@rns91294 I know what a redemption card is and why they use them! Shocked
They could always release the cases a couple of months later! when they do have the cards back Tongue

I've been away on vacation, but now that I'm home, it's time to jump in on the conversation. Wink

Just looked at the auctions. They could have used a better picture for the Cedric card.....you can barely see him!.

Artbox doesn't have a lot of choice in the matter.  Warner Bros. determines which images are used.  For MM2, there was a Petunia costume card with a picture of Aunt Marge on the front.  If you look at the picture, you can see Petunia waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay in the background.  At first, we all thought Artbox made a mistake, that it was a costume for Marge.  I asked Kay and she said that picture was the only one that WB would approve for the Petunia swatch.

There was no deadline, like a movie release.  So why not wait and release it when you have them in hand?

The thing is, Artbox is damned either way.  People complain about redemptions and they complain if a release is delayed by even a week.  It's true that this particular release could have been delayed a month or two without impacting the Deathly Hallows 1 release (expected in November).  But, it's been many months since Artbox released a card set and I'm sure they had financial reeasons for shipping it by the end of the fiscal year.

To be honest,i don`t see why we need redemption cards in the first place! :-\Simply put the cards in the cases already signed and if they do have a problem with any actors/actresses,put the reserve cards in instead.

What reserve cards?  Do you mean the ComicCon exclusive cards Artbox is planning to sell at SDCC later this month or the cards held aside from each release that are used as replacements for damaged cards?  I know I wouldn't be too happy if I pulled a damaged card the first week of release and Artbox had no replacements available.

I would love for them to include the SDCC cards Cindy!  ROFL! You are also right, no matter how Artbox (or any card manufacturer) does it, someone will always be unhappy. I do remember that Aunt Petunia card and asked Kay about it. I guess now that Robert Pattinson is a big star Roll Eyes there is not much imaging they can use of him.

I had a feeling you knew what they were. lol.

breakdowns and numbers would be greatly appreciated. I am a little more angry that the cases were staggered in shipping, and my person I am buying from on the East coast doesn't even have his yet, while almost everyone else does

Not sure about this Bryan. As Artbox is in CA, if they ship all at the same time, dealers in CA will get them the next day while it takes UPS 5 days to get to the East Coast. That would be why the East Coast got them last (not including other countries). I think the East Coast dealers got their shipment yesterday though, so yours should be on their way.

I noticed that there were a few cards being sold on eBay from a west coast seller, it appears that a few of the cards sold and either the seller ended a couple of his auctions or ebay stopped the sale. It makes it difficult for east coast sellers to receive and list there items, to be competitive, if they are receiving them 5 days later. It is an advantage to be able to be the first to list items as the first cards from any release seem to bring a higher price. Artbox perhaps should not let west coast seller list there items until all seller and distributors have received there supplies or as was mentioned earlier in this thread stamp a don't sell before a certain date on the boxes.

That is my point, they should stagger the shipping, so the east coast gets theirs the same day as the west coast. Topps and Upper Deck do it.

I thought they did this for one of their past releases. Either way, they need to be more clear with their release date because no one is supposed to sell these cards until July 12th. What is going to happen because one person lists early is that distributors will not be allowed to ship their boxes until the release date, or Artbox won't start shipping until that date. One person can ruin it for all...so they really do need to be more clear.

Oh, and that seller's auctions ended last night. The same seller now has MORE cards listed that end in 2 days. I wish eBay would end their auctions....I tried to report it with the reason, but no reasons matched and there was not a space to add your own comment.....Artbox might stop drop shipping to customers because of this.

Another redemption has turned up.  It's a dual auto for Kingsley and Tonks.

As for the eBay seller who's jumped the gun, he or she will probably discover that the distributor will no longer sell to him/her.  eBay will not remove the auctions, nor should it.  It's up to Artbox and the distributors to handle the situation.  Artbox needs to better communicate with distributors and others the exact release date and what "release date" actually means.  Telling people the release date is July 12 does not clearly communicate that no one is allowed to resell individual cards until that date.

Artbox usually staggers shipping so that UK and East Coast orders go out first and West Coast orders go out last.  Do we know for sure that didn't happen?  It could be that Bryan's distributor experienced a shipping delay with UPS.

Pretty sure it didn't happen Cindy. Seems like a lot of people got them on the West Coast earlier this week, while East Coast just got theirs. I could be wrong though.

You are also right about the "release date". I always thought that was the date the item was set to come out and ship. For example, a video game or a movie has a release date, and you most likely will not be able to find it until that actual date comes along. For Artbox, they set a date, but if you happen to get it earlier than that date, some might figure they were able to get it out earlier and be done with it. They really do need to let people know that this means you can not sell these cards until that actual date, even if you do get them sooner.

Just looking at this again. I think it is funny how Artbox referred to everyone by their character name for the costumes list....except Robert Pattinson/Cedric Diggory. Too funny.   ROFL!

With eight of 11 autos being redemptions, then yes, people have a right to complain.  By the way, I never said that people shouldn't complain, only that they'd complain about redemptions and complain if the release were delayed to allow more time to insert autos in packs.

I still can't believe that the people at Artbox are happy about redemptions.  It's a pain for collectors and a lot of work and money for Artbox to mail out the cards.

8 of the 11? That is ridiculous. Unacceptable in my opinion.  Hopping Mad

Oh, and I can also tell you that Alecto's costume and the Slytherin Quidditch costume are both "material used to create".

While I dont like the redemptions I love to bust the boxes so I like them to release the product as soon as possible. It usually does not take long to get them back IMO. Got an email today my case has been shipped and will arrive the 14th.. Some get theres a week early and I get mine 2 days late.  Evil

they really have some funny numbers so far . Almost 2200 props produced when there should be only 1200 in cases. .  I know they always over produce for giveaways and damage but to maked almost 100% extra wow.

It makes me wonder if they originally planned to produce more cases, but cut the run back to 300 cases.
