Hey Rob:

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the kind of auction you won is from Sellers who have opened sealed boxes of product to cull out the Auto & Clothing cards.  They then have all these unopened loose packs and sell them in bulk on ebay like the auction you won.  So anytime you see the words "lot" as oppossed to unopened box I would steer clear.

Hi Rob:

It's just a shot but if you have not paid try asking the Seller if you can cancel your bid as you thought you were making a bid on an unopened box and that you already have a Base set of cards.  Good luck.

Rob:

No need to feel that way.  I know I get excited when I see a good deal on ebay and I sometimes act out of impulse rather than being thorough and reading the entire description of the auction.  Don't be so hard on yourself.   Smiley

Coincidently, later this evening I'm listing the same sort of thing for both the ROTK Update & LOTR Trilogy cards. I was wondering how to word it and came up with the following :

PLEASE NOTE YOU ARE BUYING SEALED PACKS THAT ARE HIGHLY UNLIKELY TO CONTAIN ANY OF THE AUTOGRAPH OR MEMORABILIA CARDS
You are purchasing Ten (10) Sealed Packs Of Base Cards from The Lord Of The Rings : The Return Of The King Collector’s Update Edition trading cards by Topps. Each pack contains 7 cards, with the completed base set consisting of 72 cards in total.
Postage costs are £1.50 for the UK and £2.00 for all International bidders.Payment is due within 7 days and from UK bidders is accepted by Paypal, personal cheque, or cash (at senders risk only). International bidders are more than welcome but payment must be made via Paypal.I’m happy to combine shipping, so why not check out my other auctions and my eBay shop. Thanks for looking & happy bidding.

Do you guys think this makes it clear enough ?

I haven't thought of what price to set the BIN at yet. Does £5.00 seem reasonable ?

Yeah there's 2 base sets in there, so it's fun for someone to open and collate!

But if there's someone on the forum who enjoys collating base sets pleasd do come to Cambridge this evening, we will provide dinner for help Tongue

And then I'll send you off to Chris' house Wink

I bloomin' do not like collating base sets. It is a real pain in the bum.

I had a bit of a tidy up at the weekend and ended up collating the following base sets:

Star Wars Heritage - 21
Quotable Star Trek - 24
Harry Potter Azkaban (The Original) - 24
LOTR Trilogy - 10
LOTR ROTK Update - 17

I'm now a prime candidate for RSI
