Currently watchin them aswell here in the UK. I am a bears fan but I have followed the Saints because of the Hurricane impact so it will be a shame to see either team go. As for the Patriots Colts game I have no preference but lookin forward to a great game either way.

This Saints/Bears game is really not pretty.  This is a battle of the Defenses so far. If the Saints can shake Grossman, they have a shot at winning, but if they can't protect Drew and open some seams for Reggie, they are going to struggle.

You're right about the Saints game, Bitsy.  The first half was especially ugly. 
Colts/Patriots tied at 28-28!!!!  Going back to watch!!!

As for me, I really dislike Peyton Manning, so I will be hoping for some serious Bears Defense to show up on Super Bowl Sunday    It really should be a good game, one of the best defenses against one of the best offenses.   Da Bears!!!

they did blow it...they played great in the first half and then it just seems they completely ran out of gas.

yeah? why no love for Peyton? He seems like a very humble person...never ever hear of him getting in trouble, or publicly calling out people on his team like a lot of other QB's do. I personally dislike Eli, but I dislike the entire Giants team...they are a bunch of hot heads.

I'm definately a Peyton fan.  Although he could never win the big one (UF) when he was with Tennessee, he's not one of those pompos a** big name players who think they can do whatever they want just because they can play football.  This guy works incredibly hard and you don't see him getting into trouble.
As for Eli, I like him too, but he needs to be more like his brother and take charge on the field.  That will probably come with more experience though.
Hot heads...are you talking about Shockey?    He's constantly calling people out.

Tiki too (although he is gone) he was always blaming the coaching staff on his poor performances, that is just a really crappy thing to do. You are a player, a coach is your superior, you do not publicy defy your superior. Talk it over with him in Private. And don't even get me started on Shockey...he is a piece of human trash

I am a die-hard Detroit Lions fan, so no sad feelings here seeing the Patriots lose (other than it meant seeing Manning win, as I don't mind the colts, actually like the Colts, just hate Manning)  So here's the scoop as to why....

I got married October 20, 2006, my wife was in the middle of nursing school, so we elected to wait until Feb. to take our honeymoon, and we decided to go to Hawaii, as I had just been living there for the year previous.  And since we were going in Feb, we decided to go to the Pro Bowl.  So I talked to some people that I knew in Hawaii and got us seets right on the 50 yard line on the front row, on the AFC sideline.  And my wife and I were both big Manning fans at the time (she was mostly because she new nothing about football, and loves the name Peyton, and if we ever stop having girls whe wants to name one of our boys Peyton), so she had on a Manning jersey, and I had on the "Edge's" jersey.  We watched the game, and would yell, and Marvin Harrison waved at us a few times (as we had a huge sign that said "The Pro Bowl...No better way to spend a Honeymoon!!!" or something like that.  Well of course Peyton played in the first half of the game, and never touched the ball after that, but with about 5 minutes left in the game Peyton made his way towards the sideline where we were sitting, and started talking to the security guard, and pointing up into the stands towards 2 girls that appeared to be strippers (or something else ) and telling the security guard to let them on the field after the game.  So during the conversation my wife got up the courage to go over and shake his hand, and as he kind of had his back turned she tapped him on the shoulder pads, and he turned around looked at her and jogged off.  No high five, no hand shake, no nothin.  Needless to say about 20 fans around us saw how she was treated (90% of them drunk) so they started laying into Peyton Manning with all kinds of yelling, and he still did nothing.  I even caught it on camera, as I was hoping to get a picture with her and Petyton, but just snapped it as he was turning to walk away.  And right at the end of the game the two little hussies went down on the field and he took pictures with them, and they were both all over him, so it was clear that they weren't relatives, and that neither one of them was romantically involved passed whatever had transpired the past few nights.

So everytime she sees those commercials where he is trying to get a "high five" from the guys in suits, or gets thrown the apron from the busboy, she wants to scream!!!  I know that it is just one instance of him being like that, but you are in Hawaii at the Pro Bowl, you are already on the sidelines worried about two girls getting on the field after the game, so you clearly aren't thinking football anymore, and it really crushed Heather. So we are die-hard Peyton haters.  And if we have a boy his name will be Payton.  

So there is the tale of why we hate Peyton, I will try and dig up the picture.  It was a day that I wish the Pro-bowl was in Green Bay, as I would have been the first to throw a snowball at his head, and I am sure the people around us would have quickly joined in.

P.S.    I hate Eli too, because of relationship to Peyton, and his attitude towards entering the NFL, as it really ticks me off when a guy that is living out most kids dreams has an attitude like that when he is going to be the #1 pick in the draft.

Well, that does really stink.  But with thousands of fans always asking something of you everywhere you go, I sort of cut people slack on that kind of stuff. 
My dad met Mark Brunell at a function he went to and said that he was really great with everyone that came up to him, but I thought he was a jerk when I used to go down to the stadium after practices.  He hardly ever stopped for autographs, and never acknowledged anyone.  But then I realized that he couldn't even leave his house to go out with his wife without someone butting in, so I figured if he only wanted to interact with fans at official functions, then that was his choice.  It didn't make him a bad guy.  He's just not a really great quarterback. 
Peyton on the other hand is a great quarterback.  And I have his autograph-TWICE!  Yep, he was nice both times.

Well, that does really stink.  But with thousands of fans always asking something of you everywhere you go, I sort of cut people slack on that kind of stuff. 

I will cut people slack in given situations.  I have met a lot of sports stars in my day, many of them at conventions where they are being paid to be there, or told by there agent it is good publicity, and they are usually really nice then, as that is what they are geared up for.  And ya, if my wife would have went up and tapped him on the shoulder while he was out to dinner with wife, parents, family, by himself, really anything....or many other situations I would understand that kind of reaction, but he was already on the sideline, all he had to do was say hi and give her five, she didn't have a sharpe in his face or anything.  All that aside, I understand that famous people live in a different world and no matter how much any of us says that we would be different, its impossible to know until we have walked a thousand miles in their shoes.  All I know is what I saw, and it was not one of those times that he should have been a jerk.  And I imagine he has been a completely nice guy to thousands of fans, and that might be how he really is, or maybe knows he has to put on a show and curses them all in his head, I don't know, all I know is how he treated the one fan closest to me.

Interesting story Zach.  Sorry your wife had that unfortunate experiece with Peyton.  If I were in your shoes I would have had the same reaction.  That sure is a big change in climates going from Hawaii to Idaho.     I love Hawaii as well as I was stationed there for 3 years but I still would not trade it for New Hampshire and the 4 seasons.

I agree, Dungy deserves a Super-Bowl, as he is a classy guy.  I don't think Peyton deserved MVP though, his running backs were work horses tonight.   Now depression hits in, as their is over 7 months till the 2007 regular season
