Has anyone else had problems with her lately? I e-mailed her almost two weeks ago about items she had not paid for for over a month. She e-mailed me back asking for more time and apoligized for the delay and I told her I would give her another week..well I gave her almost two weeks before e-mailing her again Friday and I have not heard back from her yet so I Non Paying Bidder strikes against her (have not given the strikes, just filed them) She has over $250 worth of auctions unpaid for, some as far back as October.

Is she a member here? Or has anyone else had problems lately?

I know of this buyer Bryan - she's an avid LOTR collector from Germany and a regular buyer with certain sellers who I believe allow extra time for their auctions to be paid for.
(I haven't made this up either before anyone accuses me of anything, as I happen to know one of the sellers in question quite well.)  Wink

I checked back through her feedback and noticed there are a couple of forum members she's dealt with during the same period as your auctions - might it be worth contacting them to see how things went with their transaction?
I think you will have to file the non-paying bidder strikes whether you want to or not, as you've waited more than long enough for your payments.
As far as I'm aware she isn't a member on here, but only Roz and Mark know those kind of personal details .. perhaps she's a lurker?

Do let us know how you get on won't you.  Undecided

Hi

I am in the same boat, exept her total with me is around £70. She has bought from me before so I have been patient with her but it has been 2 weeks and I have not had any contact from her so I will have to file a non payment claim.

Regards

I have been in contact with Bettina recently. I don't feel comfortable to post what she told me but please giver her some if you can. Cards are not on her mind at the moment, she has some private matters to deal with that cosume all of her time and energy. I would not want to be in her position.

I do not mind giving her more time at all. I really do not want to have to actually give any strikes or anything, and I have only ever had to give out two negatives in my entire time on ebay...but they were well deserved (nasty people)

I had no problem giving her some extra time a couple weeks ago, I just wish she would at least reply to my e-mails...even if it is just a simple request for a little more time. Some auctions date back to the end of October....we are talking 45+ days ago. I read on another forum that a member or two is having the same troubles with her, but he made it sound like everything is cleared up now. Hopefully I  hear back from her soon, I know from other forums that she was snatching up a ton of Masterpieces sketch cards from people like Chris and Anna.

If she gets too many strikes against her account it will be suspended until she sorts out the payments on the items she's owing.
I've seen her a/c get suspended a couple of times in the past and it certainly threw some of the sellers she was owing money to into a flat spin, but I assume she settled her debts with them as her a/c was reinstated - I suppose that was the time she set-up an alternative ebay ID so she could continue bidding ... Just now an e-check made its way into my paypal account from her.
I wish she would have just responded to my e-mails so I didn't even have to begin the strike process (which I have of course now stopped) There was a month a little while back where I got extremely behind in shipping and payments because I had personal problems so if that IS the case I know what she is going through and I would have had no problem giving her more time.

All is well though, and I appreciate the help members gave to me.

I have been waiting on £500 from her for over 6 weeks, and have had an echeque pending in my paypal account for over 10 days.

I am going to wait until after the weekend, and if it doesn't clear I will have to relist the cards, and get my fees back from eBay.

It also seems that she is still bidding for cards on eBay using her other account finndragon.

My feelings on this situation is that if you cannot pay for an auction in the immediate aftermath you have no business being on ebay period.  Personal finances are a matter of responsibility and maturity and you have an obligation to make timely payment to a Seller.  Why Sellers indulge this women with long drawn out payments is beyond me and those that have done this are also responsible for the situation this woman finds herself in.  It's like giving drugs to a drug addict.  Surely there are other Buyers out there to purchase your sketch cards and if there is not then you are in trouble.

That may be true, and it's very sad that she has to deal with personal issues.  The problem is that regardless of the reasons, she isn't paying for her auction wins, one of her eBay accounts was suspended, and yet she keeps bidding with another eBay account.  She shouldn't bid on new items when she hasn't paid for those she won weeks ago.  It's unfair to sellers and her bids are inflating prices for other buyers.

Ray: Everyone has personal issues they have to deal with, some more severe than others, but when it comes down to it, it is irresponsible behaviour to continue bidding on auctions using one account, when you haven't paid for auctions you've already won weeks or even months previously with a completely different account.
I have no idea and no interest in any of her personal issues either, as that's her private affairs, but when it affects her judgement on what is acceptable bidding behaviour and what is not, then it's natural for me to question whether she is reliable and to be trusted or not. What has been reported on here so far would indicate to me that sellers need to exercise extreme caution when dealing with her.

I HAVE to agree with both Ed and Cindy on this - she has artificially inflated the items she's bid on (and not paid for) and she could almost be accused of shill bidding by those she outbid - is it any wonder people are annoyed with her over this?
You definitely wouldn't like it if you were owed large sums of money for your items by this bidder and I don't see why others should put up with her ebay buying methods and be out of pocket because she cannot pay either.

NOTE to Mods - if ANY of you think any of our posts will cause difficulties, then either move them or erase them, okay?  Wink

You know Ray that's life.  You play the hand you are dealt with on a daily basis.  People live, people die, people get sick but that has no bearing on what we are talking about on this and other boards about Bettina.  It is about personal responsibility and the lack of it.  You seem to know her so why don't you give her some advise about cleaning up her act and quit pissing people off already!

I have about $1500 out to her right now, and she is contacting me about it, and I am sure it will be worked out, it just might take some time.

Cards are not on her mind at the moment, she has some private matters to deal with that cosume all of her time and energy.

If cards aren't on her mind, she really shouldn't keep bidding on them under her other ebay id, as that is the thing that makes me wonder what is really going on, financial or not, if you can't pay for the ones you have won, why would you continue to bid???

Nienna: who said she does not owe me money too? I decided to give her the time she needs to sort everything out. I don't know her that well, I email with her because I'm in the same situation as most of you. She wanted some cards from me she did not pay for yet. It's a substantial amount. I did not know she had other ebay accounts that she is stilling bidding with, that surprises me too.

The reason I posted my initial reply is that I don't like these forum discussions about a person that is not paying. Because they usually get out of hand without any reason, you never know the true story behind it. And what she emailed me is not something you joke about or use as an excuse when it's not true. But I consider a deal between a buyer and a seller private, the same thing as I consider a persons personal matters private.

Maybe I'm too naive in this case or too social, or maybe it's the Christmas spirit  Angel but I think it will work out for all of us. I really hope so because I would like to get my money too.  Praying

I don't know if she is a member on this forum but I wish Duskatamonsul all the best and I hope she will work out everything with the sellers she bought from.

Hey guys, this thread is about highlighting a problem that a few people are having with a buyer, and offering a bit of friendly support for each other. Nothing more. It is not a place to pass judgement on other people's behaviour.

Bettina is at it again folks!   Roll Eyes   This info comes from the Scoundrel Forum where it has been identified she is using a new ebay ID called Arumiel.  She has bid on more sketch cards and has been blocked by several sellers and had her bids cancelled so keep your eyes peeled if you are selling and this ID shows up as one of your bidders!  This is beyond irksome already!!   Hopping Mad

Thanks for the info on the new ebay ID she's using Ed. Wink
I just hope she's able to pay the people for the auctions she's won from her original ID, let alone those from this latest incarnation.  Undecided Praying

The Bettina saga sadly continues folks!  Her new ebay ID of arumiel has gone the way of duskatamonsul and finndragon.  Sellers beware because who knows what new ebay ID she will come up with now!   Roll Eyes   Tongue
