Hi folks - is that a play on words for Toys R Us? If so I have not seen Toys R Us here in the States sell Topps Trilogy or and LOTR's related cards!

Yes things will be different in the US - for instance you have Wall Marts and things stocking these cards. We don't! It's a huge breakthrough (and good publicity) that places like Toys R Us and WH Smith are being sold boxes by Darren as it will draw lots of people in to the hobby

Most people buy their cards from places like Potomac or a distributor like them. I have bought from them once. I purchase from and support my local card shop.

Its a shame more people don't support their local sellers.
Maybe there would be more shops in the UK if people did.

You know Olly you have an excellent point there. You who live in England must know of a local card shop and maybe if the Forum members who live in England all band together to put in an order for either HP or LOTR's cards you would make out better and thus help a local business.
If that is not in the cards then supporting people like MPC or yourself Olly - I think you are a Seller is the next best alternative.
Here in the States where I live the small card shop has almost passed into extinction. I used to live in the State of Connecticut where there was a good selection of shops but I now live in New Hampshire and there is nothing around for well over 100 miles. I still deal with the card shop in Connecticut for my Decipher and Topps LOTR's cards as they ship next day and provide excellent service and pricing.

Local shops ain't easy where I am. The one shop in Gloucester closed. I'd seen that coming for a long time..... bad location, prices too high, disorganised etc etc. Said he'd ring me when stuff arrived, then didn't. That leaves me 2 places in Swindon (30 mins away) who only sell CCGs. FP and Area 51 in Bristol (40 mins away) . I wouldn't buy boxes from FP and you'll be lucky to find packs with chase cards in as the staff (who incidentally claim to know nothing about trading cards) have usually grabbed autos/costumes when the boxes were opened. Area 51 says people don't want trading cards, so he only sells CCGs. I met another etailer from Bristol @ Memorabilia a year or two ago. He asked me to email him about some stuff. I did (thre times) and never heard back There's FP in Birmingham (40 mins again). See FP Bristol above I'm now running out of ideas In an ideal world, we'd all use local guys....... Unfortunately, life ain't perfect. If I had someone like Olly round the corner from me, I'd be a great deal more broke than I already am Rob

Ebay is flooded with Trilogy Autos and Clothing cards so everyone should be able to find what they are looking for and for the first time the cards are priced very reasonable.
