I was poking around the internet this afternoon, and stumbled across the website for Sports Cards Wholesale.  They are offering pre-orders for the update, but claim that only 300 cases will be produced.  I've already sent them an email asking about this, so if they respond, I'll let everyone know.

Roz, have you heard anything else about the number of cases?  Wouldn't this amount be less than was produced for the first set?

KB, I'd be surprised if this was true. Estimates I have heard have ranged from 800 to 1000 cases. With a lot of this product going to Japan this time (so the full run won't be as accessible  as last time as things tend to disappear into the Japanese ether!

... interesting stuff tho!

That's what I thought.  I'm hopeful they'll send a reply, because I'd really like to know where they got their info.

Your post was the first I'd heard that cases were being shipped to Japan.  Maybe what SCW means is that 1/3 will be available in the US, 1/3 in the UK and 1/3 in Japan?

I ordered a case (of sports cards not HP) from SCW a week and a half ago (never have bought from them before and still have not received my case.  They was 2-3 days shipping time to California from Texas.  I called them this past Wed and they said it would be to me on Thurs still no cards???

They also say they send you a tracking # via email and never sent me one.  When I called they made up an excuse like it shipped from there wherehouse....   so so far I am not impressed with there customer service or even sure how good of a dealer they are?   I will let you know when my case finally arrives as I will be calling first thing Monday to find out why I haven't got the cards yet!

I  found this on the Artbox website.  It might explain why Artbox is sending cases to Japan, in addition to the interest of collectors there:

A subsidiary of Amada Printing MFG CO. LTD. and Japan Pulp & Paper Co. Ltd., Artbox  Entertainment was established in 1995 as a United States based company to manufacture and  market popular licensed products by specializing in the catagory of printed toys and collectibles.  Founded over 70 years ago, Amamda printing is Japan's leading manufacturer, marketer and  distributor of licensed products with annual sales of over $100 million dollars. Japan Pulp and  Paper, the world's largest manufacturer and supplier of raw paper with annual sales of over $5  billion was established over 150 years ago. With strong support from two of Japan's leading  manufacturers, Artbox Entertainment is well equipped to move into the 21st century as a leader of  printed toys and collectibles for Licensed Products.
