Well it's true that the only reason Harry is allowed to visit the village of Hogsmead in the GoF books is because at the end of PoA Sirius signs Harry's Permission form...
so how will they get around this in GoF?

Hmmm... you are right. BUt its easily done - Sirius could just send it to him in the post with a note attached saying 'this may be useful' I don't think it should be too complicated

Maybe one Permission is enough for all the years?

Another thing I missed from the PoA movie, is when he sends the permission slip to Harry at the end in the book, he also sends the new owl for Ron. I would have liked to see that at the end of the movie.

Yes where's pig? Do you feel they cut too much? Like the whole marauders story. Don't the non book readers wonder how Lupin knew it was a map? Why Snape suddenly turned up. Why didn't we at least learn that the Stag was the animagi form James took. Geez it explains it better on the back of the trading cards ::)And immobulus to stop the tree please if it was that easy wouldn't everyone do it?

I agree. Too much was left out of the movie. Especially the Stag form should have been explained. I had to fill my husband in and my nieces who hadn;t read the books. Luckily, I got them all to read the 4th and 5th ones so I wouldn't have to explain later.

Well not only is it not signed. But it is no longer in one piece, it has been cut up, stuck to cards and distributed across the planet

So far the movies have been a little disappointing. They all seem to leave out too much. It can't be a matter of budget. They'll make millions on the CDs and the CD bundle set they are going to sell. I think they need to add more.
More Snape and Lucifer Malfoy scenes will really make the movies jump to life, I think. I mean, let's face it, what good is a hero when there is not bad villian/s to compare to him? If the villians were to get more play it would make Harry appear more heroic. When they get around to the OotP they surely must play up the graveyard event, don't you think. Not to mention the event where Harry finds the prophecy.

The graveyard event happens at the end of the next film, so I think you may get some more baddies there. I really don't see why they cut out the important stuff yet left in the boys eating sweets that made them sound like animals

IMHO I feel that movies will never replace books. I'm an avid reader and every movie adaptation I've ever seen cut out too much of the plot from the book. If I hadn't read PoA first, I know I would have gotten lost if I had only watched the film.

In POA Professor McGonagall refused to sign it because she didnt want Harry venturing off school grounds with Sirius black running around so Harry wouldnt find out that he was his Godfather. After he exscaped he was allowed to go because Harry nknew the truth.
