This set has great potential, but...I don't think it's fair to collectors or dealers to release 3D and OOTP only 21 days apart. There will be people who won't have received their 3D order when OOTP is shipped, never mind how difficult it will be to collect two sets at the same time. Both sets could suffer. ********************************* (Edit) And so it begins. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290108896149

I just wanted to say that having seen these in person, I can promis you that the cards look much better than that promo does in that scan. Of course, with anything 3D, the scan never looks right.
The price, however, well, that's a different story. Is any promo worth that much?

I received the P1 Troll promo today and I have to say it's pretty neat! The card is made of a thin, flexible plastic (not like the lenticular case loaders). The image has depth -- both the troll head and the words "Harry Potter" seem to pop out from the card. I honestly can't wait to see the rest of the set!

I'm really looking forward to seeing these cards!

Hmm.....sounds a lot like the Rittenhouse's women of james bond in motion cards material.
Anyway, glad that I ordered a case already!!!
Now we just need some more detailed updates as to what costume and prop cards are inserted

The order deadline for distributors is May 4, so it would be nice if we received more info before then.

It'll be interesting to see how this all shakes out. Right now, Artbox is releasing 3D the last week of May, Season 5 of 24 the first week of June, and OOTP the third week of June. That's a very ambitious schedule over a 22-day period.

Exactly why I am not thinking they will stick to it. I just can't see them staying on schedule, particularly with OOTP. Cindy's right--this will be interesting to see.

Put me in with the group that is just going to get a box, not a case. I'm more of an autograph collector, and with only two new ones (neither one I want), there doesn't seem to be a lot of incentive for me. I can pick up the autographs I want elsewhere. I'd rather save my money for OOTP.

I got this e-mail today:
Artbox has announced a sell out on the very limited print run of The World of Harry Potter 3-D
From Tom, he says he has a few cases left.
As for OoTP, I wouldn't be at all surprised if it were delayed until August or so.

I guess it's too much to hope that the email had some new pictures or details about the cards?

Come on, the distributor deadline is two days away! What does it matter though? Artbox sold out another one without giving us any information. Until half the print run sits there on release day, there is no motivation for them to do anything different. Ed

Sadly Ed, you are right Artbox knows that it can rely on the Harry Potter name to sell out of any release. With the ongoing lack of communications and, let's face it, lacklustre sets (yes, the 3D concept is interesting, but worth a new set?), I'm surprised that people are still buying this stuff. I'll buy one or two cards that interest me and a base set. Not risking the usual 1/2 case with this one.
