Hmm 1000 cases, that's double the first set... let's hoe it does as well! There were 20 hot boxes as far as I know. MPC had 2 , Ztaylork had one! I think Olly 4 Kay (ebay and NSU forum ) had one... there will have been more but that's all that I have heard of

Does anyone have confirmed 10,000 boxes for the update set? Where did you get your information? Thanks

He's been at the San Diego Comic Con so I daresay he heard it from a fairly reliable source
To say it in "yank speak" I am bummed out about this - I had heard 600 cases... so the increase in price per box (about 30%) will be coupled with a decrease in rarity!
I hope it does ok!

hi! i heard it from artbox themselves, Mike Simon, VP of sales and marketing. he said there were 5000 boxes or 500 cases and he did confirm the 1000 cases or 10000 boxes.
take it with a grain of salt or believe what you will...but he did say that even at 10000 it looks like they expect to sell out again!
regarding the hot boxes, his assistant said there were 25 ofthose. did they actually contain all the inserts?

95% of the inserts! I think some were missing the Ron 100 and Harry 100 cards but I know of at least one which had 2 Hermione autos in so that *almost* made up for it Yep - I think we just have to wait and see on the produced numbers

Oh I definetely think that 10,000 boxes will still sell out. And I believe they will have some good signers for this set as well. And with the prop cards and everything else, this will be a golden set again. The time of year will be closer to christmas and that will increase the hotness as well.

he said too that he will get10 all new signers. if there will be repeat signers, he will still try to get 10 new ones.
so how many actual hot boxes were discoveredout of the 20-25 we know?

As long as 1 of the 10 is of a "main" character I will be happy. For example I would be happy with:
Ron Harry Hagrid Snape Draco Mcgonagall
And there are many other actors that would make me happy as well. Artbox will have to try very hard to get 10 signers that are undesirable signers. Just my thoughts

As long as they avoid too many repeat signers then they are ok!
I have to say that even Hermione would not be very welcome in the next set as those who have shelled out £300 might object to their investment!

I would think that producing more boxes means less per box!? So all of the sudden that box with a robe /1300 and nothing else just became a robe out of /2600. I am speculating but instead of a ratio of an auto every other box it will become an auto every 3 or 4 boxes. I am still excited to see the update, but it definately will be cheapened by the 10,000 box run. Look at the FOTR auto's 1:24 - if you were lucky 2 in a box! Then Two Towers - 1 auto per box... I am still amazed that people will pay $150 + for a box of Two Towers. How many auto's in the Two Towers are worth the price of a box? Do any of them go for $150+ (legolas maybe) Eowyn? Anyone who know please let me know. I don't see with that large of a supply the prices going up fast. Of course we will have to hear how many inserts per box! Also does anyone know how many boxes of the various LOTR releases Topps Produced???

Legolas and Eowyns will both usually clear $150. That is not nearly as startling as the FOTR boxes going for $350, and unless you are lucky enough to pull 2 very good autos (Gandalf, Gimli) Then you wouldn't come close to the $350 mark, and pulling a sam would be killer. I think the ratios will probaly go down slightly, but possibly they will have more costumes, and more of them with higher numbers. I still don't think that people realize that a costume numbered out of 1300 is not very many compared to what topps does with the LOTR costumes (or rather pieces of scrap materiel left over from "the creation of a costume) Only time will tell, but I truly believe that if a set limited to 5000 boxes shot to $200 a box as fast as it did in the start of summer (ebay dead season) that 10,000 boxes will be gobbled up just as fast. Mostly becuase many more people will order boxes (and in many cases a full case) of the next set and they will get into the market much faster to be opened, and then the rest of the people that are just discovering them will drive the price up. Millions of fans and only 10,000 boxes means the supply and demand curve is still off.

I do believe that many people who buy boxes buy them actually to have boxes rather than to open them!
To you and me it might seem alien to have a collection of sealed boxes but it might be a cool thing to have!

I agree with Roz, I have tried that a few times to add a sealed box to my collection, but I have given up as it seems that they never last longer than a few days. ztaylork
