Yes, I havent missed an episode yet. I started to watch it because Dominic Monaghan is on the show. Though now that I have seen the first 9 episodes I would watch it even if he wasnt on it. It is so much better than all the reality shows they have on TV now.

As I was explaining to Roz "Lost" is one of the top rated shows on TV here in the States.  The cast and story line are outstanding.  The story as you know follows a group of plane crash survivors on a remote tropical island and each week a focus is made upon a particular survivor showing the person's background and how they came to be on this doomed flight.  Top notch!!   :)

For those of you about to get immersed in Lost - or those who already are 'lost' in it :P there's a Promo out already and a Preview set comes out on the 12th of January!

A LOST set is a very, very exciting thing to me.  I'm so addicted! ;D

Tonight's episode is starting in about 50 minutes but I am taping it as I have to watch the yearly Rudolph the Red Nosed Raindeer special on another channel.  I don't think I have missed this Christmas special since I was a child!!  Come to think of it I am still a child at heart!   ;)

This is by far the best TV show on TV right now.  I wake up every Wednesday morning happy, just because I know the show will be on that night.  And I thought last nights episode was great!!!!!

Ooh - a friend gave me a DVD with the first 7 episodes on!

Woo - watched the first 3 last night :) they were top notch although I still have a feeling of "what the heck's going on".

I wonder where they are... but I don't want to say too much til it's aired in the UK.

Now that's cool!  You know I do not know how many episodes we have seen already!  I believe the series started in September and there was at least one week without a show due to another special program that ran in its place but I would have to guess at least 10 episodes so far.

Are the ones you are watching from the U.S. on ABC TV?

A question for those of you that have seen it: the guy on Dom's left, is he the guy who played the bad guy in the last James Bond film? The icicle guy? (I did not actually see this movie, just the trailers, but I don't think that is his name ;))

Anyway, I do not think we have seen 10 episodes yet.  I know it is a 13 episode season, and then there will be a few weeks without it, and i think they will come back and do the rest.  The cast only films like 4 episodes in advance so they don't even know where this is heading.

Roz, keep watching.  You have ideas after 3 episodes, but boy will your thoughts possibly change.  I have no clue where this show is going, I have so many questions, and yet, affter 3 episodes, I too thought I had it all figured out.

Hee hee - it's so hard not to discuss it - are we going to have to send out Pirate (yarrrr) DVDs to members (ROFL) or can we wait until February to chat ;)

The one kinda behind Dom is Daniel Dae Kim (Jin) I think your thinking of Rick Yune in Die Another Day they kinda look alike

The guy you are talking abuot actually has a small reoccuring role as one of the agents on the show 24 with Keifer Sutherland.

Daniel Dae Kim also had a recurring role in ANGEL for a few seasons.  Tonight the show's 11th episode airs, and then we're in reruns until January.

Roz, keep watching, because there are plenty more jaw dropping moments coming up. ;D

Most of the network shows go into reruns in December since the viewing audience is busy with the holidays. They have to draw 22-24 episodes out between September and May. LOST is doing VERY well in the ratings, so don't worry.  And yes, Savage727, you're correct. Tonight's ep is #11(AND AMAZING I MIGHT ADD)

I am just recovering after watching tonight's episode of "Lost"!  All who saw it tonight will know what I mean!   ;)

They ARE actually in the arctic, but a severe climate change episode (a la The Day After Tomorrow) that caused the plane crash made it warm... which admittedly doesn't explain the lush vegetation that had time to evolve... but let's not get into that :P

The plane flew through a split in the time space continuum, they are in fact on the isle of wight (Southern UK coast Island) in it's older days and they are sharing it with some frightening dinosaurs.

I too missed it last night - thank god for TiVo!! We had a guest over (won't go into details, but Olly knew the panic I was in!) and she didn't leave till 8:30 and then we had to put the kids to bed, so by the time we finally sat down, I was too tired to watch it :(

But remember, we learned earl;y on that they were out near Fiji, so it can not be a place that was supposed to be a cold climate.

Also, in reality, they are filming this show in Hawaii.  Just an iteresting thing I wanted to add.

Ah Hawaii - one of my favorite places on Earth.  I was stationed there for 3 years and have flown over all of the islands numerous times and visited all of the islands.  As a matter of fact I sent Roz a picture of me flying off the coast of the island of Molokai which she posted in another thread here on The Forum!  :)

I really am enjoying the story and acting in this show!

It is beautiful Roz as are all of the islands with no two being alike.  In the future I would recommend Hawaii as a place to go for your honeymoon!    :)

My best friend went to Hawaii for her honeymoon and loved it.  I have never been there, howewver I would love to take a cruise to Hawaii. My dream vacation.

Folks, I'd just like to mention that if you don't have access to the abc network but you DO have broadband and no download limit you can download episodes of Lost at http://www.suprnova.org... it's not strictly legal but the way I see it it's just like borrowing a videotape from a friend. They broadcast them for free anyway :D

It's a great show, I can't wait for the next one (although Roz tells me that I will have to wait until the new year :( )

ARRRR - me thinks we needs a few Pirates on the island!  ARRRR!!  ;)

I don't know if any of you watch the TV show 24, but this year, it premieres in January.  Why?  Becuase they normally start it in November, and need to take the 3 week bbreak near the holidays, like Lost is doing.  This year, they wanted to be able to play it straight through, so decided not to even start it until January.  Most shows have repeats this time of year.  Fine with me.....gives me time to go shopping ;)

I have no idea what this show is or what it is about (I havent read this thread at all cause there may be spoilers) but I saw an ad for it on TV last night and it looks good. It just showed a plane getting ripped to bits, basically ready to crash, then it showed the 'lost' logo with an island.....so I am assuming the plane crashes and they all get lost on some deserted island.....is this correct??

If you are of faint heart like me then might I suggest you watch it with a pet or person to hug. The whole story is told in a quite tense way.

Let's just say that when we watch these things every time things get spooky and I jump Mark gets gripped hard and fast on the shoulder or arm, making it all far more scary for him!!!

I saw a preview yesterday that next week is a new episdoe.  I checked it out on yahoo and next Wednesday is indeed a new one.

Just saw the preview for the new "Lost" episode airing this coming Wednesday evening!  It is going to be followed by the 2 hour premiere of "Alias" so Wednesday evenings are going to be very enjoyable!!   :)

I watched Series 1 at work and then Kay bought me Series 2 for Xmas.

BUT I have to watch Series 1 again with Kay before I watch Series 2.
Mind you its no hardship, especiallly as at work its only on in the background for company and I never really watch it, only hear it.  ;)

I haven't seen any other cards of the map with water marks on it like this one.  I should probably have asked all these questions prior to winning it, which I still feel very sick over.  I would have prefered the one that ends tomorrow, but I have to remember that Ryan liked this one better.  I have to keep telling myself this.

So, has anyone decided on any conspiracy theory or idea of what is going on with the people on the island?  I think Sawyer is my favorite character though Jack is not too bad to look at.
Since they keep finding metal manhole doors or something in the ground it makes it sound like there is an underground dwelling of weirdos.
Also, did anyone watch last night?  What was the deal with the Finding Nemo comment with the song Beyond the Sea from the french lady's signal?

I wonder why they didn't carry on from episode 11 with Lock and Boone (who came up with these names??) finding that metal entry door... (I guess they never do with LOST). I wonder what they have been doing from dusk til dawn in the jungle and why they finally need an axe (and of course... why are they being so secretive about it).

I wonder what was in the safety deposit box in the bank that Kate was trying to get to...??? And what's the significance of the model plane

I wonder what they are trying to hint at with the change in tidal regime that the people camping on the beach are observing... it doesn't seem to be accompanied by storms... it would be odd for it to be a seasonal thing too - especially so near to the equator...

I definitely think it is some sort of underground living space.  I too wish they would have covered more of them in this episode, but hopefully they will go there next week.  If you notice in the scenes, it looks like someone may die and that they cover more of Locke and Boone.  That is all I will say for those whp have not seen the scenes yet. I don't want to spoil anything for you.



She got the envelope with the model plane in the safetly deposit box.  But it is funny, I never even realized it until I just read your post.  It was a model plane!!  That is sort of ironic considering they were all in a plane crash.  It does have to mean something....but what?


I think this may be another hint to us viewers that something is weird about this place.  Although, why not a strange seasonal thing?  After all, there are Polar Bears on this island.  I would love for them to find out more about that and help us to understand.  


And that is why this show is great!!!  There are so many unanswered mysteries to keep us viewers watching to find out more.  I can not wait for tomorrow's episode.  I actually have a co-worker coming to my house after work tomorrow.  I already forwarned her that at at 8 pm, LOST comes on and there is no interruptions.  A little rude, I know, but I can't miss a second of this show.

Do you think we will soon find out more about the "monster"?  Also, I am still not sure I understand why Sayid lef tthe French woman alone.  I know she is a ltitle crazy, but she has been on that island 16 years.  You would think she would know a lot more of what is out there.

That's weird. Mark said that ( I must have blinked at that moment ;)) so who is the guy that she loved... and killed then? I had assumed that she had got something else out of the bank's deposit box and had to kill the Robber Guy that she had kissed (and loved?).

I know - if he had managed to persuade her to put the gun down I am sure she could have helped - first of all I am convinced she knows where they are! (if she was on a research vessel and crashed I am sure she would).

And secondly she said something like "if we are lucky it will just be a bear" when she heard a *monster* overhead. But then later she commented "there are no such things as monsters" (or similar) when Sayid wondered what could be out there.

I am very much intregued as to what the "monster" is.

And I guess "polar" bears could easily be on the island... as long as they aren't real polar bears... after all there are bears naturally living in warm climates but they aren't snowy white...

or maybe the one they shot just happened to be an albino one ;)

When she got the safety deposit box, she took a blue-green envelope out of it.  That was the same envelope the plane was in later.  She completely set up those guys who robbed the bank so that she could get to that box.  I ams assuming we have no clue who the man she loved was. I am hoping we find out more about that.

I too think the French woman knows more.  If I was on that island and Sayid told me he found her, I would be the first person to say, let's all go to her.  I mean, she may have a gun, but there are so many more of them, what could she possibly do?  It just seemed pointless to put her in one episode.  I am sure we will find out more there too.  Not only that, but I think she knows what the "monster" is, although, I think Locke does too.  I don't understand why everyone on this show seems so secretive ???

The thing that's sinister about the possible culture of people living underground on the island is that she's been there 16 years (was it?) and yet what kind of people wouldn't have welcomed her into their fold... and why live underground... hmmm (lots more questions ;))

I am sure Locke knows the monster... and he doesn't really seem to fear it either which is odd... I hope we find out more about that soon!

I wonder whether the "man she loved" might be her father, like some sort of scenario where he hirt or threatened her mother... otherwise it's very odd she had to kill him... her actions on the island certainly don't have her down as the uncurably criminal type...

I'm enjoying reading all the theories about what's going on, but I decided I'm mostly going to sit back, not think too much and enjoy the ride with LOST...It's sort of like going down a slide with your eyes closed. You have no idea what's coming, which makes it all the more thrilling.

That said, I think it's very strange that Charlie was revived (ep. 11, I think) after who knows how long with no pulse... Another of the island's magical workings perhaps?

There is definitely something up with that, but we do know there are others there since Ethan was not on the plane.  There is obviously something wrong with these people, like why do they want Claire so badly, unless they know something is up with her baby, like the psychic did.

Another reason those people are living under ground.  Maybe the "monster" won't harm the French woman like it won't Locke.  But maybe it will harm the ones living underground, like Ethan, which is why they are there.


I agree.  She seems to care a lot about others which doesn't fit her story.  Therefore, I think there is definitely more to find out about her.

Something is starnge about that as well.  He wasn't up there long at all since only moments before did Ethan tell Jack to stop following him or he will kill one of them (Claire or Charlie).  But what gets me is how did one man (Ethan) get Charlie hung so quickly when Jack and ate had such a difficult time climbing up to get Charlie down.  Maybe, just maybe.....Ethan isn't even human.  But this all goes back to what the writes said in the beginning (I read this in TV Guide), they sais that everything that happens is scientifically possible.  Is any of what happened scientifically possible?

Wow so many questions and so few answers especially after last night's episode!  :)  Interesting story about Boone's sister and what happens to him!  ;)  I heard in the conversation among the survivors that they have been on the island for 3 weeks now!  

The model aircraft that Kate had was a DC-3.  It was a civilian and military transport that has been in use since before World War II until the present time.  My only thought is that there is something hidden on one and the model that Kate had identified what airline or place to find this aircraft.  Only time will tell.  I too cannot wait to see what Locke & Boone have found with that hatch!  I also think we will be seeing Hurley's story soon as he was a riot in last night's episode!   ;)

 

Hurley was a riot last night.  I enjoyed it very much.

Still a little in shock over what happened between Boone and Shannon, and after last night, I think I like her a lot less than before.  I am trying not to say too much since I don't know if everyone got to see it yet.

I am looking forward to next week though.  It looks like the return of the Polar Bear!!

I don't know exactly how much Locke knows what he is doing. I mean he drugged Boone but how would he know what he would experience? I think the guy is a little bit crazy. He thought "Oh yeah I know - I'll drug this guy and whatever he hallucinates will obviously cure him of the obsession I assume he has got (but I haven't asked and he hasn't told me) with his step-sister." Either he's far to clever and perceptive to be credible or he's just a little bit loony.

I truly believe he's both :)

I am beginning to like him - perhaps his methods are a tad unorthodox but I sure like him :)

I got caught up in the message boards but some people are absolutely insane on there.  But I'd have to admit, there are interesting theories and ideas brought up there.  I almost feel "Lost" on the message board with all the petty fighting.

Has anyone had a look at the Diary on the website?  Any ideas?  I don't really understand why the Diary is on the website and if it is an important part of the show and should be read regularly in addition to watching the show.

I have a theory!!  Let me know what you think.  The only thing wrong with my theory is that I can not figure out what the hatch door is that the found.

Anyway, what if Locke has seen the eye of the island like he says.  In his dreams, he can walk.  On the island he can walk.  In the first episode with a polar bear, the little boy saw a picture of one in the comic book he was reading.  What if he brought the polar bear (bare with me).  What if the "monster" bear, Locke walking and even the guy who took Claire AND the French woman are all hallucinations.  What if this island brings your hallucinations to life so that everyone else can see them?  What if the french woman doesn't really exist and neither does anything else?  Okay, I know the producers said everything that happens would be scientifically possible, but my theory makes sense, right?

I think your theory sounds good.  Like the French woman could be some type of fear or issue with Shannon.  The polar bear with Walt, etc.  But how come Boone's hallucination was only seen by him and the other incidents on the island are seen by others.  Was it because Boone was alone?  We definately know from the beginning that Jack could see hallucinations because he was following his father around the island.  Did anyone else see his father?  

No I don't think anyone else could see him. But it's true, the island makes you see things. It does something to you - affects you in come way. How many episodes will the series run for, does anyone know?

I do think Boone was the only one to see it because he was alone.  I also think Jack was the only one to see his father, but if you remember, he ran in to Locke in the woods and told him what he saw and thay he thought he was going crazy.  Locke told him to go with it and follow him or something like that.  Almost as if he knew.  

However, anther thing that still gets me to prove my theory wrong is why the captain would have been killed by the "monster".

I feel like this is going to be like the 6th Sense.  In the end when we know the whole story, we'll have to go back and see all the subtle hints that led up to the end.
for example, are we sure that all members present in the plane saw the pilot and saw him die?

As far as the monster goes, did anyone see the episode Wed?  I don't think the monster has any real shape.  Granted, it startled me and I didn't get a good look at it but it was kind of like a distortion of the scenery. ???

It was a distorition of scenery, but than you have to think, Boone was seeing all that from the drugs he was given.  Is it possible what he saw wasn't really what killed the captain in the pilot episode?

Well, if in theory these are hallucinations...... Do we see parts in the episodes from the view point of a given character or as it actually is?  For example, if Boone is drugged and sees a distorted monster, does that mean that us as viewers see the island as Boone sees it or just the distorted monster?
Do you get what I mean?  Like, do we just see one aspect as Boone saw it or do we see everything as Boone sees it?

I would think we are seeing it as Boone sees it, just like we were able to see Jacks Dad as well.

As long as people watch, this show will run.  Usually the main actors sign contracts for 5-6 seasons when they start a new series, so if the ratings hold I imagine they have a few years in them...Probably 22-24 episodes per season.

Seriously? 4 years? How are we supposed to keep track of 4 years worth of programming? I hope there are some break points where most things are wrapped up somehow so we don't have to remember the plot of hundreds of episodes...

There's one thing for sure on this island... a LOT of people are having hallucinations... but I guess sometimes we don't know what's real and what isn't when we are watching.

Perhaps the homecoming in the next but one episode could be Claire coming home?? We can only hope!

I wonder if the next season will be a focus on the other 20 some odd people stranded on the island that we haven't really seen yet.  I think there are 43 or so people on the island that were stranded together and we only see stories on a portion of the characters that we know.

I was wondering what they could do next season because there is only so much they can do witht he people we know.  Going in to the others on this island that we really haven't seen, but having all the case from this season in the background would be a really good way to continue this show.

I agree that would be interesting to focus on another group of survivors for the following season but somehow I do not think that is going to happen.  I think the show will continue to focus on the current characters.

My husband heard on the radio this morning that tonights episode is going to be the most revealing.  We shall see.

Great episode.  Dissapointed that next week is a re-run though.

Walt has some sort of power or gift and I think Claire's baby might as well, after all, they apparently wanted the baby and not her.

How about the comic relief last night with Charlie and the diary?  Very comical.

I am getting the feeling that these episodes aren't going in order.  Are they jumping around to show parallel points in time with other characters or what?  Like, was that a SECOND polar bear?  
Also the clothes things.  Do they wear the same clothes for a long time?  Boone was wearing (I think) the same clothes for a while and he was wearing a different shirt in this episode.
On a different tangent, man did Claire look scary!!

Nope -they're in order. If you listen to the dialogue they're constantly saying "it's been x days" or "it's been a week since Claire disappeared" or whatever to help keep everything in line.

And yup - second polar bear, also, second reading (and subsequent burning) of comic book with polar bear in it. SO one has to wonder - will there be any more polar bears?

I'm also curious as to young Walt's apparant curiosity with making things appear that he thinks about (polar bear from comic book, bird from school book) and poor Brian led you to believe that there was more than the one incident.. ought to be interesting :)

Yep, it has to be the second white bear, especially since they were around the caves and then chasing a polar bear (since they didn't have the cave settlement when they came across the first white bear).

Hmm it's an interesting concept  - were anyone's eyes fast enough to catch whether the bird that died by hitting the winow was the same as the one he was looking at in the book? (they seemed to find that very freaky - but birds fly into my parents windows in the New Forest all the time (and leave greasey marks all over the window which annoys my mother ;))... they usually only knock themselves out temporarily but they do sometimes die (v rarely though) so I wonder why it spooked them out so much

there was a picture in Walt's book that was small, but did indeed look to have the same colors as the bird at the window.  I used to work at a petshop and one of our yellow canaries got out.  He went right in to the window.  Poor little fellow knocked himself out for a good ten minutes.  I thought he died.

I think we will see no more bears, as Walt must have been the one bringing them there, which makes sense that it could have been a polar bear, if that is what he was thinking.

Yes, Claire was without baby and all bloody too.  Apparently all they wanted was her baby.  Remember, she was in labor when they took her, so she may have been trying to find ehr way back to camp the whole time.  Poor thing.

I think Hurley is now the only one who's backstory we haven't seen. Unfortunately, next week is a rerun :'(, but there's still a lot to learn about all the characters.

Despite what has to be the worst CGI I've seen in a very long time, I loved last night's episode.

This is why I like the show 24 so much this year.  Usually it starts in october and there are loads of repeats throughout the season.  This year, they held off to start in January so they can run the whole series without a repeat.  Why can't all shows do this?

Yeah apparently we are now stuck with Claire alive (but how near death after giving birth in such a savage enviroment??... assuming that she has done) UNTIL THE 9th of FEB!

Well, the first episode has just aired in Oz, and all I can say is WOW.  I really enjoyed it, but it had me hanging on the edge of my seat-I'm no good at the suspense-type thing where you know something is out there but you just dont know what...

I look forward to next weeks ep, though ch7 are showing an encore of this episode over the weekend for those who missed it....

Well I picked up my LOST set today, very good, I just read all the backs and although it's supposed to be based only on the Pilot it's all very perceptive as to what happens later (except for the Korean lady's profile anyway).

So any ideas when we might get a new ep?

Last night's episode was a repeat about Claire and her dreams so I did not bother to watch it.  I think someone mentioned that new episodes would begin on Feb 9th here which is next Wednesday!!   :)

Ahh excellent, I think I will re-watch ep 14 on the Wed and watch 15 on the thurs or I might have lost track... obviously I have a vivid memory of what happened at the end though :(

Hello to all you "Lost" lovers!! I should have posted this in the early stages of this thread but I just wanted to point out something to you all.

As a Marine Corps Fighter Pilot with 10,000 hours plus flying time I want to let you all know that if any aircraft rips apart like the airliner did on this show there would be no survivors at all.  Heck the entire tail section came off!!  That would put the aircraft into an uncontrollable and unrecoverable spin resulting in a tremendous impact into the ground but then there would be no story now would there!  I have to think that this plays into the magical or mystical nature of the island the survivors are on.   :)

I eagerly await next weeks new episode!   :)

Well the new episode shown on Wednesday has left me with more questions now!!  For those of you who have seen it you will know what I mean - Ethan!!

Was Ethan alone ? (I don't think so), and where did Ethan come from? Was he in the Frenchwoman's party do you think? Island born's would have an accent even if they did speak English right?? And he fitted in fine.

What is it that Boone and Lock found (that underground bunker thing... and frankly the way they were banging on and around it the people hiding in there would have come out and hit them by now ;))

Do we 100% trust Locke... I have done for a while but there's something in his eye... and he did come face to face with something in the first (or early) episodes that was never explained?

Why haven't we had a background story for Hurley yet? We've had 2 for a lot of people now - Jack, Kate, Charlie etc... are they assuming we aren't interested because he's fat or something? Cos he's my fav character and I really want to know more about him. Have we had an episode on everyone now then??

Well Roz I think you hit them all!!   :)  I did not want to say too much in case one of our Forum members did not see the most recent episode.  

I am annoyed by the fact that the group had weapons to protect themselves yet through stupid actions and thoughts thought best not to distribute and use them against whatever animal and human threats were on the island until one of their party is murdered by Ethan.  Let's not even go into how many times now the group has been attacked/terrorized by animals!

Another case of to little too late especially for that unfortunate soul who was killed! I think the writers need a reality check - the group is in a survival situation in more ways than one!!  

Let's see.  Here are my opinions:


No.  I remember seeing in a scene to come on TV once, that Charlie (I think) is saying "It's not Claire THEY'RE after, its her baby!".  This leads me to believe this takes place in a future episode, where we know there are more people.


I still wonder if there even is a French woman.  Maybe it was a hullicantion.  This will be proved wrong once more people see her.

I'm really itching to see a bio on hurley now - we seem to keep revisiting characters we've seen before! Still... it's just as gripping as it ever was. Roll on next Wednesday!

Once Sawyer realized that he did indeed talk with Jack's Father in the bar I was rather disappointed that he did not tell Jack of his conversation with him and especially what Jack's Father said about Jack.

I think it would have made Sawyer a more interesting character had the writers incorporated that.  Now we learn that Sawyer was duped into thinking he was killing his tormentor from his youth when in fact he killed a person who was late in making repayment on a loan to his former "Business Partner"!!  

I agree that the golf course is a nice touch!   :)

Unfortunately still watching on the 'net. Although if it does ever make it to these shores on Terrestrial TV it'll be so far behind that I guess we'll still end up watching it on the 'net anyway! Ah well, such is life...

Well last night's episode was another with twists and turns.  Sun's background is very dark indeed.   Looks like his Father-In-Law is a real winner there!   :P   I think I saw an interesting tidbit when Sun visited the Government Minister in his home for the first time.  I taped Lost so I am going to watch it again to see if I am right.  I think I saw on the TV a shot of Hurley in a news story that the Government Minister and his daughter were watching!  If that is so then we should see an interesting background story on Hurley hopefully soon!   :)

I am disappointed that little Walt let Sun get the snot beat out of him in front of everyone as they thought he burned the boat.  It is cool how Locke seems to have a handle on everyone and knows the right things to say but I would have been more impressed if Walt owned up for his actions in front of everyone.  

What do you all think of the relationship developing between Sayeed (is that the correct spelling?) and she who will not be named?   :)

The previews for next weeks show look intense as the Survivors come into armed contact with "The Others" on the island!   :o

I am so glad you said that because it happened so fast I thought i was seeing things.  I do think it was Hurley on the TV without a doubt.  

What a great episode.

I loved the faces on everyone when Sun spoke English, and Hurley's comment "Didn't see that coming".

I also loved the comic relief at the end with the CD walkman.  And did you notice the set up with Claire pregnant in the back and Hurley close up, how they were sitting the same and both looked pregnant!!  It was so funny.

Have'nt chimed in on this thread yet but IMO Lost is the best show on US TV -- hands down !!

 Great storyline , terrific casting and a wonderful way of telling a story that keeps you off-balance , interested and waiting to see what's next ....

 I can't wait every week to see it and when it comes to a DVD collection I'm buying it for sure ....

 and yes in last nights episode I also saw Hurley on the TV in the background ---  another interesting plot line looks to be on the way ...

I seem to have named the Korean woman instead of her husband in my post but you all know what I was talking about.  

Roz the term 'beat the snot out of someone" means to physically punch and injure a person in a fight.  The word "chum" has a duel meaning - it means friend as you use it but it also has a negative meaning as I think in the way Sawyer uses it when he derides someone and calls them "chum" meaning they are someone who he does not like or respect.

The scene at the end with Hurley on the beach listening to his Walkman with Claire and Charlie in the background was very cool especially when his batteries died out.  Does anyone know who was singing on the CD Hurley was listening to or what group it was?  I liked the music!   :)

What do you all think of next week's previews showing Hurley being held at gun point?  Is that the French woman or someone else?

Well we finally got to see Hurley's story in last night's episode!!   :)  And what a story it is!!   8)  With the info learned from last night's show things are starting to fall into place and make much more sense!   :)  I am facinated by "the numbers" and can't wait to see how all this plays out!!   :)  

Unfortunately next week's episode is another repeat - the one where Ethan kidnaps Claire and hangs Charlie out to dry!  

I just wonder how many people went out and bought a lotto ticket with the "numbers"  :)  I was tempted.

I LOVE the way everything was piecing together and focussing in on the island- and I loved the fact that Hurley was so mad that even a woman holding a gun to his face wasn't going to stop him getting the answers he was seeking... what an awesome guy!!!

How can they do this to me?

I am just afraid that the season is going to end in 3 or 4 more episodes and JJ Abrams is going to leave us on a huge cliffhanger for 6 months.   I don't know if any of you watch Alias, but the Season 2 cliffhanger was unreal.  There are just two many things up in the air right now, and I think they are going to consume us with questions after the season finale.  :)

I love this show it is getting better and better with each episode but now we have to wait until 4-13-05 to see episode #19. There is supposed to be 24 episodes I think.

Roz the thing they were zooming in on at the end of the episode was the metal door/entrance thing Locke and Boone discovered.  I have to think the numbers engraved on it are the combination to opening it somehow.  Only time will tell.  And yes "doozy" means the same thing here.   :)

I think they changed it now because it looks like they are going to play two new episodes starting on March 30 and then another one on April 6. So that is better then waiting 5 weeks for a new episode.

Yes, there are 24 episodes. We get a two-part finale, and the 2nd part of that is supposed to be 90 minutes long. ;D  I'm sure we have one hell of a cliff-hanger coming.

Started here in New Zealand in February and haven't missed an episode. Since I'm a big fan of spoilers I read the episode summaries on ABC.com--I need to know!

I'm also a huge Alias fan so I have no doubt it's going to be one heck of a finale. I've found out a big spoiler for the end that already has me wildly guessing.

Well, we finally watched the latest Locke episode, very interesting, very interesting indeed.

Doesn't that just go to show how hurtful parents could be? ICK! It was a bit close to home for me (as people who know me well will know why). But I thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of it I was scared to watch - for instance I knew there had to be a body in the plane so I didn't really watch what Boone was doing in there.

I also could barely watch at the end when Locke was on his knees over the little glass door. They can clearly hear him. It seems very odd to me that they have allowed them to dig out and even to attempt to smash in that entrance.

I wish we could believe it will all be explained on Wed, but even if it is a new episode then they might just have an episode with no Locke in at all like they did when they first found the hatch.

And what about Locke, although we have found out a little more about him we still do not know how he came to be disabled. Ordinarily this would not occur from the loss of a Kidney - in theory the remaining kidney becomes twice the size and does all the work of one.

I chatted to Allan Caplan over the weekend about LOST - he's got the license of course to do the card set (as we all know - and we all have the preview set of course :P) he says we have some serious plot twists happening at the end of may (as a licensee I am not sure if he has seen them all or just been given plot info). I didn't press him for more info as it would spoil it for me. I spoiled ROTK for myself like that. And Darren (Cards Inc) is seeing 30 minutes of the Wallace and Gromit film - probably not a 30 minute slab that will be in the final film as he sees it but bits and pieces - at first I was intensely jealous of him going but I think it will ruin the film for him - although it may not be his cup of tea anyway so he's probably not bothered.

Well folks last night's show was the most depressing one for me with the tragedy that took place.  I do not want to spoil it for those who have not seen the show yet.  I do not understand Locke's actions and why he did not stay in camp after he brought back Boone!  This show also went into more of Jack's background which was interesting.

Next week's show is the final one of the season and it is two hours long.
The previews for the show showed more disturbing scenes for another member of the show!

This is what I saw from a different forum. I do not if it is right but I thought we had a few more weeks of Lost to watch.

Crap!!  I am going to miss an episode on vacation!!  Thankfully, my parents have TiVo.

I taped the show for my wife to watch as she works out of State during the week.  We are going to watch it now so I will report back what they say - I was almost sure they mentioned that next week's episode was the  Season ending 2 hour episode.

Thankfully you all are correct that there are several more shows.  I was just plain wrong.  I watched the episode again and the previews stated that there are several more episodes before the season finale but it seems my mind focused on the season ending episode and I thought next week's show was it!  Thanks for the correction and I am glad there are several more shows before it ends for this season!   :)

I think Locke didn't stay in the camp after he brought Boone back because of his deteriorating condition. Possibly because he was seen to be a strong character and he didn't want the others too see him like that, but probably because he didn't want his returning disability to burden the rest of the group. I just hope he doesn't do anything stupid...

Tonight's episode is a repeat and so is next weeks!  The show on the 27th is a one hour special so I do not know what that means.  It might be a show to bring people up to speed with the series or it might be another repeat.  I will have to wait until then to find out unfortunately!

Exactly.  I watched the show last night and it was a great primer for those who have never seen the show and want to get up to speed with the story line so far.

I know Mark but they did a great job telling the storyline so far and touched on all the major characters.

Well folks another outstanding episode last night!   :)  We now learned more information about Saieed and his past!!  I am starting to
really dislike Sharon especially after last night's show!  I loved the way Sawyer's soothing voice calmed and pacified Claire's baby!   8)  He looks so cool with those new reading glasses on!!   ;)   Jack went a little nuts too!!  Overall a really enjoyable show and it looks like the whole gang gets to see "The Hatch" in next weeks show! 

As a side note ABC is having the cast of Lost on their 20/20 News Show at 10:00 P.M. this Friday night to talk about the show!

I watched the special but did not tape it.  It was the first segment shown thankfully and ran at least 20 - 25 minutes.  They talked to all of the main characters and people involved in making the shows.  I did not know for instance that they use a group of musicians for the background music instead of a computer generated music.  That was one of the points talked about that enriches the show.  Just about the entire cast was surprised at how well the show is doing and how popular it is on the Internet.  The actress that plays Kate for example said that last year at this time she was driving around in an old beat up car with a smashed rear windshield held in place with duct tape!

The actor who plays Jin speaks excellent English and said that in 12 years as an actor he never had a kissing scene until he kissed his wife to be Jun in his background episode!  It went on like this with little bits of cool info about each actor in the show.  The creator said that many people are guessing about about the show but said that they are not dead and in purgatory and this is not a dream.  All in all a very enjoyable segment. 

That actress who plays Kate is super HOT!!!  Even if she did have a duct taped old window before the show :rofl:.

Anyway I can't remember what a was watching a few weeks ago I think it was a movie, a war movie at that and Jin was one of the soldiers in the movie and had a few lines.  I think he is American born???  *I checked IMDB and it said he was born in South Korea, but has lived in America since he was young and knew very little Korean before the show*

I am sure they won't replay it, but maybe when Lost season one comes out on DVD they will have the 20/20 special on it.

And not sure if you watch Alias Savage, but the creator of Alias also did Lost.  I never bothered to watch Alias til this year when I rented the Season one dvd, it is even better than Lost IMO.

Hehe we watched that last show last night... very cool although I felt not much actually happened... we just found out that Sharon is a little bit psycho and Jack is a little unstable and not quite as rational as he used to be. I definitely like Sayid - he keeps a real cool head about him.

Yes - everyone who likes Sayid should watch a film called the English Patient! He was very similar in that film ;)

This ep was a chance for Sayid to show he is almost as cool as Locke. Locke has finally been shown to us as a little vulnerable and fallible which makes him something less of an enigma (but he's still - as Mark would put it - "the dude").

But why why why did he knock out Sayid when they were attempting to triangulate a signal? I understand that he thought that it would only lead to more trouble but there had to be a less dramatic way to do it. I still don't fully understand what he was up to there. Nor do we have any idea what happened after the light switched on in the hatch 2 episodes ago  >:()

Nothing new about "The Hatch" unfortunately except Jack being told about it by Sayid and Locke.  Interesting additional background info about Kate!  This is one unlucky lady to be around!!  Now I know why she carries around that little airplane! That is all I will say until the rest of our Yakkers see it!    :-X

Well last night's episode was interesting with the arrival of the French woman!  We now see what "The Black Rock" is!   >:D  I can't wait to see more!  The raft is off and what will happen to those on board?  Next week is the season finale.  Great show!

Great show, is it really the last in the season next week? They'd better do some serious wrapping up! Is there another season planned? And will everything wrap up nicely in this season or will we be left with a huge cliff hanger?

Well folks what can I say!  The 2 hour season ending episode was outstanding as usual.  I know many of you have not seen it yet so I do not want to post any info until you do.  I do want to say that someone dies and some questions are answered but others are not and they leave you hanging until the show starts again in the Fall.

What did you think of the final episode?  Where does the hatch stairs lead to?  Did you notice that many of the ladders rungs are missing so it look like it is going to be one hell of a long way down?  Was Sawyer shot and wounded?  What about Jin and Michael?

Little Walt is gone but maybe they will throw him back once they see how many questions he asks!!  ;)  If those guys were "The Others" what were they going out in the open ocean in such a little boat?  Many questions need answering!   :)

Hmm I hadn't thought that the guys in the boat might be "the others". Although their desperation for taking Children makes sense.

I noticed that Sawyer was no where to be seen at the end of the episode so my bet is that he's on or holding onto the boat with Walt on. I am not too worried about Walt as I am sure Sawyer will take care of him, Hmm I didn't realise he might have been shot though  :-\

I thought it was a really interesting episode with few questions answered (yes we know that the hatch is a tunnel now and we know it has power (the power and light had to be pretty high up the ladder though as it was so bright)). It was interesting that whatever was attacking Locke and dragging him through the forest was mechanical!!!

Where do these guys get their leccy from? I know the frenchwoman had a lead coming out of the ocean but that would place it pretty close to land and fairly major if it had power too it - laying cable on the sea bed is PRIIIIIIIICEY

It will be interesting to see if you are correct about Sawyer!  I did not think about that as I thought he was shot when he pulled his pistol out as that is when I saw him go into the water.  Good points about the power - I have no answer to that one!  Why do you say the thing that had Locke was mechanical?  I did not see anything that looked mechanical.  I would be interested to hear what you saw.   :)

I reckon Sawyer HAS to be on the boat, otherwise how will Walt get out of that one??

So many questions and so few answers!  ABC is starting to rebroadcast the LOST series tonight starting with the first episode.  They moved the show from its 8:00 P.M. time slot to 10:00 P.M..  I hope this is not permanent as showing it at that time will leave out many viewers who cannot stay up that late due to work and school.  Tape it you say!  Unfortunately I know too many people who either do not know how to operate their VCR's and DVD Recorders or are too lazy to do so and then you have the folks who do not have this capability!

I guess my post about Michelle Rodriguez joing the cast of LOST was lost when we had the server issues with The Yak Shack!  New info today that Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje will join the cast of LOST as Emeke - "a mysterous man whose presence on the island - and intentions - will be revealed" early in the upcoming second season which begins September 21st at 9:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time.   :)

The London born Adewale's credits include the films "Congo" and "Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls".   

Lost starts in the UK at 8:30 on Wednesay 10th August on Channel 4 with the first two episodes back to back. I can't wait and the trailers look great.

I read somewhere that they bought it from ABC at the same time as they bought Desperate Housewives (didn't watch that either) but I know that was on ages ago - it's odd they have left it so late to show it here, but it looks like they will catch up fast if it's 2 eps a week!

After this weeks double there is only one episode per week, so next weeks tv guide tells me so maybe it will run season 1 straight into season 2 :o=

Yesterday was my first ever episode of Lost.  I saw the recap and the 1st show.  I'm totally HOOKED!  I'm going to the video store today to rent a few of the 1st season shows.  Maybe I can watch them all before next Wednesday.  :)

I for one am going to avoid all LOST information.  I'm waiting till the entire 2nd season comes out as a DVD set then I'm going to hibernate and watch it non-stop.

[SPOILERS IN THIS POST FROM LAST WEEK'S EPISODE]
A small little thing I caught with the most recent episode. Obviously we know there are Polar Bears on the island.

In the flashback with Michael, where he has finally accepted that his wife and Walt will be leaving the States, he buys a gift for Walt. He only takes it out of the bag for a second and then puts it back in....did anyone else notice that the gift was a stuffed Polar Bear? There has to be a HUGE coincidence there...It was the one big thing that really stuck with me about the episode...well that and the "others" with some pretty nasty looking weapons coming out of the jungle.

Anyone have any ideas onto what is going on? I know a WHOLE Lot will be revealed next week...I remember reading that basicly the first three episodes of the new season are going to be pumped full of twists and turns and also reveal a TON of information.

Yeah, it was a polar bear!  Good catch!  Also somone on the LOST forum saw that the shark had the same emblem on it that was seen in the inside of the hatch.  My friend Pam did a frame by frame and said that it is definately there.  WEIRD!

Well at first I have to say Roz and I were a bit sceptical - logos on sharks? Pah... we even watched it twice and didn't see anything. It was only when we watched the bit where the shark swims by in slo-mo that we saw it on its tail - the shrieks of exclamation probably woke the neighbours!

the only thing that I can think of is that all of it is some kind of set up. Which I would be greatly dissapointed if it was. The whole time we've just been watching a dramatic version of Survivor lol.

What was the list of scientist mentioned in the show last night?  Anyone remember?

I can't remember the scientists, but I didn't hear anything in the film about something bad happening if you don't transmit the numbers.  ???  They didn't really say what would happen.  They only said there was an "incident" and now you need to enter numbers in the computer.  Seems sort of like a safety measure to me to make sure everyone is still ok.  Maybe if they stop entering #'s someone will come and rescue them.  ???
You're right Roz, there was blood from the shark.  After last nights show I think it's all part of the biology experiments that were going on that we saw in the film.

Hooray that Rose's husband is alive and kicking, although isn't it strange the way they are shoring themselves up - wouldn't you think he'd say "oh thank the Lord she's alive (it seems plausible after all we learned that they are both Christians in the early part of series 1) and ask one of our crew to take him to her... why attack our survivors in this impertinent manner?

There does seem to be a little more to it though, there were 23 (?) or so of them at first and they looked like they had about 10-12 still alive! Are they being attacked by boar/polar bear? Or what about the disease that was talked about before (the hatch had quarantine written on it)

There didn't seem to be anyone lying down / being attended to - but if they don't have a doctor in their group then perhaps they have suffered a little more badly than our own group!

I think it is the others. I think that the real "others" have been killing off the new tribe of people one by one, and that is why they have lost so many. Just a guess. Hopefully we'll find out in two days

It seems like it's something along those lines. I wonder whether the whispers in the forest that people have been hearing are from the "lost boys" group (the others, the people with young or female looking legs, and a bandaged teddy bear) - but if they were so brutal (remember the corpse that Jin came across?) then how come our group have remained unscathed?

And how come Locke's not had any more trouble with his legs recently? Do we assume when he took Boone to the plane he had strayed too far away from what was helping him heal? Is it possible the electromagnetic field's healing properties are keeping him on two legs?

I have been away from The Forum for some time but have been watching Lost and enjoying the new shows.  I like the new cast characters very much and am waiting with baited breath to see who the next victim is next Wednesday.  I am not going to read the spoiler area but does anyone have a guess?  Mine is the blond haired lady from the other set of survivors.  Not sure why I chose her but I am hoping that it is not one of the regulars!

Yeah me too - if it was Sawyer it would break the hearts of a lot of female fans of the show, although to be fair that wound is getting worse.

I know what you mean about the blond lady - she was on my list too, somehow she seems nervous and weak, and she's just been placed in the group recently - they killed off the teacher (the dynamite guy) in much the same way.

I worry that it might be Bernard though - because the people of LOST might enjoy the irony that he survived a plane crash and so did his wife but then later didn't make it - poor Rose - that would be awful, although there could be a touching moment when she gave him back his wedding ring (she wears it around her neck on flights because his hands swell with the altitude - or so the story goes)

OK guys, so after the long wait, we are finally about to see the next episode of LOST... it's not long now - we'll find out who dies :(

Addition @ 10:08 est:  Just saw the new show.  The flashbacks gave me more insight into a character I wasn't quite fond of, but now I feel sorry for.  I wish the LOST episodes were at least 2 hours long.  The story was good, but I didn't get any really helpful info from it.  I think next weeks episode will explain a whole lot, though.

Well my guess as to who would get whacked in last night's episode was way off the mark!  The news headline here today is "Spoiled Daddy's Girl gets killed on LOST".  Friendly fire is never a good way to go!   :'(   The previews for next weeks show say it is going to be a extended show following the new set of survivors and what happenned to them.  Should be a good one.

First of all - don't be too certain Shannon's dead. The tagline says "Someone gets Lost forever" - we have both Sawyer and Shannon "mortally" wounded - and Cindy is AWOL. So  I think it'll be at least another 2 weeks or so before we find out the "truth"

On another conspiratical note - my husband has a theory - notice how all the adults WITHOUT children are connected. Jack allowed Shannon and Boone's father to die. Locke most likely worked for or shared the same boss as Hurley. Shannon was the cause of Sayid's detainment at the airport, etc. etc. etc. HOWEVER  none of the parents (Walt's Dad or Claire) have been connected to anyone else. Perhaps the sole reason for them being on the plane in the first place was for their children. It seems The Others take the children first for whatever reason we know both Claire's baby and Walt to be "special"...

Just another conspiracy theory though :)

Someone at my offices has a good theory as well, although, it would say that Shannon is definitely dead.  It seems everyone on the island has some sort of unresolved issue.  Like Boone, he could not get over his "step" sister.  When he finally learned to give up and move on, he died.  Now Shannon, she always felt no one believed in her.  As soon as she learns Sayid does, she dies......  It makes some sort of sense.

I think Sawyer is fine because in TV Guide, he had an interview and mentioned how he bought a house in Hawaii (where it is filmed) so I don't think he is dying....

As for Cindy, not really sure what happened to her, but I don't know her enough to care really, but after last night, I feel bad for Shannon and they way she was treated.  Was pleased to see Boone again though :D

That is what he said towards the end.  He said something different in the tent.

I don't think it was a different language.  The first time Shannon saw him (a few weeks ago) he said something you couldn't make out as well.  A local radio station took it and played it backwards to discover, when played backwards, it said "push the button, no buttons bad"...referring to the button in the hatch since that happened right after that.  This morning, I turned the staion on and all I caught was that he didn't say it backwards this time, but I missed what he actually said.  Apparently, they know.  I just emailed them to find out.

It's backwards.  He says "They're coming, and they're close."

I thought it was a great episode last night, and if before the episode you would have told me that Shannon got shot, I would have been happy.  But, after watching it with her past and Sayid telling her he loved her, I feel bad that she "might be lost forever".  I think there is a good chance she is, as she took a gunshot to the chest/gut, and that will be hard to fix for the good doctor with his limited supplies, however we are unsure as to what kind of medical supplies he has in the hatch, so there still may be hope for Miss Shannon.  As for Sawyer, I agree that it is not his time yet, and "the island" is not ready to take him.  I was hoping that they would backtrack to the plane wreck and show what happened with the tail section survivors.  I think that after next weeks episode I will have a different opinion of Ana (Michelle Rodriguez), as right now I am hoping Sayid shoots her, but I think we will see that the island, and the others, have hardened her quite a bit.   Just my theory.  What a great show!!!

It did harden her a bit, because she didn't seem like that when Jack met her at the airport bar.

As for what Walt said, Kelly, are you sure?  Because I know that is what he said at the end, but in the beginning, the first word sounded like Swallow or Follow, which backwards does not fit in to "They're coming, and they're close".  And when he did say that, was he talking about the Others or Michael and all them?  And why was he making himself seen to Shannon and no one else until now?

At the end of the show we see Sayid with Shannon in his arms in one shot, and we see Anna Lucia with the gun in another shot.  BUT-we don't see a shot of all of them together.  Is it possible that the writers are tricking us and that Shannon was shot by someone OTHER than Anna Lucia?  And do I need to put spoiler tags in my posts at all now?  I'll check on what Walt said again.  THere are people on the LOST forum that do the sound then post it.  Back later.  ;D

Sorry to double post, but Shannon ran off into the jungle screaming Walt's name.  Then Sayid ran off screaming Shannon's name.  Wouldn't Michael have said, "WAIT!  Don't shoot! I know those people coming through the brush!"  ???  But it is just a TV show and not real life, so maybe not.

Thanks for the thread. However, it says that the first time we saw Walt again he said "Don't push the button, the button is bad".  This is false.  I heard it several times with my own ears on the radio station that he said "push the button, no buttons bad".  There was no "don't" before the word push...... I almost posted in that forum, but i will let them believe what they want and just post my opinion with you all.

Walt seems to be under some spell, or something, because if he wasn't he would have ran into camp the night he was in Shannon's tent, Walt is definetly not himself.  I should have just waited until Season 2 came out on DVD, the suspense is just too much for me.

You're absolutely right about "the button's bad" thing that Walt said.  Honestly I don't even believe half of the posts and spoilers from that forum.  I think a lot of people just like to post nonsence. 

But here's something that I saw from last season that anyone who has the DVDs can look up for themselves.  The episode when Locke is getting pulled underground by the monster and Jack is trying to pull him out...well, right after the explosion there is a cloud of black smoke which swirls around.  Freeze and go frame by frame and you'll see 2 EYES in the smoke.  I actually saw it first myself when watching the episode on DVD, and then I looked on the LOST forum to see who else had seen it.  Suprisingly, only one person posted about it and no one believed them.  It's amazing, those people on the LOST forum will post the wildest theories, even down to Vincent the dog killing Shannon  :rofl: but they couldn't see those freaky eyes!  Please let me know if anyone sees it too
I'm not so sure it's actually Walt in the flesh.  I'm not sure how, but he may be communicating with Shannon without actually being there.  I don't think he's a ghost either though.  ???

Zach, I don't think that is actually Walt.  Think about it.  He has special "powers" right?  So maybe he is not there in the physical form but is some how astral projecting himself there.   Maybe I watch Charmed too much :P

I think it's because she has Vincent.  Walt has this thing with animals.  The bird that flew into the window, the polar bears showing up after he read the comic, and Vincent always seemed to know what Walt was telling him.  Whoever "inherits" Vincent better keep looking for Walt!

I wonder who will take Vincent now that Shannon is gone...although, Michael is there so maybe him?

Each time Walt appeared PRIOR  to the end of Wednesday's ep. he was dripping with some kind of icky goo, appeared and disappeared suddenly and spoke backwards. At the end. of Wed's ep - he wasn't speaking backwards - he clearly said Shhh :) Not hhhS and we saw him turn to run away. I think he was there, probably with the Others who were there too whispering and was trying to warn them to BE QUIET ;) by the way - if an astrally projected child with super-human powers tells me to SHHH... I'm darn well going to Shhh and not run screaming!

I also like the theory about finishing business and then "moving' on ...

Good theory on Walt, but was he talking about the Others or the Tail section group?  Either way, I agree, I would not have gone running and screaming.  Even Sayid looked freaked out. And since she was screaming, why is it that Michael and Jin did not recognize her voice?

Well I took my time to catch up as I visited my parents this weekend but I finally saw this last night... I agree, we now have one more missing rear section person, we have Sawyer in a partial state of consciousness and we have Shannon mortally wounded (or not?) anyway, at least they are less than a day's walk away from the good doctor.

Like Kelly says - the story is only half finished, we need to know whether Shannon had her one chance to make on her own in life (the internship) ripped away from her by her father and her stubborn-ness not taking from Boone (which you can understand).

All I can say is folks - you ALWAYS need a will! I'm off to make one  ;)

Shannon has in fact bit the big one.  Anna Lucia is in a whole heap 'o trouble.  Looks like no conspiracies tonight, everything that we saw last week did indeed happen.  But WOW!  What a chilling 40+ days the tailenders had, and the new info on the others is very interesting!  Next week looks like a good one too.  ;D

And we see where the Teddy Bear comes from that one of the "others" was carrying, which was probably the original owner still carrying it when we see it later in the jungle.   My question is how did the "others" know that the plane was going to crash, or was it just dumb luck that the Other who came running out of the jungle was that close to the wreck when it happened?

I think the tail enders crashed much cloer to where the "others" are living.  My guess is they saw it or heard it and sent him.  But remember, Ethan showed up right away too on the other side....

I want to know why the "others" were so easily killed last night by the people on the tail end (unless they are slaves of the "others".  I also want to know what they are doing with a 20 year old milatary knife.

We also know that the children are "okay and in a better place", and they are only taking the "good" people....

I just wonder what they have in store for us NEXT!

I was very happy to see Rose reunited with her husband!   :)  You can see that Jin and Sun also have bonded again.   :)   Sawyer is not out of the woods yet as he was septic which in most cases leads to death - unfortunately I have first hand experience dealing with this!   :'(  Mr. Echo looked like he was in dreamland when he went into the Hatch area seeing what was in there.  I like his character a lot.  Ana Lucia character is riveting!  She definitely has issues to deal with as does Sayid!  Wow I love this show as who knows where we are going with it!  I have a feeling that "The Others" are connected to The Dharma Project in some fashion as members or their offspring.  And when will we see the dude Jack knew that was in The Hatch again?

Yep, it sure was a good show!  I'm really glad we got more insight into Anna Lucia.  It looks like she'll do most anything to protect children.  I think she's going to spearhead the attempt to find out what happened to them all.  8)

Mr. Eko or Echo is turning into one cool character!  I loved the sequence of Locke. Michael, and Eko watching the tape and later Eko telling the story to Locke and producing the missing video tape!  All this while Michael is checking out the computer and the missing video tape saying to never use the computer to try and communicate and there is Michael using the computer to communicate with Walt!  Can't wait for this week's show.  I also liked the story about Kate and why she is a criminal.  This series has more turns than an Alfred Hitchcock movie!   :)

Yep, that was a terrific episode.  I've been waiting so long to see Kate's story and I wasn't dissapointed.  :o  I just can't figure out that horse!

Remember when the Marshall was transporting Kate in the car in the evening and it was raining very hard.  The Black Horse appeared in the road and the Marshall swerved to avoid it crashing the car.  That is when Kate pushed the Marshall out of the car and made her escape.  Other than that I too will have to wait to see the significance of the Black Horse.

It's no great shakes, but they say that the Dharma initiative have around 6 different bases on the island (the hatch and the hut of the tail-end folk are just the first two).

The Dharma initiative were conducting lots of ecological (zoological) and psychological tests on the island.

Which partially explains the appearance of a polar bear in the early episode. I suppose the electromagnetism (which is known to have healing powers) suggests a reason for why Locke can walk, and we must presume that when he was with Boone at the Nigerian plane he was too far away from the source of the electromagnetism and lost the ability to walk.

Another thing they mention (which I don't think that we knew) is that Mr Eko is Nigerian, (although his accent isn't a South (Christian) Nigerian accent like I have heard before (the North of Nigeria is Moslem and I wouldn't know that accent, but he's definitely a Christian Mr Eko so he must be from the South),it sounds more like a Ghanan accent  anyway the point is that the plane (full of heroin) was from Nigeria? Coincidence? Hmm I'd never like to put anything down to coincidence from this show.

Gee I was all set for watching LOST tonight when they showed a repeat episode!   >:()   It is frustrating when they do this in the prime Fall TV season when you expect first run shows.  The episode they showed was the one about Hurley winning the lottery and Jin, Michael, and Sawyer being held captive by the other survivors.

Last evening's new episode was one of the best in my opinion.  I will not say much for those of you who have not seen it yet except to say that this one tells the story of Mr. Eko and what a story it is!     :-X     Charlie also plays into the story as well.    :P

Terrific show!  I thought Eko's story would be good, but that was not what I was expecting.  It was great!  Poor Charlie.  :'(  I predict a turn for the worse!

Yeah, poor Charlie.  He's hoarded a lot more of the virgin mary's than we realised which means he's struggling more than we thought. And it's not like he buried them somewhere out of sight. He keeps them close.

I thought maybe that he just had one VM as a testament to how far he had come, and the fact that it was still sealed was a really good sign.

Mr Eko's story was far and above anything I could have expected which also (finally) explains why he wasn't taken by 'the others' as one of the "good" people - in the raid. However I think there must be a huge gap between what happened in last night's episode and the Mr Eko we know on the island, so there's lots more to come.

I was VERY interested as to why he was not scared of 'the smoke', was that just his faith in God? Or was that something more? What I also don't understand is why he knew it was coming in enough time to get Charlie up the tree ???

I was kind of dissapointed that the "monster" we've wondered about for a season and a half turned out to be a cloud of smoke. I mean, I know pollution is a serious problem but come on!

Have you folks been following the legal proceedings against two of the LOST actresses?  Both have been arrested and faced court dates for drunk driving in Hawaii.  The actress whose name fails me - she plays the Psychiatrist survivor from the tail section pleaded guilty and loses her license, pays a big fine, and must undergo counseling.  The other actress plays Anna Lucia and apparently she is a lush and has a major problem with drinking as she has been convicted of drunk driving in California several times.  She pleaded not guilty in court and was on probation for a drinking problem already so if she gets convicted which she will as the evidence is there to convict her, she may be going to jail and thus ending her part on the show.  If she goes to jail I wonder if the show producers will have her character killed off?

What a shame, here is a young actress who has it all and frets it away.  Hawaii has strict drunk driving fines and penalties for those convicted. 

Yes, I have been following this, and I think it's a great shame.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and mine is that I find it rather hard to have sympathy for drink drivers. People with a drink problem deserve more sympathy than they get (people see it more as a weakness than a sickness really, and it may start as a weakness, but it is a sickness and is related so deeply in other problems) but I still find it hard to sympathise with drink drivers. If you can't react quickly enough you can kill someone on the road, or leave them in a state worse than death. Your weakness or sickness should not be allowed to have a profound negative effect on someone else's life.

So although I will miss them on the show if either of them has to 'do time', I think it's only fair.

What happened with Michael?  Did "them" capture him?  I didn't know if I was missing something or they didn't indicate anything about it.  It was a good episode, I hope Julie Bowen (jacks wife) signs for one of the sets.  She has been in a few movies and has done a lot of TV shows.  She is smokin too :-*

Many, many people have written replies to my blogs.  Literally TENS

But no one, NO ONE!, has ever thought to ask "Dwight" what his

Watch and learn:

First off, Sawyer is way cooler than Dr. Jack and could kick his 
doctor a$$ if they had a throw down.  And this new enormous African 
fellow, Eko could kick both their a$$es in a pinch.

Kate could kick the little blonde mom’s a$$.  And she could also kick 
the fat guy’s a$$.  And the old bald guy too.

The Korean guy could probably kick the black guy’s a$$, as well as 
his son who is missing.

But Eko could probably kick Kate and the Korean guy’s a$$ together at 
the same time.

Therefore, I think Kate and Eko should hook up. (plus it would be 
kind of funny, because he’s so much taller than she is.)

1)    I think the "others" are actually the employees of Oceanic 
Airlines.  Who has ever heard of Oceanic Airlines!  I think it was a 
fake airline that purposefully crashes and does experiments on it’s 
passengers.

2)    I think that the Dharma Initiative would make a cool band name.

3)    I think the polar bears are actually hippies from the Dharma 
Institute in polar bear outfits.

4)    I think the asian guy from the Dharma film is the Korean guy’s 
dad.  Think about it.  They’re BOTH asian.


Those are but some of my many theories.  Remember, they are theories 
and not fact.

That is so funny Kelly I do watch the office and although I thought it wasn't very good at the beggining it is much funnier now.  I believe this is basically a copy cat of the UK original show.?.?  Dwight is by far my favorite character, he makes the show.  Especially the holloween episode where he was the Sith Lord :rofl:

Does anyone know what's going on with Kate and Jack? We all love Sawyer but does anyone get the impression that Kate thinks she's settling for second best? I do. BUT in previous episodes when she kissed Jack and I guess she was looking for a spark or something I thought that she had decided on Sawyer for good.

Sawyer will understand her better and judge her less, but somehow Jack seems like a cut above (morally - not in the looks department, although I think we have yet to find out why he wasn't taken by the others). I don't know why he seems 'a cut above' since he's acting like a nutter in series 2, controlling, ill-advised etc etc.

I've also noticed a decline in the awesomeness of Locke. He hasn't had the opportunity to show himself as an excellent advisor (if not a leader) or as a protector/huntsman etc now he's taken on the hatch. It's a shame.

Sayid was completely left out of the last escapade which is very unusual. I don't know - I think the group is losing a little cohesion, people aren't playing to their strengths any more, and it is causing chaos.

I do not know about anyone else but I am fed up with Michael for being such a twit on the show!  I could now care less if he ever comes out of the jungle after what he did to Locke & Jack.  I was disappointed in the meeting scene with The Others as nothing was explained about them at all except saying "This is our island" - wow now that's news!   ::)

Yep, totally agreed. He constantly talks about "his rights" as a father, but as far as I can see he was never there for Walt (yes it wasn't entirely his fault) but if I were Walt I'd be furious at this stranger wandering into my life and telling me I had to respect and obey him, when he had earned no respect from me, even children need a reason to look up to someone.

He constantly thinks solo and just does everything on a whim, there's no team co-operation with Michael and like you Ed, it's getting my goat now.

He's my least favourite character, I love pretty much all of the rest of them :)

Dare I say it, but I get a little tired of Jack and his rigid righteousness. I think he's a jerk a lot of the time...Michael doesn't bother me as much.  I would like to see more of Claire. Except for the one episode in season 1, I think she's the one we know the least about.

Oh good point EveH, I do like Jack but I also agree, he was so reluctant to become leader and now he revels in it, he doesn't find it easy but hates anyone challenging his unofficial leadership or even trying to give advice, and doesn't even heed advice from even our most perceptive Lost-ees - he seems to have some grudge against Locke which prevents him from listening to a word he says ::)

Last night's episode was weird.   :P   In fact I have been noticing a disturbing trend in the second season episodes - to me they are not as good as the first season's shows with the exception of the Mr. Eko episode which was top notch.  It seems like the writers have changed the characters and they are not acting the same.  Roz and others have pointed out things about Jack, I am miffed with Michael's actions and now Charlie is going off the deep end in last night's show.   Does anyone else agree or do I need to have a few cocktails before each show?   ???

I agree.  From the previews I thought Charlie was back on the drugs, but now that we know he wasn't it's very strange behavior. 
Something interesting though: I think Hurley might remember Cindy from somewhere other than the flight.  Maybe the hospital?

Actually, I think the quality of the writing is even better than season 1. IMO, it's only gotten better. ;D

Perhaps the character change isn't entirely coincidental. I think this team of writers and producers etc seem very very clued up and I do wonder whether we should be looking deeper into this!

Harping back a few eps, to Kate's original crime episode where she sees the black horse, and they find another part of the Dharma Institute info tape - my thought is that if this were a computer game there would be more bunkers on the island with more bits of the tape...

For sure we know there must be another bunker with linked computer in the control of the adult "others" that Walt has been using (or someone posing as Walt possibly)

I am wondering how much JJ Abrams is involved in the writting of the show right now (I assume he was very much so in season one, but this may not be a fact so please let me know if he wasn't).  I am just guessing that since he took the Director role for MI3 (which I believe just wrapped filming) I don't see how he could be as in control as before.  I don't know this is just a major guess on my part as I think season 2 has been a little weeker, though it has had opportunities to expand in areas that would have been really interesting.  Maybe they just don't want to give us too much info too fast.

My thoughts exactly Kelly!!!   :P   The management of this show with constant reruns is taking the life out of it for me.  Either you have a series and run it through uninterrupted the way it should be, or you risk losing an audience.  I know I have "lost" my great enthusiasm for this show the way it has been handled.  Now the Winter Olympics are almost upon us and they are being shown here in the U.S. on NBC for a bit over 2 weeks.  You can bet I will be watching the Olympics and taping "LOST" unless they show more reruns!   :P

A lot of shows are in reruns right now.  Isn't there a period of February sweeps coming up?  Maybe the networks are holding back first-run episodes to compete against the Olympics.

I am not aware of any February Sweeps and I do not think it is a good strategy to hold back shows if it was the case.  The Olympics are a huge draw here in the States.  Anyway I am excited about the Olympics as one of our towns sons and a friend is on the U.S. Ski Team - Bode Miller who won 2 Silver Medals in the 2002 Winter Olympics and who was last years World Cup Ski Champion - a first for an American.  He has a shot to win 5 Gold Medals in Alpine Events.  We have "Bode Fever" here in town and the State of New Hampshire!

There are three "sweeps" periods every year - November, February and May. Networks typically try to air what they feel is their strongest programming during those times. So, often they will NOT air repeats during these three months.  How well a network does ratings-wise during one of the "sweeps" periods determines how much they are allowed to charge advertisers, so sweeps are a big deal to the networks

Well Eve thanks for explaining to us how networks operate.  I still thinks the strategy stinks and if I ever get a TV phone survey I will say so.  Am I suppossed to be happy with ABC that they cut up the season and insert reruns when they want just so they can charge advertisers more?   I don't think so.  I have lost interest in the show because of this ploy.  I am not sitting around like Pavlov's dog waiting for a new episode of "LOST" so I can salivate.  If that is what the networks want I am not their man.   :P   

If it weren't for my friends talking about the episodes as they air, I would just wait for the DVD's and watch them at my own pace.

Great show tonight!  Did you catch what Hurley said to Sayid when they were listening to the music?  That fits right in with a theory I came up with after watching the first series on DVD.  I think they traveled back in time somehow. 
For the record, I predict that the show will end with them being rescued years before they crashed.  Everyone will have a chance to redo what went wrong in thier lives before they were stranded.  Kate won't kill her stepfather, Sawyer won't steal from his girlfriend, Hurley won't play the numbers, on and on and on.....

JJ Abrams said that its not a dream, it's not purgatory, and it's not time travel per say.  I'm not exactly sure why he added "Per say" onto the end of the time travel theory, so I'm not giving up on the theory totally.  Maybe it's not strict time travel as in they flew back in time, then crashed.  Maybe it's something a little more subtle than that.

They weren't anywhere near the Bermuda Triangle though...

And all I had to say during the last 5 minutes was D-ah-ah-mn...  Sawyer being Sawyer!

Ok, so, I just rewatched the episode 2 times, because I felt this episode REALLY had some things in it that NEEDED to be figured out. And there are definetly a couple of REALLY weird things in this episode

First off, a simple observation.
In the Sawyer flashback when he is in the resteraunt with his partner....did anyone notice who the waitress was? It was none other, that Kate's mother...hmmm....strange?

I've noticed in the past that books actually could be giving clues about little things that we do not notice. While in the hatch Locke is looking through a book called "An Occurance at Owl Creek Bridge" I did not notice this until the 3rd time watching the show, but I read this story in my Senior English class. It is about a soldier who dreams of escaping a hanging but at the end, you find out he is actually dead. Sound familiar? Well, think back to Season 1, if my memory served me correctly, None other than Charlie survived after he was hung from a tree. Yeah, really strange.

The song that Sayid and Hurley hear on the radio is a song by Glenn Miller, Glenn Miller...well, he mysteriously dissapeared in 1944 while flying from England to Paris. Also, the radio Call letters WXO are very similar to call letters used by American armed forces during WWII Yeah, even stranger.

Wow I didn't really notice any of those things, I need to start paying closer attention to the episodes, I am usually doing multiple things.  My thoughts have been that it is some sort of crazy behavioral science experiment.  And different people have been pulled to the island by some electromagnetic force (wasn't that in the hatch) and the Darma expirement has introduced different things into the environment IE Polar Bears, etc to see how they will adapt and interact on the island.

The others might be a group who were also "lost" on the island, or could be participants in the experiment.  It certainly is interesting how everyone seems to be linked one way or the other.  Didn't the guy Jack met in the stadium, who was in the hatch, say he was preparing for a boat trip around the world?  He must have been pulled to the island, but someone had to be in the hatch before that...right?  And weren't there supposed to be teams of two entering the numbers in the computer?  Where was the second original person in the hatch?   I really must pay closer attention I am missing alot of these things.

Very interesting theories put forth by you all.  I guess I am breaking away from the pack as I was very disappointed with most of the episode particularly the change in character of many of the main actors to include Charlie - I hated his role in hurting Sun -, Sawyer - his new role as Sheriff and stealing the weapons -, Locke - who seems to not have a clue anymore -, I guess I could go on and on.  I said it before and I will repeat my thoughts that the season two episodes seem so different from the way the first season characters were developed.  It does not seem to me the same people are writing and directing the show.  I have not enjoyed most of the season two episodes nearly as much as I did the first shows. 

I made the very same observations as Bryanjs14 did.  Now if they did indeed go back in time to some point during World War II being as they are in the Pacific we should see the Japanese invading the island at some point.  Now that would be interesting and hold my attention!   :)

I just checked the show schedule on lostmedia.  If they're correct, then it will be an new episode this wednesday, followed by a repeat of the season 1 pilot the wednesday after and another season 1 episode on the third wednesday.   >:()

Ed, I totally share your observations on Season 2 being not as strong as season 1.  I could be off, but my guess as to the cause of the is JJ Abrams isn't as involved in the day to day writing and final scripts of the show this season (again this is all my speculation I really don't know anything for sure).

Seeing as how he has been busy with directing Mission Impossilble 3 I think that has been the biggest issue with Lost.  I just don't think he has time to be that involved compared to the first season.  It seems like the same thing happened with Alias, he started getting wrapped up with Lost and it took away from the quality of Alias (that is just my guess) of course it didn't help that JG got prego's either.

I don't know the whole March Madness schedule but the first round of games starts on Thurs and Fri the second round is on Sat and Sun.  I believe that takes it down to the sweet 16 so 8 games and I think those are on Thurs and Fri again, which takes it down to 8 teams 4 games Sat and Sun.  Then I think the final game is on Tuesday??? OR maybe that one is on Wed night.  I am not sure why March Madness would interfer with Lost, but I have been wrong before we will know the complete CBB schedule on Sunday.

I believe since Lost only has a certain amount of episodes left in season 2 (maybe 8?), ABC is saving most of them for May sweeps, which means there may be 2 new episodes in March, 2-3 in April and 3-4 in May.  This was just something I heard a month or two ago, and I'm afraid it may be coming true now, yikes!  The basketball tournament will not have any games on Mon, Tues or Wed, except for the final game on Mon, April 3rd, but that's on CBS...

Wow, what an episode...best one of the season? In my mind yes. Couple things just thought I would mention.
The Lockbox the money was in was 1516, the same as Kate's lockbox and of course, two of the numbers
John is inspecting a house for a woman, that woman, is the woman Sayid was trying to find.
THEORY (and I may be way late on this lol): John's father, Anthony Cooper, is the illusive Sawyer. Think about it. His age is right to fit the part, and he is a con man. In case you forgot, Sawyer's mother was conned when he was a little boy, and his father found out, killed his mother and then shot himself. James later took on the name of Sawyer, when he became a con artist also. His reason for being in Australia was that he was told that the man he was after, the original Sawyer, was there. I really truely believe that Locke's dad was the man that caused James to loose his mother and father

Nice catch on the lock box #. ;D  I didn't see that.  I knew the woman at the house looked familiar, but I couldn't place her, so thanks for the info.  I've thought the same thing about Locke's dad for awhile now.  When they went to the funeral tonight I thought, "oh well, there goes that theory".  But now I believe it more than ever that he's the real Sawyer.

Now we know a whole lot more about alias "Henry Gale", but we still don't have the full story.  Next week looks really good!  :o

Well, if you have a TIVO then pause it and take a look. To me, it looks like a map of all of the different Hatches.
There is a circle on the bottom that looks like it says "HERE" as in YOU ARE HERE in it. All of the circles lead to a center circle with a large question mark in it, so every hatch has a passageway to something we definetly know nothing at all about. I could only assume that the entrance from the Swan Hatch is the wall where concrete had been layed all the way even under the floor.

So there is definetly some HUGE stuff going on in tonights episode. and I am so happy we get three new shows in a row lol. Next week could be really really good.

I agree with everything you both have said and saw!  It was a cool show.  Who is the dude posing as Henry?   ???   The tie ins are amazing with this show!   :)  We have not heard anything about Michael since he took off to find Walt - anyone have any idea what is going on there?  How about that parachute drop of food on the pallet?  It could not have been there very long especially in a tropical environment with heat and rain!  So many questions so few answers! 

NO clue about Michael or Walt. "Henry Gale" is obviously an other. He got caught in the trap, and had to make up the story, or maybe he was even sent there by the others knowing that they would eventually find out who he was.

Well, here are my assumptions about the food drop. The blast doors go down in the hatch, locking Locke and "Henry" inside. I believe that whoever sent the food, thinks Desmond is still there, the doors are to make sure that Desmond cannot get out of the hatch and see what is going on outside IE the food drop. Now, who the food is for...that is really the question to ask yourself

Same reason Jack never told her about a lot of stuff, same reason most people do not know about (well they do not) Henry when they first locked him up...there are just secrets that everyone is keeping.

But about last nights episode! So go back and watch the episode. The picture that the doctor shows Hurley that he took of him and dave, well, watch when he takes the picture, then look at the picture, it is COMPLETELY different. When the picture was taken it was daytime, and the polaroid looks like it was taken at night, also, there were other patients behind Hurley and Dave when the picture was taken and in the Polaroid there are none. So, is Dave actually real? Also, this obviously means that Dharma had ties to the institution, which means that they have been looking into the losties lives for a LOOOOOONG time.

I liked last night's episode.   :)   The story about Rose and Bernard was touching!  And just like a bad penney who shows up again out of the blue but idiot Michael!   :P   The Other "Henry" looked evil in last night's show -  >:D.   I also loved the look on Sawyers face when he was about to eat something and instead decided to give it to the dog - priceless!   :)  So it seems our island does indeed have magical healing powers.   :)

Noooo!  Not Micheal again!  I thought when he took off into the jungle we had finally gotten rid of him for good.  >:(

The Hanso thing was a "commercial" played during a break.  I was getting up from the couch and almost missed it.
My take on Micheal is that he has been brainwashed into becoming an other.  He did what he did to let Henry go and start a war between the Losties and the others.  I have no idea why.

What an episode!!  I agree with Kelly in that I too think Michael was captured by "The Others" and brainwashed!  It looks to me that Libby was wasted as well as Anna Lucia.  That would take care of both of these actresses as far as ABC is concerned as both are in trouble with the law in Hawaii for drunk driving.  Very serious offense in Hawaii.

I also liked Jin's thumbs up to Hurley as well!!   :)  This boy looks like he can get lost in a closet!   :P  I don't think Hurley has any luck with anything especially now that Libby was wasted!   :P

Let's see how good a Doctor Jack is when he examines Michael's bullet wound.  A self inflicted gun shot at very close range leaves powder residue on the affected area.  I did not like Michael's character before this show and I just hate him now.  What a wiener!   :P

I liked Anna Lucia's character - what a way to go on a show!  At least Sawyer had a little "skin time" with her before she bit the big one!   ;)

You have it all wrong with Michael. He did NOT want to kill anyone (I think) THat is why before he shot Ana Lucia he looked down at the gun and said he was sorry. Ana is dead. he shot Libby in the stomache...so there is a good chance he will live...then at the end of the episode he shot himself in the arm.

So it looks like Henry got Ana's gun and shot all of them and then escaped. You have to remember Michael is a selfish man. He will do ANYTHING to get back Walt.
I don't think he is brainwashed like say Claire was. I think he was captured, and they pretty much laid out what he had to do if he ever wanted his son back.

Um, gut shots are typically fatal...

I don't believe that Michael needed a lot of 'brainwashing', just the mere suggestion of what he needed to do to get Walt back and he'd have gone for it.

Let's be honest he shouts constantly "mah boy"... "don't do this or that, he's mah boy", or to Lock "what are you doing with mah boy"... he has this image in his head that he's this excellent father and he must protect his son (or he knows he is a terrible father and is trying to make up for it with his enthusiasm). Even Walt doesn't buy into this and rebels madly against it, Michael was always telling him that he should respect him because he's his father. Well guess what - Fathers earn respect, they don't just demand it, Michael just demands it.

He's so egocentric that he'd definitely go along with something like this to get Walt back, don't forget guys that he's informed our islanders that 'the others' are a feeble bunch and that they could 'take them'. We must assume that this information is a trap too now.

Everyone who falls in love, or gets things sorted out dies (think Shannon), it's such a shame about Libby. What I can't figure is why Rose and Bernard are still there, perhaps it's her cancer that troubles her.

I definitely agree that Locke is a 'good' person, but what's puzzling me is why he wasn't 'taken' before. He spent a LOT of time in the jungle alone in season one, so it's interesting that they never tried. He did 'stare out' the monster in the early episodes, but that's the only remotely threatening thing that happened to him that I can remember.

Becks if you are right about Claire's mother then you have good eyes. I can't remember seeing Claire's mother, but she looked a tad young to have a daughter of Claire's age, but it was dark ;)

Gut shots CAN be fatal, but they are not as fatal as a chest shot. It could easily put you into shock though. Which would work out well. I think we will see more of Libby...remember we know almost nothing about her. All of the Tailies have had a flashback episode BUT her. It would just be silly if we never leaned about her past, especially now that we know she was in the hospital with Hurley.

I'd lay some good money down that says she is still on the show, and she is in shock or something. There is no way they can write her out now, they have shown us to much about her to not finish her story.

I agree, I think Libby is alive, but I think she will be knocked out for a while after Dr. Jack saves her, and as soon as the angry mob leaves to go chase down the others she will come too, and remember that it was Michael that shot her.  The preview for next week showed Hurley, and if she was dead I can't imagine him being at all happy, and he didn't seem to bad in the preview.  Just my thoughts.

I was a little behind and hadn't watch it for a while, so I DL'd episodes 10 - 20 and watched them all today...wow. The only really weak one to me was the one with Charlie and his crazy baby-danger dreams. Loved the Jin-Sun and Rose-Bernard centric episodes, thought they were touching. And this last one, where Michael shoots AL...wow, good stuff (I like Michelle Rodriguez, but to be honest, I don't like her character, so good on 'em for giving her the bullet...just my opinio, don't hurt me  :o= ). I think these season with definitely end with a cliff-hanging bang! I just hope the third season proves just as good as the first two. (now for the humor, I'm just kidding portion of the post) I'm betting, when the show is said and done, we learn that Jack & Sawyer are the reincarnation of the better and worse halves of Captain Jack Sparrow  :rofl: (I suppose that might only be remotely funny if you realize Disney does both PoTC and LOST...  :-\)

Argh! That Michael, I was sure if Libby showed any promising signs he'd have killed her :(

Hmm, I felt sure that Michael was on a mission to release Henry. I guess the others released him on the condition that if he brings back Henry, they will release Walt or whatever. The fact that he shot himself in the arm convinced me. The shooting of Anna Lucia was needed as he needed her to put up a show but Libby was an unfortunate lady who just wanders in at the wrong time.

I hate to say I told you so but I have seen my fair share of combat wounds and knew when I made my post that Libby was not going to make it.   :(   Let's hope when Eko collected all those documents in the new hatch there was some info about Michael doing the shooting!  I hope he gets nailed to the cross and the birds peck out his eyes!  Can you tell I hate him?   (:D# 

Was the only way into the new hatch the way Locke & Eko went?  It seems there should be another way in like the hatch they occupy now.   I liked the whole dream sequence culminating in finding the ? mark!  Pretty cool thinking!   8) 

We all saw how Locke put his sketch of the bunker complex in the mail delivery system and it went where?  What will be the consequences of him doing that?

The guy in the film said that all mail through the shoot goes to "us".  I'm sure Lockes sketch will end up in the wrong hands.  I can't believe he did that in the first place!  They could have searched and found all the hatches!

I would imagine that bearing in mind how Eko and Locke were led to the Hatch (some phychological influence that can twist/affect your dreams?) the people at the receiving end of that drawing would already know about the hatches ... just my thoughts.

True, but now "they" know that the Losties know about the other hatches too.  It just seemed like one of the those Lost moments that appears very innocent, but turns out to be VERY important.

I can't tell you how many times my hands were reaching for Michael's throat on tonight's episode!!  The woman leader of the Others hit the nail on the head when she said to Michael "You don't seem to know much about your son, do you"!  That says it all in a nut shell.  Sayid is cool!  He has Michael pegged as a liar and knows he has been turned!!   :)   The 2 hour season ending show hopefully will give us more answers but will I know leave us hanging on some point.  Hey how about that sailboat showing up at the burial ceremony!!  It looks like no one is on board!  Where was Locke heading off to during the burial?

Yeah the way it was twisting it was either being turned around or there was no-one at the tiller. The main sail was full out but no gib it wouldn't have lasted like that very long unmanned I wouldn't have thought.

It was good to see Claire clutch for Charlie's hand, I think Claire realised how fragile they are on that island and how short life is, too short to hold a grudge :)

Kelly you could see Desmond in the preview for the season finally, it looked like he was carrying a gun and then it showed Sawyer aiming and firing a gun, not sure if that was supposed to be shooting at desmond.  I watched the preview 3 times in super slow mo, it also looked like Jin and Sayid were on the boat looking through binoculars.  Also looked like Kate was limp in Jacks arms (maybe she was shot) and there was a scene that looked like there was a huge mound of canisters (from the air transport pipes for messages that was in the other hatch perhaps?) or maybe there were mortar shells I couldn't tell exactly maybe it is not significant at all.   It will be an interesting 2 hours, I hope Michael gets what is coming to him.

Also what I can't figure is why Michael would think he could turn over the people on the list without an all out battle occuring.  Doesn't seem like he has given it much thought even being crazy micheal you would think he would give it a little thought.

You got that right about answering some questions and raising a whole lot more!!  I have so many questions but will only ask a few as to what you think .  It looks like "Henry" is the leader of The Others by everyone ones actions and attitude around him!!  What the heck was that white light - it looked like an EMP (Electo-Magnetic Pulse) burst!!!   :o  Some nice high tech weapons The Others used to incapicate Hurley, Sawyer, Kate, and Jack!!  Micheal - that crud!!  He lead them right into the ambush!  Interesting to see that pile of the records the Hatch people were keeping!  Can you believe Locke's little note he sent in the air delivery system is just sitting there - like a little piece of paper would not blow away after all that time!!  Desmond's story was cool and what is his former girlfriends involvement at the end there?  Wow so many questions.  Oh - forgot the stupid idiot idea Mr. Eko had of using dynamite inside an enclosed space - even Charlie recognized the danger!!   ::)

Only then he was known as Joe Inman, instead of Kelvin; odd, very odd. I agree Savage, Desmonds story was pretty well done (though I wanted to know why he got thrown in the Brig; me thinks his story is not done being told :). As for Eko, whilst I understand he was right, Locke was wrong (at least that is how it appears, no?), I have been liking the character of Eko less and less over the last half dozen episodes, which sucks, 'cause I started out really liking his character! Oh well, maybe S3 will prove him better. :)

Forgot to post this but I enjoyed watching Wednesday's LOST episode as it was a one hour special giving the viewer a summation of who the characters are and what has transpired during the first two seasons.   :)   Excellent lead in to next weeks Season 3 opener!   :)

Hey awesome John! I haven't heard of Sam's club. I did a quick check on ebay and the ones I see are in the $30s range unless you get some super best buy version with a special extra DVD (argh!) I purchased mine from amazon.com and it doesn't have anything special with it :(

Don't worry though, last time I bent over backwards to buy all the different promo DVDs etc and they didn't really have anything worthwhile on, so "stick to the knitting" with your $40 set ;D

It just looks (to the untrained British eye) like any place in suburban America (in fact, is it the street behind Wisteria Lane :rofl:?), the fact it's on the "LOST" island is amazing :o OMGOMGOMGOMG BRILLIANT....

On an ever-so-slightly more serious note, I really like the parallel in the first 5 minutes of this episode with the first 5 minutes of season two, where we had some music and saw Desmond going about his daily business ;D

I loved the opening, my jaw was wide open when the "earthquake" happened and they went outside and saw the plane explode mid air.

Favorite part hands down is when Ben (or Henry Gale as we better know him) tells Kate why he put her in a dress and gave her a good meal by the ocean...cannot wait till next week to see what happens to Jin/Sun/Sayid

Loved it, loved it, LOVED IT!  I thought the first 5 minutes were part of a main characters flashback.  It blew my mind that it was the island!  The book was a Staphen King novel.  I didn't see the title.  Anyone know what it was?
Is it just me or did anyone else think that Jack has every right to know who's scr*wing his wife?  I thought that denying him that info was just WRONG!  I don't think he was being unreasonable at all.  But, it will probably play into the story later on.  8)

As it has been complained about often, beware the schedule this season!!!!  ABC will air the first 6 episodes without interruption, which takes us through Thanksgiving. Then, it's time for a little break. LOST will not start airing again until February, but it will air without interruption or repeats. So, prepare for a cold beginning to winter.  BTW - this episode was out of this world. LOVED IT!  It showed a less pleasant side to Jack than the sanctimonious one we often see.  I HATED Sawyer in the first season, but I've now grown to love him. He gets the BEST lines, and the actor has great comic timing.  I saw a  LOT of new names in the opening credits. God, I LOVE this show.

I'd also really recommend people to pick up the LOST revelations base set, it groups characters by events and the segregation of the island society (others, survivors, tailies, those kidnapped etc.), but also there seem to be a few clues, and things at high resolution you might not pick out onscreen ;D

Why not watch it on abc.com?  They've got many of their shows on their site within 48 hours of it airing.  Granted they're in flash & you can't download them, but it's better than nothing....

Sam's in the UK, and since ABC want to sell the program to channel 4, they can't let viewers here watch it early on ABC.com so that's not an option I'm afraid.

ive only seen ramdom bits being only 8 minutes long on youtube.com. and ive kinda got the jist of the episode but the first 4 minutes blew my mind seeing the plane brake up in the air and the twisted orders off ben to eathen and goodwin. i cant get my head round why be like that and tel them to be imposters???

They confirm that there are factions of others, so maybe the 'LOST boys' (kids) are separate from Ben/Henry's lot.

There was slight discussion of the shark with the dharma symbol, the polar bear, and various other zoological oddities, Damon pointed to his hat and said it gave a clue but the res is too poor to be sure what's on there, it looks like a Dharma symbol, so I can only assume that it has a symbol in the centre (remember that we have the pearl station etc. So maybe Damon is wearing the symbol of the aquarium/zoological station that the others are currently keeping the prisoners in - remember Sawyer was in a cage used to teach animals the necessity of teamwork to get food, and Jack was in an aquarium of some sort

I am thinking it is the official one from ABC as it was on the iTunes home page under Podcasts.  I did notice that it features two of the Producers who act pretty stupid on most of the Podcasts hence the negative reviews.  Most people said it was better off when it was audio only as they think these two guys are pretty awful on the video now.

Well folks last night's show was another outstanding one!   :)  I really do not like "The Other's" and that woman who is Jack's keeper is really a piece of work.  I like the way Sawyer is standing up to them!   :)
Interesting info about Sun & Jin's past as well.  Is it me or do "The Other's" seem arragorant and assuming thinking they are better than our Survivors?  It's like they have human test subjects to play with instead of animals now!   ::)  I am glad Sun blasted that woman on the boat!  Let's see if she died or they bring her back and have Jack operate on her.  I loved the bit about "Ben" telling Jack that The Boston Red Sox won The World Series and Jack's response was classic!  You have to understand American Baseball and The Boston Red Sox to appreciate the way he responded!!   ;)

Yeah, I think it was also interesting that Ben said he was born on the island.  Maybe these are 2nd ,3rd generation others that have warped the intentions of the original experiments into something they were never meant to be.  Or maybe the Others are the real experiment!!  :o  He also seemed a bit scared of Sawyer and the way Sawyer is plotting.  I can't wait to see what's up with the young couple.

Interesting thing about last night's episode. Up until now, I wondered why Sun was on the island. Everyone else who is "good" has been abducted by The Others. So, last night we find out she wasn't faithful to Jin.  Also, I wonder if it wasn't Sun who murdered the boyfriend. He was clutching those pearls, plus when she shot the "other", the "other" said something to the effect of "I know you won't shoot me." Sun said, "You don't know me very well. "

HMMMM?  Could she have really killed her lover to save Jin?

Maybe, but you don't have to be a genius to work out that it's just an unlikely outcome. ;)

Eve, do you really think Sun killed the bald guy? I don't think so, I may very well be wrong, but I don't think she slept with him either. I think she was on the verge of it when they were interrupted by her father, and she did tell Jin that she had never 'been with' another man. Perhaps it's my British optimism speaking, but that's my view of it. I don't see her as capable of murdering her 'lover', look how hard she found it to shoot 'the other'? She's also quite a slight lady, and doesn't seem capable of throwing her lover's dead body off the side of a building, but it is interesting that you mention he was clutching the pearls.

I think we'd all be a bit afraid of Sawyer if he was our enemy, he's entirely unpredictable (well according to Capn Jack it's the honest men you can't trust :rofl: but in this case I think it's harder to understand what Sawyer is thinking!).

All I know is that this weeks episode looks quite amazing!

You're quite right that she doesn't seem physically able to throw a man's body out of a window.  She is slight of frame, as you said. However, one common theme running through this show is that everyone on the island has a sordid past or skeleton in their closet or something of that order.  She always seems so good, so perhaps it was my mind racing to conclusions.  But it was the way she shot "Colleen" and said, "You don't know me!" That made that pop into my head. There are a couple of characters that we have yet to find out why their pasts are so sordid. (Claire, Locke, Rose & Bernard. etc.) But for instance, we finally found out a creepy, stalkerish side of behavior from our hero Jack last week.  Up until that point, he was a victim of his father and his cheating wife, and a little too "goody goody", if you will.  I like him a bit better now.

I like Jack a bit more now too, Eve.  I guess because I can't say that I blame him.  I would be just as stubborn in that situation.  I would definately make one hell of a stalker!  >:D
About the pearls, did Sun actually take the gift?  I thought she refused it.  ???  How about this senario - Sun hires another hit man to kill the boyfriend, but he gets there AFTER Jin. 

Or Sun or her father knew Jin would not be able to go through with it, so Sun or her father sent someone to follow Jin.

I loved tonights episode...how the HECK did Desmond know about the Speach Locke gave at the end? GOD even more questions now lol! I liked Lockes vision he had, and seriously? Locke growing the wacky weed? It would appear that flashback will continue since it was not resolved at all.

It certainly clarifies 'why' Locke started to doubt himself in season 2, having been duped big time twice.  That was something I wasn't quite understanding - how he went from being so certain about the island and destiny to being this (pardon the pun) lost, wayward person.

Locke's not a farmer ;) he's a hunter :P

It's also possible he's used whatever he gave to Boone/put on his wounds when Boone saw Shannon die (for the first time?).

Locke's a fav character of mine so I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. I love the fact that although Locke is a very wise and dependable man, we have also seen many of his frailties... and strangely it only seems to make me respect him more :) He's come into his own now 'that awful' Jack is out of the camp :rofl: (who didn't want to be the leader for the whole first season, and then demanded everyone's respect throughout the second, much to my disgust).

We might be in for 2 Locke eps this 'year' because we are supposed to find out how he ended up in a wheelchair this season :)

Desmond's 'premonition' was weird. I wonder what Desmond's true role is. Although friendly enough he seems troubled and doesn't seem to integrate with our 815ers at all. I hope we get another Desmond ep soon. Desmond and Locke seem to get on very well with a mutual un-stated understanding of each other (what does one snowman say to the other?) ;D

And boy was it great to see Boone again... is this Inkworks' final chance to get a costume card/auto card in? I think that the rumours that Ian S is angry with the LOST team for writing him out must be false or he wouldn't bother going back for the flashback/hallucinogenic scenes.

Another interesting episode last night but I did not care for the Locke angle presented in which he is in cahoots with drug dealers - give me a break already!  Is that the best the writers can come up with?   ::)

Well, after what John had just been through (originally being rejected by his parents and then internal organ theft from the people he'd least expect it from) you can't really blame the man for finding himself a hippy family.

Interesting episode last night!  Our buddy Sawyer can sure take a beating!  The pacemaker bit had me going there for a bit!  Why don't I care or have any feelings for that "Woman Other" who Sun blasted and dies on the table?  Maybe because she was an obnoxious you know what?  Her husband needs a dose of the same medicine in my opinion!!   ;)  I like the Hatch Dude who now sees the future!!   :)

Who do you think has a tumour on their back? I automatically assumed that it would be one of "the others", but what about Locke? Could that be the cause of him being in the wheelchair? We have been told we'll find out about Locke's wheelchairbound-ness in this series, so it would make sense for us to follow a story-line like that

I like Desmond too, he and Sawyer are my 2 fav characters in this series. These "others" sure have a weird definition as to what consitutes "the good guys" if you ask me.

The thing I like about the people who make LOST is that they actually employ people from Britain if they want a British accent. Admittedly Desmond/Henry is only half Scottish and didn't move there til later, but he has a great accent. In so many things they just ask people to do British accents, for instance desperate housewives currently features the world's WORST English accent which is attempted weekly by a Scot ::) I find it painful to watch... so I don't :P

Scottish accents are my absolute favorite of all!  Desmond is not a very good looking man IMHO, but the accent makes him sexy.  Not as sexy as Sawyer.  ;)
You're totally right about actors doing bad accents, Roz.  I probably wouldn't be able to tell a bad British accent unless it was REALLY bad, but so many times I've heard a bad Southern accent and wanted to cringe!  Usually with the southern accents people overdo them.  :P
I still haven't watched Lost from this week.  I better get to it tonight!

Juliette is NOT to be trusted!  If she's telling the truth then Ben is truly evil for her to want Jack to commit murder.  I'll be willing to take bets that he won't do it.

I don't trust Juliette either, although I do think there's a rift between her and Ben (the book club, his general attitude and of course the fact that he was calm when Jack threatened to kill her all indicates this)

Another interesting thing to me was what Eko saw in the Black Smoke. I think he saw his sins. From what we know Locke is a relatively virtuous man with relatively little to confess, and he saw "a bright light", whereas Eko obviously saw something more disturbing.

I was a little confused that Eko would not confess, and his "brother's" reaction. Was that his brother disowning him? Or was he someone else? He was solid for Eko to pass the cross to. True Eko 'did what he needed to in order to survive' but is the prolonging of your own life worth the cost of many other lives?

Resolution is what Mr. Eko had. Whether or not his choices were right or wrong, he was at peace with himself over them. This seems to be a common theme with regard to dead characters:

Boone - Gets over Shannon and he dies
Shannon - Finally feels worthy-she dies
Ana Lucia - Realizes she's more than a murderer-she dies.
Libby - the big question mark here
Eko - accepts his choices, no longer feels guilt.

Now, the thing that keeps bothering me about Libby(aside from that bad wig in the flashback with Desmond) is WHY did she give a man she'd just met her dead husband's boat?  Surely the writers could not be THAT careless.  In the mental hospital, she looked a little further gone than someone who'd merely lost her husband(as tramautiac as that is).  I have a theory that she was some sort of recruiter for the island or the others or something.  Maybe she mentioned to Hurley in passing that he should play "the numbers" on a lotto ticket.  Her death was also an accident, whereas Michael planned to shoot Ana Lucia. I hope we see a couple of Libby cameo flashbacks this year....

Yup this is so right. Although, Eko owed Yemi (sp?) a church, and he hadn't built that yet.

But that's definitely a common theme.

I hope we get more info on Libby, it would be very dissappointing not to get any linkages in her story, maybe Desmond's flashbacks will fill us in.

to be honest, I think Juliette is power hungry, and she is prob the most dangerous person on the island.

Remember what Sawyer said when he got in his little fight after he kissed Kate?

"But that blonde who had a gun pointed at you...she would have shot you. No Problem"

Every single time I see her that is all I can think of. I think Ben is restricting her power, and killing him makes her in charge.

I really hope Jack isn't drawn in by her charm and 'being his type' so-to-speak. Not only is it just wrong in general, but it would be against his whole training and mental discipline (and his hippocratic oath too).

Sure I don't like Ben, but he's an interesting guy, I'd be sad to lose him from the story.

The problem with Walt is that on the island it's still 2004, but the actor is of course going through puberty and obviously aging. I suspect that Walt will return at some point, but from what I understand Harold Perrineau was not a happy camper on LOST.

I agree about Ben, he's a great villian and foil for Jack. It would be a shame to lose him.  He's been played so well by the actor, whose name I can't recall at the moment.  I read originally he was just on for a three episode arc, but that the producers loved him so much they expanded his role.

However, my money's on Jack falling for Juliet, hence the flashback of his divorce a few weeks ago.  The flashback really showed that Jack, when not trying to fix something, isn't the most rational, well adjusted guy around.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Mr. Eko is the only one to have ever seen the black smoke.  I think Roz pointed out earlier that the black smoke represents his past 'sins' following him and haunting him.  The more I think about it, the more I believe Henry/Ben when he said that the 'others' are the good guys.  I think on top of everything else, they're in a time warp, if you will. Remember when Hurley & Sayid had the radio that worked for 30 seconds and it was playing Glenn Miller(who really did disappear in a plane crash).  That music is 60 years old - too old for even my grandmother to have listened to(almost).  Juliet is a fertility doctor. Now what is a fertility doctor doing on THAT island?  Anyway, sorry, lunchtimes musings from a fan that tend to ramble... :P

Yep, Locke did see it...he speaks about "looking into the island" numerous times and he is refering to the black smoke...also, not that they see it up close, but a couple people see it in the first episode when it kills the Pilot, and others see it in the episode with Artz blowing up when it almost pulls one of them down into the island.

I mean I loved the episode. Kate and Sawyer actually got me to cry. But the ending is something I pretty much thought would happen since last week.

Disappointed, not really.  I really felt bad for Kate, because although we know killing is wrong, her step father was a real SOB and it's hard to blame her for losing her proverbial marbles in that respect.  She didn't mean to  get McKenzie Astin killed.  I wonder if the bank robbery she committed happened after or before her marriage.  I think it must be after, right? I really felt bad for poor Nathan Fillion last night, the crushed look on his face killed me.  And I'm glad Kate & Sawyer got together.  It did feel like a segue episode though.  I WANT TO KNOW WHAT LOCKE SAW WHEN HE LOOKED NORTH!!!  February is a long time to wait. ::)

I really do not care for the way ABC is presenting LOST.  I think it plain stinks that they shut us off until next year!   >:()   Why can't we just have the series run normally like they all used to do?  It is annoying plain and simple.

You can please some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time! It's so true now.  Last year, everyone complained SO LOUDLY that ABC aired too many reruns in between new episodes in order to stretch the season out from October to May. This year, they've broken into two uninterrupted blocks, and people complain(And I'm not picking on you, Savage 727 ;) )  I'm sad I have to wait until February.  Personally, FOX has the right idea with 24.  It doesn't start until January, and it runs straight through May without interruption. That's a much better way to run LOST instead of breaking it up. We Americans really could learn from the British Here :)

I agree. I prefer this policy of knowing where we are up to rather than sitting down each week and finding out at the last minute that it's a re-run.

Although, I admit that the wait from now til Feb will be tough.

We now know that there are two different islands. I think the Mr Eko stick saying to look North was telling Locke where Kate, Sawyer, Jack, and the others actually are.

That could well be true. As far as I know we haven't been given any idea of the orientation of the islands. Even Rousseau's map may not have pointed North (as we know, the magnetic field of the island interferes with a compass... although I'm not sure whether that's a uniform phenomenon over the whole island or just in the spot with that scene in season one (was it with Sayid and Locke?))

I have a feeling the whole compass thing works on all the island, as well as around the island. Remember Desmond said he was sailing in the same direction for weeks and he just ended back up at the island.

I seriously hope we go back to the Beach in Feb. I mean come on. We have gotten NOTHING on Claire, Hurley, Charlie, Sayid, Rose and Bernard...nothing. THOSE are the people I care about, I mean yes, i care about Jack Kate and Sawyer, but I care about those people just as much and it has sucked to learn NOTHING new about them.

I love Rose and Bernard. I'm curious to know why they are 'bad' people and do not interest the others.

So do we presume that the whole charade with kidnapping Sawyer, Jack and Kate was so that Jack would do the surgery? Were Sawyer and Kate just insurance? It seems a little too straight forward. What is the purpose of this manual labour they are doing (apart from wearing them down)? What's the story behind Alex and her boyfriend? (Do we guess he was in Kate's cage when Sawyer first arrived at the cages?)

The Lost Season 1 Toys have come out from McFarlane, and they are pretty easy to find. I purchased an entire set (Jack, Kate, Locke, Shannon, Hurley, and Charlie) along with The Hatch box set and I must say, these are truely some of the coolest toys I have ever owened. The detail is amazing, the backgrounds are really cool, and they just look really really good. Some of them are really really well done as far as the likeness goes, Charlie, Locke, and Hurley especially. Kate is prob my favorite, she comes with all these bambo that goes all around here and I gotta say, it just looks so freaking cool. The hatch box set is cool to, I did not know about it till i bought it, but there is actually a small light inside the hatch that you can turn on and off, and when you turn off the lights and see it hit your ceiling (yeah, it is bright, I think it is LCD) it is really cool.

If you are a fan of the show, or know a fan, I would definetly suggest picking up one or a couple of these for Xmas.

I saw those at toys-r-us last week.  8) I almost bought the hatch diorama, but figured I didn't really need it.  Now that I know it lights up I might go back and get one!  Locke and Charlie are my favorites as far as a likeness goes on the single figures.  Another cool thing is that they come with a replica prop that's full size.  Hurley-lotto ticket, Kate-toy plane, Charlie-Drive Shaft ring, Locke-walkabout brochure, I forgot what Jack and Shannon come with.
Oh, Shannon was sold out BTW.

I'll have to get pricing because the toys are VERY cool looking, but my budget is pretty much gone for the year...

Jack comes with Kate's Mugshot, and Shannon comes with Rousseau's Map of the island. Yeah, there was only one Shannon out of prob 75 figures at my Toys-R-Us where I got mine, seems she is a little harder to pick up.

The props are so cool, I completely forgot to mention them. I wish the driveshaft ring was metal though, i would actually wear it if it was lol.

I too am hooked on LOST I feel empty without it, I feel like I did when I was a teenager with the boybands, how sad is that !!!  :P  I watched the whole 6 episodes on the 3rd series at the weekend,  WOW what a cliffhanger  :o   what happens to sawyer ???  Just counting the days until Feb 7th then my life will be complete again. I will get my weekly dose of Jack.

Is anyone still watching Lost?  I thought Julia's story was really good!  But I'm not sure she told Jack the truth about what Ben said to her. 
Also, as soon as she told that guy "not unless he gets hit by a bus", I told Phil "start looking for a bus!".  He spotted it as soon as they walked out to the curb, so no suprise for us!  :rofl:

I thought it was an interesting back story... I wonder where her sister is, whether she came to the island or is still in Miami, they seemed reluctant for her sister to join her, but I can't see how they'd persuade Juliette to leave her behind.

I was really excited to get a back story of 'an other'.

I too am glad to see LOST back on the air!   :)  I enjoyed Julia's story but boy is she heartless - look at the way she blew away the guy on the beach who was going after Sawyer!   :P

How about Desmond's story?  Pretty interesting story there as well!!   :)

Oh my gosh!  Last nights episode really freaked me out!!!  :o  I though I was going to have nightmares.  That was a total shift from the usual for the Lost writers and I loved it.  Totally cool to see the backstory and flashbacks of the 2 minor characters.  A+++ rating form me!

The spiders that bit both of them just paralyzed them making it seem both were dead.  They were buried and when the dirt was being thrown on them Nikki's eyes opened in horror but both of them are buried and hopefully dead for good!!   :)

Wow, I frickin loved last nights episode...
I know it didn't really do anything for the plot, or really move the show forward at all, but I love that the writers took the shakespeare approach and put a sort of funny and different paced episode right after the last few weeks of fast paced and dark episodes (Just like the Porter in Macbeth).

I was seriously sitting there at the end of the episode (well just before the end) and it hit me that they are not dead and I just started saying no no no no no out loud in my room at 1am in the morning. That ending may have seriously been the best (and definetly different) ending of any episode. I had chills running up my entire body...

I cannot wait to see next weeks episode but I hope it isn't 100% about Kate and can shed a little more light on Locke's father (who I am now almost 100% convinced is the original Sawyer)

I thought Series 2 was a little disappointing, but this is amazing.


I thoroughly enjoyed the ep, but I really found it very sinister with the whole burying alive thing. If Jack or Artz had been around that wouldn't have happened....

I know I haven't been keeping my ear to the ground as much as I should have been lately, but I've just heard rumours that there will now only be 4 series because of dwindling audiences since season one.

This could explain why the story is zooming along...? Maybe 4 series is a more appropriate life-length for a story like this, but I'm really going to miss it. I love it :D

I have just seen the spider episode and apart from the horrors of the beasties (oh and being buried alive) I was wondering about the flashbacks.  Do you reckon the plane crash scene was filmed in the first season and they have been hanging onto it or did they have to reconstruct the carnage?  If it was shot right at the beginning I have nothing but admiration for the writers who must have had the whole story planned from the off  :)

well, it was a hybrid of both. Yes, there was some original footage from season one used, but if you watch closely, you will notice that all the scenes with the two new (now dead) characters were actually shot recently.

I thought the exact same thing...how cool it would be if they had this planed out from the beginging, but after watching the episode again I noticed they just used some great editing techniques.

Lost is really varied, some exciting eps and some rather filler (series 2).
BUT...I really liked this past ep!!  Man...buried alive.  I knew as soon as everyone thought they were dead they were going to be in trouble!  ugh...can't imagine that...well, I can...that's why it was so awful to watch. hehe

Yeah... WHERE have the others gone? And why did Locke go with them? I guess we don't get to find out much about his Dad and the 'island box' for the moment. To quote a famous man of the sea "to what point and purpose missy"? Why have they left the girl (Jennifer?) behind? As some sort of spy? I don't buy the whole "they left me behind" business.

So the others don't really know much about 'the beast'? She did seem really petrified. It sounds mechanical, sometimes a bit like a helicopter or something mechanical and rotary.

So last Wednesdays episode was amazing. After a really slow and horrible start (IMO) this season is turning out to be pretty amazing. Someone else said it on another board ******SPOILER****** the scene between Sawyer and Sawyer was Emmy worthy.

Also, ABC issued a press release today stating Lost would end in 2010. The producers wanted two more seasons, ABC wanted three, so instead of two more 24 episode seasons, there will instead be three 16 episode seasons. It is not known when the new season will begin this fall yet.

It's been great!  It's no longer clear cut who we should trust.  I'm loving it!

I have managed to avoid seeing any LOST 3 episodes, except one when I was visiting a friend who had it on. I couldn't very well be rude. :rofl: :rofl: But I didn't try to much attention. I am waiting for the CDs to come out.

I've loved the whole season, with the exception of the Hurley/Van episode.  I love the Juliet and Ben characters, I hope the Emmy's notice(not holding out hope though). I also think this has been a stellar season for Josh Holloway, I hope Emmy notices him too.

Don't forget Terry O'Quinn as well, we have already had two episodes dedicated to him this season and he has played a pretty large part in what is going on.

I personally did not like the begining of the season at all (those first 5 or 6 episodes before the break) but I am really getting into it again and it is actually a show I am looking forward to each season, not just watching so i don't miss anything. I really like Juliet's character... I liked her, then I hated her, then I thought she was alright, now I freaking hate her again lol, so the Lost writers are doing a good job with her.

I sure can't wait, the next three weeks are going to be crazy

Ok, guys.  I was going frame by frame on the last episode today to show a friend of mine the screencap of Jacob that she missed.  I couple more things showed up. 
First, the lantern that got knocked over and started a fire?  After a few seconds the fire just suddenly went out.  No one put it out, it just went out by itself. 
But the best thing I saw was during the close ups of the rocking chair during the mayhem.  In 2 shots you can see a small ball of black smoke!  Just like the smoke monster!!!  :o  Play it frame by frame and look for it.

Last evenings 2 hour season finale was awesome!   8)  I don't want to say much more than that for those of you who have not seen it yet!   :o

Agreed. It was simply amazing. I REALLY hope Lost is nominated for some Emmys again. Jacks performance last night was absolutely unforgettable. What a hell of a cliffhanger. I might die having to wait 8 months now.

The Worst episode of the season was Hurleys episode "Tricia Takanawa is Dead". It was so absurd and seemed SO out of place. I cannot believe the writers decided to revisit it in last nights episode, but they did, and they took an arguably HORRIBLE episode and gave it a true meaning. Kudos to the writers. Just an incredable finale.

Great episode!  Although I did figure out the flash forward (is that what it's called?)  So no new episodes for 8 months?  That seems kind of long to wait.  I'll be crazy wondering about the boat.  Good guys?  Bad guys?  Who are they and how do they know Desmond? 
Poor Charlie.  I hated his character for so long, but last nights episode nearly made me cry for him.
One more thing-who do you all think was in the casket?  I think it was either Locke or Ben.  I'm leaning towards Ben since the guy asked Jack if he was friend or family and Jack said niether.  Think Kate married Sawyer?

And poor Charlie - but I don't see that he had to die...couldn't they have just jumped back in the water? Seems they would have had the time before things flooded...

True!  They didn't even have to put all the scuba gear on.  They could have popped the regulator in their mouth first, and put the BC on after they were in the water.  Oh well.  It's not like I'll really miss Charlie anyway.  He got on my nerves.  ;)

Interestingly during the ep where it was Ben's birthday and Ben's flashback he said to the guy (who had long hair in the Forest when Ben was young and now has short hair) "you remember birthdays don't you"?)

So what the heck went on there?

I didn't think Charlie HAD to go either Kelly, it was like they'd pre-ordained it so they twisted the story badly to bump him off.

So has it been confirmed?? Do we have one more series of LOST or two?

I thought they confirmed 3 more seasons of 16 episodes each season...could be wrong though.

Here's what I thought, and apparently many other people have the same idea...

The guy from the forest, and all the other "hostiles" could be the original crew from the Black Rock.  For some reason they don't age.  The forest guy looks exactly the same now as he did back then.  Maybe he's had so many birthdays that it's just another day to him now.  Also, Jacob could be the captain of the Black Rock.  I saw a post that showed the map that was on the wall in the hatch, and there was a mention of the captains burial site on it.  I believe it had his first name as Jacob.  Plus, in the screencap of Jacob it looks like he's wearing colonial type clothing.

Now now, that really is a very interesting suggestion. I haven't had much net access and that's not one I thought of at all!

Locke really is very special to this island - getting shot and then bullied into coming round by Walt! (I hardly recognised him!)

Did anyone notice Locke bend down and pick up some dirt when Ben took him to meet Jacob?  I seem to be the only one to think this is significant.  I think this is a circle of maybe brimstone or salt to keep Jacob trapped in the hut.  This is why he asked Locke to help him and I think Jacob is being kept captive by Ben. I am also nearly sure we already know who Jacob is.  From the freeze frame picture earlier in this thread I am positive we have seen this person before, I just can't place him - maybe Jack's dad with long hair  :-\

BTW did anyone catch what happened to little Ben's girlfriend?  Did she get gassed with the rest?

... Ben seemed a mature age by the gassing. Perhaps they 'got together', maybe got married and tried to have a baby? Could this be an addition to Ben's general bitterness levels.

If only Ben had really fully explained why Jack shouldn't call the boat maybe he'd have fitted in? Ahhhhhhh there's so much yet to be understood

Mmm funny you should mention that.  I was wondering if Ben had a touch of the Desmond's about him ie he gets flashes of the future and, like Desmond, everything he does is to avoid some terrible thing happening.

Interesting... I was thinking about your suggestion again Sharon during this week's episode - especially when Ben knew all about the "new others" (Helicopter crew)...

He knew who they were because as he said in the very last line on the episode "Because I have a man on their boat"

He has known who they are and what they are up to all this time. Remember, until a couple weeks ago (maybe even shorter) Ben had 100% control who he spoke to using the station Michale ran. It was blown up and then the outgoing signal was destroyed so he KNEW it could be no one else that was looking for them. I am interested to see who his "man" on the boat is....Zoe Bell is supposed to be in this half of the season so I think his "man" could be a woman.

Sayid working for Ben???!!!!  :o  For what purpose?  Revenge I'm guessing, but why?
