"Orlando Bloom has proposed to his girlfriend Kate Bosworth, according to the News of the World today.

The Lord of the Rings star has apparently presented Bosworth with a £175,000 engagement ring.

"All you see is diamonds," Bosworth told a friend. "It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen."

The newspaper claims that Bloom was advised to keep the engagement quiet, to avoid upsetting his female fans. However, the couple are now making plans to marry next year.

A friend told the newspaper, "Kate jumped at Orlando's proposal and accepted in a second. They're making plans for two ceremonies - one in Los Angeles, where Kate is from, and one in Orlando's native England."

The couple met last year when they were both starring in a Gap advert."

She in a movie called Blue Crush and Win a date with Tad Hamilton neither of which I have seen cos they look like terrible movies

Being such an OB fan I really want to dislike Kate, but I cant.  And the movie Blue Crush is actually quite good-a bit of an adrenalin rush...

Nice to know she's so excited about the ring--I mean, she's engaged and all she's going on about is the ring and how beautiful it is (I saw another article with another quote about the ring)? I guess I would have prefered a quote from her about how happy she is.
I have my doubts about this--there's a six year age difference after all which seems like a lot when she's only 21. And Hollywood is not known for helping to keep the divorce rate low.
So I'm with those that will believe it when I see pictures of the marriage....and then they make it to five years maybe. So hang in there FTY!!

Kate Bosworth is really no one. Blue Crush was a decent movie though, I've seen it twice and enjoyed it. But dont' expect anything deep or thought provoking. The other got horrible reviews and went to DVD very quickly.
Her main claim to fame is being his girlfriend.

Heehee, I am not that concerned really - I like OB enough but not to the extent that I am going to start bawling over his Leggy posters now that he is apparently engaged. My boyfriend is jealous enough already

Hollywood!    Blue Crush has some nice surfing in it but that's about it.  Kate does not seem to have her priorities straight and the last response by blackcat says that there is no engagement - sounds good to me.
