Hi Jas - good to see you!! How's the youngster doing these days?  Wink Grin

ahhhh the 'special' auto cards - the ones that should've been done and weren't!! Roll Eyes ROFL!
I'd forgotten just how good these were ... great to see them again!! Grin

I've just had a wee look at some of the stuff you've listed - I don't ever recall seeing the ceramic tiles you have for sale before - were they produced for the US market or more generally?
I think the wallpaper border was available in the UK but a very long time ago now ... that must be a real collector's piece as most of the rolls will have been used!

Sounds like you're getting ready to part with your collection Jas - any particular reason why or just that it's time to let it go, if you know what I mean? Wink

AH.. how are you doing??

It has been to long.. way to long.. the youngster is 15 months now.. and about 8 handfuls!!! He is into everything.. and anything that he shouldnt be, I am sure any parents are laughing about now Smiley

I have had this stuff in a closet since I moved, most of it just laying there and I am sure I could have sold it for alot more if I would have done it when it was big or wait until the Hobit is out ( BTW it is about freaking time!!!!!!) I just feel someone who is a collector would want it more.

About 3 months ago well.. a bit before Xmas I was going to go out and buy an HD DVD( what a mistake now huh??) to watch one night and the wife tells me..hold on and I was like man I got a good wife!!! she already got the movie! this is awesome.. so she comes back in the kitchen with no freaking movie wtf is up with that!?!? She said Well I was going to wait until Xmas but.. and right then I knew.. there will be another little orc running around sometime before thanksgiving ( Aug 14 I think Tongue ) So needless to say I love everything I have been working on my scrapbook I have of everything and just thought I could save up whatever I get and put it toward the baby ordoing something for the baby when he/she gets here ( Wife is praying for a girl). I love the movies and everything I still have but I woul dhate to see this get destroyed.. like the little one has already done! he managed to get where only I thought I could get and break a certain Dark lord in half lol. but I just think it was time to let it go and make someone elses day... I hope it is the right choice!

The tiles were a US thing I do believe.. I was going to tile a room with them but I think things have changed Tongue
I dont want to part with it all.. some of it I have up I prob cant let go of, some of it Roz would kill me if I did let go of it Tongue Those pieces are prob going her way Smiley

Oh that and watching Tornados hit all over the place a month or so ago was killer fun! ( I am outside Memphis TN)

I have a few others I took outside my house Tongue

I hope you are doing well.. Readind up I heard Mark finally made Roz #1 in command and the boss Tongue

That's fantastic news and the best excuse to let your beloved collection go to another deserving home, but you're right of course - it will be hard to let certain things go and all I can say to that is 'keep them' and maybe stash them on the tops of wardrobes or in the loft/attic (if you have one) where itchy little fingers can't get hold of them.  Wink
Let me one of the first to offer you and your wife heartfelt congratulations on the latest addition to your family due in August - you think you have your hands full now, just you wait until you have two little bundles to cope with under 2 yrs old!!  Shocked Wink
Of all the LOTR things you own I would think your folder with all the signed photos would be the thing you ought to keep, mostly because you met the people who've signed them and will have memories attached to them unique to you. I know some people would suggest that you actually get them framed, but there's the risk of UV damage to the signatures if you do that in spite of the special UV-filtering glass you can get these days and then there's the question of where to hang them espcially if you have tornadoes in the area where you now live!
[Awesome photo by the way!! Shocked]
The tiles are exceptionally nice though - shame we didn't get them here in the UK as I'm sure they would've been snapped up!
I'm the same with my LOTR items as you are - I should've sold those items I no longer wanted to keep long before now as the interest has waned to such a degree as to make most of them worthless - guess I'll just have to hang onto them for a bit longer and hope that once The Hobbit is finally made then there will be a resurgence of interest in all of the films.  Praying

Ah, I remember those days...heck, my twins are eight now and they still get into everything!  I tucked away a lot of important/breakable stuff and most of it is still where I hid it. Roll Eyes

Congrats on your impending arrival! Cheesy  I can tell you from personal experience that August is a great month for a birthday. Wink

I agree with Jules.  You should consider keeping the autographed photos.  They might not sell for much on eBay, anyway, since people are wary of autos that don't have a COA.  I would say that if you're going to sell most of your collection, it's okay to keep a few things for yourself. Smiley

How close was that tornado to your house? Shocked  You must have nerves of steel, because I would have been cowering in the basement instead of taking pictures outside.
