new PayPal scam

I received an email this morning that purports to be from PayPal.  The title of the email is, "Enter For A Chance To Win $10,000 and an iPhone."  When you place your mouse over the links in the email, the addresses that pop up are not official PayPal addresses.  I've forwarded it to PayPal and will post again when I hear back.  Until then, it is highly advisable that should anyone else receive the email, do not click on the links or enter the contest.

I received that one too!  I just deleted it when it came through...
didn't even cross my mind that it could be spoof...it even had my
complete FULL name in it!!

I received the same e-mail as well and it was promptly sent to the trash.  The fake/spoof Paypal/eBay e-mails seem (for me at least) to come in waves and some of them look very legitimate.

Nowadays when I get an e-mail from eBay or Paypal, I independently logon to the respective website to check for a message and, more often than not, it turns out to be a fake.  I NEVER use the link supplied in the e-mail.

I just got one of those Paypal scams with my first and last name on it.  It was for a "payment" I supposedly made for $200.  The type face looked weird, so I logged into Paypal to check it out and found out it was a fraud.  Don't ever click on a link in a Paypal email.  If it's legit the charge will show on your Paypal history when you log in.
