JKR's site has been updated with a transcript from the Edinburgh Book Festival and a snippet from HBP behind the locked door.

There are several steps to get to the text.  If anyone needs help, the answers can be found at www.the-leaky-cauldron.org.  Scroll down to the article about the door.  In the comments section, people have left hints and even solved the puzzles.

Wow - thanks for this KB, it's almost like being there - only without the queues and the scratchy dry eyes from lack of sleep!

Rita Skeeter - like asks

Is Aunt Petunia a Squib?

quote from JK

Good question. No, she is not, but...[Laughter]. No, she is not a Squib. She is a Muggle, but...[Laughter]. You will have to read the other books

 Shocked

I was surprised that Harry doesn't have a godmother.  I always thought that there'd be a female parental figure for him, somewhere.

True - when she was asked that question it was as though they were asking if Sirius married!

As far as I know Godparents don't have to be married to each other - especially as I have 3 it would all get a bit complicated!

Most peculiar - what was she thinking? Was she secretly giving something away? Perhaps I have started reading too much in things

Sirius, Remus, or even Peter being married, and then having the wife involved in the story, would be the kind of huge surprise she likes to spring on her readers.  No one would expect any of them to be married.  But I thought that if Harry had a godmother, she wouldn't be married to Sirius or in the Order.  She'd be another level of protection for the baby.  It's all a moot point, now.

Her questions to fans, about why Voldemort didn't die when the curse rebounded and why Dumbledore didn't try to kill Voldemort in the Ministry o Magic, are another story.  If she doesn't want people to figure out how the series will end, why is she goading people to try to answer these questions?

Wow, it took me AGES to work out the door secret... and the scrap of paper is even more frustrating...I reckon she's describing Lupin.

Also, I did not know that Dean Thomas lived with his mother and step-father. So his father was a wizard who was killed because he did not want to join the death eaters - well, well, welll, we may have a very likely contender for the Half Blood Prince!

As for that interview, well all I can say is... wow. Its definitely given me alot to think about Smiley Aunt Petunia not being a Squib, Dudley not being the HBP (phew!)... well its going to keep me occupied until HP update at least Cheesy
