Cool - is it any good? It sounded to me like a modern day "Lord of the Flies" I saw Dom was promoting it at San Diego (not in person as I wasn't there  ) but I saw the pics! |

There's no news on that yet - but if it's a success our channel 4 will probably buy it .. the BBC likes to make it's own stuff as does ITV so Channel 4 gets the imported stuff (thankfully we don't get import taxed on that Yes - we are a weird little country where most people have only 4 channels... there is a 5th one but the reception is so poor and the content so rubbish most don't bother with it |

So do you have cable or do you have the rabbit ears antenna?
4 channels, that would be great, less tv channels means less tv watching. When you get 200-300 channels it just means more likely something will be on you will watch instead of doing something more productive.

I have a digital cable box. It has an automatic TV guide on the channels with On Demand, where I can watch movies and shows whenever I want with pausing and fast forward, etc. I think it is a little much, but since my husband had it with his parents before we were married, he had to have it now. Yes, we have 200-300 channels. HBO is channcels 301-312. I have all the 100 channels and everything. And what do i prefer to do? Play video games and rent movies. Do I think it is worth the money? Absolutely not.

LOL there are plenty of cable and satellite channels around if we want to pay for them. But everyone in the UK pays about $200 to the BBC for the privilidge of watching "Normal" TV so lots of people just watch the 4 we have from that!!!

Are you asking me this? If so, the movie channels only have commercials between the movies. Regular channels do have commercials. I get a monthly bill of $72 USD. It is through Comcast Cable, if you ever heard of them. Now if I want their high speed internet access, the bill would go up another $40 a month. it is a nice feature and it is nice to be able to look a couple days in advance to see what is on and what it is about. But I still don't think it is worth the money. But taking it away from my husband would be the hard part. |

Yes - they are quite nasty about it - every address in the UK gets sent a nasty reminder about it whether you have a TV or not... then they have detection equipment and they go around looking for people using TVs who don't have a license. And then they talk to us about the "unique" way the BBC is funded... yes it is unique but can be a bit draconian. No BBC channels (2 channels) don't have commercials but then again it costs us about $200+ a year for it (I think it's about $70 a year if you only have a black and white TV). Back to Dom for a minute, his small screen debut was in a BBC drama "Hetty Waintrop investigates". I can't remember well as it was about 10 years since the first episode but for some reason Hetty (played by the brilliant Patricia Routledge) starts up as a private investigator and recruites Geoffry (played by Dom Monaghan (who she first meets when he's stealing the money out of a charity collection box) as her trusty sidekick, and even gives him shelter in the home of her and her husband (she's about 35 years his senior in the drama) and they set up as this very clever and unorthodox private detection agency. I haven't seen an episode for years but I enjoyed it way back when and to go to FOTR and see "Geoffrey" again was great  |

Watched the Premiere of "Lost" and enjoyed it very much. The first episode was very well done and looks to have a bit of Jurassic Park in it! Dom did a good job in his secondary role in the show. |

I saw the first episode of Lost and liked it. I can't wait for next weeks show. I had been waiting to see it for a while knowing Dominic was going to be in it.
While I was waiting for Lost to be on TV I rented Hetty Waintropp from Netflix and really liked Dominic in that. I may have to buy it now just so I can watch it whenever I want.
