HBO To Show OOTP Sneak Peek (possible spoilers)

Just for anyone who might be interested--rumor has it that starting Nov. 20th, HBO will start airing a sneak preview of the next Harry Potter film, Order of the Phoenix.  This works in conjunction with the cable premiere of GOF on Nov. 19th.

I can't wait!   Does anyone know if Gary Oldman has shot his scenes yet?  There has been info and pictures about most of the actors, but not about Oldman and David Thewlis.

That's an interesting article.  It was surprising to see that Thewlis did not like CATCF.  I loved it.  I thought it was a unique take on the original and I loved the ending much better than the original b/c you finally got to see how things ended with Willy Wonka, Charlie and his family.  I thought it was really heartwarming. 


Cindy, I think I remember reading an article not too long ago that Gary Oldman was filming his scenes. I was looking for that article, but I can't seem to find it...I'll keep looking.    I can't wait to see the preview! Supposedly more information will be released this week.

I think I read it on HPANA--I've been looking for it, but I can't find it.  I remember the article mentioned Gary Oldman and the filming of his scenes.  I don't think it was very detailed, but just mentioned the scenes he was filming.  I'll keep looking!

It sounds like Gary Oldman really got into his character...he's an amazing actor and is long overdue for an Academy Award, in my opinion.

its so exciting (as im a very slow reader and that sam talked me in to reading the full seven books for the first time last summer im on the 7 chapture of OoTF) reading that make me have a this devilish smile  of excitment!!!!

im dreading to think what this sets gonna be like! if they do a prop card of the tapestry i'll die!! and theres so many places within this book that could possibly contain a future prop card, grimmauld place, ministry of magic, Depatment of mysteries!!!!!  , Umbridge's office........... or a prop of one of her Decree's?? thats GOT TO BE A PROP!
my list is very long! i hope some of the DA sign like Luna and hopefully Helena BoNham Carter and maybe Ralph Finnes, unless theyre keeping back some amazing autos for the final movie?? i think way too much about this hehehehe

Oh my gosh--an Umbridge Decree Prop!!!!!! I had completely forgotten about that one!!!!! It has to be a prop--any of them....all of them!

I was thinking that maybe they will get Malfoy (Tom) and Snape (Alan) to sign for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince--it would make sense, given the story.  Voldemort and Hagrid might sign after the final film.   

Luna would be a must-have auto.     I think about this too much too!

I seriously cannot wait until this movie! That was a great description of the trailer! Do you think it will be the same one on HBO? I hope it is! 

I am so glad to hear that there are others who like to think about the possible inserts!    It is fun, though!

i read that trailer down the phone to mike and i was getting way too excited! theyre keeping the thestrals in!!!! yayayaayayyy!!

i totally agree about keeping Finnes and Hagrid for the final movie  and i definitly agree about malfoy and snape signing HBP cos you know its gonna be all about them in the movie! i love the whole draco trying to get his courage up storyline its gonna be amazing on screen! and snape........ i knew he was evil!
maybe they'll do weird creature card props for the thestrals and they'll be nothing in the swatch gap 
i hope tonks signs as well, theres going to be so many characters and groups to which they belong that we're all gonna want everyone in the film to sign hehehehee

I can't wait to see the Thestrals! I have this very vivid image in my mind and I can't wait to see if my imagination is close to what they look like! 

HBP is truly about Snape and Draco--I think the emotional element of HBP will be intense--I can see needing tissues already.   :'( I'm still hoping Snape really isn't evil, though--but now that JKR has confirmed that Dumbledore is absolutely dead, I can't see how Snape can't be evil.  Unless Dumbledore demanded that Snape kill him...   I remember reading how Dumbledore did say that "death is but the next great adventure..." or something like that.  I've actually considered that JKR might have Harry die and he would repeat those words once told to him by Dumbledore...Oh, I would cry my eyes out.  :'( :'( I hope she doesn't kill him off. 

  Love the idea of a Thestral creature card, though!   

The Umbridge quill would be HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Can you imagine how amazing that one would be!

  ive just read on mugglenet that the detailed description on dissendium is completely falsae according to warner bros?! what do you think of that? i think its a bit too accurate to be made up, maybe theyre panicing and trying to deny it cos someones seen it b4 they should of? 

im dreading the 6th film too bitsy im mortified were gonna have to watch sirius 'die' ( i dont beleive hes 100% dead cos we never see a body) i cried at GOF so this is just the start lol
i cant even imagine how the umbridge quill would look, do you think it would be red in parts to indicate the blood from harry and lee's hands?? ohhh im so excited for those scenes!!!!!

I can't imagine that it is a false report.  I think you are right--maybe someone leaked too much information before it was scheduled to be released.     I agree, it is too detailed and seems very accurate to the book to be a fake report. 

I also cried at GOF--I started crying when Harry gets his courage to face Voldemort...I really cried when he returned with Cedric's body.  :'( :'(  I can only imagine how I'm going to cry when Sirius dies. Although, I'm hoping there is something about the "Veil" that we don't know about.   

You know, I actually wondered if parts of Umbridges' quill might be covered in some kind of red to simulate blood...it's a good possibility. Those scenes will be awesome...I know I despised Umbridge when I read the book, I can only imagine seeing her on screen! She is so mean!

ABC Family Channel is going to air all three Harry Potter movies, three nights in a row,  kicking off their 25 days of Christmas, for those who might be interested.

Well, I don't know when HBO will air but I'm very happy for the ABC Family sneak peak with the HP Weekend. The commercial is currently airing. I've seen it twice today and with the magic of the DVR I was able to slow it down . Here's a great description of the little snippit of commercial.

The first thing that you see is two (what appear to be) Death Eaters, one with a blue mask and one with a green mask, I believe. It then switches to a scene with Harry in it looking scared and sweaty. Then it switches to a scene with Harry, Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Neville, and Luna riding broomsticks in London right over the Thames River. You see the London Bridge in the background and you see a cruise tour boat that they are flying past. Then it switches to Harry, Ron, and Hermione in the Forbidden Forest backing away from something - it's either Grawp or the Centaurs. Then it switches to Harry, Hermione, Ron, Luna, Neville, and Ginny flying past the Houses of Parliament/Big Ben. And then it switches to Harry flying towards the screen with London in the background, over the Thames River.

It could be them though Mike.  I had my doubts about how / if they would use Thestrals (sp).  This would be a way of getting them to the Ministry.  But I am going to have to speed up my reading because as far as I remember Ron never went into the Forest with Harry and Hermione - wasn't he always practicing Quidditch?  I know this is a small point but why involve Ron?  Still it sounds amazing and I can't wait till we get the preview  .  Thanks Mike  .
