I can't advise you on the thickness of the 120pt case vs the SS prop but I'm sure someone on here can.

My first few cards ever were kept in these sorts of cases but once you get a few a binder often starts to look more attractive

I think the only things to check are a) is the card the right size for the case and b) are you happy it's not going to be subject to extremes of temperature (allowing for condensation to form inside the case).

Just my two pennies - there will be more knowledgeable folk around to advise.

Lots and lots of people keep their cards successfully in cases! Whereabouts on the planet do you live? Is condensation even an issue?

Moisture... makes the paper fiber swell up, expand and if the holder is too tight it may make the face
 of the card come up and stick to the case. Then, when you open the case you pull the card apart.
If you use screw cases be sure to use one a little bigger.
Most autograph cards are 15 points thick, the DE1 to DE6 and the Quad auto/costumes are thicker.
I use Pro-mold brand size 5II for autograph cards, good for up to 20 points. I also then put the whole thing in a team bag.
A point is equal to .001 inches, a standard measurement unit for paper thickness is "points".
Points is usually abbreviated "pt". No, it is not the same as in 'lets have a pint".  Context is everything.

I`ve used iOffer before,not for trading cards though! It`s a great site.On the point of condensation!It`s a valid point! I have the complete Buffy the vampire slayer auto cards along with Angel and others which i have framed inside toploaders and i`m sometimes worried that the cards could sweat pressed against the glass in my front room esp if the heating is on! I`ve never displayed any cards where direct sunlight reflects on them however
I have all my Harry Potter items in the official binders stored away
