The HBO series 'Carnivale' starts on satellite tv here in the UK next week and I was wondering if our friends 'cross the ocean could advise if its worth watching.

Good / bad / indifferent ?

I've heard it's very good, but alas I've never seen it, and if it's only on Satellite then I'm not going to either  Undecided

i've seen that in bits and pieces when the first season showed and i liked it. its about life and relationships in a travelling circus (for lack of words to describe it) lot of twists and turns and very nice. mystery like the sopranos and quite a dark mood to it.

I watch Carnivale along with my sister  Smiley

I don't  know if it came to the UK yet or not and you decided to check it out but here is a little of what it's about in case your still wondering:

Ben Hawkins an 18 year old fugitive joins the Carnival in the first episode and you find out their is a dark secret going on that involves him.

The show also follows a character by the name of Brother Justin, and you find out that eventually him and Ben will meet and their will be a confrontation between the two.

The show would be best if you watched it in order and easier to understand if you didn't miss an episode. We just finished our second season over here and it always seems to end with a major cliffhanger so if you don't like that either I thought you should be warned  Wink

Be warned though their is a lot of nudity and violence so if your not into that it probably would be best to steer clear of this show.

These links  will really help you find out what it's about and who the stars are:

Hope this helps  Grin

I've seen the first two seasons and I liked it.  I like Deadwood better but I still think Carnivale is worth a watch.

I would agree. For any of "Twin Peaks" fans, this one has the similar creepy forboding type style. In the end, both scare the crap out of me, but I continue to watch them again and again!

Bad news for us Carnivale fans  :'(

according to sci fi wire HBO may not renew it for a third season.

Fingers crossed they change their mind because it just can't end the way it did  Angry
