I can see from the photo you provided that the detail work is impressive.  I think this one will be a huge hit as the Weta Balrog is N/A except on the secondary market and is not as large as this figure looks to be.

How much would a good price for a NECA Aragorn/Legolas figure be? Ihave seen them on ebay for $AUD 70-100 or around 50-80 US. And are the sounds they make actually Viggo and Orlando?
I have never heard of these before Sad

I believe they are the actors voices, I don't think Ed (Savage) would be as happy with his as he is if it was not Viggo speaking (since Ed thinks Viggo IS the definitive Aragorn.... (as do I)).

But we have been tricked before (the ROTK Video game does NOT feature Orlando or Viggo as voice talent - BAH, but all the other actors are real

so we need confirmation Smiley ... Ed??

I hope they are good... I was planning to buy one but wanted to check with board members if they believed they were accurate depictions of the actors. That said, I have my eye on a WETA Legolas statue at the moment as well. Which would you advise? Dayhiker? Savage? Huh

I'll dig them out when I am on a better PC and host them.

I would be into them - though my bank balance wouldn't get me into the collectors club Smiley

But what the hey - we can love them from afar and we can get our promo pieces with the DVDs - talking of which I did something very exciting today - I ordered my 4 disc collectors edition - apparently this time it's coming with a Howard Shore DVD... (I am hoping that is not the one that came out with the CD of ROTK last year!!!).

And did I hear a model of Minas Tirith  Undecided

 Grin

Anyway - down to business

And according to Ed he says

"I am Aragorn, son of Arathorn",

"By my life or death, I will protect you",

"You have my sword",

"It is an army bred for a single purpose, the destruction of men" (or does it say to destroy the world of men Ed (not that I know these quotes by heart of course - if it says what you wrote then Viggo' must have recorded these specially!!!

and

"We travel light, let's hunt some Orc"!

That's so funny  Grin

hi! i have the legolas statue, he is in an action pose, drawing his bow on the left side of his body and looking towards the right. it measures about 12 in. tall and is polystone of course (with that yummy(!)smell)...the NECA one measures about 24 in. tall and talks!! you can use it to guard your house or room or pantry!!

all in all it comes back to preference and space. i havent gotten the NECA ones as i dont have any space and they are not in scaewith the WETA ones.  but the balrog, definitely! that way i dont have to display my WETA balrog.

Hello FTY:

Yes it is Viggo speaking with the Aragorn figure.  I do not have the Legolas one but I do believe it is Orlando's voice in that one.  You are probably correct Roz with what Viggo speaks as I was doing that from memory.  I had to pack my man Aragorn away as we had hardwood flooring installed and we moved everything out of the first floor into the basement & garage.

Nice job posting my pictures I sent to you Roz!  Those were taken on my porch on July 27th my Birthday!   Smiley  This is one great detailed figure and Viggo's voice is icing on the cake!   Cool

Rob is  Grin, but he's been busy elsewhere & not posting here  Embarrassed

I'm into Weta big time @ present, partly 'cos I've got my trading card collection well established but mainly because the SSW stuff is really good quality and (unlike Topps) they aren't taking the mickey  Tongue Tongue

I'm currently waiting on a SDCC Smeagol, Morgul Lord  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin and Golden Hall environment. (sometime in the next few weeks) and got loads of preorders waiting. I'm catching up on older stuff on ebay as well.

If anyone is curious, I'd recommend getting a helm or two. Theoden and the Easterling helms are very impressive. The detail is fantastic!

Yeah, I noticed you were trying to dtart up your Figwit fan club on the Topps site - 'fraid you're not going to get many takers Grin

I would love to collect the Weta stuff, however, I don't have the resources nor the space to display them properly, so its a no-go for me I'm afraid :'(

The Figgy thing is a joke  Grin - I can't think of a more pointless "character" who's been created to satisfy a bunch of wailing pre-pubescents  Lips Sealed Lips Sealed

I still have a spare Figgy auto from ROTK if anyone's feeling very sad  Tongue Tongue

No probs FTY  Cheesy

I bought two cases of ROTK  Shocked and got every auto bar Saruman and Eomer. I traded some spares for Saruman, bought Eomer on ebay and I still have a spare Figgy and Theoden. I also bought a black ink Theoden later on.

I bought all the second wave autos on ebay.

Oh yeah, in a moment of madness/forgetfulness I bought an extra ROTK Aragorn.  Embarrassed Embarrassed

I'm still buying the ROTKU slow time - I was so ticked off with Topps that  I've only bought two Update boxes. I shan't be buying the Trilogy set beyond the base set, Sauron and Proudfoot unless something major happens to change my mind. But, I may get some of the memo cards if they're really good.
