Need advice for trip to London!!

Ok this is for all you guys out there in England   My dad and I are trying to figure out how much we'd be paying for our trip to London to see the Howard Shore concert on Spet 22. Hoping it won't be too much that we won't be able to go  

Thought I'd post here to see if anyone knows any good places to stay/eat while we're there and their prices or maybe a website to check out. I'm sure you guys could recommend some places to go and see while we're there. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I could sleep on Mark's floor and leave you my room if the worst comes to the worst but I am in Cambridge a 50 minute train journey to London (£15 too!)

There are tonnes of great places to eat in London but a nice chain in London that serves great pizzas, pastas and salads reasonably is Pizza Express (located everywhere - very nice, much nicer than the name sounds)!

If you want to try a bit of English "grub" one of the nicest places to eat it in London (hint hint try fish and chips) is Fortnum and Mason's restaurant, it's on the ground floor and you eat all the same food as the Queen Mum used to eat (it was her supermarket) - the tea to drink in there (as they will ask you what blend you want if you order tea) is "Royal Blend" I have no idea on this but I presume it was her favourite tea!

If you want I can come and show you around a bit as I used to live in London for 3 years when I did my undergraduate degree.

Any advice anyone? Hmmmm... my advice would be to stand by the "artists entrance" of the Royal Albert - and bring a CD or DVD case to get signed... you never know I might see you there if I am not busy that afternoon as I would like to get savage 727 off this forum an auto on something of his choice... well Mark does and I agree!

No, not with the dollar at 1.8 to the pound that's for sure, that's why I recommended the pizza place

Great one - that's snazzier than me.... though Cam is much less hot and sticky than London so I am relieved to behere but I hada  whale of a time there for 3 years!

Thanks all for the advice so far! It looks like it would be a 5 day stay but that includes traveling time. So we're still not sure if it'd be worth the trip or if we should wait until next summer to come visit for a longer stay...but then again we don't know if there would be another Howard Shore concert there. If only we knew there was...we'd wait until then. Argh!
