider July 05, 2005, 04:25:03 AM There it the first ticket, great ! :D No. 16/18. If they give away 6 or 7 and keep 1 or 2 as backup cards then I'd like to submit that the advertising is false and misleading. >:() If this is the case the adverts should say "10 Golden Tickets", not "18 Golden Tickets". : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : rns91294 July 06, 2005, 02:20:59 AM Well, they do only say limited to 18. However, thtat is because that is the number they are limited too. They never do actually tell you how many are inserts......
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Tower July 06, 2005, 02:27:35 AM Maybe they thought "Hey, we should do what's said in the book and make it authentic. Let's put only 5 tickets in packs". ;D
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : rns91294 July 06, 2005, 02:51:14 AM I actually thought that. It is really like finding a Golden Ticket, huh?
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Tower July 06, 2005, 03:03:57 AM Yes really. :)
If i imagine, there are 10 of 18 tickets in packs, we have 1 in every 600 boxes (every 60 cases). Well, i still hope, anybode else has the other 599 boxes and i have number 600. ;D It's nice to have this little chance with the single box i ordered. But of course i know, i won't pull a golden ticket. But i still hope for 2 inserts. :) I'm curious and would like to see the first ticket on ebay. I would really like to know the final price in such an auction. ::) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Morningangel-Iola July 06, 2005, 03:08:55 AM Yor never know Tower, good luck ;)
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : rns91294 July 06, 2005, 03:13:09 AM I am only getting one box too, and hope to be that lucky!!
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Morningangel-Iola July 06, 2005, 03:17:17 AM Good luck too. You never know what wonders you boxes hold. Are you going to stick with one? I said that about SS and I have proved myself VERY wrong ::)
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Tower July 06, 2005, 03:20:49 AM Thanks. :)
I have no idea what happens, don't ask me. I swore one year ago, i would never buy a card for more than $50 and now i have (almost) 3 HP Master Sets and some of these cards have been a little bit more expensive. ::) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Morningangel-Iola July 06, 2005, 03:22:35 AM I'm lucky I am on a very tight budget or I would be following in your footsteps by now ;)

Yeah, right. : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Morningangel-Iola July 06, 2005, 04:54:06 PM I was going to bid on the Johnny Depp, but on second thought, I've decided to pass.  Just kidding , TOWER.   Now confused the posts from LikORish-Spider but signed Tower ??? : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz July 06, 2005, 05:04:20 PM Don't worry - I think it's John ressuring Tower that he's kidding rather than signing off :)

: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : LikORish-Spider July 06, 2005, 08:10:41 PM Don't worry - I think it's John ressuring Tower that he's kidding rather than signing off :) Right you are, Roz. Tower and I have a running joke about me buying up a lot of the good cards. But I am here to testify that I actually turned one of my 4 Johnny Depp cards over to the loving care of a fellow Yak Shaker----Whom shall go un-named. But as luck would have it, I opened another case and out jumped another Depp card. :o I just can't seem to get rid of this guy. : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ferdinand_the_yak July 06, 2005, 08:12:39 PM But as luck would have it, I opened another case and out jumped another Depp card. :o I just can't seem to get rid of this guy. I'll happily take some off your hands if you are finding those cards annoying  : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Tower July 06, 2005, 08:45:31 PM  Incredible, you and your Depps, John. ;D
Well, i'm at home now and happy that my only box arrived today. :) So now comes the time to open it (slowly, makes more fun). I'll tell you what i found. Maybe i shouldn't open it and send it to John, he would pull a Depp for me. ;D : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Tower July 06, 2005, 09:21:56 PM Well, i didn't pull a Depp. And of course no ticket. But i can say, i had really luck with my only box. :D
(http://www.towersweb.de/Cards/Charlie.jpg) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : rns91294 July 06, 2005, 10:54:32 PM These cards are so colorful!! I love them!!

But i can say, i had really luck with my only box. :D (http://www.towersweb.de/Cards/Charlie.jpg) That Julia Winters is a great pull. Someone has one on ebay and they state that their are only 135 0f them, definitely a keeper. Does anyone have any numbers yet on how many were made of each one? Artbox never tells. Believe it or not, I have all of the autographs except ONE. For me it's the elusive Christopher Lee. I've opened 14 cases: My best pulls were: Christopher Lee 0 Freddie Highmore 1 Helena Bonham Carter 1 Julia Winter 1 David Kelly 4 Johnny Depp 5 -----Common  (Am I lucky or What???) Then: Missi Pyle 6 Annasophia Robb 8 Deep Roy 10 James Fox 12 Jordan Fry 12 Philip Wiegratz 12 TOTAL 71 In one case I found 7 autographs, in another I found 4 : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : LikORish-Spider July 07, 2005, 04:43:37 AM Me and my big mouth. The Card wizards must be listening. I opened the next case and in the first box (# 2430, for those who like that info):
Card # 363-390 (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y102/LikORish-Spider/CATCF/WonkaboxofChocolatesfromPondicherryPalace363-390.jpg) and (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y102/LikORish-Spider/CATCF/ChristopherLeeAutograph.jpg) Now, for the elusive "Golden Ticket" ::) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Nienna July 07, 2005, 05:05:06 AM OOOO Well done on the Christopher Lee auto John! ;D
Perhaps the Card Wizards are smiling on you at the moment!? 8) Tom pulled a Golden Ticket, maybe you'll be next ... ;) Loved the comment about the Depp autos being 'common'!! : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa July 07, 2005, 05:12:43 AM That's a really cool orange swatch. I've seen some on ebay, but I'm confused about where it's from. The candy from the inside? Any ideas? Congrats on getting your last auto!
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : hyescarface00 July 07, 2005, 05:20:09 AM Hey anybody know what the deal is with the SD Comic Con Charlie exclusive Costume card??? I think its Mrs Beuragardes pants or something? Roz u got any info on this? Are they just going to be hadning them out??? :o=
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Trey July 07, 2005, 05:44:36 AM Wow John, you have done great by pulling another Depp auto :D fantastic!!! Well maybe they aren't as rare as we thought so the price may go down on ebay.... :o= .....or maybe it is just John's luck ;D
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Bryanjs14 July 08, 2005, 06:26:44 AM Yeah, I was wondering about the Comic Con costume card also....I am going to be there and I really wanted to try and get my hands on one. Any information would be MORE than helpful.
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz July 08, 2005, 02:30:07 PM It's all rather confused at the moment, but there are supposed to be tins with the costume in.
There's also supposed to be hobby versions of the retail "golden ticket" cards at the Comic Con limited to 70 (of each) - but I don't know how they will be distributed, I heard it was in tins but whether that's the same as the above costume tin or a different set remains unknown : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa July 08, 2005, 08:01:53 PM Wait, What? I thought the golden tickets were in hobby boxes only. There are retail golden tickets?
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz July 08, 2005, 08:25:39 PM Yeah - for some reason they count the retail cards as "golden tickets" despite not containing bits of the ticket - have a look at a retail card and you will see emblazoned across it "GOLDEN TICKET".
So the only REAL Golden Ticket is /18 Tarnation and blimey! : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Bryanjs14 July 08, 2005, 08:57:53 PM Thanks Roz!
Well that makes my decision a little more tough. There are two Exclusives that I really want and I'm sure they will both go REALLY quickly. The other is the Master Replicas .45 scale Yoda lightsaber. So I guess at 10AM on Thursday I will have to make my decision which booth the head to first. : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz July 08, 2005, 09:26:06 PM I would head to the lightsaber place first I think there should be plenty of Charlie supplies and it's not been well publicised either - Star Wars fans are very enthusiastic so head there asap
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Bryanjs14 July 08, 2005, 10:01:01 PM Haha that is true! Thanks for the advice, I am going to take it. Hopefully Artbox brings enough with them to supply everyones needs (I am going with a friend, so I will be getting moe than one hopefully!)
Just in case anyone is wondering Artbox's area is 2232 : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Martyn July 12, 2005, 04:20:14 AM (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v225/Martyn1988/2a_1_b.jpg)

: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Anna July 12, 2005, 10:21:52 PM That's a neat card Martyn. ;D I can't wait to get one. :D
I wanted to mention that I had purchased all 4 CatCF tins thinking that there were 4 different tin cards. Well I was wrong. >:( There is only one tin card, T1, that comes with all the tins. : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa July 12, 2005, 10:33:54 PM Did you order your tins or get them at a retail store? I still don't see them when I go out shooping.
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Anna July 12, 2005, 10:42:58 PM I got the tins from a seller on ebay. She was selling them individually and I asked her if she would sell me a set of them.

Yeah, but those Golden Tickets sets that are limited to 70 will put a dent in your account. ;) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa July 15, 2005, 07:11:41 AM I just got my base set today - Thank you Martyn! It's really great looking. The bright colours, and purple foil really set it apart.

It is lovely by the way ;D It looks sort of embossed : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Anna July 16, 2005, 05:07:03 AM Yeah it does look better in-hand. This one has black and gold stripes with part of an embossed seal on it.
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa July 16, 2005, 05:47:05 AM Wow, part of the seal! :o Even more special!

And out of the second tin*****a Whipple Scrumptious card!! It's a plain brown swatch, but WOO-HOO anyway! ;D Since they come 4 packs to a tin, I guess the odds are 1:6 tins?
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Martyn July 17, 2005, 01:15:40 AM Are those cards in the tin's limited to 70 or can you only get them as SD?

The cards limited to seventy are SD only.: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : EmmasOneandOnly July 17, 2005, 03:19:37 AM Whats SD ???
I got a tin too but only pulled foil M6 : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa July 17, 2005, 03:39:04 AM San Diego Comic Con. ;) Some shack members went. Probably LOADS of fun.
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : EmmasOneandOnly July 17, 2005, 03:41:09 AM I want the blue retail card (forgot the name) because that ones the best looking one. I like the red one two so I hope I can get one of both of them
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Anna July 17, 2005, 05:02:59 AM He hee - you cracked very quickly Anna. Congratulations - does this take you to a master set? Thanks. ;D I have all of the cards except for the two Grass prop cards, but I'm not planning on getting them (unless someone wants to give me theirs). ;) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : LikORish-Spider July 17, 2005, 06:05:31 AM I got my new card from Tom today. 8) Well, just remember what Grandpa Joe says about money.(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/AnnaO/CatCF%20Card%20Inserts/The_Golden_Ticket_16-18.jpg) Only in your case it's 18. : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : hyescarface00 July 19, 2005, 02:46:47 PM Jeez!!! Somebody please explain to me the whole "ORANGE" foil thing. From what I understand the tins sold at SDCC contained sets that were "orange" stamped rather than regular purple foil. When i got my tin either i didnt notice a difference, or mine werent orange and i just tossed them seeing to how i already have about 30 sets. Also i see Tom has orange foil stamped promos which i didnt get with my tin?? Someone please break this down, im really confused. ??? ???
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Anna July 19, 2005, 09:53:01 PM Since I didn't buy the San Diego Comic Con Tin, I can't speak from experience, but in one of Tom's auction for one, the tin is supposed to contain the following:
CHARLIE & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY SAN DIEGO TIN SET. YOU GET: - THE CARD SET DONE WITH ORANGE FOIL. - 9 CARD FOIL CHASE SET R1 THRU R9 - MISSI PYLE AS MRS. BEAUREGARDE COSTUME CARD NUMBERED TO 720 - T1 CARD MADE JUST FOR THIS TIN So it sounds like the orange promos are not included with the tin set. :-\ Here's the auction I got the info from: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6194822821&category=219&rd=1 I would double check the base cards - they should have been shrink-wrapped as a complete set of orange foil cards (the orange and purple foil look very similar). Also you might want to e-mail Tom for clarification on what you should have got in the tin. : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Bryanjs14 July 21, 2005, 08:45:30 PM I purchased a Tin at comic-con and the previous reply is correct. It is essentially the EXACT same thing as a basic 90 card set and foil set except the Charlie logo is in Orange and not Purple. Also comes with the T1 promo and the costume card. Comes in a tin with a close up of Johnny Depp on it.
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : sketchqueen July 21, 2005, 09:01:16 PM With my Comic-Con 'exclusive set' I got the Purple Foil promo set, along with the tin and binder. I needed a base set and binder, so I was okay with it, though I was a little disappointed at the sale of "$50 Mystery bags". While I got really cool prop card in mine, the binder was for Sorceror's Stone and the box was POTA Update Retail - so it didn't make any sense. Now I have a binder with no set, and a box with no binder.
Very odd... : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa July 23, 2005, 03:14:55 AM My new retail wrapper. I got it in the last of my 4 tins. ;D

Finally bought 1 (yes :o 1 :o ) whole box off of ebay, box #5543/6000. Not bad for one box. Pulled a James Fox as Mr. Salt autograph card (yes, I know, second most common, but I think he did well in the film :) ).

Maybe not the most attractive swatch of the Wrapping Paper from Charlie's Birthday Present (#69/72), but I'm happy with it. (http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/1861/wrappingpaperfromcharliesbirth.th.jpg) (http://img264.imageshack.us/my.php?image=wrappingpaperfromcharliesbirth.jpg) I mean, it's no Golden Ticket and Johnny Depp as Wonka auto card, but I think it isn't bad for only one box. ;D : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa July 23, 2005, 11:57:35 PM Wow, what an awesome box that was! Will we see it on ebay, or are you keeping it?
"Normally I'm into Potter card, but when I heard about this Wonka things, I laid off the Potter Card and switched to Wonka cards". Why didn't I think of that?: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : darthmactor July 24, 2005, 12:08:08 AM Oh, it's a definite keeper. I'm kinda bad that way, in that unless I have multiple copies of something, I won't even trade it, let alone sell it. I'm a bad llama >:D
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Anna July 24, 2005, 03:03:14 AM Congratulations Darthmactor! What great pulls! 8) And from only one box! :o I wouldn't sell or trade the Wrapping Paper prop either if I were you. ;)

I do like the cards though. : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Anna August 01, 2005, 10:40:12 PM Bought this from the bay for $14.50 including postage. Maybe I need to replace one of my cards with one like yours. ;) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : LikORish-Spider August 05, 2005, 09:33:50 PM Has anyone seen any more CATCF GOLDEN TICKET 18 cards? It seems that only three are accounted for. Anna got one from Tom, I think it's the same one he had. There was one from Australia that was offered twice and withdrawn. Tom has another one in a master set. That leaves 15 unaccounted for. I wonder where they are? Any Yakkers secretly gloating at their great luck?

61 base cards A Front card, checklist card and 59 "puzzle-backed" cards (making up 6-piece puzzles - but how does that maths work out?) chase seems to be 12 Scratch and sniff cards: 6 Whipple Scrumptious Fudgemallow Delight cards and 6 Chilly Chocolate Creme. : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : RoscoLabri August 17, 2005, 07:39:31 PM I know the fun of collecting cards is pulling something like an Auto Depp out of a hobby pack etc, but if you are going for say the full set of C&TCF, wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy a full set (unless ofc you get ultra luck on cases and boxes) ?

It would be cheaper to buy a complete set. This is also true because some cards aren't even in the boxes. But then, some people are lucky with their pulls, I suppose. : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz August 17, 2005, 07:50:26 PM Yes Rosco, I think you are right, I think it probably would be quite a bit cheaper, unless you are very lucky! For instance you can buy 5 cases of Charlie and in all likelyhood you wouldn't get a golden ticket card - which on ebay costs a good deal less than the price of 5 cases! However you would have a good pile of other cards for the rest of the set.... there's just a lot of fun to be had opening packs ;)
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : LikORish-Spider August 17, 2005, 08:11:09 PM Then there is always the wise-guy who opens six cases and gets 5 Depp autos, two in one case. ::)

I didn't buy any C&CF, but I did get the base set and a few inserts and an auto that I really wanted. Same with Disney Treasures, although I have bought packs on sale at retail stores. So my opinion is- Yes, it's cheaper for me to buy base sets of what I want and save my money to buy special inserts that I probably wouldn't pull otherwise. *This logic does not apply to the Harry Potter cards because I always seem to want EVERYTHING, so I'm never dissapointed!* Those are just my absolute favorites and I'll probably get at least a case. And it's such a rush to pull a really great varient or rare card. I realise no one can tell what the future market holds, but will a auto be worth the same, more or less in the future in your eyes ? : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Scifi Cards August 19, 2005, 05:41:50 AM are these values going to increase/decrease or what ? I realise no one can tell what the future market holds, but will a auto be worth the same, more or less in the future in your eyes ? The short-printed autos will always bring a good price, especially if Johnny Depp continues his luck with landing film roles. Most of the rest will settle down a little bit lower than what you are probably seeing now. If one of the signers lands a big role in something though, all bets are off. Traditionally, non-sport autograph cards are a poor investment. Even the early Lord of the Rings autos are suffering from devaluation to some extent right now. Collect what you enjoy. If you are looking for an investment then you are probably better off with mutual funds or even savings bonds. ;) Ed : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa August 19, 2005, 07:10:27 AM No, I havn't, I have nearly all of the Artbox Cards, minus Wrapping Paper and Golden Ticket so I don't know why I havnt gotten them! Also as I was saying, I have 4 cards and they are; Card 1 Front side = The Show Must Go On Back side = Part of Wonka hat, looks like it is part of a big picture. Card 2 Front side = Squirrel Attack Back side = Again, another picture that will help make a bigger one, this has the letters PA in the corner (Oompa I'm guessing). Card 3 Front side = Sweet Transportation Back side = Bottom left corner of a bigger picture, think its the Grandpa wearing his brownish suit. 'Twas proabably another card that you posted around the same time :) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : EmmasOneandOnly December 09, 2005, 05:35:46 AM Could someone tell me the thickness of all these cards please, Thank you. Do you need a specific list with all the card point sizes? : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : EmmasOneandOnly December 18, 2005, 05:40:04 AM All the Charlie cards will fit in a 9-pocket page (tight fit on the Charlie Sweater card though) except for the two Grass prop cards. Yes, that would be helpful :) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa December 28, 2005, 03:39:33 AM I never intended to collect any Charlie costumes. Then my 2 kids started watching the DVD every other day and I caved. ::) Anyway, I absolutely love the few I got from Tom today. They're so BRIGHT and COLORFUL, I just think they're great!
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : EmmasOneandOnly December 28, 2005, 03:41:53 AM I'll be getting a few soon ;D
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa December 28, 2005, 03:56:16 AM You'll love them. ;D I only have 4, but my favorite so far is the Agustus Gloop shirt. The photo has a great background of the edible room from the factory and it's really colorful.
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : EmmasOneandOnly December 28, 2005, 03:59:50 AM I'm getting the Chocolate Box from the palace and thats suppose to be really pink :D

: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : rns91294 December 28, 2005, 04:04:46 AM I just read this thread, and realize, I didn't get the DVD for Christmas!! It was on my list!!!! Oh Darn. Well, the cards are lovely. Although, I have Mr Tevee's pants, and the card is probably the plainest in the set, but I do love it. I want to get the contest announcement poster now.
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : EmmasOneandOnly December 28, 2005, 04:14:43 AM Yeah, I want the poster too
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa December 28, 2005, 04:45:08 AM I don't have scans, but they aren't really any different from others on auction. Augustus' shirt is almost half red half white. The others are Mrs. Beauregarde's pants, Grampa Joe's jacket and Mr. Tevee's pants.
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : EmmasOneandOnly December 28, 2005, 07:31:12 AM Still lovely cards all the same 8)

The picture of the dress cannot do it justice. That is the best costume card I've ever seen :D The scan of the poster can ether because there is a slight discoloration of green dividing the white from black. And everyone needs to get a Wonka Bar card ;D : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : grecopa April 23, 2006, 06:19:31 AM I agree, everyone needs a Wonka bar prop! It's my favorite prop of the whole set. Also my only prop of the set. ;)

: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : cardz_house November 14, 2006, 08:51:41 PM Just saw on Tom's ebay store that he had several Charlie San Diego 2006 mystery boxes, similiar to what was done with HP. I just bought 2.
Quite interesting as there wasn't any mention at all of any Charlie mystery boxes in the event. Hence, wanted to ask yakshackers whether these are authentic. Anyone? : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Bryanjs14 November 14, 2006, 09:33:33 PM Yes they are, just not sure what is actually in them.
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : ECL November 15, 2006, 01:35:41 AM I agree about the Wonka Bar prop, it's just one of those props that everyone needs to have because of how cool it is ;D
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Bitsy November 15, 2006, 01:51:13 AM The Charlie Mystery Boxes are authentic...I think its contents include A retail box, a tin, a costume card....there might have been something else, but I can't remember what. :)
: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : gimli July 18, 2007, 10:36:12 PM I know this is an old topic but I thought this was worth resurecting it for
I bought myself a case cause i really want to complet as much of this set as I could and I just pulled a Johnny Depp auto ;D ;D ;D : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : The Razzer July 18, 2007, 10:48:53 PM no luck on a golden ticket prop then - oh well. a depp auto will have to do then :)
you don't see, well i haven't seen, many cases left kicking around on ebay. so who knows, there well could be that golden ticket lying sealed away. : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : gimli July 18, 2007, 10:57:52 PM well i don't think i am lucky enough to pull the golden ticket but I did just pull the birthday wrapping paper 19/72

: Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : gimli July 19, 2007, 12:18:53 AM I only need a few cards to complet my set now but I bet you can guess which ones
The Double Prop Card-Burlap Nut Bag and Worker Apron from Salt's Nut Factory, Whipple-Scrumptious Fudgemallow Delight Candy Wrapper One of the 4 sandiego wrapper cards (numbered to 70) (not chilly, nutty or triple) and of course the annoyingly rare Freddie Highmore Autograph and the Golden Ticket Prop card : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : The Razzer July 19, 2007, 12:24:49 PM not bad going chris.
i am just missing the golden ticket prop. Tom had one in his store a few months ago, but i passed it up for more HP cards to complete sets. so don't know when another one wil come up. price was around $1,000 too. : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Jon July 19, 2007, 12:38:57 PM Congrats on the pulls! I am jealous of the Depp Auto.
Where did you find a case of these? I am looking to buy one. If you come across anything described in this topic, can you let me know? Here's a link to the auction tracking for the set, in the Yak Shack Price Guide: http://www.theyakshack.co.uk/tradingcards/index.php?page=cardlist&set=14 (http://www.theyakshack.co.uk/tradingcards/index.php?page=cardlist&set=14) The scoop is this. When the set first came out, the "short" grass card was provided as an incentive to buyers of 25 cases of the CatCF boxes. It's a "card" but I would almost call it a terrarium. It was sent in a clear 3" x 4" x 2-7/8" tall clear plastic storage box because the movie-used prop material grows right out of the card, to a considerable height. It's really one of the neatest and/or unique incentives ever issued with a card set. But not to be outdone, Tom Breyer arranged with Artbox to produce an even bigger one for sale exclusively at the New York Toy Fair. The "long" grass card required a 5-1/2" x 4" x 2-7/8" box. Strands of plastic grass from the movie's Chocolate Room extend up to 8" (20 mm). Based on both scarcity and the "fun factor", these cards are underpriced, IMHO. The average for the last 5 sales tallied at the Price Guide for the short-grass card was US$210, for a card numbered xx/39. Take any other Artbox release with a card limited to 39 copies and it would carry a higher price. Against that, it can't fit into the binder. I still haven't figured out how to store mine long-term, so it sits there on the table ... So I guess I get to "enjoy" it even more than I would otherwise. The long-grass card originally was BINning for $199.99, but it looks like not enough people knew about it to be looking and bidding. The average for the last 5 sales registered in the Price Guide dropped to US$68. But the card is still a short print, numbered to 95, and the size makes it even more "fun" than the short-grass version. If you're intrigued by the concept and aren't put off about trying to figure out how to store or display them, I'd say those are good prices. At the very beginning the short-grass incentive card was BINning for $599.99, which is more in line with what you would expect for a #/39 card. The #/30 Pear Tree Leaves from Harry Potter POA typically sells for nearly $2000. But Charlie cards don't have as big a crossover appeal as Harry cards, and it's been quite a while since the movie came out. Against that, the Johnny Depp autograph from the series had 125 copies, and it still brings $400 at auction because Johnny doesn't sign often, and the Freddie Highmore auto (89 copies) is holding steady at about $135. Who knows what these cards are really "worth"? 8) : Re: Charlie and the Choccie Factory info : Roz August 16, 2007, 02:47:28 AM I think you are spot on Jeff :) It's a really fun card. I think I might even steal some of your text for the price guide if that's OK ;)
