It's official!  Sideshow has announced a new Lord of the Rings product line called LOTR's Dioramas!   Smiley  These will be in 1/9 scale and feature prominent scenes from all the movies.  The first diorama announced is of Frodo and Gollum battling for the Ring at The Crack of Doom!  It looks pretty cool and you can see all the details here:  http://www.sideshowtoy.com/behindtheshow/?page_id=2567&source=020107news

I personally can't wait to see a Aragorn vrs Lurtz and Gandalf vrs the Balrog.  I can think of so many more scenes I would love to see created and look forward to see what Sideshow comes up with!   Smiley

What would you like to see as a diorama from the films.  List as many scenes as you would like!   Smiley

I would like to see:
1. The Mines of Moria with all of the Fellowship poised for battle.
2. The scene at Rivendell when the Fellowship is formed.
3. A Shire scene (possibly at Bag End with Bilbo and Gandalf/at the Party)
4. Eowyn killing the WitchKing on the Pelennor Fields
5. Gandalf chasing the Fell Beasts away so that Faramir and his men can reach the gates of Gondor
6. Legolas on that Oliphaunt. You all know that scene Wink

Oh there are so many ideas!!!

Sideshow has announced their second Lord of the Rings Diorama and it is the one I have been waiting for - yes folks it is going to be Aragorn fighting at the Battle of Helm's Deep on The Wall against two Uruk-Hai.  I have provided the prototype photograph Sideshow released.  I posted as did some others on Sideshow's site that Aragorn needs more facial hair but other than that he looks perfect!   Smiley  I believe Sideshow will improve this prior to the actual release.  When the release date is given I will post it here.  Enjoy!   Cool

Wowowowow!!! That looks AMAZING!

I agree that Aragorn needs to be hairier - he looks about 18 in that prototype! Wink

Sideshow released more info and pictures on this one today and started to take pre-orders.  I very happily put my order in for one!  It will be released at the end of this year just in time for Christmas!   Smiley  Aragorn does indeed have more facial hair happily!   Smiley

It's not a cheap one!

$299! The same price as the Aragorn at the Black Gates.

Granted Jo but you get 3 figures and a wall section from Helm's Deep which I think is pretty good for the money.   Smiley

Oh Gees I just noticed that Aragorn slashed the Berserker Uruk-Hai on the ladder across the throat!   Smiley

COOL!   Wink
Dioramas are a super idea.  Now I'm waiting for a Sam and Gollum arguing over the rabbit!  ROFL!
I just bought my very first Sideshow piece.  The battle helm of Eowyn.  It was on sale, so I thought why not?  I'm going to come up with some way to display it with a picture of her in battle gear behind the helmet.
How tall is the Helm's Deep diorama, Ed?

Hi Kelly:

Here is what Sideshow says:

Sideshow Collectibles and New Line Cinema are proud to bring you the second entry in the series of The Lord of the Rings Dioramas. The Walls of Helm's Deep Diorama captures Aragorn in the heat of battle, as he turns from one attacker to another with grim resolve. The Uruk-hai berserker is slain, but before Aragorn can dispatch the ladder, he must face a ferocious swordsman. The diorama has been sculpted in approximately 1:9 scale, each figure standing approximately 9.5 inches tall. Each piece is cast in high quality polystone, hand-finished, and hand-painted to exacting standards. The Walls of Helm's Deep Diorama is complete with a hand-numbered individual edition number on the bottom side of the base. Don't miss this chance to continue your collection of The Lord of the Rings Dioramas!

© 2007 New Line Cinema

Product Type: Polystone Diorama

Oh - I agree Ed it's great value for money. Especially given the detail and number of figures.

Not sure I want a Uruk-Hai with a slashed throat as one though Tongue Wink

Don't worry Jo - I am sure Sideshow is going to come up with a diorama with Legolas in it - maybe in The Mines of Moria vs The Cave Troll or on The Pelennor Fields fighting that Elephant!  Now those two would be very cool!   Smiley
