"hot boxes" and number of cases

Just wonder what contains a "hot box" ? All cards incl. the Multicaseincentives?

How many were inserted in the first set? How many will be inserted in the update? And finaly how many cases will be produced of POA Update?

They don't contain the case/multi-case incentive cards but they contain nearly all props/costume/autos. Some of the hot boxes found contained maybe 2 of the same card and a different card not inserted, if that makes sense. So with some hot boxes people got a complete set but others got all the cards but one, and a duplicate of another card. I'm rubbish at explaining it

They contained one of everything in the set EXCEPT

case incentives/promos

a 100 Ron robe

and

a 100 Harry Robe

(NB they did contain the lenticulars)

(NB2 as Ben rightly says they did contain some spares too!)

was it 25 roz last time? I'm pretty sure it was. Roz might be able to shed some light on how many hotbox's this time

From what I heard, it was 20 last time. Makes sense if there are more boxes this time, there should be more hotboxes. Could someone mention this to Artbox please?

And I have no info on hotboxes this time only that there have been assurances there will be some!

There were rumours of 25 (don't worry Ben) so I was putting the other rumour forward too

The hotboxes werent official archive boxes, do you think they did the hotboxes because they had way to many spares.

Hmm I don't know but it helped to create an amazing buzz about the set. At the time hitting a hotbox was like finding £3,000 in a £30 box... it's a bit less now but I can imagine in time and after a good few more sets it will be higher again.

When you say they weren't "official archive boxes" I guess you mean that they weren't labeled as such and this is true! If I knew I had a hotbox would I open it or leave it? If I was rich enough and had a full set I'd love to keep it sealed, after all inside all the cards should remain minter than if you take them out. I am not sure you could sell a hotbox on ebay because you'd get unscrupulous people who said they opened it and it wasn't a hotbox and they'd like their money back please (and simultaneously and coincindentally they have a complete run of the cards up on fleabay)... but it would be a cool thing to have if you were rich enough... mind you what's the point in sealed boxes anyhow?

how do you do it roz you know how many boxes i buy and i can't keep sealed boxes they seem to get misteriously opened

I can do it Chris because I have such hideously bad luck in what I do open!

If you knew that the best you could pull was one dud and one george could you keep them sealed?

Remember now in the 10 boxes of cards I have ever opened I have now had 5 duds! That's not a nice record! And if it doesn't improve for potter I think I'll give up collecting - it's too depressing

Since you've had such bad luck with your first 10 boxes, it should mean that you'll have better luck with the last two!    At the very least, you should have good luck with the update.

Don't tell Roz that, we'll see her posting she cracked and opened the last two boxes  

I know youar going to do well with your update set, it's a near enough guarentee you will make a bit of dosh

Not if I keep most of the cards as I plan to but if I can recoup a bit on my spares I'll be a happy bunny!

Back to the topic here for a moment we still have no idea of print run and I am getting worrieder and worrieder all the time!
