I read on a website that Andy Serkis was going to be the big ape himself after PJ asked him whether he wanted the part. I can imagine him clasping the heroine (Naomi Watts) in his huge paw and hissing 'my preciousssss'

I think it's brilliant!

Anyone who's watched almost any of the DVD commentaries willhave heard that Serkis also "played" the hissing wraith "shire...Bagginsss", and in TT he played many of the parts involved in the "what about their legs ... they don't need those" (with an east end accent when Merry and Pip are with the Uruk Hai and as they stumble into Fangorn!

He's a very talented man and would have no trouble settling into King Kong... that's not to say a King Kong mocked up out-take (like with the pixar films) when he goes all Gollummy wouldn't be great

Somehow I cannot picture Jack Black in a serious film, a comedy yes but this one?  Do you know what part he and Adrien Brody play?
