I was just attempting to search for a particular card series, to see if there were any exsisting threads about it before making a new one.  I used search and it came up with no results.  I didn't think anything too much of that but I thought I'd just check to see that search was working in proper order.  I wanted to try something obvious, so I tried to search for the word Potter but that yielded no results as well!!  I then searched the word Harry, same result and last I tried 'the' and of course, no results were returned either!

I can't see that this search problem topic has been talked about in the 'About the Forum' section yet and apologise if it has, but then again I can't search for it!  :'(  Grin

Not sure if this is just a problem on my end or if others are having mishaps of a similar nature?

(My first post by the way! Cheesy)

Welcome welcome.

The forum is actually on a temporary server and awaiting a move. As such it's going to need reinstalling etc, and we may even change the type of forum we use too so the forum's been in a like-limbo state for some time now.

Mark has purchased the new home for the Shack but is currently testing it out with other websites. It's likely he'll install the forum elsewhere in a 'frozen state' (i.e. taking a snapshop of how the forum looks now) so that he can try and test it out there whilst we can continue to use the real shack here minimising disturbance to us whilst he gets it all set up correctly.

If it's a certain Harry Potter set you are looking for, all the sets have their own forums so it really shouldn't be too difficult to find, but if you let us know what you seek info on we can always point you in the right direction.

Thank you for the replies both of you, much appreciated! Smiley

It was not a HP related set that I searched for, but I was wondering if there was an exsisting thread for the new 'The Golden Compass' series coming out in November from Inkworks.  I had quite a good look in the Trading Card Sets section (where I would expect to see it perhaps?) but couldn't see anything about it there.

On the HP (and more introductory) note, I've just started to get very interested in Trading Cards again and in particular the HP sets.  Managed to get three boxes recently although annoyingly I didn't pull anything of much interest or get any nice varients!  I shall keep trying though of course.  Praying

Thanks again for the replies!

No one has started a thread yet for The Golden Compass, but you can in the Trading Card Sets section, if you'd like. Smiley

Roz and Mark, do you have an estimated date for the move?

Clocks, no I don't know much about the film the Golden Compass nor do I have any of the promos. I've seen some on eBay and they look great. Please do start a thread, I should look up the story in Wikipedia - are they based on books?

Hi Cindy

No, no estimated date for the move. The new server is in the process of being formatted, set up etc to make sure it runs everything Mark need (including the troublesome ruby on rails etc.) and at the moment we are entirely dependant on the company. Mark's very busy (as always) with a Flash project at the mo, and as I said he wants to test out a few things and perhaps check out other forum-types first so it's not imminent. We'll definitely let you know and it shouldn't be more than a few hours down time whilst our ISPs begin to recognise the new location of the Shack. We'll make sure not to time it near the release of a cool set if poss, but there's not much HP on the horizon at the moment is there? *she hopes*

Thanks for the info. Smiley  That's a lot of work! Shocked  I don't envy Mark at all.

For planning purposes, November 2007 through January 2008 could be very busy.  I've heard reports that OOTPU will be released in November or December (December is more likely), but there is truly no info available about the set.  Topps is expected to release the Pirates of the Caribbean set in November, and there is supposed to be another sketch set, LOTR Masterpieces 2, due in January 2008.

There will also be two big sketch sets this fall -- DC Legacy at the end of this month and Marvel Masterpieces on October 31.  While I'm sure people will post their pulls, they probably won't affect traffic to the site as much as the HP, POTC, and LOTR sets will.

What?  Damn, that's just too close to the other sketch sets....

I shouldn't be complaining, but I'm having to pick & choose sets with care way more often than I did two years ago...

Ooh well, I was only hoping for a less than 24 hour back-out (depending on how often your Internet Service Provider updates and checks their database) it's always fun to see who gets on the Shack first. It's never us ... the people who run the place Tongue

If you check the above thread, I've wrote a little bit of information on the series there for you, hope that's of some help!

I have read all three of the books. I recommend them.
The movie trailer looks good as well.
