The principle of this thread is simple but has a well deserved reputation
for hilarity:

The Fellowship are riding to Mordor on the back of an eagle
to dispose of the One Ring, peril of all Middle Earth. But the eagle is
getting tired (they're no good at bearing burdens, you know)... so who is to be
thrown off first, and who will last to the end?

the last to go is Gandalf anyone who can keep his eyes open when he sleeps would scare the rest and make them jump
