Hiya everyone,

Bought an item from this seller on 13th Feb, and sent PayPal payment that night. I paid the amount for first class postage.

9 days later and I have no parcel, and no response to email Sad

Looking at their feedback it is generally good; they sell a large amount of goods, and only have 6 negs in the last year, a small amount when considered in conjunction with the number of items sold.

Has anyone else had any experience with this seller?

Many thanks
Elaine

Hi Elaine - welcome to the Yak shack!  Grin

Quite a few of us have dealt with this seller at one time or another.  Wink
If you're in the UK, then why not give him a quick ring to see if he can sort out why you haven't received your auction win from him yet.
If you look in his ebay store you will see he's listed his phone number there plus an email address that you could try as well.  Smiley
He's also a Yak Shack member - Card_Vault - so you could send him a personal message through the forum to try and find out that way too.

Good luck with it and please let us know how you get on!  Smiley

I've tried getting in contact with Richard for 2 weeks, sent him several emails still no response from him either Undecided. Maybe he's busy at the moment, i just hope he will answer sooner or later.

I always seem to get everything within a week when it's from him or Thomas, even if it's by regular mail to the US, no idea why. He's a very good seller, like Mo said, you shouldn't worry too much, i'd say wait for another week.

Thank you for the replies.

As it seems he's generally very good I'll give him more time; if people are generally prompt then i'm sure there's a good reason for the delay Smiley

Will give him another week and then will consider again what to do next.

Will keep you informed.

Galea, please let me know if you hear anything; maybe he doesn't think i'm a very worthy customer  ROFL!

I haven't spoken to Mr Wheat for a while but looking at the sheer number of feedback he's had in the last month he must be swamped with packing & posting, and he probably gives that highest priority... I'm sure it will be fine, but if you're worried, check out his eBay 'about me' page and give him a call.

I just executed a private sale with Card vault and had no problems.  I've also bought several items from him via  Ebay!, and the same results.  I don't know where you live.  I live in the United States, and it always takes several weeks to receive items from Great Britain.  It just may still be in the mail.   I contacted him about an item I had purchased from him on ebay, and he got back in touch with me within a few hours.  I certainly wouldn't hesitate to purchase from him again.

I live in the UK, which is why I'm more concerned about the fact it still isn't here Sad

Still waiting, so going to try contacting him again I think.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Well finally got an email from Richard on the 27th Feb saying that my item had been dispatched and should arrive with me shortly (this is 14 days after i'd paid by PayPal).

However it is now the 2nd of March and still no parcel; paying £4.25 for first class postage was most certainly a big waste of money!

Considering I am also in the UK overseas shipping delays can't even be blamed.

I'm sorry to say that I certainly feel unable to recommend this seller to anyone, even though I know many of you have had many highly successful transactions with him.

Oh dear .... definitely not one of his best transactions Elaine ...  Sad
Did you try phoning him at all or did you just stick with email contact Elaine?

I've just bought a card from him (my son is buying it for me for my Mother's Day gift but doesn't know it yet! ROFL! ), so I'll let you know how fast or slow it is to arrive. Wink

Boy that kinda sounds like what happened to me in the early stages on collecting Potter cards
I bought from someone in London and was having it shipped to Liverpool and all it took was about 3 1/2 weeks..and over 2 weeks from a response from the seller..although he didn't admit it, I think he sold my card that he didn't have anymore and just went out and purchased another one to fill my order...and problably had to wait for his delivery Huh??

Hello Everyone
I have been alerted to this post and think I should have a little input.
It is Richard from the aforementioned ''Card Vault'' and I would like to clarify a couple of items regarding this transaction and why it has taken so long.
Elaine as she said paid for the item 14 days ago BUT did not wait for the invoice - It does stipulate in my terms of sale that you must wait for this so the order will not be delayed
Elaine only paid for first class postage and although she paid the correct amount I no longer ship items that do not fit into peoples letter boxes first class. I have had too many items go missing because the postie turns up - cant fit it in the door and then it gets returned to the depot and enters that big black hole - disappears.
The problem I have then is that the buyer not receiving the item initiates a chargeback via Paypal and I am without both the money and the goods - A totall unfair situation but any a Ebay seller will be all too familiar with.
I was trying to correspond with Elaine but for some reason the emails were not getting through - I have been having problems with a few ISPs and in particular hotmail accounts - when this dawned on me I send an email through ebay and thus I think the email she received.
I have posted the ebay win out to Elaine and I sent it recorded incurring the extra charges as a gesture of good will but it seems that more and more people expect the item they win and pay for to be on the doorstep the next day and problems should never arrise. I am not aiming this at Elaine directly but this is a trend that is happening.
I also buy and I find with a little patience it is very rare and dont get something and I dont even start to miss it until about 3-4 weeks.
I notice also in the previous posts that people asked Elaine to phone me - this is always the best way to sort anything out. I never received a call?
Anyway I hope Elaine receives her win tomorrow - it should be there [posted recorded first class]
Thanks Richard
P.S.Further comments are always welcomed Grin

Thanks for your input Richard - it's always good to get both sides when transactions don't run according to plan and hopefully Elainie will receive her goods from you shortly.  Wink Grin

I think it fair to say that many people don't like to phone about their auction items, for fear of being seen as a nuisance or perhaps worried in case the person they've rung is rude to them - I'm in no way implying you treat folk like this either, I'm just giving an example - hopefully once others read this thread they'll feel more inclined to pick up the phone in future to see how things are progressing.  Wink
